Insidious 1 and 2 will forever be my favourite movies. The confusion set in the first one with the events like the break into the house and then it all being explained in the second one is just insane to me. I love it so much
2 wasn't scary for me but I liked how the director used the further to link back to events of the first movie explaining why the apparitions disappeared why the door was busted open etc.

Gonna be lengthy but in Christianity their is a deep pit called gehenna or the dungeons the valley of the aboding damned children where anyone that broke gods laws were sent to relive their suffering without comfort or release of death. This place is almost like a purgatory or a void, the real Astral realm i saw a glimpse of it when I was anointed and my soul was damaged what I saw was interesting, I saw angels but I could also see dark spirits and some of the fallen angels. They all had red eyes and were trying to torture me. But God protected me and said "you shouldn't be in this place you're Alive and you don't need to see what's here." It was an interesting experience but when I talked to pastors or family about it they called Me insane lol until they felt his presence and shut up.

What I loved about the first two Insidious films was the time dilation. Moments tied in with each other between the films with simple but cool things like the pounding on the front door (and it’s eventual opening) being Jake all along, etc. I just love shit like that in movies.

You know what I just realised? The Bride could never get Elise in the Further, despite countless attempts, because he was dead, and Elise was alive. And the only way the Bride was able to reach his goal is to get into Josh's body, thus becoming alive again and killing Elise from there. It fits perfectly :D

The first time I watched it, i had all the lights in my house off. That was a big mistake. I was so terrified that I turned every light in the house on, even the rooms I wasn't even in.

The ghosts or demons in these movies were great. Super creepy and left an impression of unease that I havent felt since i was a kid watching Nightmare on Elm Street and i was too afraid to go to sleep that night because i thought Freddy would get me.

I like the concept more than anything, but I'll admit that there are plenty of flaws, like in many modern horror flicks that try to use "jumpscares galore" instead of using true horror. Second of all, don't judge a person's entire taste just because I said something positive about something that you hate. And for the record, I have seen better horror movies.
Suicidal Forest I've seen some foreign horror movies too, dude. Japanese horror is some of my favorites, especially the folklore. Like I said, stop assuming what my tastes are. I honestly always felt bad for Parker, aka: The Black Bride.
He was only a little boy, and was forced by his mother to be a girl, and kill people. He may have wanted to possess people, but in the end, the only thing he really wanted was his childhood back. The man was a mess since childhood. Maybe if his mother hadn't treated him like that, he may have been able to have a normal life and afterlife.
Yo I just watched Chapter II yesterday and felt bad for him too. Especially after seeing his smirking picture in the hospital flashback scene and when Elise was talking to him as a boy, asking for help.

I'm always frustrated by these movies because I never care about the main characters and I'm distracted by the random people in The Further. I want to know more about the smiling family! And the Long-haired Fiend! And Parker's life! And the old man who keeps saying, "he's got your baby"! I don't care about Quinn, tell me more about that creepy smiling lady who points Elise to the door!

That remided me of the true story of ed gein, the ghoul of plainfield. Horrible story.
One mistake, Elise didn't move on to heaven at the end of Insidious 2. The final scene of the movie is her two assistants going to another house to speak with a family and Elise's spirit is with them, who's able to be seen by the younger daughter at the doorway before she slips inside to speak to the older daughter, who had died and been resuscitated after an accident, bringing something back with her that we don't see, the final shot being on Elise's horrified reaction to whatever it is.

Insidious 1 was brilliant and at the time it was something completely new, fresh, suspenseful, scary and one of the best atmospheres like the music. Lipstick face I was hoping would return but they haven't done anything with him yet which is the bummer.

I don't know if I would consider Insidious to be something new but it definitely does something that most horror films can't seem to do nowadays and that's build suspense and atmosphere. Doing stuff in the dark is such a great way to build tension because you can play off people's fear of not knowing what's dwelling or waiting in the dark for an unsuspecting victim. You don't see that kind of stuff much in other recent horror films.
Cole Cash and the Insidious 1 violin suspense music was so good. Also Insidious 1 was its own thing. I'm I don't really like the movies that followed but number 1 is still one of my favourite horror movies.
I never really followed the trilogy strictly but i can appreciate the creativity in the writing and how they managed to explain everything is interconnected in some way, props!

I went to see the first insidious in theatres the second day it came out and it was amazing. One of the few horror movies that actually had me on edge during the first impression.
