The Christina Morris Case

  • After a night out with friends in Plano, Texas, Christina Morris vanished. She had been walking to her car with another person from the party, Enrique Arochi. Arochi's lies don't last long, as he had a number of contradictions in his story about that walk. But he never admitted to taking her.

I don't know why Americans always have to be so stupid and simple minded. Just because someone is talking about a killer and the "spotlight" is on him / her, doesn't mean people are treating them like some celebrity or a person who has done something great. And having a "spotlight" doesn't always mean that it "encourages" others. Most of the times, it actually discourages people because they start thinking about the shame it will cause them and their family if they are ever caught for something like that, with everyone despising them.
In a story told, people always remember the key characters. So they WILL remember the victim. And analysing the killer can often lead to people coming up with preventive measures and counter measures.

I have personally been involved with the search for two missing women. The first one the murderer happened to be a friend I grew up with. Searching for someone missing is always hard. However having a former friend be the reason for her not only going missing but for murdering her in such a brutal way changes you. I still feel horrible for once being friends with someone could do what he did. The other missing person turned out to be a murder victim as well but she was able to criticality wound him when was about 50% the reason he was found. And unfortunately he qualifies as a serial killer. I just don't know how anyone can take someone else's life unless they were defending themselves or a loved one. They are sickening and shouldn't get to draw another breath.

Most murders are senseless (unless they’re self defense), but this kind is truly senseless. Christina did nothing to her killer, but he felt he had to punish a woman - ANY woman - because another woman bruised his fragile ego. And the whole time this fool had a girlfriend! He was straight up mad because he couldn’t get a side piece! It’s even more sickening because he presumably pretended he cared about her safety and walked to her to her car. Truly a horrific person.

I grew up in Plano and was very familiar with this case. I lived about 5 minutes from the Shops of Legacy and was there basically every weekend. I was there that weekend that Christina went missing, but was parked in a different parking garage. I remember that basically everyone knew that Arochi was responsible from day 1. The boyfriend gave off some suspicion, but Arochi was the last one seen with her. It was strange that more wasn't caught on camera, though, because there are surveillance cameras like every 5 feet in that area. I also know Officer Benzick, the uniformed officer talking to Arochi in the interrogation room, because he's worked in that little Plano PD sub-station in the Shops of Legacy for like a decade. Arochi won't be getting out of prison, even if they don't charge him with murder. They basically knew he killed her, but couldn't prove it without a body. So, they tried him for the kidnapping (something they could prove) and gave him a life sentence for it.

The fact he saw her last and was friendly doesn't say WAS an aqantinace, it say "Is" an aqantinace. I have to admit that when I first stumbled across this channel, I was put off by Mike's handling of the cases. He seemed flippant, made too many jokes, and it rubbed me the wrong way. I thought it was disrespectful to the victims and families... Then I thought about my side of the coin. I'm watching these true crime videos as entertainment. I could try to make it sound like something it's not by saying, "I'm interested in the psychology of crime," or some bullshit like that, but the truth is, I'm watching this for entertainment sake, for better or worse. I made my viewership somehow morally superior to his jokey nature, but he's the one who's researching and bringing these cases to light and making them more "palatable" to the viewer. I still feel incredibly sad and humbled by the victims and their families, but I no longer feel that Mike does anything wrong by making a horrible tragedy a little less awful to learn about. I hope this makes sense. Were something horrible to happen to me (knock on wood), I'd want people to learn about it through this sort of lens.

Personally; I believe it’s more likely that he was WAY too drunk to drive, accidentally hit/backed over Christina while trying to speed out (killing her), and then disposed of her body in an intoxicated panic.
STILL a disgustingly horrible thing to do; don’t get me wrong! He’s a narcissist who only thought of himself, and didn’t care one lick about the pain he caused Christina or would continuously cause her family (by not knowing what happened to her).
I just don’t think he had enough time (3 minutes) to have successfully attacked her, incapacitate/tie her up, load her struggling body into his car, and not have Christina scream/grab someone else’s attention throughout the whole ordeal. Either way he’s responsible for her death though, so he’s behind bars where he deserves.
