- As you know, Ascension Tree is the key to make your characters very powerful. You use your AP in order to unlock new abilities. However, there are very expensive abilities! So, in this video, I'm going to show you the faster way to earn AP and I will show you which 999/333 Ascension abilities are the best according to your preferences and playstyle.

5 years on, this method was patched to be much slower. Now in order to get the mobs to spawn you have to turn the camera away from the spawn spot, then back. On the rare chance someone is looking for AP in 2021, I hope this helps.

Moogle Midgar Well normally by the end of elementary school most people can do this very magical thing called "reading" it's a rather simple process. He uses this method in the video, as you seem to not realize I thought I'd enlighten you.

This grinding technique gets even better once you have the new accessories from the holiday pack. Get an extra 3 AP for every A+ in time and offense, so it goes from 3/4/5 AP per beast whistle up to 7/8/9 AP

Chico Lopes Yep yep, you have to wear both Warrior's Fanfare and I believe it's called "Blitzer's" Fanfare. Warrior's gives you 1 AP for A+ in offense, Blitzer's gives you 2 AP for A+ in time.

A little tip, you can do a left/right on airsteps to move around your target. Quite a good way to get them blindsides
Good choice on adding air step. Some tips for air step:
- Also, make sure to unlock the ability that gives you MP per successful aerial hit as using air step consumes MP.
- You can perform up to a maximum of 3 hits (with a sword) before you are required to air step again.
- Tilting a direction and hitting attack will cause you to air step in that direction.
- Performing an air step will give you a small invincibility frame.
- You can hold evade to dodge incoming attacks while in the air once you unlock the ability.
- Air step works best on large targets but smaller ones are also possible.
Knowing this, you should try to hit the target 3 times before air stepping in a direction to maintain as much MP as possible.

What sucks is there's really no fight in the game tough enough to justify grinding all that shit.
Well, yes, it's a problem now, but I think they will release more content soon. Maybe a hard mode for hardcore gamer.

There are quite a few endgame monsters that are difficult to beat with good rewards like the Zwill Daggers or the Ulric Kukris. Also, the Adamantoise at level 99 is rather intriguing.

youwinoneinternets Sorry, but yeah, I agree. The battle system should be fleshed out a little, and so should the enemies.
I found the exp ability for the car to be useless later on. It only gives you 10 exp after a few minutes in the car. I use quick travel way more since it's fast and only 10 gil.
Also, for the unlimited Airstep skill, it's handy to have the skill that gives you MP when you connect with air strikes (found in the Combat tree too). So you really can do infinity airsteps since doing them cost MP.
Fake true. I only wish that I hadn't wasted ap on it. Lol
Airdance is honestly the best, in the post game dungeons, and elsewhere, it is insanely good for dodging enemy attacks. one stipulation you need the ability that restores mp when hitting an airial attack

Wow this actually does work! However, I found that you can do this anywhere and with any items equipped. All you need is the summon whistle and the killing blow with a royal arms weapon. With that being said, using the shield of just and fighting one-hit kill enemies in his location is the fastest way!!
Yeah, you can do this anywhere, but, in this place, army enemies will not drop next to you.

all I did was get a chocobo and move it into a wall while I wasn't playing
I got 69 AP out of this until my console paused the game
Impervious is also really nice if you practice the timing and have a bit of resistances (so you dont always get 1 shot into danger)

Awesome guide no doubt but i have a question. Are u sure the Thieves Way accessory is helping? It reduces the MP cost of PHASING it says, which is the dodging from holding Square. Warp striking, which is what this guide is showing is a different ability.

You can sell those 99 sabertusk claws for 8.900 Gil and you can sell/buy directly from the car. Most people don't know there is a shop on their regalia :)

Yeah, you can get every ability unlocked in 9 or 10 hours of farming if you want.

I did this with the new holiday Items so I get plus 3 AP after every fight plus the ones I get from killing enemies :3
How could you not include impervious? That ability is so good. At least for me, it's a life saver, literally.
i tested that one out, and found it only to work about 50% of the time, although still probably worth it, what do you think?
It works almost all the time for me on attacks that knocks me to the ground. It has helped me a lot in fighting high level monsters--getting hit by a 3k+ damage and recovering it immediately is a good feeling.
splat32 it all depends on your timing, I get it most of the time, unless I'm spamming X (circle for ps folks)

also if you are a good at parrying you can get the combat ability that heals you all the dmg taken from an attack if you press square just after the attack hits you but i have to say its kinda buggy

you forgot the powercraft line of abilities getting ultimate powercraft automatically gives you potency 199 spells in elemancy
Mmm There are catalysts that increase potency, so , for me, it would be a waste to spend 999 AP for this. But, anyway, it's my opinion. Thanks for your comment.
Yes that's true however automatically starting with a potency 199 spell increases potency further...this way its very possible to have a potency of 600 or more

I went to that tomb location for a quest of the fat guy take wants you to take pictures, the tomb didnt had the shield, it had a note of the hunters HQ saying something that the greatsword its still not acounted for, stolen or something
Mike Feraz I did so many quest near the tomb with the shield and never realized I didn't open it. spent forever trying to finish the collection

Or you can use the airstep sword for unlimited air attacks.

Man, I wasted 555 AP on magic potency yesterday because I'm going to craft Limit break spells, I did that before trying Gladio's level 3 tech, wish I had used the AP there. Now I have to get about 750 for more Gladio
555 AP isnt much anyway

TheKingHostile Dude just farm AP using the beast whistle method. Took me less than a day on and off to get maxed Abilities skills. Plus you don't really get that much from leveling if I remember correctly. If you're relying on just leveling for AP then gl because it barely helped me lol.
munir55 you get like 5 AP per level per character. Since I was able to do 30-99 in about 2 hours it was way faster than AP farming.
TheKingHostile Yeah but lets compare that to how many things that can be unlocked on the ability tree...Maybe only 3 (333 AP skills)? Levels barely did much compared to how much was still needed to be unlocked hence AP farming is the way to go as there is no limit to how much AP you can farm. This game is relatively easy to get platinum but still requires some form of patience.

+factor747 How much damage can Gladio dish out with his Impulse-command per hit? For me, He first hit the dcamage cap somewhere between level 40 and 50. But how high does it get from there?
My second question: Would you recommend the ability to fasten up the command gauge or should I go for "break damage Limit" for Gladio first?
It does like 15.000 points and it costs 3 bars. I dont recommend the ability to fasten up the command gauge because if Noctis eats a special dish for him, the command gauge will fill up faster too.

I already have the ability that speeds up the command-meter but it really isn't making a huge difference. It's nice to have it, but not much more.
I'd love an ability that removes the damage Cap for regular, non-linked counter-attacks though, cause I don't get Link attacks that often. I'm moving too much to be near the others most of the time.
Do regular shields warp and hit a wide range of targets??? I was gonna do what you did but I had no clue a child will net me multiple contact
What if buy the Ignis Limit Break and use his abilitiy where everbody Hits the enemy over and over again?
This doesnt work like that, Overwhelm actives the best attacks of everyone only. Limit break is for direct hits when a character performs a special movement or when a combined attack is activated. In my opinion, 100% critical hits dish is more effective than limit break ability.

Question, does Ignis have a Libra like ability that lets you see monsters stats or is that just something seen only in Wait Mode? I'd be much more comfortable knowing just how im fareing on a high health enemy

Well, yes, Ignis has libra, but he cant analyze every enemy because he need to stand still for some time. If you need to get libra every time, you should use Wait Mode (hold R1 to analyze).
factor747 I agree. Not to mention in that case you could use the ap for something else.

My limitless link only does around 13k most of the time and 18 on occassion and over 20k rarely. I am using Ultima blade. Am i doing something wrong? I have the whole thing maxed out on all four characters.
It's fine, some enemies are more resistant that other ones. Also the weapons of your teammate are important too. But keep in mind that you never will do 99999 damage, only limit break spell can do it.
I try that n for some reason the whistle is not bringing any enemies at all I guess I keep doing it the hard way

having trouble getting spawns with the whistle. I've looked all over the area to see if there are any monsters screwing with me and I can't find any any suggestions?
Well, they dont respawn at night. If this happens to you, return to the car by using the map menu, this will reload the game and try again. This happened me a few times.
I just noticed actually that nothing is spawning at night or day exxpet the imperial drop ships. I've reloaded several times and slept several times.

Yeah there are a few Useful Passive Skills in this Game.But you can easily beat the Game without even spend 1 AP :D At least the Story.Hope NG+ will come soon...

Sure, but I think it's pointless because there is a dish that gives you 100% critical hit.

I'm trying your method of farming AP but although I'm lvl 29 I'm not killing these level 2 monsters in one hit so it isn't working for me ,my Noct must be awfully weak lol any suggestions? Thanks for the great vid btw
Try to increase Noctis attack power by eating dishes. You should be able to defeat these enemies because they are level 2.

Yes, it's a dungeon. Technically, you dont need this accessory. If you dont have it, use ethers or point-to-warp to restore mp if you need to.
you do know that does not do what you think it does it does not reduce the cost of warp strikes what you need to get is the Robe of the Lord it increase's noctis mp recover rate by 25% and the megaphone for gladio it increase's your party's hp regen rate by 10% and also getting the 1000 ap in 1 hour is wrong thats if your a bit slower you can get up to 1500-2000 if you refine the time it takes so summon them and also when you use the whistle right as you blow the whistle start to look down and the mobs well spawn faster

just the head up sometime the game do glitch out and only give you 1 ap for killing multiple enemies with a warp-strike
u still get ap for every monster when that happens

Do you know of any way to get the mech lvl 99 to spawn?
Deadly Pearl Only high level mech I found was 78 it spawns in the same spot as the giant cobra. Which if you need gil its crest is worth a lot. it also does 5x chain so a quick 50k damage.

Deadly Pearl The Max Angelious is a random spawn, just go anywhere and kill the nifs that spawn and sooner or later it'll show up. there is no "Set way" to spawn him, just gotta wait his ass out
