Hi hi hello!! I’m really happy you guys are liking my take on MLB! There’s a few mini changes I wanted to make and a quick clarification 1. While Mei is based on Marinette, she’s meant to be a separate character and that applies to all characters made in this series 2. Someone just made it aware to me that it’s more likely that Marinette’s mom is implied to be from southern China because of her last name, I decided to look into it and decided that Mei will be from Yangzhou! Which actually works out really well as in my au het parents have a restaurant and cafe and it’s a pretty prominent area good food! 3. People pointed out that my interpretation of lucky charm kinda removes the luck aspect of it, and I have to agree 😭, so I’ll be adjusting it to where lucky charm gives her a piece of an overall creation she has to make to solve the problem, like how tinker belle takes the found things she has to make new things, that way I can balance the luck aspect with the creativity aspect Edit!: I have some more things I need to correct!!! 4. With the peacock miraculous I got my words mixed up, I meant Vitality, not Viability, sorry 😭 5. I accidentally drew La Cinelle’s Cheongsam in the wrong direction 😭 I’m gonna fix it and reupload the drawing! Thankyou guys for letting me know, I got it backwards Thank you guys so much for your support and suggestions!!
Oooo while I don't really know if this would work, it's a cute little suggestion that may be fun- What if Mei when creating her "lucky charm" got those items from people later in the day? OR had various ways that luck would be on her side while making the lucky item such as increased creation speed (like she's just really focused idk) one day or a random item that is exactly or a substitute to what she needs and luckily (lol) got flung towards her while Chat noir is fighting a villain. Again, just a silly suggestion and I'd love to see what you do with Chat Noir!

Hi! I loved your redesigns and new plot, it’s so much better than the show 😭 But I wanted to let you know that I’m pretty sure Mei/Marinette’s cultural-inspired suit is supposed to be folded right over left instead of left over right, as the second is how people are dressed for funerals!
i adore how shes delulu, i much prefer that over the STALKING. i also love how she has more struggles in her real life, like pressure from school, and id love to see her relationship with her grandfather.

I love this redesign! I especially love how marinette’s hair is more wavy and her skin tone is more tanned, since as a Chinese person myself i see a lot of toxic asian beautify standards such as having pale skin is better etc. Also love how there is more cultural references in her outfits. This is also really specific but it makes me pretty happy that she lives with her grandfather since i was also raised by my grandparents.
Marinette is originally mixed (Chinese & French I think), since her dad is white (from what I've heard) and her mom is Asian. It'd make sense for her skin to be pale since I mean, her dads pale too & so is her mother. In her drafts she definitely does have more Asian features that lets people know that she's mixed, but they decided to add blue eyes to her (which I feel wasn't that necessary, since her dad has green, and her mom has gray, but then again genes are crazy like that). I don't think that classifying Marinettes character as someone who follows the "Asian beauty standards" just because she looks more white than Asian due to her pale skin is fair to mixed people who white pass, since it could definitely make them feel erased. People's looks are usually based off of their parents dominant and recessive genes, so a lot of her traits probably come from her dad rather than her mom, and to me its normal to have mixed traits and still look more this than that, because generations do exist & even though mutations are rare, they aren't entirely impossible.
@@twinklesenpai if my original comment made it seem like light skinned/white passing mixed people are not valid, then i sincerely apologize. That was not my intention at all, and they are absolutely beautiful and valid as well. When I talked about toxic asian beauty standards i meant that those are the standards pushed by many East Asian societies, not that Marinette;s design intentionally plays into those stereotypes and standards. Because I personally am surrounded by a lot of East Asian cultural influences and trends, it was refreshing to see a part Chinese character being designed to look like what a large majority of Chinese and mixed Chinese people look like.
Can I make a suggestion for Chat Noir? In the PV he was cursed with bad luck because he wielded the black cat's miraculous and the only way to break that curse was by getting a kiss from Ladybug. I love how you designed her and that she's flawed and therefore has room for growth. I can't wait to see where this goes.

Is this even stated in the show?? Because apparently I'm not the only one who didn't figure it out until now, so I know it's not just me being dumb. But, on a second thought, it is possible that it was stated in the beginning of the series and I just forgot because I had to focus on the five consecutive love triangles going on that were definitely more important than symbolism and lore

But it never clicked on my brain before (it can also be because it's called something completely different and not luck related in my native language tho). And "cataclysm" is a word play on "cat" instead of referring to a black cat's unluckiness, so it's also not consistent. And that makes me ask myself if other powers are also thought out like this or have a meaning in the original show? Or are they just random because they needed more superhero characters? [Sorry for the long text, I'm just yapping at this point HAHS]
It'd be interesting if the reason ladybugs and black cats were seen as lucky and unlucky respectively was because the kwamis were already those animals, and influenced culture into having those perceptions by merely just existing
I'm guessing the guardian that dumped the miracle box is Meiqi's grandfather. The lore would be more interesting and she would probably feel some sort of betrail like "Granpa! WHY WOULD YOU THROW THE MIRACLE BOX IN THE OCEAN?!?!?!"
Sorry for writing strangely, English is not my first language. When I see your Ladybug design I can't help but think that the wings are a kind of shield, it would be interesting how Marinette could have this tool to protect, while Chat Noir uses his staff to attack, playing again with the idea of balance and giving weight to the forgotten concept that they need each other to thrive. I adored the civilian Marinette design!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE when people make Marinette's chinese heritage so much more apparent.🌸🐞 It always made no sense to me that she can't speak chinese at all. It would absolutely make sense that she wouldn't be fluent or would have a thick accent. But Sabine seems to be so proud of being chinese that I don't understand why she wouldn't share her culture with her daughter. I mean, her parents saved up for years so she could go to Shanghai, why would they do that and not teach her a little bit of chinese???
I'd make a bit of an argument if Sabine hadn't been back home in a while, my mother is half Kenyan, and spent a stint in Zambia, but she speaks very little Swahili nowadays and didn't teach any of us it. It wasn't because she wasn't proud of her heritage, but because she doesn't need to use it here and therefore didn't see a reason for it to benefit us. The thing is, Sabine DOES go back to china and keep in contact with her side of the family, and she very much should be teaching marinette her own language

@@lynne5314 I know that and it actually never really bothered me until the Shanghai special. Because her parents said they've been saving up for a trip to Shanghai since she was little, with that in mind, they could've taught her a little bit of Chinese but she can't even introduce herself which I find weird.
@@nxzxdxnxzxdx8087 Hm, another mixed race person here and I didn’t learn any of my mother’s languages, despite visiting her birth country and her parents’, and having some relationship with her parents when I was little (who couldn’t speak much English.) She would sing to me in Hindi but I learned no Gujarati or Swahili because I didn’t have enough time immersed in it and she focused more on my learning to speak ‘useful languages,’ in her eyes such as Spanish. She was always speaking English to my Dad, so there was no natural picking up of the language either. Whether that comes from internalised racism or in her case a complicated relationship with her family and upbringing, or some combination is a separate question but it does happen. It would’ve been interesting to see a conversation between Marinette and her mother about why she didn’t teach her and how she feels a bit alienated from that part of her culture and family but I doubt they did anything like that? (I haven’t watched ML since like S2)

Will you create original miraculous jewels and characters? 3. Will you do a voice claim for your AU? 4. How many miraculous boxes are out there? 5. How does the miraculous system work in AU, like do the Kwamis choose which human partners, what's are their abilities, their weaknesses, and will they unlock their unlimited power? 6. Will you also be renaming the other characters and Kwamis? I do like Marinette's new name (Mei Qi) and hero name (La Cinelle) too. I love how you made both May and Tikki look connected with the all the heart symbols from May's space buns to pig tails hairstyle plus the anime hairstrand as well as her eyes and tikkis heart pattern and upside down heart shading in her eye💜🌸🐞🐇 And thank you for giving Chat-Noir something to do especially after what they did to him in the finale😹
I love this idea! Usually I see redesigns go along the lines to desaturate Marinette’s flaws to make them more acceptable, but I think ditching try e most extreme (and downright creepy) ones to focus on the more “innocent” ones like attachment issues, ego, and irresponsibility is great! I love flawed characters, especially when the storyline forces them to overcome said flaws, and I love them even better when they’re human instead of just an idolized superhero. Marinette’s a teenager! She’s in peak character development time!

I don't personally watch miraculous ladybug but I love watching redesign videos and I am endlessly amused by how many people just make up their own oc to replace Marinette.
10:09 kinda off topic but one of my favorite (kinda) flawed characters has always been Sakura from Cardcaptor Sakura. She goes from not knowing anything about her secret powers, to surpassing one of the greatest sorcerers of all time, and she does struggle with it, but wins in the end. I also like how they also gave her time to have an innocent romance with one of the characters, while still growing up and getting stronger. It’s one of my favorite anime’s , and the writing is really cute!!
One thing to at I really wish this show leaned into more was the creation destruction dynamic. They could have emphasized marinette being a fashion designer and artist. That would’ve really tied her to tikki as a god of creation better. For Adrian I think it would have been really interesting to be more subtle with his connection. He’s a charmer with natural charisma. He seemingly has his stuff together. If marinette is so obviously thematically connected to tikki then it would make Adrian’s apparent lack of connection to plagg stand out. That is, until we see how SELF destructive he is. Instead of putting destruction out into the world the way marinette does with creation, he focuses his destruction inward. It would also create a delectable “it gets worse before it gets better” plot line. This show gives me so much brain rot pls free me from this self imposed prison cell

I thought maybe the miraculouses themselves could sense who would be the right person to be their holder. Even if the Kwamis would have problems with morals like you said, I still think that humans also couldn't make the choice of who can have a miraculous even if they have the best intentions, they could still train and help people with their miraculouses but they could not choose directly who will use it. This would also help avoid problems with people stealing them because when a miraculous chose someone it would find a way to get to that person and would only be "activated" when the right time comes or if there is an emergency that causes this "safe mode" to disable for a while, so anyone could have a miraculous in camouflage mode and no one would know, and therefore could not be easily stolen or misused, and yes, I would like this to happen with the characters in the series, everyone would have their miraculous before becoming heroes but they wouldn't know it. As for the villains, since the miraculous were damaged this "security" would have been corrupted and that is why they could use them, This would also help a little with Gabriel's issue, if the idea was to make him an empathetic villain then it would be easier if the butterfly miraculous was also damaged, if both were lost in the same place why would one be damaged and the other not? So the butterfly miraculous would also be damaged but it wouldn't be apparent at first, it would affect the mind instead of the body making Gabriel start to go crazy little by little just wearing the miraculous, making him start beeing Hawk Moth and when he realized that this miraculous is also damaged it would no longer matter cause he would be crazy enough to not care. That way it would be easier to see him as someone decent or even actually simpathetic because he is being affected by something he has no control over.
I think the AU name should be "Nouvelle Vie" which translates to "new life" in french which would hone in on the fact that its a New life and something that isn't like just redesigning the characters outfits like i've scene many youtuber's do, instead you are making a WHOLE new world with the bare minimum of the og story which i find to be amazing so far!!!!
I love Ladybug redesigns coz there's almost no way you can do worse lol. I like the hearts and gold trim and how her hair color slightly changes when transformed. 🐞🌸

This is the Miraculous we all deserve! I think the overhaul of the story - especially with the Kwamis - is amazing and much more coherant! I can't wait to see more! I love the overhaul of Marinette to Mei and her designs - both as Ladybug and her civillian design - Are much more cohesive with her cultural heritige! 🐞🌸 I really am looking forward to more of these videos and seeing how you fill out the story. The fandom really do know this story better than the authors thats for sure!

I had the idea cuz I always thought emotion made way more sense for the butterfly than for the peacock, and since the peacock’s ability is essentially to create life I thought it was a good idea!- but like- the kwami of life sounded really boring and I wanted a fancy word 😭
AHHHH I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!! I’ve always thought that the concept of miraculous was wasted on the show we got and every time I watch it I am reminded of how badly the plot and characters are written. Like they did Chloe’s character so dirty. They built up a really interesting redemption arc and then were like “you know what? Nahhhh the rich mean girl has to stay the rich mean girl and let’s make her stupid.” I will always hate the writers for that, it was lazy, especially since they just replaced her with Zoe (not saying I hate Zoe, just let’s be real, the only reason she is in the show is to replace Chloe as the bee holder). That being said, I’m really excited to see your version of Chloe and the other characters! I also liked how you made the miracle box smaller, I feel like it’s too complicated to keep up with how many heroes there were in season 4, especially with how oddly specific majority of the kwami’s powers are. I’m so excited to follow along as you create this au!!💖
Oh god your designs are so adorable and I love the name changes, and just all the lore changes. It really feels more in tune with what kind of show I’d want to see. I’ll say it again and again- just because it’s a show for kids, doesn’t mean it can just skip important details. Can’t wait for more

Love love LOOOOVE THIS Now I'll go onto a little personal tangent One of my dearest friends, who was very smart and kind, died of cancer in 2022. She LOVED Miraculous. All I knew about miraculous came from her. She was a big fan. And I know that she would probably have the same complaints the fandom does about the issues in the show, and I love to see the dedication the fandom has into remaking the story my friend loved so much. Feels like honoring her memory. It makes me really happy. I feel like she would have loved your redesign of marinette
Miraculous has more lore than just girl superhero with crush on boy superhero who's dad is evil??? What have I missed since 2020.. Seriously, amazing redesigns! I enjoyed your new lore and learning more about miraculous lore! 10/10 video.
I always think of how much POTENTIAL this show has and how much the fumbled. The bones are so strong with the magic system, love square, and setting. The writing is just so bad, the romance so awkward because they’re essentially middleschoolers, and the lack of direction obvious. I love when people age up the characters because every “romantic” interaction in the show kills me with second hand embarrassment because I’m like you’re 13 sit down.
Tbh I’m perfectly fine with awkward romance, it can be cute, the problem isn’t that the romance is awkward, the problem is that it’s awkward THE ENTIRE TIME 😭 especially for Adrinette , up until they’re randomly put together in season 5 and then it’s overly forced, cheesy, and full of cliche conflicts (like the Romeo and Juliet plot) which is weird because the team IS CAPABLE of writing cute genuine romance, Lukanette being the best example, hell even Alya and Nino can be a good example

I won't spoil it in case ur wanting to surprise people with it, but it makes a lot of sense and also is obvious with how you built the kwamis and their history in your au. SHES STUNNING OH MY GOSH. It’s been ages since I’ve caught up with the show and who knows if I will at this point, but while I do have a soft spot for Mari I do love Mei and the idea that her flaws are seen by others and aren’t just events that happen when she’s alone. Also that she’s lonely and uses being a superhero to cope since in the canon over time being Ladybug was more of a burden. The colors are gorgeous!! Having a more flashy outfit works so well to contrast her civilian feelings of being ignored or laughed at. Even tho her civilian design is super cute who could be mean to her when she’s so pink! Can’t wait to see what you do with everyone else this was so fun and inspiring to watch! Also. As a lore person. Love the new lore.

Omg I LOVE your art style. It's soooo cute. I've seen many people rewrite and redesign Miraculous, but they keep the characters pretty similar. I love the idea that Ladybug is the chaotic one who gets into trouble, the one that acts before she thinks. I think it's a fun twist. And how her grandfather is the one that comes to Paris with her rather than her parents. I cannot wait for more.
What you said at the beginning is very valid, like, I literally don't have the energy to comment on videos like this, I don't know how to explain everything I feel and think about, it would be to much, and if I write less it might not contribute to the video anyway, so I simply don't comment anything 😅
This is rlly good! I was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of kwamis initially and was scared this was just another entire rewrite like certain redesign videos, but this was rlly well balanced! I can still feel the same potential I felt for the show years ago and I can't wait to see more :D

OHHHH I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY- Your art style is so damn cute and vibrant! I find it funny Mei and Mei Mei have the same name and similar mothers. I like the kwami lore as well as the designs themselves. I don’t think I can choose a favorite. A lot of people in rewrites took the route of Adrien (or in this case Amoric) being the only one to destroy akumatized objects which is probably the best thing to do if you wanna keep canon. And getting rid of the “fix everything” aspect is also good for balance. The one thing I kinda didn’t like was changing the Lucky Charm since it’s supposed to be “lucky” so Mei having to create the item may play more into the creativity aspect of the miraculous but it kinda takes away from the “luck” aspect. At least with the canon lucky charm it has both aspects. I do like how you kept most of Marinette’s flaws and put them into Mei and I like how you gave La Cinelle an ego that gets her into trouble since canon!Ladybug has one too (the show kinda just refuses to acknowledge it) Over all I’m very excited to see where this re-write goes.
Yeah looking back I’m not too satisfied with the change I made to her ability, I think I’m gonna try to merge the two, like maybe the lucky charm is a piece of something she’d have to create to solve the problem and she has to figure out what said thing is, if that makes sense 😭
@@iianarchiiii It does. What would make it more “lucky” is maybe getting rid of the whole “lucky charm is never wrong” aspect. Have it so the item/part she creates is purely based on what Mei thinks is right at the time. Not only does this built up the “lucky” aspect, but it also builds the stakes higher.
okay one thing i loved is that you changed the hair color. bc in the show like its sooooooo fucking obvious that it’s them like idk if the masks fucked up their vision but like yeah. so thank you for doing that, it was a rlly nice detail! and ur art style is so cute you’re a very good artist

A big issue I always had with Marinette (aside from the stalking and Mary Sue bit) was always her clothes- I mean, if she wants to be a fashion designer, NO WAY is she gonna make it with that kind of style- but she could if she wore your design lol
Hey! i LOOOOOOOVE your reimagining of MIRACULOUS! what will the title be now instead of "Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir"? i ABSOLUTELY ADORE Meiqi, La Cinelle, & Tikki 🌸🐞(OMG I want this Tikki as a PLUSHIE ) Anyways, to help even more for the next characters (the support ones), i had an idea for Meiqi's parents appearance (& aesthetic for their work hours in the restaurant): Meiqi's Mom: Hair: Long, dark, and wavy with a few natural pink streaks, reflecting Meiqi's pink-streaked hair. styled in a low ponytail or bun. Skin Tone: Warm, medium-dark, similar to Meiqi's, with a healthy glow. Eyes: Large and expressive, deep brown. Facial Features: Gentle and refined, with high cheekbones, a delicate nose, and full lips. She has a warm and inviting smile. Fashion Style: Practical yet elegant, wearing simple blouses and comfortable skirts or pants that allow for easy movement while working. She might also wear traditional Chinese aprons with beautiful floral embroidery. Accessories: Minimal jewelry, like small earrings and a simple necklace, focusing on practicality. Hi hi hello!! I’m really happy you guys are liking my take on MLB! There’s a few mini changes I wanted to make and a quick clarification
1. While Mei is based on Marinette, she’s meant to be a separate character and that applies to all characters made in this series
2. Someone just made it aware to me that it’s more likely that Marinette’s mom is implied to be from southern China because of her last name, I decided to look into it and decided that Mei will be from Yangzhou! Which actually works out really well as in my au het parents have a restaurant and cafe and it’s a pretty prominent area good food!
3. People pointed out that my interpretation of lucky charm kinda removes the luck aspect of it, and I have to agree 😭, so I’ll be adjusting it to where lucky charm gives her a piece of an overall creation she has to make to solve the problem, like how tinker belle takes the found things she has to make new things, that way I can balance the luck aspect with the creativity aspect
Edit!: I have some more things I need to correct!!!
4. With the peacock miraculous I got my words mixed up, I meant Vitality, not Viability, sorry 😭

Oooo while I don't really know if this would work, it's a cute little suggestion that may be fun- What if Mei when creating her "lucky charm" got those items from people later in the day? OR had various ways that luck would be on her side while making the lucky item such as increased creation speed (like she's just really focused idk) one day or a random item that is exactly or a substitute to what she needs and luckily (lol) got flung towards her while Chat noir is fighting a villain. Again, just a silly suggestion and I'd love to see what you do with Chat Noir!

I love this redesign! I especially love how marinette’s hair is more wavy and her skin tone is more tanned, since as a Chinese person myself i see a lot of toxic asian beautify standards such as having pale skin is better etc. Also love how there is more cultural references in her outfits. This is also really specific but it makes me pretty happy that she lives with her grandfather since i was also raised by my grandparents.
Marinette is originally mixed (Chinese & French I think), since her dad is white (from what I've heard) and her mom is Asian. It'd make sense for her skin to be pale since I mean, her dads pale too & so is her mother. In her drafts she definitely does have more Asian features that lets people know that she's mixed, but they decided to add blue eyes to her (which I feel wasn't that necessary, since her dad has green, and her mom has gray, but then again genes are crazy like that). I don't think that classifying Marinettes character as someone who follows the "Asian beauty standards" just because she looks more white than Asian due to her pale skin is fair to mixed people who white pass, since it could definitely make them feel erased. People's looks are usually based off of their parents dominant and recessive genes, so a lot of her traits probably come from her dad rather than her mom, and to me its normal to have mixed traits and still look more this than that, because generations do exist & even though mutations are rare, they aren't entirely impossible.

That was not my intention at all, and they are absolutely beautiful and valid as well. When I talked about toxic asian beauty standards i meant that those are the standards pushed by many East Asian societies, not that Marinette;s design intentionally plays into those stereotypes and standards. Because I personally am surrounded by a lot of East Asian cultural influences and trends, it was refreshing to see a part Chinese character being designed to look like what a large majority of Chinese and mixed Chinese people look like.

It always made no sense to me that she can't speak chinese at all. It would absolutely make sense that she wouldn't be fluent or would have a thick accent. But Sabine seems to be so proud of being chinese that I don't understand why she wouldn't share her culture with her daughter.
I mean, her parents saved up for years so she could go to Shanghai, why would they do that and not teach her a little bit of chinese???
I'd make a bit of an argument if Sabine hadn't been back home in a while, my mother is half Kenyan, and spent a stint in Zambia, but she speaks very little Swahili nowadays and didn't teach any of us it. It wasn't because she wasn't proud of her heritage, but because she doesn't need to use it here and therefore didn't see a reason for it to benefit us. The thing is, Sabine DOES go back to china and keep in contact with her side of the family, and she very much should be teaching marinette her own language

She would sing to me in Hindi but I learned no Gujarati or Swahili because I didn’t have enough time immersed in it and she focused more on my learning to speak ‘useful languages,’ in her eyes such as Spanish. She was always speaking English to my Dad, so there was no natural picking up of the language either. Whether that comes from internalised racism or in her case a complicated relationship with her family and upbringing, or some combination is a separate question but it does happen. It would’ve been interesting to see a conversation between Marinette and her mother about why she didn’t teach her and how she feels a bit alienated from that part of her culture and family but I doubt they did anything like that? (I haven’t watched ML since like S2)

I love this idea! Usually I see redesigns go along the lines to desaturate Marinette’s flaws to make them more acceptable, but I think ditching try e most extreme (and downright creepy) ones to focus on the more “innocent” ones like attachment issues, ego, and irresponsibility is great! I love flawed characters, especially when the storyline forces them to overcome said flaws, and I love them even better when they’re human instead of just an idolized superhero. Marinette’s a teenager! She’s in peak character development time!

10:09 kinda off topic but one of my favorite (kinda) flawed characters has always been Sakura from Cardcaptor Sakura. She goes from not knowing anything about her secret powers, to surpassing one of the greatest sorcerers of all time, and she does struggle with it, but wins in the end. I also like how they also gave her time to have an innocent romance with one of the characters, while still growing up and getting stronger. It’s one of my favorite anime’s , and the writing is really cute!!

One thing to at I really wish this show leaned into more was the creation destruction dynamic.
They could have emphasized marinette being a fashion designer and artist. That would’ve really tied her to tikki as a god of creation better.
For Adrian I think it would have been really interesting to be more subtle with his connection. He’s a charmer with natural charisma. He seemingly has his stuff together. If marinette is so obviously thematically connected to tikki then it would make Adrian’s apparent lack of connection to plagg stand out. That is, until we see how SELF destructive he is. Instead of putting destruction out into the world the way marinette does with creation, he focuses his destruction inward. It would also create a delectable “it gets worse before it gets better” plot line.
This show gives me so much brain rot pls free me from this self imposed prison cell

This is by far of of the best takes I’ve ever seen on her, she is so adorable and still has that sort of naive oblivious personality without it being her ENTIRE thing, they’re all so cute and I loved them both so much! 🌸🐞
I thought maybe the miraculouses themselves could sense who would be the right person to be their holder. Even if the Kwamis would have problems with morals like you said, I still think that humans also couldn't make the choice of who can have a miraculous even if they have the best intentions, they could still train and help people with their miraculouses but they could not choose directly who will use it. This would also help avoid problems with people stealing them because when a miraculous chose someone it would find a way to get to that person and would only be "activated" when the right time comes or if there is an emergency that causes this "safe mode" to disable for a while, so anyone could have a miraculous in camouflage mode and no one would know, and therefore could not be easily stolen or misused, and yes, I would like this to happen with the characters in the series, everyone would have their miraculous before becoming heroes but they wouldn't know it. As for the villains, since the miraculous were damaged this "security" would have been corrupted and that is why they could use them, This would also help a little with Gabriel's issue, if the idea was to make him an empathetic villain then it would be easier if the butterfly miraculous was also damaged, if both were lost in the same place why would one be damaged and the other not? So the butterfly miraculous would also be damaged but it wouldn't be apparent at first, it would affect the mind instead of the body making Gabriel start to go crazy little by little just wearing the miraculous, making him start beeing Hawk Moth and when he realized that this miraculous is also damaged it would no longer matter cause he would be crazy enough to not care. That way it would be easier to see him as someone decent or even actually simpathetic because he is being affected by something he has no control over.
I think the AU name should be "Nouvelle Vie" which translates to "new life" in french which would hone in on the fact that its a New life and something that isn't like just redesigning the characters outfits like i've scene many youtuber's do, instead you are making a WHOLE new world with the bare minimum of the og story which i find to be amazing so far!!!!

AHHHH I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!! I’ve always thought that the concept of miraculous was wasted on the show we got and every time I watch it I am reminded of how badly the plot and characters are written. Like they did Chloe’s character so dirty. They built up a really interesting redemption arc and then were like “you know what? Nahhhh the rich mean girl has to stay the rich mean girl and let’s make her stupid.”
I will always hate the writers for that, it was lazy, especially since they just replaced her with Zoe (not saying I hate Zoe, just let’s be real, the only reason she is in the show is to replace Chloe as the bee holder). That being said, I’m really excited to see your version of Chloe and the other characters! I also liked how you made the miracle box smaller, I feel like it’s too complicated to keep up with how many heroes there were in season 4, especially with how oddly specific majority of the kwami’s powers are. I’m so excited to follow along as you create this au!!💖

I always think of how much POTENTIAL this show has and how much the fumbled. The bones are so strong with the magic system, love square, and setting. The writing is just so bad, the romance so awkward because they’re essentially middleschoolers, and the lack of direction obvious. I love when people age up the characters because every “romantic” interaction in the show kills me with second hand embarrassment because I’m like you’re 13 sit down.
Tbh I’m perfectly fine with awkward romance, it can be cute, the problem isn’t that the romance is awkward, the problem is that it’s awkward THE ENTIRE TIME 😭 especially for Adrinette , up until they’re randomly put together in season 5 and then it’s overly forced, cheesy, and full of cliche conflicts (like the Romeo and Juliet plot) which is weird because the team IS CAPABLE of writing cute genuine romance, Lukanette being the best example, hell even Alya and Nino can be a good example
I love the idea of pivoting the "IRL focus" to a toy line of fashion dolls! All of these designs look super fun and have so much personality 🐞

It’s been ages since I’ve caught up with the show and who knows if I will at this point, but while I do have a soft spot for Mari I do love Mei and the idea that her flaws are seen by others and aren’t just events that happen when she’s alone. Also that she’s lonely and uses being a superhero to cope since in the canon over time being Ladybug was more of a burden. The colors are gorgeous!! Having a more flashy outfit works so well to contrast her civilian feelings of being ignored or laughed at. Even tho her civilian design is super cute who could be mean to her when she’s so pink! This is rlly good! I was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of kwamis initially and was scared this was just another entire rewrite like certain redesign videos, but this was rlly well balanced! I can still feel the same potential I felt for the show years ago and I can't wait to see more :D

Your art style is so damn cute and vibrant! I find it funny Mei and Mei Mei have the same name and similar mothers. I like the kwami lore as well as the designs themselves. I don’t think I can choose a favorite.
A lot of people in rewrites took the route of Adrien (or in this case Amoric) being the only one to destroy akumatized objects which is probably the best thing to do if you wanna keep canon. And getting rid of the “fix everything” aspect is also good for balance.
The one thing I kinda didn’t like was changing the Lucky Charm since it’s supposed to be “lucky” so Mei having to create the item may play more into the creativity aspect of the miraculous but it kinda takes away from the “luck” aspect. At least with the canon lucky charm it has both aspects.
I do like how you kept most of Marinette’s flaws and put them into Mei and I like how you gave La Cinelle an ego that gets her into trouble since canon!Ladybug has one too (the show kinda just refuses to acknowledge it)
Over all I’m very excited to see where this re-write goes.
Yeah looking back I’m not too satisfied with the change I made to her ability, I think I’m gonna try to merge the two, like maybe the lucky charm is a piece of something she’d have to create to solve the problem and she has to figure out what said thing is, if that makes sense 😭
@@iianarchiiii It does. What would make it more “lucky” is maybe getting rid of the whole “lucky charm is never wrong” aspect. Have it so the item/part she creates is purely based on what Mei thinks is right at the time. Not only does this built up the “lucky” aspect, but it also builds the stakes higher.

I really like the redesign of lady bugs outfit except for one thing: the heels. They’re the opposite of practical when fighting.

I LOVE how her civilian outfit has.... well... MORE to it! And her supersuit, respectively. A big issue I always had with Marinette (aside from the stalking and Mary Sue bit) was always her clothes- I mean, if she wants to be a fashion designer, NO WAY is she gonna make it with that kind of style- but she could if she wore your design lol

Anyways, to help even more for the next characters (the support ones), i had an idea for Meiqi's parents appearance (& aesthetic for their work hours in the restaurant):
Meiqi's Mom:
Hair: Long, dark, and wavy with a few natural pink streaks, reflecting Meiqi's pink-streaked hair. styled in a low ponytail or bun.
Skin Tone: Warm, medium-dark, similar to Meiqi's, with a healthy glow.
Eyes: Large and expressive, deep brown.
Facial Features: Gentle and refined, with high cheekbones, a delicate nose, and full lips. She has a warm and inviting smile.
Fashion Style: Practical yet elegant, wearing simple blouses and comfortable skirts or pants that allow for easy movement while working. She might also wear traditional Chinese aprons with beautiful floral embroidery.
Accessories: Minimal jewelry, like small earrings and a simple necklace, focusing on practicality. She may wear a delicate band to keep her hair in place while working.
Meiqi's Dad:
