Thank you burr-y much sir. You saved me. I've been stuck waiting 4.5 hrs for a dock door in 105 degree Arizona heat and my truck was shutting off every five minutes. Now I'm nice and cool thanks to you.😁👍
So mine didnt have that light flashing at the top. But when I turned cruise control on while idling and pressed acc it revved up to 700rpm and has been idling there so far for way longer than it usually shuts off at lol so thanks
While my truck was idling the red engine light and the yellow light come on saying stop 🛑 should I’ve to worry before it didn’t used to show me the red stop engine light before it shuts down thx
The truck won't let itself get hurt. So you don't need to take any action necessarily, but it might have an issue and still shut down. To try and troubleshoot the engine code you can watch this though: ruclips.net/video/CKUoK7ckFVQ/видео.html
No I wouldn't think so, if you are in the traditional cascadia then I believe you will need that controller as well as many other little sensors to run the system. In the new next gen cascadia there is no controller in the back.
You might want to add this is if the truck engine starts to handle the batteries or engine temp, when the truck engine starts it WILL cut the power to the espar heater, causing it to reset. Reason being the fuel pump is activated and it will flood out the little diesel espar heater. So everytime the truck cranks the espar will reset. Espars take so little current yo should get a full 10 hour break on battery power alone without having to set the truck to optimized idle. Modern dd13 and 15's should have no problem cold starting down to 0 degrees.
Your light isn't coming on and it isn't working? There are a couple checks that the truck does to make this work. The main one is a hood switch telling the truck the hood is closed. The sensor for that is on the driver side inside the hood mounted right up near the corner of the grill. Check to see if that is loose.
So the question is, does your truck have optimized idle? Your truck has to be built at the factory with this set up. Are you getting error codes or does it just not do anything? If you aren't sure if you have it you can check 2 things to see if the truck has the equipment. First, in the sleeper do you have the optimized idle controller box? Second, let's say that freightliner happened to build the truck without that back and it did have optimized idle (don't know that they have but let's say they did) then lift your hood and look on the inside of your hood close to the grill there will be a little black piece with a wiring harness running to it. All opt idle trucks, even the brand new ones, have this. It is the sensor that tells opt idle if the hood is closed. If that isn't there then your truck doesn't have opt idle. If it is then we need to figure out what is wrong with opt idle
Nice job explaining the difference between heaters

Nice and cool is the only way to be.

@@Suteishee it might be re genning which isn’t always good.

Controls set at 4 air going blow ac vents as control on

If you don't have the optimized ideal controller in the back does it still auto start stop if you turn on the cruise control and idle it up?

Interesting, we have not noticed that on our end. Good to know though.
If you have a push bottom engine start ? That works with that
Wasn't aware there was a push button start on this truck?
My idle light is t coming on

What is it I’m looking for or could you send a picture?
60psi oil pressure @ 600rpm???
Every engine is different
@@DDTruckDriver yea but mine and lots of others dd15 have 14-18

If espar is working right you don't need to idle truck just turn it on
Great demonstration video
