  • Hi everyone!
Welcome to the next video in the ‪@TheArmyPainter‬ series! Today I'm bringing you another Death Guard tutorial!
This video is for more experienced hobbyists. It involves an airbrush, hairspray and patience. The effect yields great results but requires you to build upon layers of weathering that come together to look very realistic.
For those of you that love that grimey and battered Warhammer look, this video is for you!
If you have any questions just pop them in the comments below!

Excellent video and channel. I'm currently painting up a load of death guard tanks for the new epic game and this scheme will be great to try and paint on a tiny scale!

Great video. Thanks for the lessons with hairspray!
I’m using Army Painter air and can’t get any decent coverage with it. May I ask what needle size and pressure you’re using? I’ve tried using 0.4mm and 25psi and it just seems to cover very little and also spatter a lot.

Simply gorgeous! ❤ Really tempts me to paint my Age of Darkness set in DG colours...
What I would consider for my own project would be adding some small copper elements that would allow for verdigris weathering. That would contrast nicely with the orange rust, adding another layer of interest.
Man, I love your videos because they instantly make my hobby gears turn!

Copper for wires + patina is my advice

looks nice and dirty, perfect for deathguard, the heresy color sheme is just great, great end result
but I wouldn't want my models to smell like hairspray.
Why not use chipping medium? it is not that much more expensive than hairspray, while using alot of Citadel paints???
also to much pressure on your compressor, your airbrush keeps spitting paint on the model

      1. I've just given it a good sniff. Doesn't smell like hairspray.
      2. I can use chipping medium sure but I can use hairspray as well. Maybe one day I'll do another tutorial using chipping medium if you ask me nicely and if I get the time. Just another tool in the arsenal innit.
      3. I had a slight blockage at the start of the video that I sorted out. Which was why it was spitting. But I think it 'spat' at one point in the video and wasn't an issue after that.

@@medheadful do you react this way to all comments that re not just "great stuff" "so amazing" "incredible"? With justifications for the criticisim, but no word to me saying how great it looks? You will get depressed very fast if you take comments that are not just positive so personal. But why is criticism, especially in our hobby, seen as bad? Without us all giving tips or talking about what can be better (which doesn't make the actual state of the model bad), how can we all grow? I hate it when I post pictures of my minis in my friends group and I wish to get oppinions of them to see where I could improve, but all I get is "so great" and such, while I know there are things I can improve.
(I am from Germany, maybe the hairspray I came across was more perfumed.)

@LordBelakor my dude. Its all good my friend. I didn't see your comments as critism and just responding to your points as stated. I saw your comments flash up as I was taking a break and you asked a series of questions so just responded. I will try and respond to everyone at some point but if I was constantly on my phone I wouldn't get any work done. Just responded to you at that moment because I was taking a break at that moment. If you want to ask me further questions about this video then send me a dm on Instagram. I'll voice note you back and we can discuss it that way. I personally don't think any of my points were overly harsh and just responding matter of fact. If you want to discuss it further though send me a dm on insta. Its all good baby. Let's chill and be friends

@@medheadful I am fine, and then also will appologize, as I missread your comment as a way to defend, maybe I am to used to youtubers not handling criticism well so I read it in that way
