A very touching scene, I watched this video several times ... Dad seemed to feel that these were his last minutes with his family😢 He will remain in our memory as an example of the most devoted parent🦅💗💗💗🦅🙏
Who would have thought today would be the last time we see dad. Such precious moments here. It saddens me a great deal. I have read how Eagles will try and hide themselves when injured to prevent from being prey but he hasn't been seen for over 2 weeks now and now God has sent mom an angel. This new UME has been proving himself to her that he can protect her and her eaglets and be a father to them. How sweet is that??? She was seen yesterday perching on a branch next to him so things are looking good!!
Ana Justice i know the way they care for each other and their babys is truly amazing they show more compassion then a human and thats really sad but its true 😯
These Greatest Eagle Parents Ever have certainly had their challenges this year! As usual, they are rising to the task, caring for their brood with great dedication. I kinda liked as soon as Mom rises, 29 has to immediately start bonking 30! Hopefully, they will keep their record clean and fledge all three hatchlings, as they have always done in the past. Best. Eagle. Parents. Ever.
I know. Even the Fire Department Rescue was out looking for him. They estimate he was 21 years old, at least; very old for a wild eagle. He certainly did his part to preserve his species: 31 hatches/fledges (we hope) with this mate, and unknown chicks raised with his first mate. He was gorgeous!
Revisiting on the anniversary of Dad's disappearance. Some don't want to accept that he has died. I am certain that, if he COULD have come back to his family, he WOULD have. What made this nest SO special was that EVERY ONE of the chicks survived to fledge. Now, Mom begins again with a young mate who shares many of Dad's qualities. He's GORGEOUS, loves incubating chicks, and is a great provider.
I've been wondering if they would work together to keep them warm, because they are getting so big that mom can't cover them all. Warms my heart to see them work together to shelter them! Thanks for confirming this!
I wonder if they have experienced this before. It's common in March when they are laying on the eggs. We are breaking records for cold and snow in my area but thankfully we are done with snow. Probably breaking records there also but this is absolutely ridiculous.
I think it is or close to it. I believe he disappeared Thurs. the 19th? Not long after the storm was over. I'm so, so sad. Hoping for the best for him but also for mom and the kids. Maybe the UME will be like M15 in SWFL, who hung around after Ozzie was injured (and died 6 mos. later after battling M15) and ended up as Harriet's new, fantastic mate and father to some awesome eaglets.
The three eaglets were fed this evening, and they are fine - on the N2B nest. The Decorah North Nest eggs are still covered and have been throughout the storm; they should be fine, since Mr. and Mrs. North keep them around 99 to 100 degrees. We are hoping for the best.
one of the last vids of Dad...I cried...he was a great Dad! Fly high Dad!

So loved Dad.

Wow!, what an extraordinary video!!
The cold weather seems to keep the kids from fighting too much as they need each other to stay warm.
Thanks so much! Got the screen shot of the 'heart'. Take Care - JennaR

I hope that everything will be ok with the 3 babies.

This is in the U.S., in northeast Iowa.
bold statement
Its his last best job before he died
We have no idea what happened to him, or if he died, but it's the last video I captured of him before he disappeared.
Esselamü, aleymüm mubteşem bir anne muhteşem bir baba.Esselamü,aleyküm.
Hate to say it...but I don't think Mom really trusted Dad and I don't blame her. He left them exposed and she covered them up immediately!
