Yes and another note on this I forgot to mention is that just because your delete those files, you can still reopen the project at anytime and Premire will simply rebuild them if you need to go back to a project later.
wow thank you.. I kept wondering where all my memory went and kept deleting files and uninstalling programs until there was nothing left to get rid of.. you just freed me 300 GB!
Thanks! Literally cleaned out 48 gigs of space! I usually go into the temp folder for After Effects and Photoshop, but I knew something else was taking up space and it had to be Premiere Pro. I just didn't know from where lol.
For those of you on Windows or not finding the files: keep watching the video, he tells you how to clean up from inside of premiere and there you will also see what folder it is using!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! My MacBook Pro kept running out of space and I had no idea why...I had a feeling this was it but I just cleared off 15GB of cache files!!
I've been having that exact issue. My Mac has gone extremely sluggish, 500MB video used to take 18mins to render, my latest 5min/500MB video took 6 hours to render. Can't wait to get home from work and clean out my computer and get it back to what it was!! Thanks for the video :D
hi do you know how to do this in El Capitan i have been trying to clear my cache like i used when i was in snow leopard but now that i upgraded to el capitan i can't find the media cache files folder
This is great and I found it just as my machine at work was struggling and hit 0MB available! Now got 140GB to play with again phew! Library folder is hidden on my machine, so clicking Browse... actually just jumped to the folder I was working on last and not the media cache files folder. The Clean button didn't clean anything either. I ended up quitting and going to the desktop, clicking Go and pressing Alt/Option to get the Library folder to appear in the dropdown list. From there it was easy to get to the cache files.
Hi Brandon! The thing in my case is that I tend to edit in different hard drives depending on the project I'm working on. Where do I have to save cache? Is it mandatory to change that location every time I change my project hard drive? I've read one option could save the cache files in the same hard drive: the "Save Media Cache Files" check box. Do you know if cache files are saved along the usual project media? Thanks in advance.
I didn't find the path you had. 1. I use Windows 8.1 64-Bit 2. I use Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 Version 8.2.0 (65) Build. So if anybody has issues look for this path: "C:\Users\Username_XYZ\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\" or Go to "Premiere Pro". Search for the "Edit" segment. Go to "Preferences" and then finally to "Media...". There you have it as well.
Hello, I have a question. If I delete the rendered stuff while working on a project, will that free up some space & help my computer run faster. Or will I have to render everything again?
hello thanks for your video, just wanna ask something just bought my imac( Retina 5k, 27-inch, late 2015 processor 4GHz intel core i7, memory 16GB 1867 MHz DDr3, graphics AMD Redeon R9 M395x 4096 MB . here's my problem i tried to edit my my video in Premiere Pro cc but there is a pop op message that says no enough memory and need to close other software infact i just open only my Premiere Pro. and it hang the reason i bought this because am annoyed with my 21 inch imac and still same problem with this new one just bought this 5 days ago. any help that would appreciated thanks.
from forums.adobe.com/thread/2152942 In order to clean (or "trash") the media cache, you can delete these files. With Premiere Pro closed, navigate to the location of these folders and delete the files manually. After you delete the files, then empty the trash. Note: Deleting the files manually with Premiere Pro closed deletes the current media cache files, as well, which is what you want to do when troubleshooting errors.
i deleted what it was in the folder (57 gb) but eventually premiere gives me these errors when i try to open it!! “The application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b).Click OK to close the application.”
Anyone know how to fix audio from going off sync? The audio is fine at the start but into the video it become real bad. Its a pain in the ass. Thanks in advance.

How do you get to the finder to find this? I'm new at Premiere PRO CC.
I don't have that tab "Premiere Pro" on my premiere pro cc 2015.
THANKS
