One reason he wouldn't know Rebecca isbecause the year that they got famous he was away in Atlanta. Two they both live in completely different parts of the city even if they're both street kids they still live in different parts of the city. Yeah they both live in Watson but it's about the same distance away as Jackie's house and you don't meet him until the beginning of the game.(granted David lives in arroyo but still)
You gotta remember though he was already close to death when fighting smasher, V’s nervous system and brain was pretty much already Johnny at that point. He wasn’t injured physically but he was being destroyed by the chip.
Just imagine this kind of technology in future gaming industry. No more pre-recorded voice acting that stays the same for every player. We can just directly type or talk to the character and AI will generate real time responses based on their set characteristic and use AI generated voice to speak out the response, the dialog is unique for everyone. Sad that animation and acting during dialog still can't be generated in real time, but just the convo is a big step up for gaming in my opinion.
I love the mods that make the smasher fight good, makes you feel like two borgs are going toe to toe, rn im in my first complete playthrough, im basically going 80% borg, and my smasher fight is going to be amazing.

If you think about it, Corpo V is EXACTLY what David Martinez would have become if his mom hadn't died and he'd graduated from his Arasaka School. Sooner or later Jenkins would have noticed David's raw talent(and Cyberware tolerance) and taken him on as a protege, just like he did for V. With proper training, time, and discipline David probably would have been even better than V.

You were canonical V I was but I got a glitch that made my character invincible so I became biblically accurate V with all the hardware
