It was the Sheriff that said the good scare line, not Dr. Loomis. I misremembered.
Fun Fact: The nurse at the beginning (nurse Marion Chambers) is the same actress who played the same role in the first two Halloweens, Nancy Stephens.
You said you'd watch the Producer's Cut of Part 6. Are you still going to?
@@drewg5637 l
@@davidmeadows5627 Maybe next year.
@@YouMeTheMovies LOL! That's what you said last year. I'm starting to think that some elite group is paying you not to review that movie because its explicit plot hits too close to home for them!
Jamie yelling for MICHAEL will forever be such an iconic moment to me.
I agree. Great line and she delivered it perfectly.
facts 💯👍🏿👍🏿
Yeah gave me chills
Still gives me the bumps
when I first seen the preview for this movie and they had Jamie standing at the gate yelling "MICHAEL!!!" with that music going I was like "I just HAVE to see this!" I wanted to see how it turned out... it didn't disappoint in the slightest!
The nurse at the beginning of the movie was the same nurse from the first movie that went with Loomis to get Michael at the psych ward and she was also in part 2 she was the one that told him that Lori strode was Michael's sister
Dose the new trilogy make this movie not Canon anymore because isn't the nurse in them even though she was killed in this movie. And her son is now a daughter
*Does.
Duh…
And she also dies in Halloween Kills 😅
@@GoobiesFunZone The Blumhouse trilogy renders all previous films in the series except the very first film non canon. Then again, this series has had several timelines already so it turns into a ''Choose your own adventure'' type of horror series.
This is one of my favorite Halloween movies. I’m surprised it’s not more popular with fans.
This was definitely imo the definition of a "popcorn" movie, it was light and fun to watch from start to end.
It's gonna be once everyone watches "halloween ends" oof...
It used to be. Time wore on, the shine wore off. Many people see H20 as a Scream ripoff, which I get the similar vibe, but it's better than Scream 2, 3, and 5.
It would probably stand better as someone's favorite if Halloween: Resurrection didn't mess it up
Jamie Lee Curtis didn't like it either.
It's crazy how this movie was the 20th anniversary of the first movie and now it's 24 years old . So it's anniversary is longer than it's anniversary for Halloween 1978
That typically happens as time goes by
Most Halloween fans consider this the last one. Nobody really thinks of Halloween: Resurrection as canon due to the fact it ruins this perfect ending of Laurie getting the win.
This was Amazing!!!! My favorite Halloween movie
@ksfhhnfan That's redundant since it does and nothing anyone says can change that.
Exactly. It’s H, H2 and H20. I think you could say H4-6 almost could have happened too but I suppose there’s a few bits of dialogue in H20 which make it difficult.
Flash-forward to now after having seen "Halloween Ends" and without going into detail, I feel that way about the 2018 "Halloween" movie. That should have been it without the sequels.
@@j2174 actually 4 thru 6 is canon. There is a scene about her daughter brought up where she cries, but it was cut out of the movie
Watching H2O in the theater when I was 12 and it being my first Halloween film at the theater was so fun and nostalgic! When she chops his head off at the end the whole crowd clapped and cheered. It was such a good ending!
Scream 3 for me was nostalgic in the theater especially since at the time it was supposed to the end of the trilogy.
Halloween (1978), Halloween II (1981), and Halloween H2O: 20 Years Later (1998) are my definitive Michael Myers and Laurie Strode as siblings trilogy.
It's why I hated that re-write in the latest series that wipes out the 81 movie. Without that, even though she's ultimately right, Laurie is still truly crazy an paranoid to believe Myers would return for her. Him hunting her down to the hospital gives credence to her fear.
100%
same for me
Same here for me 100% 😎😎
This lady's reaction is hysterical! I remember seeing this in the theater when it came out and I was so scared, my hands were all sweaty and my friend tried to scare me too. It was awesome.
This is my favorite incarnation of Laurie Strode. She is truly "the same woman" we see in the 1978 and 1981 movies, but grown up and shaped by the previous experience. She feels authentic, both as a character and as a real person. I love Jamie Lee Curtis, and she can't do any wrong, but the most recent incarnation of Laurie feels too much like a Linda Hamilton/Sarah Connor knock-off. It's played very well, but doesn't feel authentic to the character.
I love H20. The series should have ended with this film. The thing I wish they would have done was, since they were retconning some films, that they would have kept Jamie Lloyd and her sister alive, since I really love Halloween 4, and had her, along with the help of her sister, discover Strode alive and reconnecting with her, rather than having Strode have a son. I don't mind Josh Hartnett being in the film. Hartnett and Danielle Harris are about the same age, so they could have become friends, but the idea of Curtis, Harris, and Ellie Cornell sharing the screen together in "the final" Halloween film, that would have been bad ass!
Also while your at it, they should have brought back Lindsay from the original Halloween in this. And also bring back Tommy with Kara so they could help Laurie end Michael. That would have completed the original trilogy and end all Michael Myers stories once and for all.
Thanks for reacting to this. I rank this as second only to the original. And, yes, the car that Janet Leigh had was the same as the one she drove in Psycho, even down to the same license plate. The other nods to Psycho were the music cue that played as she walked to her car, and her character’s name, Norma, after Norma Bates, Norman Bates’ mother.
THIS! 👆👆👆.......All of THIS!👆👆👆
also many don't pick it up right away but as she walks to her car, the music shifts to the music from Psycho (the part where Marion is driving, not the slasher shower scene tune)
"The drains in the girls shower rooms are clogged again"
@@redoz9768 How did I never catch that before?!! 😲❤️
@@redoz9768 This one is actually a double-nod: yes, to Psycho, but also to the movie Carrie. Ms. Tate's name references both the movie Carrie and Sharon Tate, victim of the Manson murders.
“You know it’s Halloween. I guess everyone’s entitled to one good scare.” Was actually said by Sheriff Brackett
The woman giving Laurie some motherly advice is Janet Leigh, Jamie Lee Curtis's real life mother. She played the victim in the famous shower scene in Psycho, and here you see her drive the 1957 Ford from the movie with the Psycho theme playing in the background.
My favorite part about the Janet Leigh cameo scene is the psycho theme playing in the background
And her mentioning the girl's showers as a reference to her death scene
Plus its nice that Janet leigh was in a movie with her actual daughter Jamie Lee Curtis.
@@joeyallain8364Yeah it's a nice touch.
"How the fuck does he come back for the next one?!" You actually mentioned that in this video! lmao
Absolutely love this one! My second fav of the franchise, after the original. Jamie Lee Curtis serves, the casting overall is superb, the post-Scream '90s vibes are perfect, the setting is unique, and the Stan Winston mask scarred me, as a child. Not to mention the epic finale, that still hasn't been topped.
“California. I hear they know how to party. In the city. Of LA.” 🤣 first genuine belly laugh of the day.
😲 Halloween is NOT an overrated holiday!!! It's underrated if anything.
Yeah it seems like more and more each year people are neglecting Halloween 🎃 my favorite holiday
I grew up in the 90's. Everyone in my town dressed up, people didn't turn off those porch lights until at least midnight, everything was decorated. Now, no one has a soul year-round. Every fifth house or apartment decorates. No one trick or treats. 😭
Especially since Christmas seems to be overshadowing it year after year.
@@daytonsouthall1137 that's because people look at it like it's demonic now I do miss them halloween day's tho
@@mr44mag I think it's because people look at like it's demonic now time's has change
You’re right, that is the car from Psycho. I like to think that this movie takes place in an alternate reality where Marian Crane never met Norman Bates, stole the 40k and changed her identity. Just that line about we all having secrets.
I…I like this idea 👀
I love this idea too. Speaking of connecting both franchises did you know there's a theory that Donald Pleasence's Sam Loomis is the same Sam Loomis from the original Psycho?
@@jasonvoorheescampblood Did he marry Marion, then?
That was the car from Psycho. The actress who played the woman in Psycho who was killed in the shower was Jamie Lee Curtis Mom in real life (Janet Leigh) shes also in this movie as Norma....get it....Norman Bates.
Yes, actress Nancy Stephens played nurse Marion Chambers, assistant to Dr Sam Loomis, in the first two Halloween movies, reprises the role in this chapter of the series. Though her character does die at Michael's hands in this film, because of all the retcons they've done to this franchise over the past 25 years, they bring Nancy/Marion back once again in the 2021 installment "Halloween Kills."
I think Halloween Kills was 2021
This timeline is the ending I like for the franchise. 1978, 2 and H20 together make for a great trilogy. This one gets too much hate on the costume but I still liked it.
This timeline and the new one are great imo. 4, 5 and 6 are just guilty pleasures.
That ladies and gentlemen should have been the final movie. this was a perfect ending.
The nurse in the intro was the same actress and character from the first film who got carjacked by Michael when she and Loomis went to the mental hospital where Michael was kept.
23:23 is one of the most terrifying shots.
"he just skirts away... and now she's gonna have to change her name again." LOL!!!!!
Congrats to Mrs. Movies for sniffing out kind of how Michael will return.
Thrust your purple headed warrior into her love pudding??? Can I borrow that, it's gold. Shakespeare in his best day wishes he could have written something so eloquent :)
It's from the movie The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear. I recommend watching their reaction.
@@Rocket1377 haha, I haven’t seen that movie in so long, I had no idea! Will need to give it a rewatch! Thanks
The kid who plays a young Alan Parrish in Jumanji.
On Halloween H20
That was The Night She Fights Back
Halloween(1978), Halloween 2(1981), & Halloween H20 are my Favorites
The lady who's house was broken into by Michael in the beginning is the nurse from the first movie.
Halloween can never be overrated. Now Christmas on the other hand is overrated. Stores started setting stuff up literally at the start of October. It’s not even November and Christmas crap is out.
Because stores don't put out Halloween decorations right after 4th of July? All the major ones have that. Valentines stuff goes out by the 8th of January.
Mr. Movies said that the "entitled to one good scare" was Loomis' line but it wasn't. It was the cop, the dad of Laurie's friend.
Also, note that Laurie's mom said something about the SHOWERS being clogged/broken..that was cute, referring to "Psycho."
I admire how Jamie Lee Curtis became more famous she still show up in so many Halloween movies. She’s really cares about this franchise.
It's also one of her iconic roles. She is thankful because Halloween launch her career
If I am not mistake when she won the Oscar she thanks Halloween fans !!
Random fact but Charlie, is the little kid that plays the younger version of Allen in the original Jumanji. They always use some of the same score that was in the first Scream, The scenes when Neve Campbell is running through the field is the same score they use when Micheal is Chasing John and Molly
well both films were released under Dimension
I thought the music was when Tatum is getting attacked in the garage. I guess the music could be the same in both scenes.
Waiting for them to FINALLY watch Halloween 3. I wanna see The Mrs. get totally thrown for a loop with how different it is.
Also, saw Halloween Ends last night. H20 is a far superior ending. Ends is such a friggin' waste.
Ends sucked big time.
Everyone celebrating the new trilogy and I’m just like…I’m good I’ve had H20 for quite a while
2 of the new trilogy are shite
Same!!!
After Halloween Ends I’m going to just keep pretending H20 is the true ending.
I wouldn't say people are celebrating the new Trilogy...
@@bpo1975 it’s got a massive fan base that are just unhappy with the 3rd film, I thought all 3 were bad
The car Janet Leigh drove in this was the same car she drove in Psycho.
Hopefully H20 gets more love!
People always bashing this movie I understand why tho
I didn't know people bashed it as it was incredibly popular when it came out.
@@ChadSimpson-ft7yz Many think it's to much like Scream though I don't agree and yes the mask issue is a problem and the score was Frankensteined together but I like the score and the movie works for me and it's way better than the Blumhouse films!
@@entertainmentwizard2703 Mask issue?
@@ChadSimpson-ft7yz There are several masks used in H20 including a CGI mask, they changed the mask like half way through principle photography after a screening of daily's!
3:50 Enters the house it's bright outside
4:34 Comes back out 5 hours later!
My favorite slasher trilogy: Halloween, Halloween II and H20
Josh Hartnett's wacky haircut days. He even had it in the movie "O."
It feels so strange to now be over twenty years since this, remembering the publicity around this 20th anniversary and Jamie Lee Curtis returning to the role.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt wasn't taken seriously for a long time. He was seen as the goofy kid on "Third Rock from the Sun" until about "Brick" in 2006 or "500 Days of Summer."
A house near my old workplace had a skeleton or a mannequin with a skull dressed up in a window year round.
believe he also had it in The Faculty which came out in '98 as well
I was just watching O josh hartnett was running the 90s
In a lot of ways O is darker than this Halloween movie.
The nurse at the beginning was from Halloween II. Halloween 4 is still my favorite sequel by far. H20 was great too though and Halloween 2018.
I ❤️ Y'all!!! "He's light on his feet, too" and "He's doing one handed pull-ups" made my night! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️🤦🏾♂️
"How the fuck does he come back for the next one?!"
Ohhh...just you wait...it's a real fuckin doozy!
This is my personal favourite Halloween movie. It was on tv every October when I was growing up so I have a lot of nostalgia for it. I also love this version of Laurie the most and I love Josh Hartnett and LL Cool J 🤣 love the setting of this movie too, changes it up a bit. And that “MICHAEL!” Is iconic
From what I remember, this was supposed to be the end of the series. BUT it did so well they decided to make another one & had to figure how to bring him back after beheading him. You gotta watch the next one to know they brought him back. :)
The nurse was the same nurse that was in the car with Loomis when they drove up to the asylum and Michael first escaped. She was driving.
She was also the one that brought up Laurie being Michael’s sister in the sequel
Love the way the movie uses the opening song to tie it directly to the end of Halloween II, which uses the same song.
Not sure if someone already mentioned this but the nurse in the opening scene of H2O is the same nurse that was driving the station wagon in the beginning of Halloween 1978.
The mask was a Shatner mask. It wasn't turned inside out though. The sideburns were pulled off and the eyelids were cut off then it was painted white.
I had this tape growing up, watched it so many times. Might explain some things..lol
"The drains in the girls shower rooms are clogged again" - Nice Psycho easter egg from Janet Leigh.
I love the vibe of the girl. She's that kind of friend that is willing to kick somebody's ass just to defend you.
"LL cool J's my guy"
"what?"
"huh?"
lol
So iconic having her mom join her in this.
The guy who plays John's friend Charlie was also in the 1996 Jumanji movie, where his character was a young Alan Parrish. :D
Michael Myers… The hero we need right now. 😛☺️
I have always went to Halloween H2O to this day I always thought that woman from the beginning looked familiar I blanked on her till now, isn't she the same nurse that drove the station wagon with Dr. Loomis in the first Halloween 1978 movie?
What a segue! I almost spit out the water I was drinking when you went from talking about H20 to talking about the Coldest water bottles. Amazing.
the mrs. reactions are priceless ! starting a reaction channel was the smart thing to do brother ! cheers
This is the first Halloween film I saw at the cinema. I don't remember much about it though as I haven't seen it since.
It is the seventh instalment in the Halloween franchise but Ignores the Jamie Lloyd story arc of the previous three instalments.
Nancy Stephens was the nurse at the beginning. She was the nurse in Halloween 78 and Halloween 2 1981.
For me this was actually my first Halloween movie I bought on VHS, and what got me comfortable with the series, so Id definitely say it's in my top 5 in what order not sure but definitely there.
"Everyone is entitled to one good scare" was Sheriff Brackett's.
9:16 i love this 4rth wall break xD
i was working on a page from my book, the moment i looked up after the 'i know that they know how to party' the moment the mrs looked in the camera xD i cracked up xD
The little girl also did a part on Charmed as little prue!
Mr. and Mrs. movies, i love yall's Halloween reactions and i recently binged all of Ur previous Halloween reactions. yall are awesome.
If I had to rank it out of the 3 I’d have to go with H1, H20, H2. Out of the series I’d rank this #4
Cool reaction as always Mr. & Mrs. Movies, you both take care and have a great weekend
Nurse Chambers was the nurse in 1978's Halloween.. she was smoking in 78 too.. she had the Rabbit in Red cigarette matches.. actually she's in four of the Halloween movies.
Awesome reaction, the fourth one and this one is my personal favorites in the franchise.
I love the scene with Jamie and her mom. And the car she was buried in Psycho. Great scene
Just a couple small corrections: the “everyone’s entitled to one good scare” line is Sheriff Brackett’s, not Dr. Loomis 😊 Not sure if it’s been mentioned by someone else already or if Mr. just misspoke lol but thought I’d take a sec to clarify
Also Laurie was cut around her left tricep area in the original, not her leg 😊
I’m just now at that part of the reaction but I’m having a great time watching so far!!
"California....I hear they know how to party"
That was gold and I loved it 😂😂😂
I don't remember exactly how they explained it, but that was not Michael's head that she chopped off
In my head cannon, it's Halloween 1&2 + H20. That's it. The new ones are ok, but not as good imo.
Yeah, overall 1, 2, & H20 was the best trilogy.
I suppose they will reboot the franchise again going forward (sigh..).
The new ones are pretty awful although the first new one wasn't too bad although I like this one better for the character development as I thought Halloween 2018 just had victims like cannon fodder.
first time viewer, this happens to be my fav halloween film, and youve got yourself a new subscriber!
It’s been 25 years and I’ve only just realised this movie just doesn’t bother to explain a) how Michael survived the fire in H2 and where he’s been for 20 years 😂
i didnt notice til recently but when hes trying the keys to get into the gate and finally does as Laurie pulls john and molly then shuts it and they have their staredown, if you watch michaels eyes he eyes here face up and down recognizing her. pretty fkn creepy
18:18 I didnt hear a NO
you two love each other ooooohhh lol
18:13 😂😂
Mrs Movies was like ooh
That was the perfect ending for this franchise. Laurie chopped his head off and then they finally play the theme. PERFECT
Halloween 2 counts in this continuity too cuz that’s where the sibling relationship is revealed
Wouldn't she know it's her brother from the first one?
"Halloween Water" had me wheezing 🤣
This movie is so underrated, I was really disappointed when they retconned it.
Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later was partially inspired by the resurgence of the slasher film genre following the success of Scream, which ironically came out one year after the box office failure of the sixth Halloween film, Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, which was distributed by Dimension Films, the same studio that did Scream, and was seen as evidence that audiences were no longer interested in slasher films. The story for H20 was co-written by Scream screenwriter Kevin Williamson, who went uncredited. H20 erased the previous three Halloween movies as if they never happened - Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, and Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers - along with the storyline of Jamie Lloyd, Laurie Strode's daughter played by Danielle Harris, and picked up the story twenty years after the 1982 sequel Halloween II left off. However, after the box office failure of Halloween: Resurrection, the continuity that began in H20 was itself erased and retconned by the new Halloween trilogy - 2018's Halloween, 2021's Halloween Kills, and 2022's Halloween Ends - which erased everything from Halloween II through Halloween: Resurrection and picked up where the original 1978 Halloween left off.
Always baffles me how studios look at things, "yeah no one wants slashers anymore" after releasing a horrendously bad movie. No, people want slashers, just good ones.
Also, it has the prominent Scream score.
17:43 That was the car in Psycho, PLUS if you listen closely the BGM at that moment is the same one used when she was driving the car in that movie. Also the line "everyone is entitled to one good scare" wasn't from Dr. Loomis, it was the sheriff.
The Myers mask from the original movie was a Don Post Studios 1975 Captain Kirk mask. They painted it white made the eyes bigger and spray painted the hair brown.
I always thought the hair was Michael's own hair.
Nope Nick Castle had shoulder length hair which made it look a bit longer then the mask hair, but for the most part all the hair is the masks hair
I absolutely love this movie second favourite outside the original. Also if they never made anymore movies after this one, this would have been the perfect ending to the franchise.
I agree. At the time, I figured it was the end. Even Halloween 2018 would’ve been a good ending. I’m disappointed they made two more, just like they did after Halloween IV, which ALSO would’ve been a good ending, lol.
He got Laurie in the arm, then she fell and fractured her bone on her foot
I’ve been waiting for this reaction for so long! Thanks, guys!
I wish they made more movies like this particular one, where college kids are all going on field trip but than some stay behind to have the whole school to themselves only to find out that there’s a killer among them.
Lovely singing voice, Mrs.
First Halloween I seen in theaters too lol
The nurse at the start of this was in Halloween 1&2 she was in scenes with loomis.
The PSCHO reference was GOLD
Howdy folks good video, I like y'all's reaction to these videos, Michael Myers is the next level of horror, I don't know if y'all remember a tv show or even seen this tv show, called grizzly Adams, the indan in grizzly Adams eventually plays Michael Myers, favorite kill, lops off Michael Myers head, Favorite scare, standing in the dark, the dark and the white mask, always scared me, happy Halloween, God bless folks
If it wasn’t for resurrection this timeline would’ve been one of the best.
