I have a great tip for you! Instead of the screwdriver, use a steel wallpaper seam roller to press down both edges at once after glueing. I'm a paperhanger and the tool is multi-taskworthy.
@@FixitAll thanks buddy! I'm doing a luxury vinyl plank floor and I have a few spots that are sticking up where it didn't bond and hold to the tuff grip pressure sensitive glue. It's really frustrating but your video helped me alot and put my mind at ease for my work day tomorrow! Thanks!
I can add that Goo-Gone will remove the sticky residue left behind by the tape that once held the split seam down. It's fast and won't ruin the repair. Thanks! P

That's is a seam ,no a rip ,just clean and use a resilient glue (glue for vinyl plank) let dry after the color change to clear ,use a little wet cotton tower to push together and clean the excess of glue ,never pop off again

yes. I think they are called a “seam roller“. Even in this time of supply issues, I was fortunate enough to get the last one at the hardware store. Thank you for your suggestion.

@@FixitAll was that just good super glue you were using or a special seam glue? Thanks!
@@cwatson42785 Yes, same as super glue.

@@cwatson42785 Thanks for watching my channel !
Looks fantastic and just the sort of thing I was searching for...
Is it a temp fix or does it last awhile?
(Going to try it either way)
It's been 4 years and everything is fine.
I can add that Goo-Gone will remove the sticky residue left behind by the tape that once held the split seam down. It's fast and won't ruin the repair. Thanks! P
Thank you!
I thought using super glue would be flammable? But great idea...thank you for sharing.
My glue work same as a super glue. So I think you can try super glue.
Hello, what kind of glue are you using to seal it?

What level heat did you use? And thank you so much! Wish me luck...
Maximum and just control volume of heat by distance to the vinyl.
You should have used a plastic putty knife. The screw driver left marks in the floor.

True but at the same time.. how can not love listening to "Watch watch watch" at the end.. hahahaha
Critics should make their own videos. I learned enough from this to do a decent fix

What kind of glue are you using?
Any type of super glue will work.
The screwdriver as made small little grooves . Ya can see it with the light. Also I would have used glue a activater
Thanks!
Would a putty knife work better than a philips?
Any tools will help.
What if I don’t have a heat gun?
You can try use hair dryer on a maximum heat.
