When he said 'it was my tone' my heart broke, that is such a classic abuse thing, making him feel like he deserves to be hurt. People don't realise the mental traps you fall into in abuse situations and these all keep you in the relationship. Just heartbreaking.

Yup. I just got out of one last night. 2 years of always apologizing for being hurt by his bad treatment, working while he sleeps all day and stays out all night with hos then feeling bad for being suspicious. Then I woke up and just couldn’t take it anymore.
I felt the same way, so sad. That's a classic sign of ongoing abuse. The things that her parents were saying about him when they got arrested are even grosser to me now. And isn't it amazing that she all of a sudden had "so much she didn't say" once she realized she was going to jail? She is so manipulative.

There’s no ‘a’ in “hypovolemic” - and from everything I’ve heard, losing blood rapidly like that is quite a painless way to go; people get tired feeling and pass out - the wound itself would hurt, but adrenaline and shock takes over for that to a large degree. I have never been attracted to women who pay too much attention to how they look. My girlfriend is a plain-Jane one who wears blue jeans, t-shirt, canvas shoes, and no make-up. Her idea of doing her hair is to run a brush through it. Objectively she is not the most beautiful woman in the room, but subjectively she is stunning to me. Most importantly, when she talks about people, she never says anything bad about them. If she has to vent about someone, she never uses their name and then she apologizes for venting. How many times have I seen her in a crowd at a party talking to the one person who looks "unhappy or preoccupied about something." I suspect I'm going to marry that girl someday if she will have me.

And in their specific situation, with how well off and surrounded by friends and family they are, it’s not a case of “well now he has the apartment and I’m out on the street”

It's astonishing, the transformation after someone spends a couple months in jail waiting for trial. With no hair coloring, no nails, no makeup, no curling irons, no blow dryers. Night and day difference.

I had severely low blood pressure at the time, and couldn’t get up to get away, or else I would have passed out. I was utterly scared for my safety. I’d never been that scared before from a guy I was dating - I never talked to him again after that. Eff that!!

Wow 😳 quite a bit terrified to realize I dated someone exactly like this. Ya know, minus all the influencer stuff. She was getting real violent with me at the end of our relationship. I felt like I couldn’t leave, like I was trapped. Those months after I left were very rough for me…but I’m thankful I did. Who knows if I’d still be here.
