I take out Royce and Brick both every time. The reason is simple: A lot of gigs involve killing Maelstrom, it doesn’t make sense to be buddy-buddy with the leader of the gang if you’re killing his men left and right. Plus V doesn’t leave witnesses.
Idk why but that scene when V draws his weapon on Royce and Jackie does his thing it looks so badass. And then when you shoot him. I love this game so much😂

I had a similar mentality, but my conclusion was "we were discussing biz, and you drew a gun on ME?! Big mistake" and took them down. That is also very Night City, in my eyes.
Dude i cant believe how many options and consequences there are to this little throw away tutorial mission... Really enjoying this game so far (only just started it recently)
@jonathansutton1447 Sadly it's basically the only one with the most complexity as well. All other quests are basically a choice between "outcome" or "outcome but different way." It's part of the reason I like act 1 the most, because The Pickup has the greatest number of possible outcomes to actually be able to complete it.
I accidently did this on my first playthrough, I was relieved when I found out I hadn't completely ruined the Maelstrom storyline. I was sure I had screwed things up until I finally got around to meeting Patty.
There's a door while you're battling up with one of two members, either with militech or maelstorm, but i suggest try betray with militech, at least you meet with brick
I remember being able to side with them with led to merediths militech sqaud rolling in and me fighting to escape with the help of dum dum, it was pretty cool, i wish more missions had different outcomes like that
@@integralcialbay4633 When you look into Brick actually wasn't a bad gang leader, old school if anything with code or rules, But ROYCE, dude Royce deserves to go. Especially if you've heard the Dialogue for siding with them in the Beginning. I love Maelstrom mostly due to their characters designs and stuff, but all the culty-murder barbaric stuff is just not it. And because Royce was on that "I can do whatever I want to whoever" status, he got what was coming to him I believe in all my play throughs.
Lmao i didn't even know not killing everyone in Isis mission was an option lol, i killed everyone in the start in both of my playthroughs not knowing what that detonator does lol
If you detonate brick you’ll get 5000 eds from his bounty, as well as killing Royce in his boss fight in the garage, always make sure you shoot him after the fights over though, killing the two of them this way gives you 10000 eddies right at the start of the game
Lol I got Paranoid Patty to show up in my first play through. Long story short, after discovering what Malestroms deal was, it was open session on the whole gang. No survivors.
I just think it’s neat. Something about it catches me right. I mean the driving is janky for sure but there’s something about driving through it that just works.
Ngl, I did not think about it that much. I’m a run and gun typa guy, so I kinda just blast my way through every mission. I did not know that this was an alternate path
"Brick's got it, Brick's got it." Yeah, anyone who treats me like that needs to die. Besides, junkies snort junk, Maelstrom snorts chrome. Ain't no chooms of mine.
Mid way fighting my way out found the detonator and set it off not knowing what it was for. I heard the boom, shrugged assuming I set some trap off on the way out cleared out kept going never finding the cell. Whoops. 😂
I didn't even see brick...i just walked by, saw a random detonator, went "oh? what is this attached to?" clicked it, nothing seemed to happen, i went "huh" and then just wandered on...
After playing The Pickup in every possible way, I've decided that my favorite outcome is kill Royce, Dumdum and Brick, and then duke it out with Patricia and her pals at Totentanz. I've only manged to get the Doom-Doom pistol once [very tricky...Dumdum doesn't always drop it] and it comes too late in the game to be very useful. I could never figure out what that detonator was for in my early games...the action is too frantic to take a good look around and I don't think you can explore all of WholeFoods after wiping out all the Maelstrom goons.
If that's the rare one that's what I got on my first play through. I basically just handed the virus over and just didn't notice brick. I'd say it's not super hard to do honestly if you aren't paying attention.
I actually sided with both, Royce (by telling him about the virus on the shard), and Dum Dum (f king love that dude). When I got to the mission, had a chuckle at the conversations they were having and then left without leaving any bloodshed through the... unusual route
I have always saved Brick or Royce never killed both, the thought about what would happen if I did never occurred to me. On my next playthrou I will kill them all to se what happends
I had always heard about this outcome too, and the whole point of the save file you've been seeing me play through on streams was just to make this single short. Just got to it this morning, and yeah, definitely a huge change in tone from when I normally do this. Because I normally save Brick.
Ok, so I need a 3 hour breakdown of all the secret stuff cyberpunk has hidden. It's too damn good, there's too many things you can miss and it all creates a cohesive and engaging story no matter what kind of desicions you make along the way
No this is where Maelstrom ambushed me in the small room where Bes is tied and THEY had to fight for their lives. I walked into this room over leveled as fuck and did my best impression of a blender making a smoothie, and Maelstrom were the berries.
I just love how you get Royce to back down like a little dog just before you pull the trigger, the fact that he agrees to do business only after the guns up to his head just shows he's a coward who picks on those weaker than him that final "Bang" as you pull the trigger is just the sugar on top lol
I always save brick and never regret it especially when you meet up ith him later. The first time i thoght "hey i remember you, glad to see your still alive"
Didn’t realize my choices had impacts like this, I did the exact same thing not realizing what I set in motion. Loving this game so far, only started playing for the first time.
You can kill Royce and Dum Dum and save Brick and Patricia is still at the door. Bonus of saving Brick is that he is with Bes Isis and will let you walk from the club without a fight from his gang.
Well thanks for spoiling the Mission for me! I had just done all those things without paying attention! I'm excited to see what happens! Always fun when a spoiler reveals something to look forward to
Fun fact: the only combat frames we’ve faced of the vex are wyverns(outside of some bosses). The rest of what we’ve gon against are the construction workers. 😭😭🙏
I never kill any of them. Royce just needed someone to stand up to him, Dum Dum is a choom, and Brick was the guy you were supposed to deal with. I mean, I don't LIKE Maelstrom but I'm not going to gun them down at a deal. I'll do that in the streets like with every other gang.
In my first playthrough this is what happened because I found the detonator and blew him up without realizing it. I saved Brick every playthrough after it though
"everyone kills Royce" I'm going to use this video as an excuse to talk about my current run, because I'm actually doing a no kill and no takedown (Unless necessary) run. This means every mission is pure stealth, and I have to go around every enemy instead of just knocking everyone out and freely walking around. Interestingly, a lot of the Gun for Hire gigs become way more interesting when you have to smuggle a body out of a building without being seen, especially when that building is still full of all the enemies. There is a glitch where if someone begins to spot you while you carry a body, they will go on alert because, well, they saw a body. (I'm still on last gen, so idk if they fixed it.) But other than that, it's really fun to have to get around enemies both in and out of a mission, especially when carrying a body. I like to roleplay that my character prefers a peaceful, "No one even knows you were ever there" lifestyle.
I’m going to be absolutely honest, I did this quest today and didn’t even remember who brick was until I realized he was the optional objective in all foods that I had completely ignored as I was bolting out with Jackie
As I played this mission at the day the game came out at 2 in the morning and then at 5 went to work, I did all the things required to destroy them and had no idea I did it, nor remember it afterwards. 😂
I thought the all foods thing was something Johnny did when you gave him control I completely forgot about that, and needless to say when I walked into that back room shit did indeed hit the fan almost immediately
Step 1- give spiked chip. Step 2 - Royce’s head gets a little thinner after too much yapping. Step 3- FIND BRICK, get the detonator ,and have go boom collect reward.
Alternatively you can do what I did - rip the turret off the base at the entrance of this building and every dialogue script is skipped to complete mayhem 😂
Everytime I play, I always end up blowing a hole in Royce's head. I also tended to flip a coin with Brick. Always fun to see the reactions of the actions
In my first and only playthrough so far, I fanny’d about trying to find DumDum and Royce just died fighting the NCPD so when I said “don’t know what you’re talking about” I wasn’t lying.
I did this the first time around. On my last play through, which I carefully played out to closely mimic my head cannon, I befriended Royce and saved Brick. Still my preferred version of events.
My first play through, I accidentally threw a grenade as I entered the maelstrom hide out, so I've never talked to any of those guys, just killed them all, and got to see this my first playthrough
Hate to be that guy but there wouldn’t happen to be a shorter version that is just the tense beats is there? Also I love the backdrop for this! Is there anyway to get this as a wallpaper
My first play through I gave Royce the infected cred chip, killed dumdum, didn't even know brick or the detonator was there, and went and fought Royce in the mech and still got this outcome
I saved Brick so it was nice to get a warm welcome when I saw the Maelstrom crew again during that mission. My friend on the other hand.... Well.... He learned the hard way.
Had this happen in a playthrogh; fun fact - autosave happens after you enter the door to the backroom, LOL. I prefer letting Royce live - you can hear him talk about technomusic after

@cortsilver2564 that's pretty much exactly how I did it lol I don't remember anyone else other than Royce because of this lol. I tried to play a mostly moral yet no nonsense V.
I never even saw Brick, OR a detonator. So I guess he's still locked there to this day... Anyways... *procceeds to raid Arasaka Tower alone*
I literally just realised this. Did the mission and saw the achievement about saving brick and thought “who’s Brick?” Then carried
On with the mission.
I don’t think I even freed brick. I killed Royce, and that was it. But he showed up during this quest so… I guess he got out?
Speed runners: whos brick?
The pavement on the unpatched version 2 bump. Bricks😂😂
bruh i didnt even know either, i payed with militech card then killed a few people and just bolted out of there, so hes probably still locked up lmao
No lie it took three play throughs and a RUclips video for me to realize brick was even there
I didn't even know Brick was alive, I've missed too much in this game.
then play again with the great update :D
@@xBintuhol up,did he got revived by the devs? It was told that Royce have given a fine hole additionally to his head with some lead. Now he is apperently alive? Holy shit
@@attilakovacs5040you could always kill brick or save him. He's locked up in a room somewhere with a detonator strapped to him, if you free him he will say he owes you one, that's what I did on my first playthrough
That's the very first one I got, and most of the ones after. What can I say? being Maelstrom's designated grim reaper is fun!
'What the fuck you got against us man!? Jesus-fucking-christ, if you want me dead just give me some fucking Black Lace and I'll fuckin' OD for you okay? FUCK!"
Way I saw it on my first game, having a gun to your head is just Night City, cut a deal with Royce on the hacked chip, became buds with Dum Dum, shot up Militech, no regrets
All other quests are basically a choice between "outcome" or "outcome but different way."
It's part of the reason I like act 1 the most, because The Pickup has the greatest number of possible outcomes to actually be able to complete it.
I accidently did this on my first playthrough, I was relieved when I found out I hadn't completely ruined the Maelstrom storyline. I was sure I had screwed things up until I finally got around to meeting Patty.
I got this, but I still have no idea who Brick is or how I supposedly killed him, lmao
Same😅
I just left him in his cage.
I still got the same outcome
This is the only version of that mission I’ve ever had lol. It’s so hard not just wasting Maelstrom lol.
I didn't even know you could save brick I thought he was dead or at least that's how they made it sound
Fully savable, and he pays you back in this same mission if you do.
There's a door while you're battling up with one of two members, either with militech or maelstorm, but i suggest try betray with militech, at least you meet with brick
I remember being able to side with them with led to merediths militech sqaud rolling in and me fighting to escape with the help of dum dum, it was pretty cool, i wish more missions had different outcomes like that
Definitely fun for the Villainous Anti-Maelstrom Play throughs
Being Anti-Maelstrom is automatically heroic.
Mealstrom are Barely any Better than Scavs
I had no idea I killed them all off. Honestly the second Jackie started getting aggro I was like "Fuck it. You want a fight Jackie? Let's give em one"
Lmao i didn't even know not killing everyone in Isis mission was an option lol, i killed everyone in the start in both of my playthroughs not knowing what that detonator does lol
This game has much lack of explanation. Just found out I missed the Asian guy's iconic Satori katana pretty much at the start of the game.
@@spiegeltn Can be purchased from Herold Lowe at the EBM Petrochem Stadium if not looted from the above location.
@@Ghost-fc9hw I forgot about this comment. I saw a video on how to get back up and get it. I got it.
If you detonate brick you’ll get 5000 eds from his bounty, as well as killing Royce in his boss fight in the garage, always make sure you shoot him after the fights over though, killing the two of them this way gives you 10000 eddies right at the start of the game
But the bounties never workes lol
Lol I got Paranoid Patty to show up in my first play through. Long story short, after discovering what Malestroms deal was, it was open session on the whole gang. No survivors.
Yup. I walked through that door and did my best impersonation of a blender making a smoothie and Maelstrom were the berries.
I accidentally got this because I’m a complete fucking psychopath who hunts down my enemies like Yuji did to Mahito
I really appreciate that you don't show how it ends, thank you my friending
Past that door... It was hard.
Do tell….
what happens?
For them...
What is behind that door?
@@bio_josh non-player characters of sorts
"choosing certain things" is such a nice way to put it. Just fuckin killing everything in sight describes how it felt as well as what you do
I have regerts. NC took my Jackie from me, so I took everything from NC.
I didn’t even know brick was there I was so disoriented I just shot at people and ran out of there 😭
ahh man , i fckd up this mission from the beginning :0
With all fairness said, I had to make a new save just to record this short too.
this is exactly how my playthrough went, didn't know it was a particular thing
I have always saved Brick or Royce never killed both, the thought about what would happen if I did never occurred to me.
On my next playthrou I will kill them all to se what happends
I had always heard about this outcome too, and the whole point of the save file you've been seeing me play through on streams was just to make this single short. Just got to it this morning, and yeah, definitely a huge change in tone from when I normally do this.
Because I normally save Brick.
Ive got multiple 130 hour playthroughs on this game. Havent seen this one yet... But here i go with another 130 hours after watching this.
Ok, so I need a 3 hour breakdown of all the secret stuff cyberpunk has hidden. It's too damn good, there's too many things you can miss and it all creates a cohesive and engaging story no matter what kind of desicions you make along the way
I have a crush on Brick
Royce got caught lackin' lol
"Bang" every single time
Is this when the Maelstromers ambush you in that small room where Bes Isis is tied and you have to fight for your life?
No this is where Maelstrom ambushed me in the small room where Bes is tied and THEY had to fight for their lives. I walked into this room over leveled as fuck and did my best impression of a blender making a smoothie, and Maelstrom were the berries.
I didn’t know this outcome was uncommon enough to warrant a video. Got this without thinking about it lol
I just love how you get Royce to back down like a little dog just before you pull the trigger, the fact that he agrees to do business only after the guns up to his head just shows he's a coward who picks on those weaker than him that final "Bang" as you pull the trigger is just the sugar on top lol
i think I did this yesterday and I did everything I wasn't supposed to
I always save brick and never regret it especially when you meet up ith him later.
Dum Dum is my second best friend, I could never betray him.
I kinda like the Maelstrom psychos, but I'll remember to try this one out the next time. Thanks!
Will try this outcome for next phantom liberty replay!
Just got this on my last play through, love this game so much
My favorite interaction is when you draw on Royce and then pay him just to show you dont wanna blast your way out but also aint afraid to do so
As soon as the door in the backroom shut they tried to jump me lol, thank god for my sandy and quick response
Got this my last playthrough. Wasn't expecting it at all.
Well thanks for spoiling the Mission for me! I had just done all those things without paying attention! I'm excited to see what happens! Always fun when a spoiler reveals something to look forward to
The game came out years ago why don’t you go ahead and eat some sand? Might make your boo-boo feel better. 😊
Fun fact: the only combat frames we’ve faced of the vex are wyverns(outside of some bosses).
The rest of what we’ve gon against are the construction workers. 😭😭🙏
A crysis comment on my cyberpunk video? Lovin it
in my first playthrough i didn’t even know Brick was in there and figured she took after after you killed Royce
They need to make more missions like this, it was ridiculously well scripted and thought out 🔥
This mission had a few different things about it. Only recently found you can disable the infected credit Stroud gives you making you fight Militech
I accidentally did this the first time and didn’t know till rn
I have played the whole game through twoce and didnt know that i had been doing that really specific process and kept getting that specific side quest
In my first playthrough this is what happened because I found the detonator and blew him up without realizing it. I saved Brick every playthrough after it though
This happened to me in both my run throughs, had no idea there were other possibilities 😂
"everyone kills Royce"
I'm going to use this video as an excuse to talk about my current run, because I'm actually doing a no kill and no takedown (Unless necessary) run.
(I'm still on last gen, so idk if they fixed it.)
But other than that, it's really fun to have to get around enemies both in and out of a mission, especially when carrying a body. I like to roleplay that my character prefers a peaceful, "No one even knows you were ever there" lifestyle.
The all foods mission in one of the very few if not the only one with actual branching paths depending on how you handle things.
I’m going to be absolutely honest, I did this quest today and didn’t even remember who brick was until I realized he was the optional objective in all foods that I had completely ignored as I was bolting out with Jackie
Nothing, nothing will be as funny to me as just dropping grenades in there with the immunity perk. Thing of beauty...
As I played this mission at the day the game came out at 2 in the morning and then at 5 went to work, I did all the things required to destroy them and had no idea I did it, nor remember it afterwards. 😂
Royce deserves bullet every replaythrough time.
I thought the all foods thing was something Johnny did when you gave him control I completely forgot about that, and needless to say when I walked into that back room shit did indeed hit the fan almost immediately
Got this outcome on my first playthrough lol. I completely missed meeting Brick but the legendary quasar is worth it.
Step 1- give spiked chip. Step 2 - Royce’s head gets a little thinner after too much yapping. Step 3- FIND BRICK, get the detonator ,and have go boom collect reward.
This is what I got my first playthrough!
My first playthrough I did that. When they ambushed me in that room I pressed slow time and shot them all before they could draw their guns.
The moment Royce pulled that gun out, I knew peace was no longer an option and Im glad CDPR gave us that opportunity.
I actually unintentionally got this. Just blundered my way to it
Alternatively you can do what I did - rip the turret off the base at the entrance of this building and every dialogue script is skipped to complete mayhem 😂
I never knew what the detonator did, I just heard a boom and "hehe nice"
I did this the first time around. On my last play through, which I carefully played out to closely mimic my head cannon, I befriended Royce and saved Brick. Still my preferred version of events.
Now you gotta do a "how to completely set Maelstrom up for life in Cyberpunk 2077" short.
I didnt see a detonator, nor did i see brick. Left him lmao
I prefer letting Royce live - you can hear him talk about technomusic after
Accidentally got this on my first play through, and in later runs I played around with the other outcomes
