Get a manager. Thats what they get paid to deal with.

@waitertheresmore agreed but you are advising about service in a restaurant and how to deal with difficult guests
It's not your business nor is it your right to give anything away without permission of....a manager or owner.

It really depends on the relationship with the owner/ manager.
Taking good care of the guests is in everybodys interest.
But I agree that if you’d feel like it’s not appropriate to give something away then you should follow your gut feeling.
But everything else should be applicable still.

All good, I might add it’s almost like being a comedian, drop the ego reaction and you can deal with almost anyone.

Yes but managers aren’t always around so it’s good to have a backup plan cause some guests come in and out rude

I mean I understand that that In work you have to behave your self but patience some time has it limits you can not solve someone’s problems neither Im gonna be their psychologist especially when they do it in front of a lot of people

This is where we need to remember that it’s not personal.
Yea patience wears out but you can work up your patience by practice.
Just tell them what they want to hear because the other tables will tip you and give you cred for handling the situation well.
Nobody likes a Captain that panics and screams when the ship is sinking
