I love David, but let's be real...V is a damn solo and is stronger than David's whole crew combined...especially being a Netrunner too. He/she accomplishes way more impressive feats like beating Adam Smasher alone, fighting whole gangs alone (defeating leaders like Royce, Sasquatch, Tyger bosses), taking down 17 cyberpsychos ALONE, capable of breaking into Mikoshi ALONE, going beyond the blackwall and surviving, winning all the street fights in the city, being able to chrome literally anything and not go crazy, and most importantly being able to come back to life with the relic chip. (Examples include the headshot from Dexter and Placide flatlining V remotely only for Johnny to rez V).

Like it’s really difficult to imagine a bad ending for V. Where as David was destined for a bad ending.

@@BigLDmy guy 2.1 buffed him significantly. He has a sandy now, moves just as fast as you with one when he activates it, forces netrunners to do physical damage or else their cyberdeck gets deactivated, can't take damage while switching phases, gets up in your face more, and buffed damage and health. Try on very hard don't fear the reaper, he can one shot you on that, even if the fights easy, you can't afford to get hit anymore, and it takes a lot longer than before. If you really think it's too easy, fight him with the eonc mod enabled.
V is literally two NC legend's in one single body
David needed the Cyberskeleton to break into Arasaka, and even so, he was only able to hold off Adam Smasher for a short time before getting stomped. V just rolled up and flattened everyone in the building, INCLUDING Smasher.

Yeah. Like I think everyone kinda overlooks how David *NEEDED* that cyberskeleton just to deal with the militech attack squad out in the badlands, never mind fighting smasher. V steamrolls militech compounds then charged arasaka, potentially alone, and soloed smasher with possibly nothing more than kiroshi optics, a decent ballistic compressor, and a basic cyberdeck. If they chromed out more then it get even easier for them. But at minimum they only had those three things.

@@spaceman6_6 V is canonically like five years older than David, not twenty years older. This isn’t some “different worlds” comparison. David is 17 when the show starts, 18 by the time he storms the tower in the cyber skeleton. V is 23, that’s not enough of an age gap to matter in this context. Also, V is a streetkid, nomad, or former corpo. None of those backgrounds give him any kind of intrinsic edge over David.

Just one note. V is a Solo, not because V necessarily wants it, just because no one wants to cross V's way. If you speak with Rogue with no missions, and ask her for jobs, she'll say that when V tried teamwork, everyone died, including Saburo, but V survived, stole the Relic and escaped the one of the most powerful and dangerous company in the world, got a shot on head by Dex, survived and "Killed" him (Yeah, it was Takemura but no one knows it in Afterlife). Literally no one wants to mess with V, there are no gigs and jobs on V's level... V's case/story is hella similar to Morgan Blackhand's story on this aspect
also explains why every fixer in town is so inclined and friendly to V, especially compared to how we see fixers act in the show.
V is an absolute powerhouse, that will complete the job no matter what, and absolutely annihilate you if you dare try to fuck them over.
for me it's partially because V is dying, so they are essentially constantly in a milder version of this "panic mode" all humans go into in dangerous situations, your eye temporarily take everything in instead of filtering useless information, your body ignore it's own limits for the sake of survival (there have been cases of everyday people casually lifting a car while hurt to save someone, and not even flinch.)
even behaving in groups becomes easy, the twin towers evacuation ? wasn't some kind of chaotic mess, sure there were a few people who fell and stuff, but overall it was an extremely fast pace yet spontaneously organized evacuation.

That’s not what a solo means. David is a solo, so his Rebecca and Maine. Being a solo doesn’t mean working by yourself, they’re called that because they’re essentially one man armies. Solos are the combat specialists in Cyberpunk.

You don't need to setup an entire chain of command for them or have middlemen or stuff. You hand them over a job and they are expected to do it. Also they often do not align themselves to any gang or fixer thus called solo.
Does this mean they'll always work alone? obviously not but they are absolutely capable of it
Theoretically, depending on your playthrough, V could solo all of Arasaka tower including Adam Smasher, while having nothing more than a Kiroshi Eye cybernetic implant. And they’re doing this while nerfed by the relic lmao
That’s how I did it. I basically played Cyberpunk 2077 like Doom Eternal - hot swapping between shotgun, rifle, and pistol

There’s the good and bad because of the relic.
The good being he has access to “resurrecting” when Dex and Placide try to zero him. He also has knowledge and information from Johnny, even though we find out some of it is unreliable.
Bad being his sick, and the damn thing is killing them.

Interesting take on V's apparent immunity to Cyberpsychosis:
While it has been hinted that the Chip does do that, I remember reading the tweets of a Cyberpunk loremaster.
The guy explained that a person's resistance to Cyberpsychosis scales on their humanity. The higher the stat, the more resistant to going psycho. The guy theorized two things:
1. David has incredibly high Humanity, given how he was chromed out from Neck to Toe and before that, spammed the hell out of a military grade Sandy without the meds.
2. Despite allegedly using the chip as a Cyberpsycho insurance policy, V (in theory) had a higher humanity rating than David's. And he thought it to be miles higher, considering that not once through the game did V's psyche falter, and depending on the endings, he faced his death like brave man expecting the inevitable or feared for his life like any rational human being.
Think I read a theory similar to this. Mainly about the mental state of the mind. Some even said if David didn't get mind fked by JK's BD, he might have not gone over the edge.
As David went through more chrome, he also lost more of his humanity side. Only person that kept him grounded was really Lucy. She even managed to bring him back from Cyberpsychosis. She was his humanity.
V basically had Johnny to keep him from going over the edge. Plus also the relic helps in a sense. V kept his compassionate humanity even if he borges out.

@@jjlim3768 Plus V doesn't really "borg out" in the same way David did. V's body plan stays basically the same, he'd still recognise himself if he looked in the mirror (well, usually).
He always picks the option that matches his natural body, so he doesn't have the same dissociation risks David and Maine ran into.
The hallucinations Maine and David both had makes it clear that in their heads they still saw themselves as the scrawny kids they started out as, regardless of how they actually looked. V's mental model of themself looks like...well, how they look.
So just like how Cyberpsychosis is really a possible outcome of a bunch of factors coming together, V has a bunch of factors acting at once to stop him going over the edge:
* Restricting himself to implants his body can handle (represented by stat requirements) and don't significantly alter his appearance.
* Strong personal connections to keep him grounded.
* The chip and Johnny acting as a buffer and motivator to stay focused and clear-headed.
* Having already died once meaning he has no illusions about his own mortality or thinking he's special.
An interesting take is the player playing V is the cyberpsycho because the player can decide to run over a group of civilians in a mai mai car just to fight maxtac and get some exp. Or kill the dad in Regina's Dirty Biz gig just to laugh at the kid while he cries.

In my two playthroughs, Adam Smasher got utterly bullied twice.
One, him losing to a bald V wearing a yellow suit and red boots in just one punch, and
Two, him losing again to a half-naked V with just a vibrating sex toy. (BFC 9000)

As born in Glen he probably was working as an assistant, bring me that and that.
When he returned he hasn't got any implants (i'm not counting his deck), and looks how they work with Jackie was the same, simple deals where V getting smashed face, only first big deal it was Kompeki where they fucked up.
So as I said no real experience, only from getting a bullet in his head and storyline in 2-3 weeks he became a slain machine which is stupid as fuck.

@stayfro5ty214 It's explained in the game, during the mission where you talk to takemura in Tom's diner. Initially V talks to silverhand out loud but after Johnny points out that you don't need to, you just talk to him in your head.
V is essentially a God in Night City.
V can solo whole arasaka personel and chief security and dark legend of NC being Adam Smasher while being basically on his death bed, and he's also immune to cyberpsychosis most likely thanks to relic. There's really no competition

For real! Some people forget that V is essentially on the same level as Solos like Smasher and black hand. Except V doesn't have any top of the line corpo chrome upgrades like Smasher. The only corpo tech V has is the relic, and that's something they stole and wasn't even given to them.

V is the legend of nightcity, David is another gravestone in desert…
If you think about it, it almost seems like David uses a Kerenzikov, not a Sandevistan. He mostly uses it in short bursts, with little to no cooldown inbetween, which is way more similar to a late-game Kerenzikov (mine slows time by 99% for 5 seconds, with 3 seconds cooldown inbetween). That doesn't really change anything in the end, but it's interesting to me nevertheless. I guess you could however use it as a point for V, since they could counter Davids Sandevistan with a Kerenzikov, while using some other operating system to have the edge in slowed time, probably Berserk imo.
Except that kerenzikov slows down the user’s perspective, while Sandevistan makes the user extremely fast, just like David.
Yeah it's a cool theory. I feel as if David's military grade sandevistan is a hybrid between the 'Falcon' and the 'Warpdancer' as well as has some Kerenzikov similarities.
I think how the game potrays that 'relics' only allow you to talk to the 'dead'
the engram is a prototype version that stores someone's consciousness on a body.
So I think the anime does the same but with David's military sandevistan, so it's possibly some type of prototype that was deemed too dangerous after driving most people 'pyscho'. My theory atleast.

If you have any doubts about who is stronger, just remember V acted solo mostly after the heist and truth to be told the 'Don't Fear The Raeper' ending makes a lot more sense because practically, he has been going solo and why does he need to team up now?

Everyone keeps trying to say Adam Smasher was stronger in the anime but I think you're missing the actual point. Adam Smasher wasn't stronger, David was just that much weaker than him. He never stood a chance, Adam Smasher is the Cyberpunk endgame in both the game and ttrpg. V on the other hand, is just that much stronger than him. V has no issues at the end of Cyberpunk as assuming you didn't purposefully hold back, you stomp on him and it's not saying Adam Smasher was weaker, he wasn't. V was just that good.

Ok David is a kid and v is older and more experienced but still he was sick and dying because relic still managed to enter arasaka hq fuked everyone in that building and kill Adam Smasher and survive soul killer and went alone to old net came back .. David only could fight in last episode bcz he had arasaka mech tech and a team.. David didn't have experience relied to much on tech

V is what you make of them. They literally have the choice to become whatever they like. A netrunner, a Merc with a sandevistan or a berserk mod, or they could become a solo copy of David. The only thing we can't do like David is shove the projectile launcher inside our gorilla arm, but either way, if you actually play 2077 and go for the best ending you'd see V will always be better than David. V was killed, sure they had a relic bringing them back, but that relic was basically a reverse tumor, it treated V's conscience as the tumor trying to wipe them out. They had to put up with constant malfunctions, and if you choose to upgrade them to the fullest, V ends up going through major cyberware upgrades, as much as David did, without taking any meds to keep them sane. The creator explained the relic caused v to not go cyberpsycho since they shared a body with basically two brains. Johnny was there to take the load off, and if you saved V he still doesn't have the issue of cyberpsychosis. Not only that but V goes through the entire game, depending how you play being either stealthier, quicker, or stronger than David ever was. V becomes strong enough to take down Adam smasher, something David couldn't do with a cyber skeleton. Yes he was going cyberpsycho, but that doesn't change anything once you realize you could do a "minimal" cyberware run, only getting the upgrades needed at the start as V in order to play the game. V can go through the entire game just like that and still beat the undefeatable. It's just no matter how you look at it, v is always going to be one of the top legends of night city. V is the only one to get a drink at the afterlife while still alive, they are the only one to take down the monster that was smasher, and they were able to destroy Arasaka plans by letting the AI based off of Alt's construct get into Mikoshi and merge all the constructs they had into herself. Honestly with the speculation that David might be alive or as a construct could be plausible, but until we see more, we can't say for sure, and if it is him as a construct, that still means he is dead and now probably inside of Alt kinda like how V or Johnny end up depending on your end choice.
Imagine v as an old man sitting enjoying his legandary status retired and then boom whole ass Arasaka army tries to kill him the camera pans out and we see hundreds of dead agents and v in the middle grinning as a nuke is about to hit him and he opens his arms and accepts death
When you play the game on normal difficulty, that's how powerful V actually is.

Yeah, it’s because of Johnny’s engram that is/was uploaded to the matrix, so now V has almost an immunity to going cyberpsycho
On top of that engrams have an unlimited cyberware capacity without any of the other major side effects, due to it just being a copy of that person’s consciousness

David relied heavily on the sandy and was showing signs of psychosis even before getting the sandy (he watched XBD’s) David was never going to last long in Night City, V (though we haven’t seen any of her past and ofc this is all based on what path you choose) never showed signs of being a psycho, the only times you can get cyberpsychosis is when you go on a killing spree, which isn’t cannon and we know this is because V has a lot of dialogue where she is against needless killing, I remember during a mission when asked about killing no matter what option you pick she will always end up saying something along the lines of how killing is just a part of her life and she doesn’t feel any joy from it. (I refer to V as a female a lot because the creator of Cyberpunk 2077 said he and the crew don’t see V as anything more than a female so I like to take that as cannon)

David. make it a storyline like he became a borg after being shot through the eye by smasher, and is now tearing up pacifica. but you have to kill every other cyberpsycho first, and you get the call from Mr Hands that David is still alive. if you kill David you get his Sandy

It's like what Thane Krios said about Kai Lang after their first/last encounter in Mass Effect 3 "Well trained assassin, and he still couldn't finish off a dying man". Hell, we even run into cyberpsychos that use exo-skeletons (like what Brick uses if we fight him or help him when Militech attacks, if we tell him about the virus on the cred-chip Meredith put on it) and we still clap them psycho-cheeks. Hell, even when Placid tries to flatline us, we get back up, pissed as hell that he tried to zero us, and even scare the Voodoo Boyz who thought V was dead. It's like Punisher(2004 movie version) meets John Wick, we come back from the dead, and just a badass with guns and able to kill whoever gets in our way in a multitude of different ways.
David was a beast for sure, but V has one thing David lacks: Perk Points

Nice edit but I think you forgot that V can get the sandevistan as well but overall I think this pretty accurate and I’m confident that if V and David fought it would have been the same way David died in anime and V literally looking down at David just like how V looked down at Adam smasher and I find it funny that Adam smasher died the same way he killed David with smasher looking down at David then V looking down at smasher as he was killed
This and if you kit yourself out in the right way you can get a sandevistan with a cooldown of under 5 seconds
The sandevistan David has based on the anime, isn't in the game. David's sandevistan seems much more powerful than then 10% slow time for the Warp Dancer Sandevistan, you can see this on the final episode where David is so fast he's in 3 different places at once. However, just because David is faster doesn't mean he'd automatically win. Since V has a sandi too, he wouldn't 100% catch up but would still see him coming and just has to manuever, like Adam Smasher does etc.
Other characters without sandi's like Johnny would suffer greatly though.

I mean the Warp Dancer Sandevistan isn't the best one. There's the Militech Sandevistan that you can acquire as well, which slows time by 60% for 15 seconds.
@@zer0stars What’s the name for it? All I’ve seen for all sandevistan’s is 30% being the highest. Although I don’t think it matters much since no matter what sande V has, he’s not fast enough to be in 3 places at once.
