WHAT is Happening?!? Hanover, PA eagles nest April 5, 2018

- This nest has surely had some "interesting" happenings in the past few weeks...but don't this beat all! This a.m. an unknown adult bald eagle flew in and began making itself right at home. But then a juvenile eagle decided he/she would check things out as well! At first the adult wasn't happy having company, but then decides the juvenile didn't pose much of a threat and tolerated the juvie's presence. There's never a dull moment in Hanover this season, that's for sure!
ADDENDUM: The adult eagle in this video has been determined to be the MIA "Liberty"/juvie is likely to be one of her and Freedom's babies.

I have to wonder if the juvie was an offspring of the adult. The adult was only minimally aggressive and seemed tolerant at times, and the juvie seemed to come up to her like he was recognizing her and wanting to be fed. These two eagles seemed familiar with each other.
This is just what I needed to see after being away from the nest for 6 days!! Love it!
Thank you Lauri!
Over at the Big Bear Eagle nest, when the guy/official climbed up there to remove the dead eaglet, he put a band on the other live eaglet.. Which was a good thing to do..
My mom when I turned 18.....lol. "Go find your own!"
Too funny!!!
Nice beat bird bro!
Yeah you know I was also thinking, another good argument for PA game commission to band the Eagles 🦅 is find out from what territory these new birds left and why. The whole time I have been watching only intruders were squirrels, mice, raccoons and owls!
I like to know how the Game Dept. knew there was intruders. i never saw anything on the cams.
I'd love to see what happens when mom comes home.
Could the Juvie be from that nest and maybe think that was his dad?????😮
I know! I am so confused! This nest has been the biggest “Soap Opera”! I wish they would have put bands on Liberty and Freedom, or actually all of them to keep track of who is who and where they are and where they went! I wish the Game Commission would put out a statement to help us get some understanding as to what is going on. Most of all the question everyone is getting yelled at about, is Liberty dead or alive?
🤣 I know!! It's pure insanity out there! And I agree 110% with you Paula!
Speaking of soap operas...somebody dubbed it "The Young and the Nestless". So appropriate! 🤣
Oh wow I didn’t see that! Yes that is a fitting name for this Soap Opera! 😝I am so thankful you didn’t yell at me for my comment! I have been afraid to say anything but it’s been bottled up in me and I let it out! Liberty seems to be a “Taboo” subject. My heart just wants to know if she is alive, or dead so I can deal with it. My heart sinks when a new bird shows up and they are, “ is that “Liberty”? I can’t help it, I have watched her for many many years!
I will NEVER yell at you for a comment Paula. I too have to just get away from the chatter and others' "opinions" - we are all just observers. Thanks for commenting. ❤️
Thank you hon, I sure appreciate you saying that. I have subscribe to you.
I thought the adult eagle was Freedom or maybe Liberty? And that the eaglet was one of their babies from a year or two that came back to the nest it knows..
The Large Adult Female turned out to be a floater that came to the nest one night March 25, 2018, and attacked Liberty on eggs. We called her Lucy, after the Peanuts Gang Comics, Lucy van Pelt has a bad attitude. Bossy. One can just barly see one egg she had kicked to the rails and stayed there until next season. the egg is lodged in the rails by the tree limb on the right.
Is she the same eagle who ate the unviable egg? It's really so sad what has happened this year at the Hanover nest. The winter storms didn't help. They have had better years.
No this is not the same eagle. I, too, am sad about what has occurred. We get so attached to these sweet creatures, don't we?
Could it be one of his earlier eaglets?
It very well could be.
I was thinking the same thing since they sort of had a certain level of comfort around each other ☺️❤️💯‼️
So is the adult a boy or girl?
I believe only DNA testing could tell us that Dianne.
they said its a male
juvie's mom
Looks like juvie hope that's mom, but The eagle or mom not receptive
This parent is saying, “you need to get out and go to work!”
it should be easy to try and learn from these videos that we need to be mindful we aren't the only one s counting on this planet to be here tomorrow the same as it was today
Karen has seen an adult and juvie hanging out around the woodlot. This looks to be them. This is why the youngster was so comfortable around the adult and was still wanting to be where it was. Both were intruders while Karen saw Freedom and Lucy off nest near the dam.
Thank you shine - that is my understanding as well.
Karen rocks at all things Hanover eagle!👍
This poor baby was hungry and she was so possessive of nest and food. Who is this female??
Your guess is as good as mine.
redtajisun no bhai bhai
l wish was put a sign on the eaglets to know when they was babies
Or if they were banded or tagged in some manner, as you say murat. Too bad Pennsylvania Game Commission does not do that. Would make it so much easier.
Banksy Girl so should do someting like banding for know when they back in nest to wisit in future
The golden eagle looks scared
The baby is hungry
Maybe this eagle is the juries mom? Who knows? Anything is possible , I guess.
Could be Grandma...it's pretty much anyone's guess.
I agree Grandma.....that adult was a female and that juvenile could've been hers from a prior year. She didn't seem too annoyed by its presence but wasn't abut to share....lol
What happened to the babies lol
What babies?
Thats justic & Liberty nest where the babies located.
So many nests...so little time. 😅 Thanks Serena!
