Rick and Bay are true metal underground warriors! coolest dudes in DEATH METAL for sure. great interview thanks Reaper keep em coming! HAIL SADISTIC INTENT!!!
Great interview. I went to L.A. and stopped at Dark Realm records over the summer and I was able to talk to Rick for a while. He talked to me for about an hr. He told me the story of how they got Jeff (Possessed) to start singing again. I can't wait to go back again one day.
Such a small discography, but some of the best death metal ever made. Mexican metalheads are the fucking best! I met these guys while they were touring in Possessed, which was amazing.
Bay and Rick are awesome just met them today super down to earth , sold me a limited edition album cause is it was my birthday, thanx Bay and Rick !!! Sadistic Intent best brutal metal band
Been going to Dark Realm since 2015. Always a safe space to hang out talk listen to Metal and honestly helps you forget about your worries and stuff. Hail Sadistic Intent Hail Dark Realm !
I met Rick today while getting some birthday presents for myself at his store...really, really cool guy, super friendly and a true professional. Listened to Sadistic Intent via youtube tonight, their band kicks ass! 🤘🏻
First time I saw Sadistic Intent was in 1994. The show was at The Showcase Theatre in Corona, California. The show was suppose to be Divine Eve and Absu. Something happened with Absu but Sadistic Intent played in their spot. Totally fucking blown away! Seen them a handful of times after that and gone to Dark Realm Records usually spending a good portion of my paycheck there buying cd's. Rick and Bay are really cool guys. I remember when they got the promo cd for Cannibal Corpse' Vile. I was there listening to it with them and they dubbed me cassette tape of it! Last time I was there it was in 2012, went to their new location. Spoke to Rick for nearly two hours. I bought a Dismember t-shirt. These guys are keeping metal alive in LA. Much luck to them and STAY SICK!!!
Seeing these guys play at backyard gigs was insane! Fast forward somewhat years, when they opened Dark Realm on Firestone, I bought alot of merch..One item that stands out, that I still have, is a badass ashtray with a diablito sitting on top..It was displayed on the front window.. Bought it right away.
I came across an interview from Tobias Forge of the band Ghost and he mentioned Sadistic Intent as one of the bands he liked since back in the early/mid 90's! Really glad to see Rick and Bay Cortez here, great interview, very interesting... Long live Sadistic Intent!!
Bay and Rick seem like a couple guys that would be great to have a few beers with and just talk metal. Some bands seem to move away from actually liking metal (as J Dawg has often pointed out about some metal legends), but these guys are still metal to this day. I would love to see Sadistic Intent live again, as it was a cool show, but I wasn't as familiar with the band back then as I am now. Their releases are sometimes tough to find, but they are worth tracking down, if you ask me. No offense to the other guy who is on some of the other interviews, but I prefer when you do the interviews by yourself, Reaper. And you should always have J Dawg on the regular Hellcast episodes.
LA has always had a Heavy underground scene. Omen, Savage Grace, Dark Angel Tyrant, Slayer, Bitch, Abatoir , and Cirith Ungol coexisted at the same time that Hair Metal Glam bands. Sadistic Intent were the next logical step in the LA Underground Heavy Metal scene, which definitely continues the unique style that's different from any other Metal
Welcome back sadistic Intent, to the world interview good to hear from you guys, really good interview really pro, like the others interviews, but this one really pull my attention since I don't hear from you new interviews, thanks to this guy that make this happen,I checked the all interview, and I wonder one more hour, would be nice to hear that interview, thanks to this guy really heavy looking, a rock star , make this happen,
HAILZ TO BAY AND RICK CORTEZ AND AND THE REST OF THE GUY'S FROM SADISTIC INTENT !!! AND DARK REALM RECORD'S !!! DARK SADISTIC DEATH METAL FOR LIFE !!! 👍🏼☠️🍺🍻🤘🏼
How the fuck am I just now finding out about this interview from a year ago of one of my favorite bands on a channel I’ve been following for a while! 😦
Very glad this long awaited inty FINALLY happened! Some bullshit delays back there, but all worth it in the end. Killer background, tons of great trivia/stories and more. You get Rick in the mix and it's basically on cruise control. The Interview runs itself lol However, we just scratched the ancient black earth with this one. Way more to unveil. . . All in time Hail! 666
I'm a die-hard metalhead and have been for a couple decades and I actually like the first two Manson albums...😆 Portrait of an American family and Antichrist Superstar Kick-Ass! But obviously I'm here and like sadistic intent as well...

I have to checkout Dark Realm records on my trip to L.A. in October. Never knew Sadistic Intent owned it.
You guys are the best I love the classic death metal interviews
They played at my backyard way back in 1987 in Lynwood, California when they were known as SKUM....🤘🤘🤘
That’s awesome, you wouldn’t by chance have footage of it would you?
I came across an interview from Tobias Forge of the band Ghost and he mentioned Sadistic Intent as one of the bands he liked since back in the early/mid 90's! Really glad to see Rick and Bay Cortez here, great interview, very interesting... Long live Sadistic Intent!!
