  • In this video, I'm solving the cylinder 2, 3 & random misfire issue on a 2008 Honda Accord with a crank position re-learn. I'll show you the exact procedure I use to fix this problem, note you will need a higher end diagnostic tool like my Topdon Phoenix Elite.
    If you're experiencing a cylinder 2, 3 or random misfire on your 2008 Honda Accord, then you need to watch this video! I'll show you how to fix the issue using a crank position re-learn, and how this procedure is usually a fix for many Honda Accord problems. Thanks for watching!
    If you purchased the same Crank Sensor over and over again from the same store, try switching brands. Also have been told by a certified Honda Tech that the starter HAS to be a Honda factory starter.

    my 2012 accord EX-L with a k24 had this exact same issue, misfire on cylinder 2 and 3. Both the Ignition coils and spark plugs were good and a all it took was a crank position relearn and now the car is running perfectly.

    I had this problem before and it's was the starter . I watched a video before on you tube . He was correct . The is after market starter in 09 Honda send out weird electrical signals . So you might want to check if the starter is a non Honda starter .

      I have the exact same problem in my Honda. What do you mean by "relearned the crank sensor"

    • @venicrable
      @venicrable 7 месяцев назад

      Basically you have to reprogram the sensor, it’s done with a higher end computer if you do it yourself or the dealer can do it as well

      A crank position sensor monitors the position or rotational speed of the crankshaft. This information is used by engine management systems to control the fuel injection or the ignition system timing and other engine parameters. This also need to be in sync with your camshaft position sensor, thus the crank relearn procedure, which puts the camshafts and crankshaft back in sync with each other. If they are not in sync, your engine can be really hard to start, show mis-fires, run rough, basically cause your car to run like crap!

      It would have random misfires. Long cranking. Obd2 gave specific codes that all led back to crank cam not matching up.

      @@juniorgonzalez6399 My outlook is, If I'm just doing a relearn, I'm not charging a customer. At the same time, I do not charge to diagnose an issue either. But most shops out there will charge an hour of labor at "their" hourly rate. Even though this take less than 5 minutes to do it.

    Hey, I’ve got an Innova 5610 scanner that is supposed to be able to do the relearn and I watched a video of a guy do it on a gm vehicle but I am unable to on my Honda, I updated the scanner and still can’t, what scanner do you use?

    Do you know which other scanners can perform the relearn, for example the can the Phoenix Lite, Xtool D8, or Launch X431 perform the relearn? Thanks!!

    • @BentOaksGarage
      @BentOaksGarage  Год назад +1

      Honestly, I do not know for sure. But it's a rather common procedure that most should be able to do. I do not recommend Xtool products. I purchased a X8 and it didn't work on many of the vehicles I tried it on. I have a video of it not working
      So, I would stay away from that brand.

    Great video but I’ve had this issue for over a year now. I go to a mechanic I trust and he does the re learn and it fixes the problem and then it comes back about a month later I always go to him and have him do a re learn again and it just keep coming back after about a month. To fix this issue the real fix is to replace your valve cover gasket. Long story but trust me that will fix it. If anyone cares for my explanation let me know and I’ll explain. Great video though!

      thanks for your comment, these are the symptoms on a 2009 honda accord, and exactly, the re-learn makes it work for a couple weeks and then problem comes back, we will try the valve cover gasket to stop oil leaking on the sensor!!
