What an awesome couple of years Patricia had. 2018 Escape from Dannemora 2019 The Act Two phenomenal performances she gave. If they were released in theaters, she would have won an Oscar for at least one of those films, especially for Escape from Dannemora.
It's just my opinion, but personally, I have ever felt (because of how well Patricia and Joey did on The Act) that Patricia Arquette and Joey King are the Karl Malden and Michael Douglas of today (Patricia being the Malden, Joey being the Douglas); the reason why I say this is because of the father-son relationship that Malden and Douglas enjoyed from 1972-76 on The Streets of San Francisco (ABC police procedural of the 70s; Richard Hatch was in for the final go from 1976-77), and I have ever felt that Patricia and Joey had a similar mother-daughter relationship on The Act as actresses.
Trivia: Margaret Qualley is so intriguing and extraordinary in the game Death Stranding. I have not seen Fosse/Verdon yet, and I expect that I’ll be thrilled.
I think it was because, even in a moment that was "all hers" she chose to mention her beautiful sister and the trans community and to advocate for trans rights no matter where she is. I think his "laughter" was more a smile that said "she's so amazing and there she goes again-always working for equal rights..."
dear television academy: fire the person that keeps hiring the commentators that speak after an actor wins. it's annoying as fuck, especially when they're about to come up and give a heartfelt speech about a recently deceased family member. just have them give us the info on the actor, the extra commentary is not needed. thx

As much as I loved Clarkson's performance, Arquette was superior. If you haven't watched The Act yet, please give it a try. Arquette was great in there and Joey King surprised me.
Why is she saying her "sister" Alexis, when Alexis began presenting himself as a man when he got sick, and his own brother David stated that Alexis was gender curious and sometimes felt like a man or woman. So I don't know why she has to go on stage and carry-on about he was her sister when he was clearly living as a man.
She was absolutely phenomenal in The Act. Truly an amazing actress.
Awww Joey was so proud of Patricia
Patricia Arquette is an incredible female actress, she carried the Act and her performance in it was chilling. Lots of respect to her.
Just binged the act in 2021 and i came to youtube to make sure she had better won the golden globe for The Act man she was incredible.
Patricia is the best!!! Wow! What a speech!!!!!
Amazing speech!! Patricia is just outstanding inside and out. And Joey....wow, what a princess. They are the perfect mother/daughter combo. Xx
What an awesome couple of years Patricia had.
2018 Escape from Dannemora
2019 The Act
Two phenomenal performances she gave. If they were released in theaters, she would have won an Oscar for at least one of those films, especially for Escape from Dannemora.
Luckily for her she has a much deserved Oscar.
Gosh Joey is so frickin cute! Patricia is amazing!! Joey is so happy for her omg 🥺🥺🥺
❤️❤️❤️ I'm so sorry Patricia experienced this loss, but am so grateful she's shining a light. Love is love. 😘🌈
All people are INDEED people, no less
Beautiful speech ♥️ Rest In Peace Alexis Arquette you were special and you were heard ♥️

Truly courageous, powerful, and loving
How amazing that Patricia Arquette was nominated for both Lead Actress and Supporting Actress for which she won.
So well deserved👏🏆
and her social activism is so authentic- from the call for fairer wages for women when she won her Oscar and now for trans-rights- a great human being
margarey qualley is so underrated. She is amazing. 🙌
she has a good future I think

I can’t believe Eliza Scanlen didn’t get a nomination.
For what? Sharp objects?
@@alexwest2945 yes.
Her part in Sharp Objects doesn't come along often nor her stunning performance. I hope she continues to get roles like that.
I'm so glad she got it but I'm pissed Joey didn't get an award she was outstanding
same siz I would die being on stage with the Game of Thrones cast
Strange that the two lead contenders have Munchhausen by proxy
Well deserved
Well deserved ❤
She's always been my Hollywood chill chick
Golden Globe 2020.
Yes indeed (and I personally believe that Joey King has at least as much the chance as Patricia Arquette)!
@@Adamdow95 Whoever does, que sera sera, but they are all three deserving.
Adam Dow you were right!
@@basildabbah6919 I know I was right. Because I saw it happen!

She's great actress.
RIP Alexis 💔
Yes!!!!!!;;
A Nightmare On Elm Street 3
Yeah! Who would have known...? :D
Touching speech and her boyfriend isn't even listening.
we only saw a second, I think he's fine.
She won emmy for portraying the worst mother and oscar for the other way around.
she can do it all !
Joey should make more like this and less like the kissing booth
why is that dude laughing
ikr i saw that too

That's her husband. He looks hella proud of her, beaming ear to ear.
Can we edit out Dan Spilo please?
Also why did they play Mother by Florence + The Machine when she won??
she should have mentioned that Gypsy Rose was in prison at the time for defending herself and that she got away but ended up having a long sentence

2:55 why is this weirdo laughing?
I loved her even more then I did, after this speech! I am a trans woman by the way!
Two Munchausen by proxy mothers fighting for an award that year lol
Vera should’ve won.
I love Vera, but Patricia deserved this all the way. Watch The Act if you haven't yet, it's excellent!
I watched Vera and I am now watching Patricia's performance and I have to say that, for me, she deserves this more.
Patricia Arquette carried the Act. Her performance in every scene was chilling, I would suggest watching it and then re-thinking this comment.
They persecuted Christ and few mourned for Him.
Joey should of won.
