I like the idea of a generator room. All this time I've been leaving generators out in the open, and they have been breaking during raids.
Same was really helpful
I put them on roofs with a tall power pole next to it.
I'm new to the fallout series and this has been a great guide. ty for sharing
Not sure why this was so satisfying to watch but i cant wait to get home and try this out.
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you, everyone else was pretty much saying "attach generator to electric thing with wire".
That generator pairing tip will be really useful for me in the future. If you’re still out there, and if you still look at this channel’s notifications, thank you.
Oh I’m still around, just making videos on other games now :)
@@CurtisBuilds well good luck man. Nice running into you
@@peepeepoopoovdbhxvbcc6683 thanks dude, you too! Hopefully see you on another video of mine :)
Thank you for doing this!! As always, looking forward to more!
+Reazon54ATX Thanks buddy, glad you're enjoying it, seeing you often around my channel now haha xD
This guide is exactly what I've been looking for!!!
Yes! I almost suggested this video, but I had a feeling it might be coming. Thanks for the great videos man. :)
+Samael76 You are very welcome my friend!
I'm really loving your settlement videos! Keep em coming :)
+Michael Whiting I am glad you are liking them, I'll be bringing out a new video every day! So just keep checking back or Subscribe, completely upto you buddy ;)
Only need two conduits for an entire house at Sanctuary. Well the ones that already exist. Also a single 3 Power Generator can power 2 houses at Sanctuary if you only worry about putting lights, and do not use a lot of conduits to power them. In turn this means you can use Wind Turbine generators for most of the "Lighting" at Sanctuary, quiet power in short. =D
You should get the longer powerlines mod. Its very simple and saves you a lot in reducing the amount of pylons you need
Just get place Everywhere and then you place the pylon close at first but then you cn move into anywhere and have as long powerlines as you want.
Thank you for this. Im new to Fallout 4 lol and the electricity is confusing. Plus the limited amount of resources. Let there be light!!
Basic guide or not I needed this, for as long as I've been playing fallout 4, I still could never figure out how to properly power a settlement
Thanks. This was a big help!
Really helpful vid dude
Your character's motions made it look like he was actually talking.
+CursingWithCurtis
Where's that Advanced Guide man? 😄 Great stuff BTW man
Wow this video was great and helped alot
This is a dope ass channel. Subscribed c:
Thank you so much!
thanks for the videos
keep up the good work!
+Vegard Harbosen Thank you very much, I will try my hardest! Got a new video coming out in 16 minutes :)
Now I got to redo my settlements... :p
I was about to click on your vid until I saw "connect wire" I have CREATED LIGHT!!!
Awesome, just plain awesome
+Sully5443 Why thank you :)
Thank you
Thanks
Whatever happened to the video that you mentioned in this one where you were gonna show us how to use the other fancy power-connectors? :( (ex. ones with the delay, or the ones that only transmit powers at night, etc etc)
im back sorry i have bin stuck in the world of fallout 4 but i am back bro now i juat got to get up to date :) love this vid bro
+BIG/TIME /vaper Hahaha! Welcome back! Fallout does have that effect on people lol, same as Skyrim xD
ya sorry about that but i am back to watching vids now lol :)
So I have my power up and running but the number is red idk what that means or how to fix it
I made a small prefab shack and put a switch inside the back without openings, the wire went straight through the wall and I had a switch in my house.
Shit now ima be late to school lmaoo Thanks.... love the vids tho
Lol
Great video, keep them coming :)
Sadly I don't think you can do it this neatly with a bunch of settlements while not spawning in materials, just not enough resources to go around, really cool still though.
+Szer You are indeed correct! Not unless you do a good 3-4 days worth of salvaging
+CursingWithCurtis sorry for asking, but do you mind making a video on it? Please?
+CursingWithCurtis Also I'm subbing
The one thing in this video that is really confusing me is that you put two switches when you were trying to make your makeshift light switch. A generator connected to one switch, and then that switch connects to the other..why do you need two switches again to do that, can you just have one?
I'm a bit late but I did this with taffington boathouse
Great video help, but your stock of items are INSANE! I'll still take your ideas with me to PS4. THANKS FOR THE HELP!
Have you been to Philippines, the wires on the post look like spiderwebs.
ayo. what armor are you wearing in this video? great videos!
+Alexander Thorell Thanks for the compliments :) and it's called "Cage Armor" I found it in a random box but I believe you can buy it from Diamond City, it's badass looking though right ;) I don't think I will change it.... EVER!
How do you connect the wires???
If the developers put all these conduits in, why not add the option of conduit tube?
Please Make an updated version
You can just put pylons on top of buildings and that extends the length of wires.
So you don't need to spam conduits.
+2138Dude Very true but I don't like the look of pylons on buildings haha but it does work!
This game is every engineer and nerds dream!
manz92 yup
I came here thinking this would help me find out why 190 power isn’t enough for my settlement
Where is a good place to get that armor also what is its name?
you can find a full set of X-01 armor at Postal Square. I got a MK-IV, but you can upgrade it to a MK-VI. Try doing atleast around lvl 30
Hi Curtis I'm Curtis nice to meet you 7 yrs later
Well hello Curtis 👋
Haha didn't expect that one mate good on ya anyway wanted to say thanks for the vid never got to play fallout 4 until 4 months ago and appreciate the help
How did you get so much material lol
I started to watch your video and thought great, until I noticed you had the capability of making almost 3000 large generators. I assumed you are on a PC where you can cheat and have unlimited resources. On the PS4, I don't have that option so the video is really for those with unlimited supplies. I like the premise though. I plan to create some power rooms over time. Thanks.
What does it mean when your power thing up top is red any one respond
+Abdiel Weller Not enough power
+Damien C. But I have a ton of generators and it still has red words.
+Random account Then you have something in your settlement that isn't connected tonpower
Get the generator mod. So you won't have to have a hundred generators to power your signs.
Hey Curtis you should do a massive giveaway of fallout 4! (The main reason I'm saying this is because I can't get because it is an 18 and I realy want btw your vids make me want it even more!!!!)
Oh god the memories of when I was a kid begging my parents for mw2 are coming back to me lol
+Gilbert Grape liek if u cri evry tiem :(
How do you have so much copper ? 32k wtf
How come your resources go up to 34k i cant barely make it 100
It's called cheating with console commands... Ahsuhausha
How did you get so many resources?
+eluxsus0195684 Use other settlements to scrap and salvage everything there. Also I collect everything I come across, I don't leave anything behind.
+Christian Smith Incorrect, I will eventually start using mods, when they release some good ones, but a batch file just for resources is pretty pointless =/
+Christian Smith 34k Steel, Wood and Copper and Ceramic is very VERy easy to acquire, I believe I got nearly 20k'ish just from scrapping everything in my other settlements. Adhesive, and Nuclear materials on the other hand require a good bit of grinding. I am not lying nor do I need to lie when I even stated in my previous video, that I have 2x Save files, 1 which is my normal game and the other which is a save is my settlement building only save where I used console commands to acquire 100k+ of every material, thus allowing me to build crazy designs and decide if I like it or not so I don't waste materials in my normal game save. If I was lying or trying to hide something I would edit out things I didn't want you to see lol.
2-3 hours of farming and scrapping other settlements yields very big gains in materials except for nuclear and adhesive.
+CursingWithCurtis
And even in this case, adhesive can be made from plants. Veggie starch can be made at any cooking station from a mix of tatos, corn, and some other plant. This starch when scrapped, counts for a whopping 5 adhesive each.
Since a cook pot already exists in sanctuary, you can throw down a pretty basic farm and literally grow your own adhesive in bulk. Looking for circuits for those pesky turrets? Telephones and hotplates are both fairly cheap from vendors.
So really, the only truly rare mats if you know where to look are nuke mats, fiber optics, and ballistic fibers.
How on earth did you get that many resources?
+Michael Strietz console commnd tgm (toggle god mode)
Dude, how do you have 34k of all the materials? I build one thing, then I'm running around looking for fans and flip lighters for two hours.
PC based. developer room and console cheats. it's the best option for builderz
Dude, I'm sorry but this is not practical in a normal game... I can't make like 20 power conduits for each house in sanctuary... C'mon... Your method might be efficient, but its too expensive to do...
Exactly what I was just saying. I don't have a PC where I can cheat with unlimited supplies.
Derek Lee you dont need PC console commands you can just duplicate it if you're gonna bitch about supply's
THE worst idea ever, you only have to add 1 power connection to the house and the whole house will have powered. You really should give good advise.
Nope, thats not true. As it is with the houses you build yourself, the ones that already exists in the game are made with "square blocks" which are connected one to another. When you place a conduit on a house, it will power only the "block" where the conduit is placed plus all the "blocks" that are directly connected to it. So, the blocks after it will not have power. Because of that you have to do more or less like the author of this video did. As you cant see the blocks the house is made, you have to guess its positions and place the conduits accordingly so all the house gets effectively powered.
THis is like OCD porn
+Pseudomuse Are you also a very fussy builder when it comes to object placement? :)
Absolutely. This was great to watch, and every single time I see vids of people just running wires right through areas and then start having conversations with npcs and a wire is crossing right through the camera, like... I feel a little bit sorry for people that don't give a shit about that stuff.
