As a kid, I remember one day I was in blockbuster with my family and I saw a godzilla movie. Up until then, I have only watched godzilla 1985 by some sort of miracle in a vhs my father had. I was so happy to see another godzilla movie, it was godzilla vs that alien thing, I was like "holy sh*t, they made a new godzilla". It was 2006 and that was everything me and my brothers knew of godzilla. Then another miracle happened and we saw a godzilla movie in tv, it was the american one. Us being kids didn't care and made fan theories of that godzilla being like a son to the godzilla of the other movies. Days without internet were truly a time to be amazed and to wonder. Maybe the dates seems weird to many, but I'm mexican, and most of the things that came out in the USA in those days took years to come to México in a decent enough and accesible way.
Your childhood experience with Godzilla was pretty much the same as mine. No one my age cared about Godzilla and called the films boring. I would go to movie stores and hoped to find a new Godzilla film there. I hardly got any Godzilla toys since they hardly made any and if the did they sold them in stores far from where I lived. I also grew up with the pipeworks trilogy.
I'm just a weird guy because my favorite fictional characters are Godzilla and hulk. Something about tragedy being unleashed with a boost of radiation and becoming a force of nature just intrigues me.
I grew up in the longest hiatus of the Godzilla franchise. Before 2014, I saw Godzilla as an allusive creature. I was told that several Godzilla movies were made before I was born. However, I didn't witness a Godzilla movie until I was older. This franchise has brought a lot of nostalgia to me; I enjoy listening to your perspective on these franchises.
I can hella relate to this, as I first became a fan after watching Animal Planet’s documentary on The Big G. I don’t wanna go into too much as to what happened, but let’s just say that era was the worst time to be a fan. Now thanks to The Monsterverse, Shin, and Minus One, I can’t be any prouder than I am now seeing so many new faces and new projects ahead for us to enjoy in the future 🥲
Hey just to let ya know the Godzilla (1998) movie didn't do well and was hated very much but they did a cartoon series on it where Godzilla did fight other monsters and had his version of the Atomic Breath but they called it the 'Power Breath'.
I know of the show, yeah! I didn't talk about it here but I actually like that version of Godzilla! Has a personality of its own and is an overall good show!
@@Outatime86176 Agreed, for me the 98 godzilla was treated more like a scared animal which makes sense when you're brought into an unknown envirement and a bunch of things that hurt you and hurling towards you. The design was unique, it might not be like the og designs but i really like the diferent perspective they put on godzilla on that movie.
I love Godzilla. I use to pretend to be him when I was in a swimming pool as a kid, doing the very slow-motion walk and sound effects of every footfall. Oh, and Godzilla beat the American '98 version (Zilla) in Godzilla: Final Wars I believe. The first I got to see Godzilla was the 1984 version. I cried when they managed to defeat him and the music score was great. Of course, you can never get tired of his signature roar.
I love how that tokusatsu fan/actor shut that laughing woman down and set her straight. He understands the art and it's point. Also I love the use of gameplay like in the Hulk review. lmao
I remember when I had to comb the vhs stores and pray to find a godzilla movie. This video hit a place In my heart and I thank you for making it Ps. I play destroy all monsters mellee to this day. Ugh what a game 10/10 video
I love you for making this. 🥰I just saw the last Godzilla minus one. Did not disappoint. I appreciate you covering the ear as and piquing my nostalgia. Never liked the animation and would love to make more Godzilla loving friends. I’m weird in this regards. Your never mentioned GAMARRA though 😔 I seem to remember him and Godzilla.. or am I wrong. I love playing the Godzilla pinball machine at a local pinball place. I’m so happy about Apple TV show monarch, featuring Godzilla Id love to bow to the original filmmakers and suit actors and visit the studio someday. Now a Godzilla ride/them park. I see Godzilla making a very large comeback. Your ending where they say hi to Godzilla, I remember that and the flying Godzilla….wow. Ok sorry adult geeking out over here over Godzilla.
gotta give the guy in the Rubber suit Almost died many times from how hot it got in there and Moved the way he did while sweating Non-stop may he rest in peace!
I don't know why I love Godzilla I love the hidden meaning of each moives all the sound tracks a big thing for me is the cover art because I remember when I was a kid going to block buster seeing the 20th anniversary cover art it just always stuck with me and over the years I enjoyed it more and more now I have memories watching with my family my wife and hopefully my kids one day it just means a lot and always will even though they are cheesy they have a charm to them my favorite will always be the millennium era but I love all the eras but I enjoyed your video keep up the good work bro 💯

4:18 you mean super Sentai since power rangers didn't come out till the mid 90s
Yes, that’s what I meant actually. That was a mistake in the video haha. Thank you
