Anyone who dismisses the DiSalvo stuff is sorely missing out. You can't compare the two vocalists as their styles are so drastically different, but both men bleed talent and passion for the music. The first five albums are all monstrous.

Hell yeah. Lord Worm has been one of my favorite vocalists for over two decades, and he was a major influence. “None So Vile” was one of those life changing records for me. I had heard Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Deicide, Suffocation, and many other death metal bands before that, and those bands certainly were game changers for me. But when I heard that first scream in “Crown of Horns” I was awestruck. I’d never heard anything like that album in my life. It was my “bible” for a very long time once I found a copy of it at a Tower Records many years ago. It still is a great album to me, never get tired of it. I liked “Whisper Supremacy” as well, because I dug the power and ferocity behind Mike DiSalvo’s vocals as well. “Emaciate” is a hell of a song. Great interview from 2 legendary frontmen. Ave!

I Saw Lord Worm with Cryptopsy in 2006 in L.A. at the former Key Club. I met him and he even signed my ticket stub. Cool guy sucks to think that had he not left again we would have gotten a badass double album and not that deathcore one they released after he left.. I love none so vile but Once was Not is slightly my favorite because I love how experimental it is..

    1 1/2 = space and a kitchen
    2 1/2 = space, dining room, and a kitchen
    3 1/2 = a living room, a bedroom, a dining room, and a kitchen

@@ReaperMetalProductions Very nice. Yes, the song, "Into the Darkness", is by Kittie from the mid-2000s. I never minded nu metal. It is certainly alternative music than it is metal, but I enjoyed some of it just as much as black/death/thrash. I prefer nu metal over the kind of rubbish we have today like Amaranthe, In this Moment, and Butcher Babies. And, I especially prefer nu metal over Kamelot--the worst live band I've ever seen.

It may sound like a cliche but Cryptopsy changed my life. A friend of mine in Canada and I traded tapes sometime in 1998. I don't remember what I sent him, but he taped me None So Vile by Cryptopsy and my jaw hit the floor. At the time I was more into hardcore then metal. I still liked bands like Suffocation and Incantation, but I rarely heard any new bands that I got excited about. Cryptopsy got me back into metal in a huge way. It also changed my band at the time (Parade of The Lifeless) from playing metalcore with thrash and death metal influence to pushing the limits of technicality and brutality. We were much more experimental than Cryptopsy, but we were after that kind of intensity
