so frank did us justice maybe 😳
Ngl I chose the Corpo lifepath because of that high society aesthetic. Having V know how corpos operate in dialogue helps too
Especially if you play as a Netrunner, only wear suits, the aesthetic runs deeper lol
@@championastartesexactly my current playthrough, cold hearted corpo netrunner
@@FreauxZone Don't forget, take it a step further by only using Smart Weapons, rolling around in Luxury or Super cars
@@championastartesna that defeat the “net runner” build only hacks babyyyy
@@championastartesAlso, when your character name is John Wick and play exactly like John Wick style.
this game has so many little details like this, it's insane, even though it would cool if all life paths had these side missions and not just being relevant before you first meet jackie and become a merc.
To be fair, every lifepath does have an exclusive side mission to their path. I just wish there were way more than one for each.
There are a couple more I may cover. Heck, an early Regina mission that seems a throwaway causes about 4 different outcomes linked to loot and interactions later.
@@DiceTTRPG oh?? Interesting. Can’t wait to see which that is. I love how I have 500+ hours on this game on two different systems and I’m still learning/finding things.
@@DiceTTRPG
Wish each life path had nothing but exclusive missions tied to the life path selected. Hopefully CDPR will take this feedback and implement this in Cyberpunk Project 'Orion'.
Fun fact, the plot to take out Abernathy backfired on your boss too, Arthur Jenkins. If you go to the columbarium, he has a niche there.
wasnt there something written like "he was loyal to arasaka till the end"? i kinda forgot
@@reixieyeah it was
I’m still mad that Arasaka stole Jackie’s body and now I can’t go and visit him at the stinking columbarium
well that's weird because i killed arthur
@sethmarongg if you're talking about that corpo-exclusive side mission where the scruffy guy with the beard confronts you and tries to kill you, that wasn't Jenkins. That was that guy that you can choose to have a brief conversation with at the beginning of the game as you're on your way to Jenkins' office. I forget his name.
The only happy endings in Night City happen in Jig Jig Street
Going to cream all over them Joy toys
“Got something that’ll keep you ___ for hours”
@@loominizer31lol if a girl isn’t creaming all over YOU, you’re doin something wrong
“This is how dark cyberpunk can get” walks past the whole of Evelyn Parker’s storyline for one (1) bloody handprint.
Yup.
For those who don't know, Abernathy tries to have Carter killed after informing on you and Jenkins, since he knows too much as a low-level. But rather than giving her the satisfaction of ending his life, he chooses to end it himself.
That is infuriating. Literally what was the point of selling them out? Lol he died for it. He might as well have kept his mouth shut. He’d have a better chance of living.
@@SusanaCanales1 the risk I took was calculated . . . But boy am I bad at math.
Man corporations in cyberpunk suck ass
How does he end himself?
@@emilioa.bayardoarceo758 Drowned himself in one of the rivers or whatever in game. You can actually find his body underwater somewhere, on it is the last conversation he had right before he drowned himself: it was with his mom
They could seriously make an entire show/game just around the Corpo life and it would probably be amazing.
Cyberpunk if made by the right people would be awesome nontheless, no matter what people are playing the man role for that specific media
I personally thought it was the life coach cuz he said he detected crazy hormone fluctuations or something. Always dismissed Carter as being just some random nobody which I guess is kinda the point.
I thought it was Frank for years.
@@DiceTTRPG I just thought of something maybe the corps watch your hormones levels to monitor employees. They act as if it’s to help your mental health but it’s really so the higher ups know when you might be doing something you’re not supposed to. V’s implants probably picked up they were conflicted and scared so V got flagged in the system and someone (maybe carter) reported it to Abernathy so she sent Frank and those goons to investigate.
@@michaelrandolph6373 That's a good theory, because of V's apprehension to taking the gig. If his Life Coach caught that, there's a high chance it was recorded elsewhere.
@@DiceTTRPGstill messes me that this game came out YEARS ago already, feels like it's been a few months
@@michaelrandolph6373First off, my V ain't never scared
So never be nice to Carter, got it.
I like the Corpo life path the most because it gives the most validation to what V later does and why they are able to do it.
At the beginning we learn from Arthus Jenkins, V's boss that Abernathy climbed so high in Arasaka ladder because she outmanuvered Jenkins. But also needed him to keep her position due to his effectivness.
She only removed him when his underling betrayed him to her. And from the shards we learn that not only Jenkins and V were targeted but an entire Arasaka Counter Intel in Night City got purged with V being the sole survivor.
But just as Abernathy was able to climb so high thanks to Jenkins so too she was completely incompetent to run things down when he was gone.
That is why things like Heist, Japantown Parade and more things were made possible. As Arasaka went virtually blind.
Abernathy couldn't create an effective new Counter Intel and initially she fumed her anger at her underlings and purging her own Special Operations Section, Frank included.
Eventually there was no one else to blame left but her. And if V chooses to aid Hanako and mention Abernathy, we learn that she commited suicide.
I think the Corpo life is fitting for V. Being a corpo in the Cyberpunk universe is frowned upon. If it wasn’t for that betrayal, V’s eyes wouldn’t have been opened to see how bad it was from a different POV.
When talking with Panam and Saul, I like defending Panam as a Corpo because you had first hand experience having worked in one. haha
Being a StreetKid also works for the exact opposite reason, being on the top you ignore everything beneath.
Being on the bottom you see everything above.
@@braydenchadwick9836 I like how the corpo V kinda gets humbled and becomes a streetkid pretty much, also works perfectly with my Batman/Murkman playstyle im doin rn lmao
I like Corpo V. I like the start to it cuz the whole vibe is super cool seeing the inter workings. I like to think that having done work for Arasaka would give V a leg up so he can really end up running night city. Also makes sense why he’d be done for a whole raid on Arasaka or yo side with them. Maybe he’s fully over it so he’ll go guns blazing or he’ll get back in if he can.
Nah street kid is clearly canon V. It’s all talk about being a legend in night city that’s a street kid thing. I wish if you chose the other two life paths V would talk about having a different goal. Nomad V finding something to give the family an advantage or corpo V winning a high seat in power
So the guy i actually sympathise in the beginning was the guy that destroyed my life .?
Talk about trust issues 🤣
That's CORPO life, they take their superior out and and get their position.
@@KitOkunarionly carter didn't last that long
Jeez cutthroat as hell
@@aaronmccann4511he got your position
The one you skipped thanks to Jackie, a corpse.
Trust no one in NC.
I loved finding all the different bits of info about the Russian fixer. I thought it was neat that you could find traces of this person all over night city, and they were just something you could easily miss if you're not reading the little stories.
I did all the regina giga before doing the hiest so when i walked past him in konpeki plaza i recognised him.
Its fun replaying the game and finding characters you probably have met yet or whose quests havnt unlocked for you.
Yoy can see panam in the afterlife, judy before you meet Evelyn
@@QueueWithACapitalQGustavo, a friend of Jackies and one who shows up to his funeral is also one of the targets for a hit mission. You can also find shards around like one where they find out a hotdog stand owner is the one who told 6th street where Gustavo is and another where Valentinos try and get revenge but they fail. Love that sort of shit this games awesome
@@myvaginis3403I actually killed him before getting around to Jackie's funeral on this go round and they had dialogue; they mention that a Valentino boss couldn't get out for the funeral and that Gustavo Orta is also dead, and that they're going to find the killer sooner or later
When that guy gets Engrammed, I'm firing him personally.
I love corpo lifepath, it's been my only lifepath in 1000+ hours with this game.. Everytime i try to switch and try the other lifepaths, i always end up creating a new corpo again after the prologue, lol.
It is an interesting life path as a concept but definitely most boring in the game play sense, it would get really tedious for me to replay that intro when noman or even street kid ones are more fun in terms of game play in the prolog mission itself
Corpo was my favorite too. Getting screwed over and betrayed definitely seems fitting in the Cyberpunk universe as a corpo.
I like the corpo suit, it looks so smart
My first pt was a corpo, tbh was kinda disappointed cause V never even seems like a corpo to me. I love the idea though, but streetkid v for V's voice acting and lingo fits the most.
@@AtlisDe Definitely. I chose Nomad whenever I wanted to choose some of V’s nicer dialogue choices, but even then he sounded like a street kid.
I found this by accident yesterday. The gamer in me immediately jumped in the water. Even got a skill up on my athletics for it :D
If a corpo stabs you in the back, don't worry about getting even. Their lifestyle makes sure they all get their due soon enough
Really wish CDPR had at least one more year to work on this game before having it shoved out the door could only imagine what it would have been like if they had all the time they required to perfect it and not having to remove so much content
I would have loved all the lifepaths getting massively expanded upon. In fact the entire game pre-heist needs to be expanded upon. We don't get enough time with Jackie.
Holy shit. I’ve passed by this car and didn’t think anything of it before. Crazy.
Damn I would have liked to see a corpo chase lead you to that scene, or a news reel or something, damn.
There’s something so poetic about the Corpo life path. You start the game almost in the lap of luxury but you’re a slave you’re miserable and alone and at the end of the game when you ride off with Panam your a nomad with a quickly darkening prognosis however, you’re happy and you have a family..
I first played as a Streetkid, which seems to be the intended Lifepath as it seems more fleshed out than the others. Playing as a nomad in my second runthrough, I was surprised at how many skips there were and how quickly we reached the montage of V and jackie becoming friends.
I Disagree. Corpo Has You Befriend Jackie Way Before. So His Death Means More If Your Corpo.
@@eagleye2893 That’s true!
@@eagleye2893 main reason why I always go Corpo you knew Jackie all your life.
@@edge1247😢
@@eagleye2893i mean corpo v just makes so much sense, youre at the top then youre kicked out to street scum, you go through all that shit to get in power, only for in the end to realize its family and friends and the people you love that matters. Panam for the win
I wish the game studios that made this game actually changed all life paths story mode up because I’m playing as a corpo now and I wish we had more missions invoicing Meridth Stout, finding out who sold you out so you can get revenge, and many more things. I feel like had the life paths been different the corpo would’ve been one of the best paths to choose.
Corpo life is when barbarians can dress and talk smooth, but will still stab you in the back.
The Evelyn Parker storyline was enough to give me a “WTF 😨” moment and set a precedent on how dark the CP2077 world is.
sad part is , that kinda stuff isn't even exclusive to cyberpunk world , that kinda stuff happens irl , ppl get taken in that line of today's work and that stuff happens to them
@@mithvibes4727 I feel you. It’s just what happened to Evelyn alone is horrendous. Being put in a vegetative state by the voodoo bois, being R**ed by your boss while in the vegetative state, being sold to the scavs, being forced to do snuff BDs, disabling all pain inhibitors so you genuinely feel your excruciating end over and over again, and once your done with your BD recording sessions you’re being R**ed by cybernetic freaks and anyone else that’ll pay said freaks.
The real world is a cruel place but if what happened to Evelyn ever became a reality, the world and everyone that’s on it would be in a much worse place.
street kid for life
The worst part of that is the lack of a response from V. Not even a single throw away remark
What’s there to say? He played the game, lost just like V but unlike V he didn’t benefit from friends like Jackie. So he ended up under the bridge.
Not only someone stabbed you in the back, but also, Arasaka was able to pinpoint your location because V demanded to land the AV on Lizzie's bar basketball rooftop, the AV warns V that isnt an authorized landing ground, but nevertheless V lands no matter giving away his exact location, hence making it easier for Sakas goons to chumpatize you
Reading the shards on the ncpd scanners can also reveal backstories to gigs where you can find that the crimes are connected. I just love the little details in this game it makes more expansive than it seems.
The Corpo life has potential to earn or spend more money as well for dialogue options and infornation otherwise unavailable. It's never much, but I love the "money talks" aspect to the Corpo life.
This game could use a new DLC that give more depth to the paths.
Always thought Abernathy betrayed me to gain a one up with his boss.
Another! Great tidbit of info, thanks dice.
If you look on the wiki or pay attention to the game and continue down the path, you find out that more or less nearly everyone involved is dead. I was curious as opposed to who did who in.
so is this the corporate story line i always see cool parts of the story i never got to see and now i’m realizing it was just cus i was on the wrong story
Found this naturally and it blew my god damn mind
cyberpunk never a happy ending
I knew it was him who a
Soild v out
"Dark"
600 hours and 5 playthroughs, and i still havent noticed his body til this short.. wow i love this game
On the flip side, that Corpo life made it so much easier for me to connect with So Mi (Songbird) in Phantom Libraty.
She and Corpo V have a ton in common.
There's no happy endings for anyone in night city. Thats why its better to go out a legend.
When frank called I hoef you got to kill her
Corpos never forgive. Corpos never forget.
Honestly I was soooo annoyed when they forced my out, I thought I could have a corpro experience
CDPR can definitely win back alota respect from the community if they do a DLC that revamps the prologue and life paths, so instead of a 90 second cutscene of graduating from mama welles attic to Vs apartment we get to play those jobs and gigs of moving up in the NC merc world. Such a DLC would be a perfect opportunity to add more romance options.
Goddamn. Nice catch.
Corpo is the best I think in terms of lore and dialogue options in the whole game.
"toaster is broken" has a new meaning now
Damn i just drive pass that car and was just thinking its random car
I was shocked at this too
I found that car but I didn’t find any body just the bad with the shard, I even jump down to where I assumed he’d be .. the water and nothing
I never knew that. Headed there as soon as I get through the heist on my new corpo net runner
That bastard!! I never knew who tatle. That was pretty cool
Genuinely thought it was Frank for so long.
Now 2.0 is out, I’ve just re-downloaded. Bought Phantom Liberty and now it’s time to start my very first Corpo play through!
Frank as Abernathy's counter-intel specialist gave me the impression of someone who only acted on limited info and tracked down V, but I never figured how his team found out about the shard. I guess "somebody talked" is an age old scheme that still applies to Cyberpunk.
I just found a live NPC in an inaccessible zone that scared the fuck outta me the other day
ok i gotta do this now i remember i went this path an bumped into frank again but now knowing this i'm a play corpo again
FTR: Abernathy also eventually got the axe. Literally everyone involved in this chain of events was flatlined as a result, and only V got better (thanks Johnny!).
specifically on cuts, the lifepaths were meant to be actual quests about your origins. So much stuff was cut, it still feels disappointing no matter how many fixes there are.
Carter you little bastard…
At it's Heart, Cyberpunk 2077(both Videogame and TTRPG) is a Noir Story. Noire story's never have what's normally considered a "Happy Ending" by any stretch of the word. It's more about what you think your PC can live with at the end of the Day. There's honestly no TRUE "Villain" or "Hero" in Cyberpunk(or Noire's in general), just Shades of the color Gray. Even Martinez from the Beloved Edgerunners Story had his own flaws and Problems, for all the good he supposedly did. In the End of it all, Vee just wants to be Remembered for SOMETHING, To not fade away as a sidenote in the history of Night City, despite him being just a Mercenary in a City full of them.
And that, my dearest Chooms, is the Truth of Night City...
Bruh i thiught corpo was gonna be intensely different. But it being so subtle was weirdly scary
Huh.Thats a detail I did not expect.
It’s crazy how we just ignored the Witcher magazine in the drawer
Hey dice! Whats your favorite lifepath?
Corpo and it was my first pick too when I started. All my friends went Streetkid.
@@DiceTTRPG haha i picked street kid for my first lifepath but then switched to corpo. The dialogue options and the first part of the story is really good
Ended up taking by pure chance the Corpo ending too. So my entire first playthrough was way too on the nose.
Corpo which is a surprise because I thought it would be my least favourite. Turns out I love it and the idea of getting back at the people who ruined Vs life. Kinda makes you and Johnny having a bond legit as well because you hate the same people
Imho every life path should have three missions that give one of each: gun, set of clothes, car. Even a fourth a mele weapon
Is it just me or does the corpo lifepath feel like the most fleshed out andthe devs intended start?
Well now I gotta find it!
Do you ever find out what happened to that asset who you can decide to pull out or keep in position
Wll be taking those eddie
how is this dark 💀💀💀💀
Do we know If there any from the Nomad Choice as well?
I fucking knew it! That little rat.
This game has so much dialog, it's hard to tell when the game begins and harder to tell when I'm having actually having fun. Edge runners was awesome though, not gonna lie.
Mega corps are just larger more organized gangs with political power.
bro if cdpr could add more lifestyle content man..i love this game it has so much potential
I really wish there was a way to go and pay them all back.
I found him and was not really that surprised, it had gone down that way given how ruthless Arasaka is as a corp knowing what I knew about Abernathy it struck me as her all over she clearly does not want any loose ends even the people who grassed V and her own boss up are expendable too.
I chose to be a nomad but I wanna try all 3 so when I’m done I’ll do corp next
In the beginning I thought Frank was the Frank from Frankfurt.
i jumped in the water and found a corpse in there with some loot and more sad lore :)
What you meant to say was you start as corpo get stabbed in the back and Isekaied into the street Kid life.
the lifepaths are only useful for the extra dialog options imo. my first play though was as a corpo and i don’t even remember how it started
After playing nomad first I was never able to play corpo. I wanted to but it just felt dirty. Considering my first characters world view it just felt like betrayal
"Dark topics" lol
Traitors on corpo path was that kid Carter and Frank
Honestly, frank seems like a descent dude. He's just trapped in the same shitstorm V is. And when V asks for another chance, he gives it to V instead of firing V
all i gotta say is, Karma
Carter, you beetch! 😂
Tbf if the plot didn't need to go where it did V probably would've ratted out Jenkins. What a ridiculous request "Abernathy was mean to me, kill her V!"
I just found this guy about 2 hours ago, but Im doing nomad path. Decided I will try to find this Abernathy and avenge this guy but well not gonna happen lol
VERY COOL.
I see him in lizzy bar...so i know true from start
4 times through the game and I read maybe a 20% of available things. Life moves on I guess 😅
The corpo is the suckiest life path.
While the life passs were extremely watered down I still enjoyed them
getz his ahh
I never knew he was the one who betrayed you
