What a great guy you are for mentoring and helping that young lad out named Henry. I’m glad your day got better on that other field. Odd enough, I just watch another video from that same weekend hunt and they hated it. I’ll be there in October from the U.S. in the Suffolk area for three days on a hunt. Fingers crossed.
I don't think Henry needs any help. He's a very very knowledgeable kid, who's been detecting years and has his own very popular channel called Griffinds. I've been watching him years. I love the collaboration vesios that Dan does with him. They just have fun and a laugh. @@DoubleGDigs
Digger Dan! so good to meet you at the Rally, thanks for tips, I listened more to my machine and today found a snake belt clip 1865, was iron corroded onto the snake part but had iron signal with a clear chirp too, normally I wouldn't bother but I did this time! Also found a George III gaming token 1791, 7/8 vdi which increased to 12 as I dug, again the sound was good... So thanks. You are respected and enjoyed. Wasn't it good to see Grim and Holly and Young Henry and dad Griff, Tom and Marie and Bucks.Boys too. So hope your memories of Oundle did raise your spirits at the end of the weekend.
I’ve heard this dig was an absolute hosh mate, a lot of money too for very little finds.. not good, on the other hand Tom & Marie saved the weekend for you guys 👌🏻

I was there at the weekender. I saw you in the first 3 hours of being there, but at that point I was to pissed off to talk as I would have come say hi and enjoy your content. Left at 9:30am Saturday. Was awful and got kicked out and blocked. And organisers just ignored my concerns on a few occasions. We just got taken for pay checks nothing else. Gutted for all who went, when all were looking forward to it. Hopefully see you on another weekender ( defo not the last group) !!! Shocking.

I've been seeing a few videos saying that rally was suspicious 😕 more about them getting the money then metal detecting. Also heard the people setting up the rally had day hunts on the property before announcing the metal detecting rally.. Sad people are taking advantage of fellow detectorest.
@darbysdownhomedetecting they started selling the tickets for the rally months ago, then had a day dig on one of the fields last weekend 😡. It's just daylight robbery if you ask me. They have now banned lots of people from their Facebook group and closed down their page so it can't be seen. Says it all if you ask me.
How lucky you could escape the field of nightmares for a field of dreams! I was camped opposite dragon and was chatting with them about the m9, they suggested picking your brains, now I know where you all buggered off to, lucky people

Hey Dan, cracking recovery! I've been on one Boudicca rally before, last year North of Peterborough. A promise of undetected land only to find out on arrival they were there the week before. Stayed all day as I'd travelled for 3 hours, literally dug 7 holes all day, worst rally ever and never again! Funnily enough the admins disappeared on that one as well, and there were no scrap buckets. Name and shame them I say, they are no good for the hobby.
I was on that dig as well. They came back to that field because it produced loads the wk before. I found 3 hammereds a Roman brooch and 2 roman coins! Maybe you need to blame your detector 😂
The fact that they were on there a week before a rally takes the piss. To then tell everyone that it's undetected land? Try blaming the fact that the land has been done before?
@jayfromthelane the trouble here, is they the have done multiple reccy's with lots of people. That land has been done by their own group. They even had a day dig on one of those fields last weekend 👎
Oh, he was one of the very few lucky ones. Trust me, it was awful. It wasn't just the lack of finds, but the disrespect for the detectorists there. Crammed into a small field like sardines, some couldn't even fit in and had to camp on the dirt track to the site. The list goes on.
