Her character is really well-written; and she nailed it! GoT fans were mad, I understand; but if you have seen Ozark, you'll know how brilliant Julia was in both seasons.

Look, Julia was great, I have seen the show, and I won't deny that. But I have also seen all seasons of Game of thrones, and all I know is that Lena's Emmy has been long overdue, and this was her last chance to win for playing Cersei. Not awarding Sophie, Maisie and Christie was something predictable because while they have delivered great performances, those performances don't mount up to, Lena's Cersei who was just..... Terrific.
Lena deserved it for previous season, in season 8 she barely did anything. Not her fault, it's the fault of benioff and weiss's writing but Julia gave the better performance and deserved the win.
Just watched Ozark season 4 episode 7 and I will bet my salary she will win again. Watching the last 5 minutes of her performance left me emotionally shaking and in awe. She is truly a gifted actress.

However, season 1 is on Netflix now. She is phenomenal in this show too. Her role doesn't have a lot of screen time, but when she's on.....damn! And the last episode.....holy crap!!!
When I first saw her character, I was completely hooked. The line where she screams "you're going to have to kill me", was delivered like an artists masterpiece.... It shook the hell outta me that someone could say something so profound in a guttural and tear jerking manner, with menace, desperation, & controlled aggression. It was an insanely breathtaking and grief-stricken performance. I'll never forget Ruth Langmore the character. She genuinely won my heart, love and respect.

She’s so good. Watching Ozark, you never see her acting. You feel you’re watching an authentic human being. Right from the beginning in Season 1, she reaches right out of the screen and grabs you. The tendency might be to overdue the “hillbilly” persona in an attempt to sell the character to the viewer but she never did that. You can’t help but watch her when she’s on the screen. She’s also very lucky to a part of a superb cast and such a well written and directed show. Her scenes with Jason Bateman are a master class in character. Kudos to whoever cast her in the role. Pure genius. She deserved this award.
She's the most extraordinary actress to come out of the last decade at least. Her screen presence is electrifying. Give it 10 years she'll be a household name. Give it 20 she'll be recognised as one of the greatest of her time if not beyond. Her rise will be as effortless as it is now predictable and unavoidable. I tell you one thing, the casting director and writers deserve a pay rise. Ben for season 3 was some of the best acting I’ve seen in a show for years. I honestly don’t think there is one actor in that show that isn’t pulling their weight. They are all world class performers 👏🏻
When Tom Pelphrey (Ben) was being committed (again) and was saying, "no, no, no, no...", I turned to my wife and said, "this dude is putting on an Emmy winning performance!". The next few episodes did nothing but cement my feelings. If that actor doesn't win an award for his work in Season 3, I'd love to see the performance of who does. :-)

I came in late to the Ozark party. Just watched S1-3 in early 2022, and then finished S4 about 3 weeks ago. My husband and I were so shaken by the very last scene of S3 that we purposely waited to start S4. Julia Garner is nothing short of AMAZING!!! Ruth Langmore is one character I won’t soon forget. Julia Garner is easily my favorite actress. She played Ruth amazingly in Ozark, and I recently watched the Netflix miniseries Waco and was blown away by her in that one as well. She can play a wide range of characters, and nails each one. She deserves this award ten times over!

I came in late to the Ozark party. Just watched S1-3 in early 2022, and then finished S4 about 3 weeks ago. My husband and I were so shaken by the very last scene of S3 that we purposely waited to start S4. Julia Garner is nothing short of AMAZING!!! Ruth Langmore is one character I won’t soon forget.
