- James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) in his Aston Martin Vanquish duels with Zao (Rick Yune) in the Jaguar XKR on the frozen lake in DIE ANOTHER DAY. Yune said, “You have these two powerful machines that are built for battle, but they’re facing off against each other as if in a ballet, dancing on ice.” Directed by Lee Tamahori with Halle Berry as Giacinta 'Jinx' Johnson, as seen in this scene.

Ah this was the bond film I grew up with.
People may dislike it, but it will always have a special place in my heart.
My favourite movie especially the opening scene.
I am totally agree with you !!! I still love this movie !!! It has all the elements of a true great James Bond movie !!! 😀😍😎
Same here
I grew up with this movie too. One of the first ones I saw and I also played the bond games with brosnan as the lead. So there's just something loveable about these crazy action unrealistic action scenes
The first film I can remember coming out in the cinema.
Always will have a soft spot for this chase scene: If memory serves, this is the only time Bond and the Villain were on equal footing, both driving gadget laden cars.
I remember seeing a part of this movie when I was very young. It was my first Bond film lol
I always wondered why it took until Die Another Day for the bad guys to also have a gadget laden vehicle.
How bout Spectre
@@creativeguy1martinez693 007 옥토퍼시
Something like that, yes.
Probably the only sequence in the movie where the over-the-top tech and gadgets didn't feel so excessive. I especially like how Bond used the ejector seat to unflip the Vanquish.
Yeah Brosnan's Bond always managed to use gadgets not quite the way they were intended to. Which was clever as it meant the Q pay-offs aren't predictable.
@@Trazynn .

WTF? RWD car on wet icy sloping roads? Yeah right!
Hovercrafts? Fencing scene? What gadgets?
...Bond had an invisible car, and Zao had a convertible with a bad CGI gatling cannon that happened to have thermal imaging.
The bit where he activates the traction spikes only makes you realise it would have been impossible to drive on that surface all that time without them.
Well snow is like driving on sand the ice itself is hard but this was done practically for the most part
Pirelli
*Pushes Bond nerd glasses up nose* They tried to use spikes for filming but they were actually too grippy on the ice, they scaled them down to metal studs on the tyres iirc
It's 2020 and I still wouldn't mind driving either one of these cars.
Definitely the Vanquish for me, although the gearbox is utter dog shite 😅
@@lewiskemp9732 I would drive the 2008 (?) Aston Martin DBS someday
@@hunterxsimple3821 If you’re talking about one of the 2 cars in the video, it’s certainly not 2008. This movie was released in ‘02.
@@PatBat3man yeah I know, I just wanted to tell that I'd like to drive that car
@@lewiskemp9732 I think Aston Martin actually did a thing, where they replaced the transmission with a manual one for a hefty price...
As a kid, I was obsessed with this scene
I loved this car chase scene a lot as a child. As an adult, I find the car chase to be quite funny. Each car's gadgets and weaponry is unnecessarily high-tech, both being used to battle with each other without being excessive but yet is so absurd.
May not be a great movie ... But this is a truly great action sequence!
Yea!
Gotta love when an Aston beats up a Jag.. unless its it's a 220, then leave her alone :) cheers.
whattya mean? this was probably the best of the Brosnan Bond films
and he's like the 2nd best Bond
What does idiots know, only playing cards
Where eagles dare
To me, this is the best Bond car chase. Everything from the action to the music to the fact both characters get a sleek gadget-laiden car.
I remember this part! It is superbly cool to see the invisible effect on the car, back then.
This movie reeks of early 2000s aesthetic
Those fake ice props are so cheesy!
The point of stating an early 2000s movie has early 2000s aesthetic is?
@@mortyp473 It's brutally 2000s, like an 80s movie with neon colors, synths, big hair and giant shoulderpads
Funny that
Early 2000s movies were the best tho
After watching the Boring SPECTRE Rome car chase, watching this was actually a relief
That was the worst chase in franchise history. Terrible pacing.
@@jeffcharlton9660 What about the moon buggy chase from Diamonds are Forever? That one wasn't much better.
@@tylerriggs7989 That one was incredible and very funny and back in those days the movie watchers didn't need such fast pacing.
Ughh. That was a car SLOG lol. This one was ridiculous...but FUN
That wasn’t even a chase, it just looked like a car ad.
that invisible ashton martin is still one of my favorites from the bond movies
I can’t imagine what it took to create that ice building and scenes inside with all actually seeming realistic 👏🏻🎥👏🏻
Let me help your imagination; they build it with ice. Fried, not stirred.
I honestly can't stop laughing. Its just the insane weapons each car has. My sides already hurt from seeing the gatling gun, I love it
I remember seeing this in the theater when I was in high school. It was enjoyable and it showed a side of Bond you didn't see often. Would've been nice if the clip wasn't cut short.
I absolutely love the Vanquish!
Brosnan too..thats why he took one himself!
Better than the DB5 and BMW vehicles?
Another spectacular car chase on bond's movies and excellent driving skills. 007 forever!
Of all the car chases in the 007 franchise, this one is absolutely thrilling
Okay, I give Die Another Day this, its got some brilliant action
And over the top.
@@rogerkincaid931 yeah it is, personally, it can be quite a fun watch
@@sonnykingcomposer ✋ High Five
@@sonnykingcomposer This one and the esgrima duel.
In the age of Fast and Furious movies that we currently live in, this movie is more believable. Lol
The sound of those engines 🔥
This movie established the principle that Jaguars are the preferred car of Bond villians.
Becuz Porsches and Mercedes are hard to destroy
@@hybridShinx *oef
Jaw's was in a Ford Cortina!
See tommorow never dies, mercedes have been destroyed by bond car, BMW.
@@VaiSakH112 wait its out?
I really don't understand the hate for this film!!
Neither do I! So what if it is over the top that doesn't remove the fact that the action is fun asf to watch!
1:37 Halle Berry's terrible eye-acting gave me a laugh.
Never noticed that before haha that was horrendous, and to believe she won an Oscar the year before
Oscar worthy acting effort is generally not required in a Bond film
@Meta Man my bad. Monsters Ball was made 2001, forgetting that its the following year Oscars are announced. ... Having said that, that's even worse lol
i dont see anything wrong?
At least Jinx made every effort to escape on her own instead of just waiting to drown.
This movie got/gets way too much hate. Yes it's over the top A LOT and feels more like a Roger Moore film, but it has some great moments like this.
Moore had some great Bond films, Live and let die, For your eyes only, The spy who loved me, The man with the golden gun and I also liked Octopussy.
@@seanstoutgamer Didn't insinuate Roger Moore's films were bad, just Die Another Day had a more camp tone similar to his films.
Still better, more watchable and more enjoyable than Quantum of solace and Spectre
Probably the best description of the movie. Definitely has some Roger Moore vibes, but I also like the seriousness of Bond being locked away and tortured for years, getting out and seeking who is responsible.
@@thea-holegamerandfriends6754 The beginning of this movie was excellent. Once the movie gets into it though it gets too ridiculous for me. I prefer Moore's films even if they are very campy in nature (View to Kill was towards the bottom with this one though).
As a PlayStation 2 player, This entire scene definitely reminds me of 007 Nightfire yo.
Die Another Day was not the perfect Bond movie (far from it)
But this is among the best car chases in the franchise!
@Phobos yesss!! And that voice box was hilarious too
I have watched all Bond films l liked watching them specially the action part👍
I was seven years old when this bond film came out.
Although the film itself wasn’t that great this was a brilliant car chase.
Notice how Bond deactivates the traction spikes, and the car stays on the wall until he accelerates 😂😂
I'm surprised he didn't keep the traction spikes enabled since he's mostly driving on ice.
Well the car was going down anyway
@@gregorymoore2877 Yes :D same thing with the chase on the living daylights. These cars wouldn't be drivable at all without spikes on ice.
5:11 Technically, this use of cloaking technology violates the treaty of Algeron.
Only if the Romulans find out 😉
This is way way way before any treaty was signed lol
Zao was the best thing about this film. Underrated henchmen
Still the favourite Bond chase sequence
What a film 👍🏻
I heard a rumor from someone that was on set. He set the stunt driver was having a very hard time to lose control of the car on the ice. He said the Aston’s handling was too good
I love the way that the Aston Martin was in camouflage
The opening hover craft scene, fencing fight scene and ice palace car chase scene are so well choreographed crazy and lot of fun and also the adrenaline rush with fast paced music. Very enjoyable. Dad is not worst bond movie it is flawed with some shoddy cgi but has high re watch value something which is lacking in modern movies
The last bond movie over the top action over the top villians gadgets cars girls traditional bond movie pure fantasy!!!!!!! Just great
I agree. The Daniel Craig films feel more like Jason Bourne than the James Bond we know and love
Старые добрые времена! 💯💥❤️
Before Fast and Furious did it, Bond did it ;)
One of my favourite bond car chases
4:12 Is that a mouse running before the car?
Amazing car Chase. Like Aston Martin Vanquish
I love the sound of that Aston Martin
This scene was dope
My favourite movie
just love the signature score right from the beginning and all the tech gadgets...as for' Bund' that keeps changing:)
The whole scene - absolutely ridiculous! 😂
This was the last good Bond movie
the fuckin aesthetics of this movie are so fy. like people hate on it, but this sis the coolest bond film. it throws away everything else and focuses purely on the swag.
like an aston martin in the fucking ice castle? you will never see that again. damn dude
Loved the green Jag
Surely I'm not the only one who likes the early 2000's aesthetics of editing and action music. As much as the fast to slow motion edits have aged badly, it can work at times if done right, this isn't one of those instances where it was done correctly. The DnB music is definitely something I miss where the added drum loops would add a sense of adrenaline and excitement to the action, it's kinda better than the staccato strings that most of the modern action films are plagued with in my opinion.
0:28 Good god, Bond's car must be surrounded by flesh and blood!
Would have made more sense for the car to be slightly warmer than the surroundings and have the thermal heat coming from the tailpipes
Best car chase in 007 movie
Very excellent performance and also fantastic movie
The scene that made me fall in love with Astons
2:19 I still laugh at how the rocket sounds like a Formula 1 V10, complete with a gear change lol
SO UNDER RATED AS BOND!!! HAS THE BOND SWAGGER That Sean Connery had and Daniel Craig today
my favorite James Bond' movie.....great!
People can hate on this movie, but Brosnan’s performance was incredible
The epitome of deliciously fun, early 2000s cheese.
I love this movie!!!
Some may not know this but at 5:40 Zao's death is similar to how Trevelyan dies in Goldeneye...a COOL homage imo
Thats because this movie was coming up on an anniversary of Bond. So there's an easter egg from each bond film in this movie.
This is an extremely high budget car commercial.
1:28 Bond has a fucking OOF button in his car.
There's only one bond james bond 007 pierce brosnan,legendary, immortal&irreplaceable literally💯

Great.....😊🍔🍰👌🍿🥯🥣👍💙🥧🍮🍖🥪
Why do people hate this . It's one of the best bond movie though
Ahhhh yes. The cars that never take any damage.
I didn't know I was watchin' a Batman movie or a Bond movie with this.
I don't care what others say but I liked this movie
I love those cars.
Ultimate movie. Bond is bond
Jaguar motors : how many rocket you need in car
Director : yess
Yeah, but who wouldn’t do the exact same thing for Miss Hally?
4:58 look he’s getting all wet in that car and even his car is gonna be soggy he should’ve put up his sunroof and stop water from going inside
Yes, it’s daft - but for reasons I can’t explain; I still enjoyed it.

One of the top Bond, Pierce Brosnan
The bond and the furious
What an epic a mesmerizing scene.
5:41
Now that’s a painful way to die.
He could have shot bond but he did it the extra way and said lemme pop this cord and drop some shit on him
It's not the first time he hurts him with diamonds on his face. 😁
Off course this had to be done for symbolism.
This HARD
Quel décor magnifique et quel dommage d'y tourner un film si le décor est réel!😣😣
As an owner of the Jaguar XKR, I’m rooting for the car to make it out alive too!!
Wow wow wonderful
People use to bash this film all over, but I'd rather sit and enjoy 1000 exhibitions of DAD instead of ever watching NTTD once again.
Because in DAD at least, Bond stays alive in the ending...
What a great save
when Q introduce this aston martin to Bond, it look so cool have weapon, after Zao car appear, Bond car totally is just kid car, cos Zao car weapon more than Bond car, Bond car only the invisible function is the best.
I wish I had this aston Martin car
Melhor filme de todos os tempos 007
Have to admit, it's a Bond action car chase with gadgets galour guilty pleasure .... whereas
Quantum of Solace's car chase is more of gritty realism. Bar none.
Wouldn't activating the tyre spikes before he moves up cause him to become stuck?
Very nice !!!
Massively over the top ,put a smile on your face bond film ,and not a Daniel hand me the Prozac Craig , James I'm a failure bond 🤣🤣🤣🤣
My childhood in one scene
Lol ,the invisible mode in car . And the car chase , breaking the thick ice walls .. Is that a Car or an army tanker .
When i stop interacting with someone, to me that person has died.
When only Bosch wipers will do!
