    For those of you having a problem not seing the appdata folder, just show the hidden files in the control panel to do this:
    1. Select the Start button, then select Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization.
    2. Select Folder Options, then select the View tab.
    3. Under Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then select OK.

    • @JordanDueck
      @JordanDueck  7 лет назад +1

      Glad to hear dude! Cheers!
      Basically it's just shortcut files, like a cheat sheet for Premiere to be able to run files way faster and prevent unnecessary lag. If you delete them and then re-open that project, premiere will automatically start to rebuild those files and usually can do so in a few minutes depending on how many clips are in your project :)

    This is hillarious. It never ceases to amaze me the amount of people in the comments who only discover this having used the program for years. 😂 But i do remember the RUSH when you do find it! 😂 why dont people specify their own cache folder in the preferences so they can regularly go into it and remove the content!? 🤷🏼‍♂️😂

      Try using proxy files to edit your footage if your computer is having problems handling your editing. You can search on RUclips editing with proxies in Premiere and you'll find plenty of useful videos about it. It will definitely help you edit files your computer can't really handle, such as 4K footage or even regular HD footage if you don't have a top of the line editing machine.

I know there's more than that in cache because I came to this video a few months ago and did this and I got about 70GB free'd. I don't save anything to my desktop and about 50GB of that has been taken up, so I know it's Premiere. What should I do now?

      Yes. Edit - Preferences - Disk Media Cache ... set your own folder. It is better to not have it on the same drive as your software/OS.

      No. The programs will just replace what it needs as it needs them.

      Oh gotta ask did you go to film school, I went to one in Australia called Film and Television Institute. I was trained on Avid and Final Cut initially.

      +Original Mag_Zi - dude, sweet deal! Sounds legit! I've always wanted to try avid just to see what it's like to use.
      Myself, I technically never went to film school. It's a long story but I was applying to Med schools when I got a concussion. Had to drop that so I finished my last year doing a minor in film studies. So technically, but not really 😄 it was all theoretical and not practical.
