SPECTRE | Plane v Car

- It’s Bond v Hinx/plane v car in this sequence from SPECTRE (2015) filmed in Austria. Special effects supervisor Chris Corbould came up with an ingenious solution for when the plane has to skid along on its fuselage. “We had skidoos mounted inside the aircrafts’ bodies,” he explains, “it could drive along the ground at high speed. It looks as though it is sliding on the snow but is actually being driven and steered from the inside.”
The acting by the right propeller was so underrated.
Yet somehow it left me spinning :-)
@@joeybrown6684 jmjjnuhjuumjjhy
Yep. Don’t think we didn’t notice the prop was black. Every year the academy snubs at least one movie with propellers, and we shouldn’t have to sit here and take this nonsense. #oscarssojet #flightthepower #wrightbrotherswerewrongandtotallyracist
Guys it is a movie, alot is fake, can you do better? For a movie, it's a fine job .....
Under rotated comment.
There's definitely some audio missing.
It's like that in the film too, the music is too loud.v
@@NathanielWhittoUpdates No seriously, the dialogue is missing.
@@WH250398 Oh, I didn't watch the full thing

I guess that could have been intentional - him yelling, since we get what he's saying, and yet... there was at least one crash and explosion that seemed to be missing its audio as well...
As a pilot I can safely say... it’s just a Bond film.
As someone that doesn't think you're a pilot I can safely say.... I don't think you're a pilot.

Ahhh, Spectre. The time that James Bond could have been easily defeated by the bad guys just slowing down and letting a crashed plane just continue down the mountain.
"Alright time for a break. Anyone need to pee? Now would be the time to do it. I've also got a thermos with coffee and a few bagels with me."
Spectre is as incompetent as Stormtroopers. They never get the job done.
But Bond wont get into that trap🤣
@@encinobalboa They get hundreds of jobs done with efficiency and ruthlessness and have a failure rate of only 0.033%, mostly spoilt by just bad (JB) luck. Boycot Bond!
@Joshua Wiltfong now that’s how you ruin a scene with a 0% recovery
What, exactly, was his plan here? "I'm going to rescue you by CRASHING A PLANE INTO THE CAR YOU'RE IN."
This is a man who decimated an entire Parish in Louisiana just to evade Pursuit.
So.... Yeah.
@Stephen Graves that's not even the most gratuitous act of wanton destruction that Bond's engaged in; this has to join a pretty long list...
Unknown to the audience, she actually texted Bond before this and said, "Come over, my parents aren't home 😘🍆"
That's what he's doing? I assumed they all died
20 years later this will seem comical
"What's the next step of your master plan?"
"Crashing this plane. WITH NO SURVIVORS"
"That's a big plane"
"For you"
I get that reference 😅
I am CIA.

Imagine trying to explain that to your insurance provider “what happened to my car? I’m going to need half an hour and a PowerPoint presentation”
Farmers Insurance: “We know a thing or two because we’ve seen a thing or two … or three, four, or five …”
When the space shuttle blew, I think it was around 1986, some of debris fell onto parked cars.
Imagine telling your insurance agency that a rocket fell on your car.
😆😆😆😆
No problem. SPECTRE can fix things like this easily with minimum turnaround time.
0:11 That was a very Roger Moore moment. A little wave and smile between him and the bad guy then back into action. I did love this as RM is my favourite bond.
Killing each other like civilized people. RM's one liners were to die for!
Roger Moore was the best!
@@mikerosoft1009 I think there was much too less RM in Craig's Bond films ...
@@100Singers Then again Craig's movies shine the most when he throws a bit of shade and irony at the older movies. In particular when it comes to Casino Royale, the blatant disregard for setting up the final "Bad guy" in advance, showing him vulnerable and him "not giving a damn" about how his Martini is served made for killer inside jokes and helped develop the character a ton. Not necessarily because it was something RM would've done, but through parodying what older bonds would've been doing. This feels like such a stinger at the older bonds, just by how over the top it is.
Roger Moore is the most overrated Bond by far
Hinx was one of the few positives in Spectre. Massively under used. Jaws survived a train fall, I’m sure Dave Bautista could and make a return.
Yes
Well he fell off a speeding train with a noose around his neck. He is likely dead.
@@trueblue6201 yep he died
I'm actually a little peeved we're getting Blofeld and Madeleine back, two incredibly dull characters, but not Hinx.
@Ian Turner Batista vs Oddjob sounds more nice
Watching random Bond scenes is a great way to procrastinate. I've learned how to kill Bautista, how to be funny while being tortured and how to fly a plane and land it without wings into a car.
"How to be funny while being tortured" lmao
Aaaah, I can't

Bond... james bond... thats how
Yeah this scene was pretty humorous huh?
I like the new Q, world's apart from the previous but the chemistry between bond and the new Q has potential.
Q is cute
@@exeterbeekeeper I agree but I liked Desmond's Q better from From Russia with Love to The World is Not Enough
Controversially, I actually prefer this Q. The portrayal is well suited for our current times. (That’s not saying I didn’t like the original Q, and even John Cleese‘s to some extent..!)
What I want back are the old gadgets. Of course, things like a smartwatch nowadays aren't as special as they were back in Octopussy, but it would still fit in my opinion.
But Spectre had a car with gadgets in Rome. They just were for a different agent and not at all the way Bond thought they would function.
Bond opening the window next to the car: "We've been trying to reach you about your cars extended warranty."
"You just took out that convoy with a plane"
Jame Bond: "I was out of bullets"
Die hard 4.0 reference
As a pilot I can say, this is perfection at its peak.
This isn't that good a movie, but I got to say, Craig finally creating the indifferent sass of James Bond in this is just great. His impudent ''Hello there, remember me? I'm the one you've just lost in Rome and I'm not gonna let you outrun me here'' stare is gold
This is me chasing the ice cream truck down in my car
Try chasing an elote truck down a crowded beach.....lol.
I see James Bond got his pilot license from a Japanese flight school.
this is an under rated comment
The whole chase felt very Brosnan but it just fits so good here, idk what it is exactly, but it's so well done.
Smashing, James Old Boy. Absolutely smashing!!!
This scene is amazing! The music is so loud it even mutes the sound of the exploding cars.
Credit where credit is due... this soundtrack is brilliant
As a pilot having reviewed the ADS-B data …
Bond flew the approach correctly.
Nice!!
Damn, all these 007 scenes clips made me wanna watch the movie again
The music wasn't good in spectre but this scene is great even without a good score
I didn't mind it.
The score does the 50% In a film, this scene and also the car chase in Rome is very boring cause of the soundtrack. Think about the music of goldeneye, a view to a kill, die another day, casino royale, so exciting music that makes the scene very adrenaline.
@Beep Bop I don't know ... Also Morricone did that but the final product was different 😆
John Barry made the best music
I love the score for Skyfall and Spectre
What's going on with the sound in this scene? Sound effects appear to sound either muted, weak or completely missing. Things crashing barely makes a sound.
probably done to avoid copyright claim.

pretty sure it's belstaff
Now I know why 1917 won Best VFX and Sound Mixing at the Oscars 👍
What an incredibly durable aircraft. Most aircraft have the fuel tanks in the wings...
The Islander's fuel tanks are mounted in the wings. But they're right behind the engines so explains why the plane didn't go boom
Personally I think it's fine if the action gets a bit over the top or doesn't make too much sense on closer inspection. The only purpose of scene like this in the plot is "Bond saves Swann". How he does it is completely secondary, and they could've made it any way they wanted. So why not do something bonkers, unusual, that hasn't been done before, and that is cool as hell?
As a James Bond i can say : it was all real
Looking at this on a 27" monitor in a bit of disbelief. Especially since I saw it previously in theater - and it was 100% convincing back then.
inmagine being in a plane, being faster and more mobile than the cars, and then trying to turn the plane into a car.
simply genious
BORN FOR BOND 007. No one beat this bond.
Where was the airport in relation to the clinic? How far away was it? How did he know that it was Madeline in the car once he caught up to them?
I enjoyed Spectre, one of about 3 people on the face of the planet who did, but like Skyfall, there were too many holes in the plot for me.
I don't know why every one hate this movie, I found it pretty good
@Michael keaton You keep falling down since your Batman days, huh?
Random Trivia: The license plate of the Defender at 2:00 is a mixture of Tyrol (IL- Innsbruck Land) and the State of Vienna (Crest with the white cross on red shield) so it doesent exist.

0:48 I just love how he goes Full Pikachu Face when all the Tourists come on board.
I have traveled in an "Islander" twice. Very sturdy aircraft.
I love these amazing scenes in the Austrian Alps.
All in all, this was still probably not the worst first date Madeleine’s been on.

The pistol bullet holes in the plane at the start are the size of cereal bowls, its double barrelled, not a pirate cannon

From a 20mm hispano maybe, sure
Hopefully the new director Cary brings the series back on track 🙌
How much different it could have been if Danny Boyle had remained. I fear the current director is just doing what Broccoli and Craig want.
@@DerekDobbie57 After reading about the production, there's a big chance your correct in that matter.

How was the sound quality?
Yes, constipation can be very exciting!

spectre really loves range rovers!
No goosebums. This scene is looking old fashioned.
in the cinema this part was soooo crazy, like, bond chase in a plane instead of a car, it really becomes thrlling and exciting
As a Ryanair pilot I can safely say: this is normal
I just realised, this scene kinda reverse roger moor’s lotus chase in the spy who loved me, with bond been in the aircraft this time. Might just be a coincidence
Deadly, Mr Bond!
That beginning was a nice nodd to The Spy Who Loved Me.
You arent officially James Bond until youve done a snow action scene, every actor's done it except the first (even Lazenby)
Except the first…so Sean Connery isn’t officially a Bond? Yeah okay 😂
@@lukeowen1818 Thats not really the logic I was intending but if youre gona be a smart arse no he isnt very much like the book bond, arguably Dalton is more like Bond that Connery ever was. Bond was humourless for a start. It was Connery's idea to put jokes in.

Honestly I get how people say this movie was a letdown but I like it as a guilty pleasure, it's cliche but reminds me of old Bond movies in a good way.

IMO, Mr. Hinx and his double-barrel 1911 were the best parts of SPECTRE.
Except that it is a novelty gun that no professional would have as EDC.
@@TacShooter I don't disagree on that point but, like Scaramanga's golden gun, the style points in a Bond film win out.
Was Roger Moore in this one because it looks like his type of movie
The problem I have with modern Bond movies is that they have all the over the top action scenes, but they try to be serious about it. In the older ones, they knew they were being silly in some of the scenes, and let it show too. Somehow, this becomes more of a parody of what Bond used to be. It saddens me, but I suppose that's how it's supposed to be.
That is why I liked Pierce Brosnan. He had the right balance. Daniel Craig and Timothy Dalton were too serious when they said one-liners. Roger Moore was far too silly.
That’s why Casino Royals was the best one. Not too over the top,
It would have been so easy to escape Bond: Just stop the car. Bond would have kept flying ...
So true lol

Did the sound designer not show up for work that day?
I liked Q in this scene, he is a proper spy, he might be a tech guy, but you can see here he is trained and not just to work in a lab, or behind a desk, he can work in the field just so long as he has had his morning cup of earl grey.
Hinx ( Dave Bautista) uses a Arsenal Firearms 2011 Dueller Prismatic chambered in .45 acp. There is no way in hell a .45 acp is making holes this large @0:18
In GTA, once the plane touches anything it explodes.
So in this movie James Bond is a super spy by virtue of being an incredibly lucky idiot?
What's your masterplan, James?
Oh I was going to destroy a plane, pray that it doesn't burst into a raging fireball, turn it into an unsteerable sled, and hope that the bad guys are stupid enough to get directly in my path. Fool proof.
😂😂
“Super spy by virtue of being an incredibly lucky idiot” that’s just Ethan Hunt
Literally it’s a movie stop trying to ruin the fun even if it ain’t realistic it’s fun to see this happening
In a high-intense situation, Bautista can't decide whether he wants to wear his hat or not.
takes it off before shooting from the window then puts it back on. Nothing unexpected.
@@zdenek3010 Notice the words "high-intense." I'm not sure he would have time to think about taking it off, never mind putting it back on.

Doesn't the Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander keep its fuel in the wings?
Well planned Mr Bond ! :)
When selecting an aircraft for a pursuit mission,on what planet did they come up with the Britten Norman Islander?,
Is it just the law or something that James Bond films completely jump the shark when the actor is nearing the end of their tenure? Casino Royale wouldn't have been caught dead tryna' pull this shit.
It's the byproduct (bylaw?) of upping the ante; what then happens is that, because each direct entry has to be "bigger", the accidental result is often for the productions to become risible.
I've often thought that there was a long sequence of releases where Bond Pre-Title Sequences were obsessively trying to overcome the opening for GoldenEye (and failing each time).
Casino Royale smartly toned things way down, and has a title sequence that can stand with GoldenEye's.
Yet Skyfall very much feels like a return to the OTT need to overcome that GoldenEye PTS that the Brosnan Era suffered from.
I suppose the best thing that can be said for Spectre as a whole is that it, at least, didn't reach the awful levels of something like Die Another Day.
On the other hand, the film is arguably at its worst with things that it seems to take seriously (the Grand Spectre Conspiracy, neatly tying all the Craig villains together).
Somehow Spectre seems more threadbare and ridiculous in this version than it did in the Connery films. And all while trying to craft some grand narrative justification/conspiracy.
Go figure.
And just as GoldenEye has touched the modern Bond so deeply, I think that this mindset "bigger is better" mentality truly started with GoldFinger. Both are incredibly strong Bond entries, but the need to one-up (and simultaneously follow the model of) GF -- for many years -- became a bit of a disease for the franchise.
Hopefully a reset will create an entry closer to that of Casino Royale.
I think that it's time to bring back more of the Bourne Mentality.
This is the moment where I checked out of this movie. This the moment I realized Bond might just be a villain.
Even though I'm NOT a pilot, I can 'plane-ly' see how dangerous this is! :)

It's great to see Stuber finally got his eyesight back! Lol!
Even this chase is so dull. The score, the cut, the acting... unbelievably flat
Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann :
French actor Lea Seydoux - who we first sat up and took notice of in Cannes winner Blue is The Warmest Color - plays the gutsy and spunky Madeleine Swann. A psychiatrist, she's Bond's ally in many a tricky situation and sometimes, even manages to steal his thunder. Swann doesn't need Bond," Seydoux has been quoted as saying.
