i really hope Luka becomes Adrien’s Alya (where he helps Adrien make excuses to transform and such). it would be a big twist to the fans considering we wanted Nino to know Adrien’s identity and be his Alya (his reveal in Rocketear, though, no). i find it comforting at the thought of Luka helping Adrien and maybe even letting Adrien find his feelings for Marinette
yesss. luka seems more mature than others and would be a great help for adrien. Nino is a great dude but he's more like a bestfriend while luka can be a big bro for him
For me, as a teenager Marinette and Adrian’s age, I really loved the theme of wishmaker, not knowing what you want to be when you are older is something everyone my age worries about, and showing the characters in the show struggling with the same question made them a lot more relatable and fleshed out.
Yes I agree. I am 15 years old so I have to start thinking about what I want to be and it's really hard. I also don't think Marinette's indecision was out of character because it's actually very relatable even though I didn't expect it at first.
In my school you have to pick what you're going to see in a career school at the age of 14 (8th grade) at 12 (6th grade) you have to take a career class also if these don't say much you pick to go to the career school or stay in the normal school at 16 (highschool year after freshman (I'm just going into freshman) for the next year or for when your 17 (year before senior cause ye) so yeah the school stretches it super long even though you probably forgot the tour at 8th grade and what you picked to see at 8th grade because I had to deal with covid so my class didn't get to tour the school so now we picked the places to tour at 16 or never
Same. I'm 14 (soon to be 15 in 2 months) and I am literally so confused about what I really wanna do in the future. I'm somewhat in between Mari and Adrien, having interest in various activities and not knowing what to actually do. Idek if I'll go for something from the choices I have rn. They were really relatable in this episode
I’m in high school. Future careers gets brought up a lot and everyone seems to be on different levels of readiness. Some have their whole life planned out even to university and beyond; knowing exactly which schools and fields to go into. Some have a clear dream they want to pursue. Others are unsure but have a few interests, while the rest have no clue what to do. It’s really a mixed bag. I want to be an animator, but there are so many other interests I have and want to do. Director, cinematographer, artist, musician, editor, author, VFX artist, illustrator, screenwriter etc. I related with Marinette wanting to do it all.
@@soscarlettitwasss I am 13 turning 14 this year. I've wanted to be an artist for so long and there are so many types, drawing, photographer, graphic design and even barista. I want to do it all, but at the same time I have no idea what to do.
First isn't it pretty concerning how Chat Noir never made a SINGLE joke the entire episode despite all the funny events that happened??? Ouch what are they doing to him? I also really loved how Ladybug tried guessing Chat Noir's childhood dream. It shows her true perception of him. She sees him as someone super selfless and courageous who'd risk his own life to save others like a firefighter. And as someone goofy and playful like magician. As for Marinette's indecisiveness, it made sense to me. It's a nice contrast with Adrien who doesn't have a clue about what he wants to do for himself while Marinette is confused because she wants to DO IT ALL. They truly are opposites. And I am not really sure if it's out of character for Chat Noir. He just got distracted and sad at the wrong time. With how much this season have been traumatising him, I personally don't blame him at all. Other than that, I am really scared for Luka. Yeah I know he had "good intentions" for lying but what he did was still wrong. He's the only one in the current timeline who knows the identity of both Ladybug and Chat Noir. The next time he gets akumatised, it's game over for everyone. Especially since he hasn't proved he can break out of akumatision like Alya or even has an anti-akumatision charm. This reveal is definitely gonna have serious consequences.
@@yaradoom7605 That would be great but I highly doubt it. Not only because Adrien and Luka aren't very close friends in general but also because Adrien and Marinette are different characters so it wouldn't make sense for Adrien to have confidant like Marinette did since his character arc for this season has largely been about isolation. Plus if Adrien were to get a confidant, it should be Nino in my opinion. It will be nice development for him from Rocketear where he's shown to be bad at keeping secrets.
@@lilymadkins3558 Agreed Nino needs that development alongside Alya, though that depends whether Adrien will trust Nino after he exposed him and Alya so blatantly. I do think Adrien and Marinette will get closer this season tbh but not romantically.
@@KavinCatastrophe That's exactly why I think will be great for Nino to get character development in that way. He has to grow at some point right? This can easily be a good opportunity for him. Plus Nino was Adrien's friend since season 1 meanwhile Luka and Adrien had like 2 interactions lasting 30 seconds in the entirety of 4 seasons and more than 80 episodes. Luka being Adrien's confidant just wouldn't have the same impact storywise. Not sure if Luka knows where even Adrien's house is.
from childhood his parents were never pleased with who he was as a person, he just wanted to grow up to be accepted by them. no wonder he wants ladybug’s love so bad since shes the only one who accepts him for who he truly is. poor kitty
Everything that's happening with Adrien rn is really setting up for his character arc. It may seem out of character to let Wishmaker hit him but how do we know it's out of character? We've never seen him this down/depressed before. For the first time we are seeing him crumble, and understandably, he isn't handling it very well. So I disagree that letting Wishmaker hit him was out of character. It was not a good decision of course, but his mental state outweighed his critical thinking at that moment. We are seeing a new side of Adrien, that's all.
exactly thank you at least someone understands. This is all building up for some MAJOR character development. Because if you recall for the past three seasons we've seen a lot of Adrien but never really gone into his problems in detail. People think he's getting less screen time because Thomas hates him or something but they don't realise that this is the most we've seen of Adrien's personal life. In the first three seasons he was just this perfect guy who had a bit of problems which we never got to see how he dealt with. In season 4 we are moving past that and seeing how he deals with his problems and they are REALLY adressing his problems in this season. I'm living for it.
The issue is the episodes are aired out of order, so we see this flip-flop between Adrien's development, where in reality, if watched in the right order, it makes perfect sense. But people refuse to acknowledge this and think he's being "pushed aside" or that the writers hate him, lmao. If the writers and Thomas really were fine with Adrien/Chat being left out, they wouldn't make a point to have him react badly; they wouldn't show that he's sad, or depressed, or angry. They'd just keep him bubbly and upbeat as always and act like nothing is wrong. But they aren't. So clearly it's a set up for something big later on.
when Luka says "Dad crocodiles should know how to swim" was just so funny to me for some reason. I feel like Adrien's non dream (I wanna be what my parents wants me to be), is just Adrien saying that he wants to be surrounded by a good family. I can see Adrien growing up to be a great parent or even a teacher.
I think Luka, knowing both Ladubug and Chat Noirs identities is the next huge step forwarding the plot since Alya becoming Marinettes confidant and second in command. And I am all for it. Luka is like my third favorite character in the whole series after Alya herself and Nino.
Hey, friend. Kind of unrelated to your comment but have you noticed a change in Nino's voice? Like he used to have a stereotypical surfer dude accent and now it's kind of the same as every other character. Like the actor didn't change, but the accent did. It's been bugging me. 😅😅 Sorry if this is weird.
@@smg3250 I think that might have something to do with the changes in the production for season 4. they might have wanted to take things in a different direction so some minor changes were made all over. That might also be why the transformation music is different, why Julia is mumbling instead of using complete sentences, and some actors changed their voices for the characters portrayals. I myself have noticed Marinettes voice actress has lowered he pitch so Marinette sounds older than previous seasons, which she is I suppose. That could also be an explanation for it is that the characters are growing up so they mature a bit more as time goes on.
11:35 I mean, he ain’t wrong though. That’s probably the perfect way to describe Adrien and Marinette’s characters through using the weirdest analogy possible. I personally don’t think that Chat hesitating to remain alert is out of character for him either. I think that throughout the whole episode, we saw how tormented he was over his desires in life and how he felt like he knew nothing about his wishes for the future, and this could tie into how he also felt distress about not having knowledge of even what he wanted to be in the past. This poor boy’s mental state was kind of a mess in this episode, so I think it makes sense that he slightly lowered his arms when Wishmaker offered him the chance to view his childhood dream. His head was so cluttered with doubts about who he truly was to the point where he couldn’t even remember that he was supposed to be fighting.
Its really strange how they aren't trying to find and stop Shadowmoth. They just keep playing defense. Also Marinette learned she can create things and hasn't experimented with the extent of her power. Maybe try to create something to help figure out who Shadowmoth is? He immediately pounces when someone gets upset track down where those butterflies are comming from. Easy to set him up.
@@TheHICking actually thats not boring it would be exciting and it would actually make sense you know whats boring? Its just the same thing someone gets akumatized then they transform attack save the day blah blah blah
It’s interesting how different Hawkmoth’s reactions are to Adrien’s identity. In Cat Blanc he’s immediately excited, but in Wishmaker he’s almost shocked….and horrified?? It’s pretty interesting to me. And also Gabriel was a brunette what??? Also I hope the eye switch between Gabriel and Emilie is more than an animation error given how Emilie’s eye colour is always emphasised as the same green as Adrien’s but it’s GABRIEL with the green eyes.
It's almost like there is a difference between writing the story in accordance with the characters' personalities and backstories and writing the story just to make a point and seeing characters just as plot devices. I think Gabriel's reaction in Cat Blanc was ridiculous, even an abusive father like him would take a second to process things and be confused before trying to akumatize his son. Gabriel doesn't see his son as a toy or a tool, he does care for Adrien and does what he thinks it's best for his son. Does that make him a good father? Obviously not. I'm just saying that realizing that he was fighting his own son the whole time and that he didn't figure it out despite living in the same house (and realizing how easy would have been to take the miraculous ring) would lead to much more complex emotions than "what a great opportunity, time to akumatize him!"
It really shows how different the Timeline/or Universe Cat Blanc was like for that version of Gabriel. He didn't care that his son was his greatest enemy and wanted to use that to his advantage. Hell when he found that Marinette was his son's girlfriend in that Universe, he wanted to make his son go threw absolute HELL something not even the main timeline version of Gabriel wanted to do. Sure he used Lyla to try and ruin Marinette's reputation in the main timeline but only because of information she was giving Gabriel but obvious that got stopped, the main timeline Gabriel may be evil but he's not Cat Blanc evil atleast as far as we know until he fully finds out who Lady Bug and Cat Noir are without time travel which giving to what the creator of the show has revealed, Gabriel will get the Miraculous in Season 4 and obviously will know who Ladybug and Cat Noir know for real .
I just want to counter what you said for marinette. I think it's perfectly realistic for her to be indecisive. Yes, shes got some recognition for her designs but marinette has other interests that shes never tried yet. She doesnt want to make the wrong decision and "ruin" the rest of her life. She is acting like how I'm acting at the moment. So yes, it is realistic.
I completely agree. I have lots of talents and passions but choosing a career path feels impossible. I want to use all my talents but I don't think I have the time to get good enough at all of them so it's like giving up on some of my passions. And my main hobby and talent is writing stories and I'd like to be a writer one day, but you can't earn enough from writing alone unless you get very lucky like J.K. Rowling for example, so I still need to prepare for a job that doesn't interest me as much, but that would earn me enough money. It feels complicated... I always envied people like my ex who knew he wants to be a programmer since middle school and only focused on that since then, so Marinette's struggle in this episode made me feel better and less ridiculous about my own struggle.
"She doesn't want to make the wrong decision and "ruin" the rest of her life" Kind of showing the effect of being Ladybug in a way. Ladybug needs to make the right plan and decision to unakumatize the victim and purify the akuma.
But didn't marinette want to be a fashion designer? I don't think she wants to be a baker. What other career paths is she even interested in? I know she likes drawing and crafting stuff but I thought she was set on being a fashion designer.
@@its_halo5151 actually it’s more common then you think That was my first dream aswell And the one that made the most logical sense I think everyone should be like that
Bro Alec basically tells Luka that anybody can have a instrument with their phone but Luka is trying to explain that it’s not the same as having a real instrument.
Adrien had always wanted his parents love and approval even since he was a child. After Chat Noir gets hit by Wishmaker and turns to Adrien, he says something along the lines of “I just wanted to be what my parents wanted me to be!” And then the NEXT line in the script, Shadowmoth says “My son!”. I have a feeling the writers did this on purpose. He also didn’t change to anyone but himself, meaning he wants his parents to support him being himself.
He could have also appeared as just his normal self because as a kid he didn't know what his parents wanted him to be yet. Now he knows that his dad wants him to be a model I guess. Otherwise he would have probably shown up in his usual model outfit.
it broke my heart that chat noir didn’t make any jokes in this episode. also is nobody else going to talk about alec being in what looks like drag?? because i noticed it and i don’t know what my thoughts are but they are not negative
Right I noticed it too? The wig he wore is a common drag queen hairstyle and his new show is a reference to RuPaul's drag race. He even uses one of RuPauls catchphrases, paraphrased. Personally I found it pretty funny and unexpected
@@mindshockz Nah you tweakin (bbbbut fr I got WAY STRONGER RuPaul vibes from him. "If you can't love yourself how in the h*ll you gonna love somebody else??"
@@mindshockz nope, dude, there are like 7million or something people in da world, u cant be the only one to have that opiion, i also thought he looked like him
My dad's controlling nature isn't as bad as Gabriel's but I had the exact same dream as Adrien, never have i ever related more to a cartoon character than in this episode
Kids naturally want their parents love. And in a kid's mind, they get their parent's love by making them happy, which is usually by "being what they want them to be" because parents always expect a lot from their kids. Most of the time the parents just want their kids to be a good person, so its ok for the kid to want to be it for no other reason than because the parent wants it. But if the parent is like gabriel who just uses his son for modeling and seems to not care about him otherwise, then the child will want to "make the parent happy" by going along with the abusive behavior.
I personally think that there were certain parts that were a little on the nose. Like when Alec broke down, he just starts gushing about his past in front of everyone? Nobody would do that, even if they did have a revelation. There are other ways of telling the audience something without having the characters literally say it.
These writers are all the same 😂. Things like character development and screen time for others simply needed to be introduced by them now that they have everything else.
I loved Alec in this episode, so ruthless and funny. Also him becoming a Drag Queen was beautiful and I wish this person talked abt it cus it was super important
I like the idea of the episode since it might acuatlly create some real development for the future while also being really funny. I don't know how I feel about Marinette being indecisive since she seemed pretty dead set on fashion but to be fair is very indescive and flighty at times. My biggest question is wtf was Alec thinking by having a tv show that roasts other people's careers in a city where any depressed person could become an akuamatized villain. That's just asking for a world of pain. I do hope though that Luka's knowledge of their indetities doesn't get dropped though because this is definitely interesting.
I guess you could argue with Mari's new lifestyle it has made her into a workaholic and made her derail herself a bit like episode 4 she just purely focused on shadowmoth and nothing else same with episode 3 plus we haven't seen her design anything this season
Plus as someone who was considering being a fashion major it’s a competitive industry. Most people end up working in retail if they don’t make it big as a designer or working for a designer. I still love design and sewing but I’m in a multidisciplinary liberal arts major now to help me explore my different passions. And luckily there are a lot of different career options for my major
Marinette is still a teenager. Being indecisive about your future is perfectly normal in her age. Also it has been shown that her mind, for lack of a better word, has no breaks. It's been shown multiple times that she has a tendency to overthink things. For example in "Stormy Weather", where simple plan to ask Adrien out after a photo shoot turns into a tangent about them marrying, having three kids and a hamster. She was pretty confident about her future, until Kwamis started bringing up all of things she's done (trying to guess her "career") and her mind just run with it until she panicked. As for Alec, he was like that from very beginning, the very first episode, to be precise. I guess he simply never thought about it.
To be completely honest. I really liked the part when Luka started talking about their inner melodies because Adrien's one reminded me of the time when he was told to practice his sad classical music, and then Plagg played a rock 'n' roll duet with him to cheer him up. Exactly what my man Luka said. hell yea :>
You know what makes this episode great? The characters don’t interact because of some love triangle bullshit. They interact as friends and it does feel genuine. Such a relief to see Marinette care for Adriens actual problems more-so as a friend, and VICE VERSA. And Luka? Okay he talks about music, but I think even he had his moments to shine this episode that show he’s a character, not just a friendzoned emo music dude (Tho S4 has done well so far for him anyway imo).
Do black people get bullied for their hair style in North America? I live in South America, and at least where I live, I've never seen that as a reason people use to bully others (I got bullied for other reasons, though I'm not black).
@@TwilightWolf032 its very bad. ive been bullied for my hair since primary school and my school has recently banned dreadlocks and afros since they’re “gang affiliated”
Okay it’s official that Lukanette will never sail again as now Luka knows both their identities and are literally made for each other Also I think Adrien needs the emotional support and becomes closer with Luka while Luka helps him get closer to Marinette Also it concerns me that Adrien is so cool with the fact that Ladybug won’t need him one day and I deeply sympathize with him this season he became a sidekick to Ladybug this season and that is so sad
I don't think that Adrien is cool with being sidelined like this, I read his reaction as sadness and numbness, like he feels like he can't do anything about it but accept it so it would hurt less.
@Deft Dva the cats out of the bag. I think it's common knowledge that Chat Noir is always flirting with Ladybug and Adrien is Chat Noir, whom Marinette likes. I doubt Luka would ever try to get with Marinette now, if anything he will help them see what's up.
I thought this episode was really deep. Adrien & Marinette are at the age where in two years they are going to need to decide on a career and on a college to attend to get their degree. Adrien symbolizes those who have no idea what they want to do in life, while Marinette symbolizes those who know what they want to be but the pressure of being an adult makes them second guess themselves. This is a theme I have strongly resonated with in my life and is a great concept.
11:05 as a violin player, seeing that violin like that made me cry, LUKA, YOUR A MUSICIAN GOD DAMMIT, YOU SHOULD KNOW NEVER PUT THE BRIDGE AGAINST THE WALL, THAT WILL BREAK IT!!!!
Ahaha, but he's right, right? He's already going around swinging on his portable stripper pole... I was actually really surprised when it turned out the character is still a minor. Not that Adrien actually needs to work for money, though, his father is clearly filthy rich. A lot more difficult to choose a job when you don't really need it.
i REALLY liked this episode, we got to see finally adrinette getting so,e progress and an identity reveal and ut being really funny and that underrated plagg moment at the end. i’m also realizing gabes smooth brain is rubbing off to adrien
Adrien needs therapy and I’m willing to volunteer as tribute. Also, I also knew what I wanted to be as a teenager. I wanted to make art. Oh how I wish I could continue this dream
@@dragonempress8367 I think the picture people paint to live your dreams is just fantasy. I’ve got bills to pay and living my dream isn’t going to help me with that. Reality hit me. I’m youngish…kinda not really…but it’s still too late to make that dream a reality.
@@MissSirenita You could definitely be an artist. People definitely pay for that, and a lot. You could make that a hobby and sell your art to people, while also working to pay your bills. A lot of people do that.
Cat Noir - “Would you really call this a dream?” *points this person as a cucumber* That’s one of the hilarious scenes. It’s over the top. Cat Noir’s face + person rolling down the street as a cucumber was comedy gold.
“Why is everything music to you? Do you have any other interests?” No because the writers do not know what to do with him which is a shame because he is a good character. He is caring, loyal, understanding of people, non judgmental, just a good person. Stop making him sound like a stereotypical hippie.
Preach! He's my favorite, and i'm mad they don't give him a real personality, he needs to be written better, he has so much potential, and they aren't utilizing it, which sucks.
I think Lumiere is an inspiration for Andre’s character which is why he tries to be so romantic around couples and speaks in a French accent while everyone else doesn’t (except for Adrien’s photographer).
something that really hit hard in this episode was the whole career theme, FINALLY something which a lot of teenagers like myself struggle with. seeing people get so determined about what they want to be literally scares me, i'm still unsure about my future and what classes i need to take since i'm planning to have a career in law. by some coincidence, my group of friends had a chat about what we were planning to do as our jobs just the night before wishmaker was released. it felt surreal, but it definitely painted one of our fears as teens. anyways, i LOVE this episode so much, everything was perfection! each character seemed to have a different backstory, the humour was amazing (felt like a fever dream, with jagged becoming a crocodile and mr. banana turning into a cucumber lol), and the villain was actually pretty cool from designs and powers and all. honestly, luka really carried the whole episode, gotta salute him for possibly being my new favourite character. p.s. anyone gonna talk about how gabe actually looked good when he was younger-
SHADOWMOTH: Fly away my little Akuma. Peacock Miraculous: AM I A JOKE TO YOU! Like Seriously Every episode I Assume you call out "Nooru ,Duusu Unify" only for you to use one of their Powers. Like just give Duusu the Day off and Be Hawkmoth if you don't feel like using it. Is Their a Reason your not using it.(Well yes the Writers doesn't want to come up with Two New Design Every episode. One for a Villain and one for a Sentimonster.) Duusu like that Teammate who come in every Game but the Coach never uses him.
I don’t say this very often but honestly, props to the writers on having Luka be the character to find out their identities. With his calm, collected, and considerate nature, I honestly can’t think of a better character. I’m interested to see what they do with this (huge) development. Side note: I really hope luka becomes to adrien what alya is to marinette.
I love plaag more now ad the season progresses. I rewatched hero’s day and saw the scene where he split his cheese with Adrien because he needed his strength. Tikki did not do that. In wishmaker, plaag tried helping him and told him they can work together in whatever Adrien chooses. What a real friend. Also rewatching the show, alec was not this bad at mocking people. He was nice a couple of times. I do not know why he was this mean. I am glad Adrien comolained a out all the miraculouses being distributed. It means rocketear and the episodes hold weight. This episode was someone tripping on acid especially banana man turning into a cucumber. I am glad that Luka knows their identities. I think he can be trusted with a secret like that. I also like how sad he felt when he found out about Adrien. I interpreted it as he has been through a lot especially with his father and the poor sap gets beaten up as cat noir. I think Luka just felt like the audience. The poor guy. His reaction to Marionette was priceless. He now understood why she had to leave their dates and why she could not tell him the truth. Then alec as a drag queen. I am not making fun of it. I love it. If the writers did not stereotype the different groups, alec could be some new and fun representation.
Yeah I mean he acted with his heart there, which is not a heroic thing to do. But since Luka and Adrien don't interact with each other that much Adrien confiding in to Luka seems unlikely.
@@SeanWheeler100 it is something the show barely explains but it seems like she can only create a charm for a person after defeating the villain, Alya mentioning it in crocoduel is the only thing we have. Kind of wish they explained it a bit more
They are still teenagers so there will probably be a lot of times that they will be sad, depressed, frustrated etc. Cause living in this world is already pretty hard imo.
I usually dont like miraculous episodes anymore cuz they are really unbalanced in terms of character development and screen time but I think this is one of the very few season 4 episodes where every character got good amount of screen time. no where it felt like they were stretching out the character screen time, they were all given good screen time and important. usually they only focus on marinette/Ladybug and her being the main hero of the day, but this one, she still did get more screen time compared to other characters but it all felt natural, as if she needed that screen time. she didnt feel forced but rather natural. Usually im begging for an episode where marinette/ladybug is not the main focus cuz she always is, after this ep, I have chnaged my opinion. I still believe they give marinette way too much focus overall, to a point where it just feels unnecessary and forced screen time when it could have been given to others, but after watching this ep I think even if they dont take marinette/ladybug comepletey out of the ep, the epsodes can still be great only if they divide the screentime wisely like in this one. I didnt feel like she was given too much focuz, but just the right amount and so were the other characters. there were no unneccesary charaters, all characters introduced in the ep were important and played a role in the episodes plot, rather then having her other random frnds in there for 5 mins when they dont do anything. other characters were just there at the start and no uneeded time was given to them since they wont play any role in episodes plot. that was wise in my opinion. they dont have to give her more screentime only cuz shes gaurdian cuz many times the screen time just feels unneccesary and pointless, if thats how your characters screen time is then just dont give them that extra screen time. Giving one more screen time doesnt always work, and it doesnt for marinette in my opinion ONLY cuz shes a guadrian. By far rocketear was my favourite ep of season 4 and this is my 2nd favourite. hopefully they make more eps that equally focus on all characters. its eps like this that still make me wanna watch this show. overall , Lovely ep, I like how luka know both of their identities tho he chose to lie about it, so im curious what would become of him having this info. cant wait for future eps.
i wish every episode was written like this, getting equal screen time in the same episode to portray how their lives juxtapose. the whole yin and yang thing would be far more convincing
I really hope Luka becomes a good friend to adrian cause now that he knows cat noirs identity he also knows what and all adrian goes through too. This episode proved me wrong cause I thought that Lukas just going to stay as marinettes possible live interest but this episode really solidified Lukas presence in the mlb show. I'm really looking forward to knowing more abt his personality in the future and see how he takes part in ladybug and adrians life😀😃
I love Wishmaker it had the best Marinette, Adrien and Luka moments. I loved when Marinette and Adrien talked at the same time and I love that the trio said it was complicated. Those moments was so funny I love Marinette's knitting fairy outfit it was so pretty and it made Marinette look cute. And I love Luka knows that the identities now but I wish he didn't lie to Ladybug but I still like the episode also Alec looked cool when he was a villain I loved his costume it was so cool. It was shocking that Adrien was shown as a baby when Wishmaker hit him and when he was revealed he didn't move that part was weird. It was cool that Adrien wanted to be what his parents wanted him to be but now I feel sorry for him that he had to be controlled for the rest of his life.
Marinette being indecisive could make sense, we just need a scene at the beginning about how creative careers are risky and most people who try end up waiting tables. It could end up with a nice message about being true to your passions. It would be thematic, but no, no, Marinette is having trouble because the plot needs her to have trouble with something so she has something in common with Adrian.
Idk if I like this episode. Sure it’s extremely relevant to the plot but Luka knowing both of their identities makes him an easy way of preventing chat noir from snapping in later episodes. Knowing that someone actually knows chat noir identity makes the later episodes build up that we have already much less relevant. I kinda hope that we can get an arch where Luka struggles to keep their identities a secret and somehow ends up at least forgetting chat noir’s. Imho the episode would have been perfect if he only knew Ladybug identity. We’ll see how the story will go anyway
I liked this episode a lot but it reminded me of the kind of stuff that left me with a bad taste after Chat Blanc. Both of them are great for the work they do towards characterizing the people in the show; but, just like in Chat Blanc the only real thing that changed between the start of the episode and the end was that someone learned something they didn't know before. (At least with Wishmaker the career fair still happended) I'm really worried about how they're going to follow it up because I that's the most important part. Chat Blanc seemed to have only be referenced once (in Sentibubbler) since that episode aired and while you could argue it's been affecting Marinette's behavior anyway I don't think I could let the same slide with Luka. If this episode is to mean anything then he's going to need to take some action as a result. While I can hope they'll do just that, the shows history makes me all to anxious about it.
Luka may have find out of that Marinette and Adrien are Ladybug and Cat Noir this whole time but he decided to keep their Superheroes identities a secret just like Alya. I guess Luka finally understand why Marinette broke up with him in the first place and he 's alright with that which is why Luka decided to not confront Marinette that he knows that she's Ladybug this whole time.
it hurts so bad to know that its true that ladybug doesn't really need cat noir. i was kinda caught of guard when adrien just so casually admitted to knowing that. i know how it feels to be worthless. gah never related to a cartoon character more in my life. this season really made cat noir look like a sidekick, i really hope all this is going somewhere towards his character arc. i dont want him to become any other character.
Personally, I think Cat noir letting wishmaker hit him is understandable considering what’s happened in season 4 up till now. He’s been neglected by Ladybug, lost a close friend in Kagami, got Nino his best friend akumatized and to top it all off he can’t even remember his childhood dream. That’s really tough for Adrien so I understand why he acted the way he did.
Actually it makes since there are many parts of design. Designing outfits, producing outfits, producing a fashion magazine, ect. Doing the hat and Jagged's album cover are technically two different real world jobs. Logically she needs to be a freelancer so she can save Paris whenever and still hit deadlines. Also allows her to design anything from digital works, to clothes to "security devices?" lol
Wishmaker overall is a fun and creative episode. Yes seeing Luka as Mari wingman is frustrating but Luka insight about what he wants to do and Adrien not knowing what he wants to do cause of his father is so good. Mari seems forced tbh cause her thing isn't complicated, now if it was her trying to figure between her hobbies as a career but realizing she could try at all of them would be better to explore that
Why does everyone keep giving Adrien's mom so much backlash? Also, Luka should probably get his dad over to stop Adrien from leaving Paris for a week with Lila to help Marinette without any of them knowing that he knows who they are and Alya should get some dirt on her too since she knows her best friend is Ladybug and should realize that Lila lies about having connections with people as well like Ladybug (her best friend), Prince Ali, and Jagged Stone who she learned is Luka and Juleka's dad seriously does nobody do anything about if they know she lied about having personal connections with those people?
@UC8rRCrvjzI8KGKstdQwc7bw or maybe she and Gabriel were using them for fun jumping rooftops together while either Nathalie, Chloe, or Adrien's bodyguard was left to take care of him and Emilie had been fighting off the illing effects of the Peacock like a champ until they took their told on her and she didn't want Gabriel to worry about her since they didn't know what the items were or where they're from like Adrien said when he was little he wasn't allowed out maybe it happened when he was a toddler and he just doesn't know it yet 'cause his father wanted to spare him from the shock
it's probably just me but I was in Mariette's situation where I would constantly doodle a lot and everyone was thinking I'd want to be an artist growing up. The reason why I didn't want to be was because I heard it was a struggle to be one and I wanted to get a job that pays well while art was a side hobby. It probably isn't what Marinette was thinking but I still felt like I related to her in this
Plagg's idea to open a cheese shop together with Adrien is kinda wholesome. Why Adrien not choose that as his career instead? The pros: - Adrien could live a simple and normal life - While he running cheese shop, he can develope a new interest over another things. - You are supermodel! Celebrity who start a businesses always got high profit from the fact that they're "celebrity", so why don't you try? Look at The Kardashians, look at Oprah Winfrey, dang-did you see Rihanna and her fashion line business, yet? C'mon Adrien.
I get the feeling that they are making Cat Noir sadder and sadder each episode to lead to a point where maybe he gives up on being Cat Noir and renounces Plagg. Cue Ladybug having a freak out that she doesn't know who he really is and will never find him, and finally realises her feelings. Then bumping into Luka who sees she's sad, finds out why and then thinks it's a good time to come clean about what he learnt from Wishmaker, telling her Cat Noir is Adrien. Then she goes to him only to find daddy Agreste has come clean to his son and is trying to win him over. I must say though I'd love to have an ep where Alya lays into Adrien about the moves he's been making on Marinette, how it's messing with her emotions, and slaps some sense into the blind boy.
I'm just happy, outside of the obvious, that we finally got a Drag Queen on the show. I mean we have gay characters including a possible lesbian couple, and how we have a drag queen. It makes me wonder if the next step is a trans-person. Can't wait!
Adrien: "I always wanted to be what my parents wanted me to be!!!!" My heart: *Shatters into a million pieces* When I first heard him say this, I was hurting all day, I should have cried, man this seriously hit me in the gut
I pretty much had the exact same feelings about everything that you did. I do hope that Luka will get to be Adrien's pal-in-the-know, but I'm not certain it'll be legit.
Adrian parents remind me of a C.S. Lewis quote, that went something like this. " how terrible to fall into the hands of those who would do horrible things to us, and say it's for our own good, and believe it."
What I kept thinking throughout this episode was, how did the power select which thing you dreamed as a child to turn you into? Like, surely, most people have dreamed of multiple potential futures as a child, either simultaneously, or because, you know, 'childhood' is a fairly long period, and what you dream of at 3 isn't going to be the same thing you dream of at 9 for most people. Of all the things that specific person had dreamed of, why one earth did the power pick 'cucumber'?
There’s a quote like this “But dad, crocodiles knows how to swim.” and it’s said by Luka, this is my favorite episode ever.

i really hope Luka becomes Adrien’s Alya (where he helps Adrien make excuses to transform and such). it would be a big twist to the fans considering we wanted Nino to know Adrien’s identity and be his Alya (his reveal in Rocketear, though, no). i find it comforting at the thought of Luka helping Adrien and maybe even letting Adrien find his feelings for Marinette
That sounds pretty cute, but I don't think Thomas is smart enough to do that.
ngl, i'd actually enjoy luka to be like adrien's alya too, instead of nino. rocketear def left some trust issues for me.
yesss. luka seems more mature than others and would be a great help for adrien. Nino is a great dude but he's more like a bestfriend while luka can be a big bro for him
Nino lost my joy for him to know. Luka deserves it, not him.
yesss that would be so cool and totally unexpected!
Yeah but maybe luka would be cat noir’s partner
@@lilymadkins3558 Nino had Proven he Can't keep a Secret. If Adrien going to have a Friend to talk to about Catnoir it might be Luka.

@@toogayforyourdrama4606 Yes exactly!!
@@MiiChanx yes. I swear I think we'll get episode 5 after the season finale.
Finally someone said it😌✨😭
when Luka says "Dad crocodiles should know how to swim" was just so funny to me for some reason.
Unforgiveable plot hole #6: abandoned subplot.
Or create a miraculous tracking device if you aren't gonna experiment why do you even have infinite creation
How are they gonna make a season five that way? Because she can end it all whenever she wants.
Too bad it's not going to happen because that's too good of writing.
That
Sounds very boring
I would refer they continue this
@@TheHICking actually thats not boring it would be exciting and it would actually make sense you know whats boring?
Since I haven't seen his mom's eyes open I'ma just guess his dad is putting on colored contacts
That’s on inconsistent writing
it's like anderson cooper; the hair just went silver lol. But yeah the eye thing is an annoying inconsistency
Nice pfp 🤝
"She doesn't want to make the wrong decision and "ruin" the rest of her life" Kind of showing the effect of being Ladybug in a way. Ladybug needs to make the right plan and decision to unakumatize the victim and purify the akuma.
Honestly. A teenager? Being indecisive? How shocking!
But didn't marinette want to be a fashion designer? I don't think she wants to be a baker. What other career paths is she even interested in? I know she likes drawing and crafting stuff but I thought she was set on being a fashion designer.

I think they're treating the audience too stupid. Children will still be able to get context clues and the writing could be abit better.

When the villain needs Viperion to finish it, you know it's going to be a tough villain.
Exactly what my man Luka said. hell yea :>
The way you fully roast Luka even though he's one of your favorites is *chef's kiss*
That is most certainly a great helping factor.

I thought this episode was really deep. Adrien & Marinette are at the age where in two years they are going to need to decide on a career and on a college to attend to get their degree. @@dragonempress8367 I think the picture people paint to live your dreams is just fantasy. I’ve got bills to pay and living my dream isn’t going to help me with that. Reality hit me. I’m youngish…kinda not really…but it’s still too late to make that dream a reality.
@@MissSirenita dang

@@MissSirenita You could definitely be an artist. People definitely pay for that, and a lot. You could make that a hobby and sell your art to people, while also working to pay your bills. A lot of people do that.
Cat Noir - “Would you really call this a dream?” *points this person as a cucumber*
That’s one of the hilarious scenes. It’s over the top.
Cat Noir’s face + person rolling down the street as a cucumber was comedy gold.
Later in the episode, is revelated that the cucumber, is in fact, Mr Banana. Which i think is hilarious
@@Maleriandro stay peachy!
“Why is everything music to you? Do you have any other interests?”
No because the writers do not know what to do with him which is a shame because he is a good character. He is caring, loyal, understanding of people, non judgmental, just a good person. Stop making him sound like a stereotypical hippie.
Preach! He's my favorite, and i'm mad they don't give him a real personality, he needs to be written better, he has so much potential, and they aren't utilizing it, which sucks.
i think luka and his dad as a crocodile just laying down and skygazing together is so wholesome and hilarious
I think Lumiere is an inspiration for Andre’s character which is why he tries to be so romantic around couples and speaks in a French accent while everyone else doesn’t (except for Adrien’s photographer).
Adrien's photographer has Italian accent.
My mistake
@@MiraculousHolder365 👍🏻😉
something that really hit hard in this episode was the whole career theme, FINALLY something which a lot of teenagers like myself struggle with. seeing people get so determined about what they want to be literally scares me, i'm still unsure about my future and what classes i need to take since i'm planning to have a career in law. by some coincidence, my group of friends had a chat about what we were planning to do as our jobs just the night before wishmaker was released. it felt surreal, but it definitely painted one of our fears as teens.
anyways, i LOVE this episode so much, everything was perfection! each character seemed to have a different backstory, the humour was amazing (felt like a fever dream, with jagged becoming a crocodile and mr. banana turning into a cucumber lol), and the villain was actually pretty cool from designs and powers and all. honestly, luka really carried the whole episode, gotta salute him for possibly being my new favourite character.
p.s. anyone gonna talk about how gabe actually looked good when he was younger-
Honestly I think the fact that principal still wants to be a super hero is adorable it's like he's a kid at heart
I thought it was lovely that Mari had second thoughts about her future even though she was so sure about being a designer

Honestly, like you said this episode felt like such a fever dream, and I literally couldn’t wait for you to post a reaction video to it 😂
Luka makes more sense as Adrien's confidante since we know Nino told him ALYA'S secret. We love Nino, but we can't trust him to shut the f up.
Yeah I mean he acted with his heart there, which is not a heroic thing to do. But since Luka and Adrien don't interact with each other that much Adrien confiding in to Luka seems unlikely.
Luka knows the heart by heart
I hope Luka doesn’t get akumatised or Alya because without those magical charms, our heroes are screwed. Love your reviews.
Technically Alya can break out of Akumatisions so...
would be such a slap in the face if it did
Why does Ladybug only give charms to the people who were just recently akumatised? Why doesn't she pass them out to everyone?
I'm really looking forward to knowing more abt his personality in the future and see how he takes part in ladybug and adrians life😀😃
luka and adrien should stop chasing marinette/ladybug and just date instead 🙄🙄

@WingedFool yeah it was funny.
14:06 I don't know if you noticed, but at the end we can see that this is actually the banana guy XD
Luka and adrien becoming friends is what I yearn for
They are already friends though
That OnlyFans idea is both brilliant and halarious. It's so creative! Love it. And your content is always amazing quality. Keep it up!
"Where local oxygen thief Alec is hosting a TV show" is my favourite thing ever said
I love how Lukas new knowledge will never go anywhere bc whenever anything interesting happens its retconned.
14:06 Plot twist: That was actually Mr Banana.
It was 🤣
Really? I haven't watch the episode because I'm too "nervous to watch" that episode XD
Same
smarty pants: one of the best episodes yet
also smarty pants: *continues to roast the rest of the episode
This gonna become Luka’s major character development
9:45 Unrelated but Luka looks adorable in this scene. Shows just how much good animation can do for a character
The guy rolling down the street as a cucumber reminded me so much of pickle Rick

it hurts so bad to know that its true that ladybug doesn't really need cat noir. i was kinda caught of guard when adrien just so casually admitted to knowing that. i know how it feels to be worthless. gah never related to a cartoon character more in my life. this season really made cat noir look like a sidekick, i really hope all this is going somewhere towards his character arc. i dont want him to become any other character.
Adrians parents eye colour was reversed when he said he just wanted to make them happy. He’s got some funky memories🤔
That’s really tough for Adrien so I understand why he acted the way he did.
just wanted to point out that of course the person who dreamed of being a cucumber turned out to be the banana guy
Adrien's dream legit hit me hard like it's too relatable
This is going to be interesting
I really love your reviews. They’re really insightful and there are a lot of jokes that make me laugh. ☺️
this episode was a good one! 10/10 I loved it!
Marinette still wants to be a fashion designer she said that she wants to try other things before she makes a choice
5:53 "Is your brain as smooth as your head?" HELP.
Luka's GOT to be my favorite character. The GOAT at making good decisions.
it's probably just me but I was in Mariette's situation where I would constantly doodle a lot and everyone was thinking I'd want to be an artist growing up. The reason why I didn't want to be was because I heard it was a struggle to be one and I wanted to get a job that pays well while art was a side hobby.
It probably isn't what Marinette was thinking but I still felt like I related to her in this
the episode itself was a little chaotic and a bit of a stretch, but the deep stuff was there in the end
Plagg's idea to open a cheese shop together with Adrien is kinda wholesome.
Why Adrien not choose that as his career instead?
The pros:
- Adrien could live a simple and normal life
- While he running cheese shop, he can develope a new interest over another things.
- You are supermodel! Celebrity who start a businesses always got high profit from the fact that they're "celebrity", so why don't you try?
Look at The Kardashians, look at Oprah Winfrey, dang-did you see Rihanna and her fashion line business, yet?
C'mon Adrien.
I just think the Luka knowing Chat Noir's Identity is just going to make Adrien snap earlier.
How so😳?
Adrien almost snap in rokestars
the dino huggie man was so adorable like just let him be a dino huggie darnit
Now that it has been several months since this episode aired, I am really annoyed that they never utilized what came out of this episode.
I'm just happy, outside of the obvious, that we finally got a Drag Queen on the show. I mean we have gay characters including a possible lesbian couple, and how we have a drag queen. It makes me wonder if the next step is a trans-person. Can't wait!
Luka def took a blunt and a half before he was clocked in as the stall guy
Adrien: "I always wanted to be what my parents wanted me to be!!!!"
My heart: *Shatters into a million pieces*
When I first heard him say this, I was hurting all day, I should have cried, man this seriously hit me in the gut
I look forward to the results of Ladybug excluding Cat Noir. He's already feeling dejected, it's clearly part of an arc.
I swear, everyone in this episode was high. Especially Luka.
It’s a joke because that person is banana man
It probably took him 2 years cause he was like 8 when he made it.
