My main problem with Chloé is that they waited until Season 5 to have her face the consequences of her actions. And I’m sorry, but that girl barely shows any signs of remorse for her actions, especially with the akumatizations that she’s caused, either directly or indirectly.
I think CHloe could be redeemed but she didn't needed to be Queen Bee for that. And she didn't realised it. During season 3 Cat noir and Ladybug where just saing, we don't need you now, and she didn't realised that they where trying to suggest, look you cannot be a superhero anymore. But she admired Ladybug so much. She was probably the only person she had respect for. And she wanted to be like her. Thas sad. She sould face the consequancess of her actions, but the way they wrote this was, just bad.
That's true. Even though I would have preferred for the director to be more mature (either by letting the writers continue with the redemption or at least let everyone know that it wasn't his original plan but it'll be added to the plot in a way that still satisfies the "people don't change" idea while giving the writers more to work with), Chloe should have faced consequences earlier. I mean, there are characters that pretend to be good but in reality they never changed from their past behavior 😅 (I can't think of them right now but it does happen) so it would have been perfect for Chloe. And I also agree that they weren't ready to make the show have mature and complex topics. They should have stuck to the original more comedic take (even if it was just cringe) instead of trying to add trauma and remove the complexity from other characters that aren't Marinette 😅
They should have just committed to her redemption arc after Season 2, so she can spend the remaining seasons making up for her actions like most characters who get redemeed like Prince Zuko from Avatar or Amity from the Owl House. But no, Tomas Astruc hates complex characters and just wants everything to be as black and white as possible. And when he does give a character redemption, it feels rushed, out of nowhere, and undesereved like Gabriel and Andre. The same goes for Felix. He should have stayed an ani-hero/anti-villian because the show doesn't have a character like that who supports the good guys AND the bad guys for the sake of his own goals.

EXACTLY, yes she doesn’t bully her to her face like Chloe does to people, but frankly, the way Marinette bullied kagami is not only worse, but unfortunately more common and realistic to what bullying is today 😕 and I hate how people try to deny it

The thing with Chloe is that it's clear that something has changed, Thomas could simply admit that he doesn't want redemption because there are already too many good characters and someone needs to be bad, but instead of doing that he responded by saying that she can't change and that she is an example of people who don't change even though the series shows adult characters changing while she still is a 14 year old girl, not to mention the bad influence on her entire life, what do the other characters have to justify their "redemption" that she doesn't? That's the problem, if he admitted that he didn't want that for her it would be fine, but what he said seems more like excuses than a real explanation of why he made that choice.

Only way canon Chloe would get a redemption is if the little girl now a woman who Astruc definitely based her on apologised to him and proved she was a good person.
I think the entire problem that a lot of people have with how the show handled Chloe as a character (minus everything else that you brought up) is that it's just hypocritical to hold Chloe to the standards of being a 'good realistic person, but none of the other characters are held to that extreme. All of the characters act a little cartoony at some points and get away with it, but Chloe is held to a completely different standard. I didn't think about how they spent to much time on Chloe's villainous activities compared to the others, but I always liked Chloe because I find her to be one of the more complex characters.

Idk if you aiming for this but I love the hints that most of the adults are the issues and not the children that are literally fixing their the problems. And I totally agree the latest seasons really uped the evilness for chloe but they completely forgot Felix and Lila. Felix, stole all the jewels and gave them to hawk moth, killed people and that weird scene with marionette like just because they have him a “sad” backstory which didn't really do anything. Like they could have fleshed out him and his mom but chose to drag Chloe instead. Lila, SHE helps Chloe like why are they trying to make her seem mysterious when she done worse to marinette life than the petty comments Chloe made. But to end on a positive I once again just want to remake these clothes in real life and wear them

Right off the bat, I wanna just thank you for not doing that thing people do with their re-writes of Chloe of just letting her have the bee at first but then giving it to someone else when they write her to screw up with it. You actually committed to Chloe/Gen as the bee holder and made her work for it Instead of just replacing her later. I notice a pattern with the way people work around the identity thing and have them have a “shadow mask”. I agree with basically everything you said about Chloe and how the show treated her. I ESPECIALLY agree with what was said about how the show handled her parental abuse issues. The fact Astruc has stated he doesn’t see Chloe as an abuse victim has made me think so damn lowly of him as a writer. 5. GEN/HONEY QUEEN LOOKS SO DAMN CUTE! 6. I also like how you shifted Pollen’s personality. I always thought the way Pollen was represented in the show was off. I know it was to represent a worker bee and their queen but honestly Chloe needed a better guide in Pollen. One that’s still loving but not a push over. And finally 7. I’m a little disappointed Alya isn’t next on the list (I have my mixed feelings on Luka and I honestly think he’s overrated buuut I’m not the majority of the fandom so-) Edit: SAPPHIC GENNY FOR THE FUCKING WIN, LETS GOOOO! Agreed We aren't stupid Thomas. We have functioning memories and since this is aimed at children I'm more invested in the messages conveyed to the audience. Telling kids that if they're abusers mistreat them and they lash out that they DESERVE abuse or to be replaced like they had Andre replace Chloe with Zoe and fully acknowledge Audrey's abuse while giving her full custody of Chloe is a HORRIBLE message in a kid's show. He doesn't actually OWN the IP though. Zag Entertainment does. Once something goes into production and other writers get involved you have to let go of some of the creative control. His hissy fit lead to the improper priorities in the writing with the villains.
I was so happy to hear the Mei like reached out to Genevieve and like welcomed her as apart of the group. Genuinely this is one of the best reimagining of a show that I've ever seen!
I only watched S1-3, so I have no idea about the Chloe drama. However, as I “member” of the Quantic Kid fandom, we were robbed of the best version of Chloe - Allegra! I headcanon her as the white owl miraculous user. Her weapon is a flute, and she can use her music to mind control people. She would also have wings to fly and owl like abilities.
I absolutely LOVE these "Arrogant anti-hero who learns to be a better person" type of arcs, so much so that one of my favorite series is Darkwing Duck (even with reservations-) and I have an OC that has this arc. I have some questions about the "Hawk Moth" from your AU, but I think they'll only be answered in HIS video, so I'll leave it for later... Are the Miraculous known by people? Because I think it would be really crazy to think that people have never seen masked people around the world or something like that. Are Arnarka (I don't know how to spell her name-) and Jagged still divorced? If so, is there some other reason that's different from the one in the series? (Example: The two broke up because of some plot by Bob Roth when he found out that Arnaka was pregnant, or maybe they broke up because they didn't love each other anymore, because it happens that parents no longer have the same love as before and get divorced because of that). I love that Gevevieve is more down to earth omg, her design is so cute and absolutely fits the bee vibes (especially the honey cone patterns). Her being around the main characters AND having connections to possible villains already makes her so interesting, I wonder how much she can figure out using her connections :0
When it comes to chole's redemption to me it was more about the message it could have sent vs the message that it did. For kids it is easy to accept good and bad as black and white but chole's redemption could have been a way to show everyone deserves a chance to change but due to the abrupt change in the redemption younger kids are more likely to interpret it as bad people will always be bad. And like you said if we wanted a redemption story we could look elsewhere however with the type of show that miraculous is being a hero show I feel like it would be a cool way to show kids that you can help people more than just fighting the bad guys

I don't know how many know or even noticed that the most unredeemable people in Thomas's eyes are all woman. Or at least ones that don't deserve redemption, Chloe, Lila, Chloe's mom. While yes two of them are unredeemable, how is Gabe not? How is Andre, someone just as bad as his wife, redeemable?!?

I’m 100% gonna make an OC for some of the new kuamiis which I personally love how they all look. When I used to watch the show Cholé always annoyed me but to she her reimagined to this actually made me like her a little. She deserves better writing and better story telling but we got what we got.

I really love what you did with her, this AU just reminded why i stopped liking the series(at least one of many reasons), it was because the characters had stopped feeling like that and started feeling more like vessels to make thomas favorite oc look better. Keep up working! Your art is amazing!
Awesome redesign of Chloe! And Agreed! Thomas is a terrible writer and a hypocrite when it comes to redemption arcs and it is so hypocritical that Gabriel gets redeemed over Chloe when Gabriel done worst things than her.
The creator saying that people like Chloe dont change honestly makes me think he based it off a bully in his past and just wants to use the character as a catharsis. I love your reimagining, both in the outfit design and character arc. Now i just gotta watch the series from the start, this popped up in my recommended before any of the others 😂

She plays such an important role now Also I love that you were able to properly touch upon the complex topics more properly than what they did in the show.

I personally believe very strongly that Chloé herself could have become a good character, even after they threw her redemption arc out the window. They just needed to write her properly, but no, instead, they made Chloé a thousand times worse to somehow justify how they had writen her? I mean, even after the redemption arc, she could have been a good anti-hero or even an antagonist, but instead, they decided to keep Chloé as the evil mean girl. How I personally would have written Chloé as an anti-hero or antagonist: Instead of losing her Miraculous, she could have kept it and acted as a sort of third faction, alongside Ladybug and Hawk Moth, where she fights against both Ladybug and Hawk Moth to prove that she is better than Ladybug. However, she always ends up being defeated, which leads her to start doubting herself. This would be exploited by Lila, giving Lila much more character development as she uses Chloé as a kind of weapon in the big fights, before ultimately abandoning Chloé.

I like this Chloé a lot, story and design. My favorite part is how she loses everything after the akumatization, but works hard to improve herself with people and eventually finding a way to retrieve the Bee Miraculous. Also, you clocked it with the last segment. Miraculous has such a strange brand of sexism. The show puts Marinette on such a pedestal, girl power and all, and the yin-yang thing she’s supposed to have with Chat Noir is so out of balance because he gets clowned on all series in various aspects. And then you step outside the main two and if a female character is mildly antagonistic, she gets treated so much worse than her closest male counterpart. (Chloé, Audrey, Lila - Felix, André, Gabriel)
Honestly its amazing that u have 9k followers with ONLY 11 videos, it rlly comes to show how good and unique ur art is and im glad ure getting the recognition u deserve (and u deserve even more). If I had two nickels for every time my first name was used for the "mean girl" in a story, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice. To be honest as a person who really loved Chloe's character I can definitely say that she was done dirty with out a shadow of a doubt, because let me be completely honest, she might have been a little sassy and rude at times, but I couldn't compare her to that one girl with green eyes and Burnette girl she's worse than Chloe 💀 To be honest, a part of me thought that Chloe was the only decent person. In the show, a little bit because yes, while her wrongs were always called out, and she was always called out. Everybody else was a terrible person and just got a Pat on the back for it, the main character with the blue hair terrible person creepy woman girl type energy she was a stalker 💀 How is Chloe the only one always like, you know, portrayed as negative when she talk to the blue girl with no respect I don't think she deserved respect is the blue haired one nice to her friends, yes, is she pretty much nice to people and save people, yes, but at the end of the day, it don't take away the fact that she was creepy and she stalked somebody and would collect things from Adrian I got a bone to pick with the fact that they put her with Adrian knowing what she was like ✨ I'm sorry, but I was like, fuck that I got to go all out I got lots of defense for Chloe and I'm not a big fan of her, obviously, but I could tell that she was done dirty even if I don't really watch the show, all like that that much anymore anyway good art she's giving a rich person I love it

Very creative, interesting, boosting my own creativity (which i actually needed) Have you though of drawing streams, where instead of worrying about the lenght of the video you would just put the camera on and talked about your thoughts, your proces, figuring the different paths and so on and so on?
I love this suggestion! And I have thought about it several times in the past, because a big struggle with these videos is making enough art to justify the video run time, while also making it in a reasonable timeframe that appeases the algorithm, AND balancing college and a part time job 😔 my only concern is that the ability to edit my videos gives me a lot more structure and control, but if I can find a way to do that with streaming I’d love to do it

To add on to the point made that ended at 5:38 (rant time) in one episode of season 5, aka the WORST episode because of all the plot holes it made, Rose mentioned that Chloe is only like this because her mom left her, but then Melina (hopefully I spelled that right, not because I like the character but because it would be unprofessional) had the “genius” idea to say, “so did yours but you don’t bully her (Mari)”. You have no idea how much that pissed me off. So Rose’s mom left too, yet she’s fine, nice, good for her, THAT DOESN’T MEAN ANYTHING! In addition to everyone being different and reaching differently to trauma, sure Rose’s mom left, but you know who she DID have? HER FATHER! She actually had A good parental figure in her life, Chloe didn’t! I wouldn’t be surprised if Zoe had a good dad too! So not only is it stupid to think that EVERYONE would react in the exact same way and if not they’re evil, but they don’t even have a right to compare because their situations are NOT THE SAME!

This is absolutely why that i made this fanfiction story of Chloe's new life in the new universe called The Unknown League Universe where she abandoned her old life and leaving Monarch to his victory with Horror Marinette and Horror Adrien (references of Horror Mario in Mario Madness FNF Mod V2) Chloe meets new friends and family and i made her into an anime character because of new designs for her and she'll become a better hero and leader/mother than Ladybug, Andre and Audrey. I'm really angry at Thomas Astruc and mostly Andre he threw his own daughter away and he thought he's a great father but no he's still a failure father and i also made that Marinette finally has consequences for her actions and fails to become a hero. Chloe definitely deserves better.

My main problem with Chloé is that they waited until Season 5 to have her face the consequences of her actions. And I’m sorry, but that girl barely shows any signs of remorse for her actions, especially with the akumatizations that she’s caused, either directly or indirectly.

I think CHloe could be redeemed but she didn't needed to be Queen Bee for that. And she didn't realised it. During season 3 Cat noir and Ladybug where just saing, we don't need you now, and she didn't realised that they where trying to suggest, look you cannot be a superhero anymore. But she admired Ladybug so much. She was probably the only person she had respect for. And she wanted to be like her. Thas sad. She sould face the consequancess of her actions, but the way they wrote this was, just bad.
That's true. Even though I would have preferred for the director to be more mature (either by letting the writers continue with the redemption or at least let everyone know that it wasn't his original plan but it'll be added to the plot in a way that still satisfies the "people don't change" idea while giving the writers more to work with), Chloe should have faced consequences earlier.
I mean, there are characters that pretend to be good but in reality they never changed from their past behavior 😅 (I can't think of them right now but it does happen) so it would have been perfect for Chloe.
And I also agree that they weren't ready to make the show have mature and complex topics. They should have stuck to the original more comedic take (even if it was just cringe) instead of trying to add trauma and remove the complexity from other characters that aren't Marinette 😅
They should have just committed to her redemption arc after Season 2, so she can spend the remaining seasons making up for her actions like most characters who get redemeed like Prince Zuko from Avatar or Amity from the Owl House. But no, Tomas Astruc hates complex characters and just wants everything to be as black and white as possible. And when he does give a character redemption, it feels rushed, out of nowhere, and undesereved like Gabriel and Andre. The same goes for Felix. He should have stayed an ani-hero/anti-villian because the show doesn't have a character like that who supports the good guys AND the bad guys for the sake of his own goals.

The thing with Chloe is that it's clear that something has changed, Thomas could simply admit that he doesn't want redemption because there are already too many good characters and someone needs to be bad, but instead of doing that he responded by saying that she can't change and that she is an example of people who don't change even though the series shows adult characters changing while she still is a 14 year old girl, not to mention the bad influence on her entire life, what do the other characters have to justify their "redemption" that she doesn't? That's the problem, if he admitted that he didn't want that for her it would be fine, but what he said seems more like excuses than a real explanation of why he made that choice.

I think the entire problem that a lot of people have with how the show handled Chloe as a character (minus everything else that you brought up) is that it's just hypocritical to hold Chloe to the standards of being a 'good realistic person, but none of the other characters are held to that extreme. All of the characters act a little cartoony at some points and get away with it, but Chloe is held to a completely different standard.
I didn't think about how they spent to much time on Chloe's villainous activities compared to the others, but I always liked Chloe because I find her to be one of the more complex characters.

Idk if you aiming for this but I love the hints that most of the adults are the issues and not the children that are literally fixing their the problems.
And I totally agree the latest seasons really uped the evilness for chloe but they completely forgot Felix and Lila.
Felix, stole all the jewels and gave them to hawk moth, killed people and that weird scene with marionette like just because they have him a “sad” backstory which didn't really do anything. Like they could have fleshed out him and his mom but chose to drag Chloe instead.
Lila, SHE helps Chloe like why are they trying to make her seem mysterious when she done worse to marinette life than the petty comments Chloe made.
But to end on a positive I once again just want to remake these clothes in real life and wear them

Right off the bat, I wanna just thank you for not doing that thing people do with their re-writes of Chloe of just letting her have the bee at first but then giving it to someone else when they write her to screw up with it. You actually committed to Chloe/Gen as the bee holder and made her work for it Instead of just replacing her later. THANK GOD- (Although now she’s probably gonna have to be real careful since HM knows who she is-)
2. I notice a pattern with the way people work around the identity thing and have them have a “shadow mask”. The Artistic Aloubell did a similar thing with her rewrite of MLB and I think that’s really cool!

Agreed We aren't stupid Thomas. We have functioning memories and since this is aimed at children I'm more invested in the messages conveyed to the audience. Telling kids that if they're abusers mistreat them and they lash out that they DESERVE abuse or to be replaced like they had Andre replace Chloe with Zoe and fully acknowledge Audrey's abuse while giving her full custody of Chloe is a HORRIBLE message in a kid's show. He doesn't actually OWN the IP though. Zag Entertainment does. Once something goes into production and other writers get involved you have to let go of some of the creative control. His hissy fit lead to the improper priorities in the writing with the villains.

I headcanon her as the white owl miraculous user. Her weapon is a flute, and she can use her music to mind control people. She would also have wings to fly and owl like abilities.

When it comes to chole's redemption to me it was more about the message it could have sent vs the message that it did. For kids it is easy to accept good and bad as black and white but chole's redemption could have been a way to show everyone deserves a chance to change but due to the abrupt change in the redemption younger kids are more likely to interpret it as bad people will always be bad. And like you said if we wanted a redemption story we could look elsewhere however with the type of show that miraculous is being a hero show I feel like it would be a cool way to show kids that you can help people more than just fighting the bad guys

I personally believe very strongly that Chloé herself could have become a good character, even after they threw her redemption arc out the window. They just needed to write her properly, but no, instead, they made Chloé a thousand times worse to somehow justify how they had writen her? I mean, even after the redemption arc, she could have been a good anti-hero or even an antagonist, but instead, they decided to keep Chloé as the evil mean girl.
How I personally would have written Chloé as an anti-hero or antagonist: Instead of losing her Miraculous, she could have kept it and acted as a sort of third faction, alongside Ladybug and Hawk Moth, where she fights against both Ladybug and Hawk Moth to prove that she is better than Ladybug. However, she always ends up being defeated, which leads her to start doubting herself. This would be exploited by Lila, giving Lila much more character development as she uses Chloé as a kind of weapon in the big fights, before ultimately abandoning Chloé.

I like this Chloé a lot, story and design. My favorite part is how she loses everything after the akumatization, but works hard to improve herself with people and eventually finding a way to retrieve the Bee Miraculous.
Also, you clocked it with the last segment. Miraculous has such a strange brand of sexism. The show puts Marinette on such a pedestal, girl power and all, and the yin-yang thing she’s supposed to have with Chat Noir is so out of balance because he gets clowned on all series in various aspects. And then you step outside the main two and if a female character is mildly antagonistic, she gets treated so much worse than her closest male counterpart. (Chloé, Audrey, Lila - Felix, André, Gabriel)
Honestly its amazing that u have 9k followers with ONLY 11 videos, it rlly comes to show how good and unique ur art is and im glad ure getting the recognition u deserve (and u deserve even more). To be honest as a person who really loved Chloe's character I can definitely say that she was done dirty with out a shadow of a doubt, because let me be completely honest, she might have been a little sassy and rude at times, but I couldn't compare her to that one girl with green eyes and Burnette girl she's worse than Chloe 💀 To be honest, a part of me thought that Chloe was the only decent person. In the show, a little bit because yes, while her wrongs were always called out, and she was always called out. Everybody else was a terrible person and just got a Pat on the back for it, the main character with the blue hair terrible person creepy woman girl type energy she was a stalker 💀 How is Chloe the only one always like, you know, portrayed as negative when she talk to the blue girl with no respect I don't think she deserved respect is the blue haired one nice to her friends, yes, is she pretty much nice to people and save people, yes, but at the end of the day, it don't take away the fact that she was creepy and she stalked somebody and would collect things from Adrian I got a bone to pick with the fact that they put her with Adrian knowing what she was like ✨ I'm sorry, but I was like, fuck that I got to go all out I got lots of defense for Chloe and I'm not a big fan of her, obviously, but I could tell that she was done dirty even if I don't really watch the show, all like that that much anymore anyway good art she's giving a rich person I love it

And I have thought about it several times in the past, because a big struggle with these videos is making enough art to justify the video run time, while also making it in a reasonable timeframe that appeases the algorithm, AND balancing college and a part time job 😔 my only concern is that the ability to edit my videos gives me a lot more structure and control, but if I can find a way to do that with streaming I’d love to do it

To add on to the point made that ended at 5:38 (rant time) in one episode of season 5, aka the WORST episode because of all the plot holes it made, Rose mentioned that Chloe is only like this because her mom left her, but then Melina (hopefully I spelled that right, not because I like the character but because it would be unprofessional) had the “genius” idea to say, “so did yours but you don’t bully her (Mari)”. You have no idea how much that pissed me off. So Rose’s mom left too, yet she’s fine, nice, good for her, THAT DOESN’T MEAN ANYTHING! In addition to everyone being different and reaching differently to trauma, sure Rose’s mom left, but you know who she DID have? HER FATHER! She actually had A good parental figure in her life, Chloe didn’t! I wouldn’t be surprised if Zoe had a good dad too! So not only is it stupid to think that EVERYONE would react in the exact same way and if not they’re evil, but they don’t even have a right to compare because their situations are NOT THE SAME!

This is absolutely why that i made this fanfiction story of Chloe's new life in the new universe called The Unknown League Universe where she abandoned her old life and leaving Monarch to his victory with Horror Marinette and Horror Adrien (references of Horror Mario in Mario Madness FNF Mod V2)
Chloe meets new friends and family and i made her into an anime character because of new designs for her and she'll become a better hero and leader/mother than Ladybug, Andre and Audrey.
I'm really angry at Thomas Astruc and mostly Andre he threw his own daughter away and he thought he's a great father but no he's still a failure father and i also made that Marinette finally has consequences for her actions and fails to become a hero.
Chloe definitely deserves better.
