- Got the Bass Pro/Cabela's Spring Fishing Classic sales ad in the mail and saw their kayaks were on sale! Decide to head over to Cabela's in KCK to look them over. Bought a new Ascend 12T kayak for $599 and got a $100 gift card that I used for the matching paddle and new life jacket. Couple days later when the weather cleared, headed to Hamilton City Lake to try it out. Going to need some time on the water to get the hang of a kayak. Did enjoy being on the water and trying something new. Will be doing more videos on the kayak and upgrades done to it.

What you may want to do is take some clear silicon and seal all the bolts and screws. They will leak if left out in the rain.
Thanks for the advise. Read that on a Ascend forum, that the screws in the top deck leak and will fill the kayak with water.
Picking my 12t up next week...super excited to grt a fishing kayak...i have a sit in which i love...just needed to upgrade a little bit
I love my 12T. Need to get a trailer for it, as it becomes heavy to load after being on the lake all day.
We just checked them out at Cabela’s, the ones outside were dirty and faded as well, I did not like that
I'm glad I got mine from inside the store. A few outside had broken handles and hooks. Bought the wife's FS10 at Bass Pro in Independence MO. They keep all their kayaks inside.
how hard is the kayak to paddle? would you recommend a trolling motor instead or can you just paddle?
The kayak paddles around easy. I've only had it out 3 times and my shoulders and chest get a little sore from paddling, but I'm old and out of shape. I plan on using it for some online kayak tournaments starting next month with just a paddle. If I were going to add a trolling motor I might look at a different kayak. Don't know with a person and equipment then add a trolling motor and battery how it would sit in the water. You might have to try different setups to keep the kayak balanced so your not heavy on one end.
Where did you get the support hitch ?
Bought that at Cabela's. Malone hitch mount $150.
