The guy who played the principal is a character actor that has been in a billion sci-fi / horror movies. He isn't aged up he's actually old.
While Jamie Lee Curtis will always be my Scream Queen, I didn't think this movie was bad or that it deserved the HATRED it got.
I'll say this about Mom Myers/Rob Zombie's wife... she made me feel very sorry for her. I felt she convinced me she was a basically loving mom who married a violent moron and tried so hard to help her family even stripping to keep her kids fed. She didn't deserve her fate.

Really, I did not know that! I always found him frightening but I kind of feel bad for making fun of him now.
I really should have recognised the burn marks. My Father was a fire fighter and I saw a lot of crazy shit!!
But I do think Richard Lynch is a great B actor and that the entire movie was filled with horror movie favorites!!
Regardless of your opinion, regarding his movies. I don't think we can argue if he's a hardcore fan or not!
I remember the first time I heard him use dialogue from Night of the Living Dead, in one of his songs!

NO, they DIDN'T AGE the actor RICHARD LYNCH! According to IMDb and Wiki, in 1967 after taking LSD (acid), he SET HIMSELF ON FIRE in New York City's Central Park.
He made use of his scarred face to play sinister-looking characters in horror films. He was also the antagonist in the Chuck Norris movie "Invasion U.S.A.".

Well put. I don't understand it when people say. Zombie ruined Halloween!
It's ridiculous. You'd think Rob burned all the copies of the original and said, "my Halloween is the only one that matters" lol
The guy made a remake, which didn't copy the original. In fact he took the o.g. idea and did a, "What if?"
If you like it, cool. If you don't, watch the original, or the newest ones.
The only Director we should be angry with, is George Lucas because he has changed the originals and has not given us a choice. Not in high quality at least.

Rob Zombie loves horror movies and the casting (plus his music) proves this.
The Principal is Richard Lynch. The cemetary caretaker is the Clown, from Devil's rejects, (which also had Ken Foree in it). The stepfather is William Forsythe. One of the bullies was in Spy Kids. The Sheriff is Brad Douriff aka Chucky. The nice prison guard is played by Machete himself, Danny Trejo. A man who was in prison, back in the 60's, which makes his line about being locked up, true for the actor.

@@markmac2206Halloween fans are probably the most pretentious and annoying fans of a longrunning horror franchise. They actually believe the original is a meditation on the nature of evil, or something. So a lot of them justify the terrible sequels (through what I believe has to be nostalgia blindness because everything they hate about the Zombie films is present in every sequel starting at Halloween II. They ruined the mystery of Michael, revealed his motive, turned the suspense thriller into a gorey slasher where pointless idiots get killed the whole time) when Halloween 5 and 6 especially do everything they despise about the Zombie film.
Not liking the movie is fine, but the Halloween fans declare that “the franchise is ruined!!!” every single time there’s a new movie. So just ignore them while they praise John Carpenter’s genius for a character and a franchise he doesn’t give a shit about and only made back then as a cheapo movie to make some box office dollars.

Zombie wanted to try and do Michael Myers: Portrait of a Serial Killer, but because the characters are named Michael Myers or Laurie Strode, we hate their interpretations here. Like if the family had been changed from being named Myers, it might've been a interesting change. Similar to how Leatherface in his remake wasn't from the Sawyer family, but from the Hewlett family, and some people like that change.

I always forget Ken Foree (Joe Grizzly) was in this. If you guys have never seen the original dawn of the dead, he was one of the main protagonists in that one. Classic horror movie, I'd recommend it even if it is a bit aged.

      Hell Yeah!!
      He's Joe Grizzly, Bitch!
Please allow me to add a little to your Dawn of the Dead comment.
If you have not seen the original Dawn of the Dead and you are getting in to horror, or haven't got to it yet...please, find that movie and watch it right now :)
Seriously, the Zach Snyder version (2004), is great but after you have seen the original. You will look back on it, as a great moment, in your movie watching career :)
I should not be raising the expectations of younger fans but the movie is a must.
The most important thing, is to watch it alone, or in a small, quiet group. Watch it all at once.
It's one of those movies, that needs your full attention and immersion.
If you treat it well, it will reward you. The effects, or look of the Zombies, did not turn out as well as originally intended. Don't let that distract you.
The Gore Zone of the 80's was on it's way but not perfected yet but there are still some great, gore moments! The movie is more than that. It's about the characters, the location and situation!!
That is what I Love about it.
      Cheers from Canada
      and remember:
      'ZOMBIE'S R4 LIFE' :)

Anyone can do what Rob Zombie does using gore, it's takes a genius to scare you with almost no blood and fire people who be watching it and getting scared over 40 yrs later.

And the people who say that are wrong, because I hate the original Halloween and enjoy the remake. So, the way I see it, remakes allow people to have a different version to potentially like. Honestly, remakes are a no lose situation. If a person loves the original, but hates the remake, then they can ignore the remake. If they hate the original, but love the remake, then they have their version to enjoy. If they love both then they get to enjoy multiple versions. And if someone hates both they can just ignore them.
