Emirates is fabulous! I had a medical emergency on board a flight once and when we landed I was taken off the plane at Dubai and put in a little golf cart, taken to a little hospital in the airport where I was treated till I was out of pain. We were worried about our connecting flight, but the doctor told us that if we missed it the airline would put us on the next one. We asked about the cost, but the treatment was free to Emirates passengers. The only thing we had to pay for were my prescription drugs at the airport pharmacy. We were treated with friendliness and courtesy throughout what should have been a horrible experience, but wasn't thanks to the airline. I would recommend Emirates to anyone.
It's so nice to see a realistic travel vlog... So many on here splashing the cash on super fancy upgrades etc. whereas you keep it real on a budget 😂. Excellent :) great as always Tim!
You don’t need to splash the cash to be honest, I’ve done two premium economy flights to the US with Virgin Atlantic in the last 5 years, and had enough points to just do an Upper Class rewards seat to Boston. Mind you, still not that cheap - Virgins redemption fees are astronomical compared to many others! I’m no vlogger, but I did do a couple of shorts to show the other half who couldn’t come with.
@@jackwatsonepic626 Being able to budget is very important. They always use the same gate at STN so need to wait for the gate to be displayed. They should soon be increasing the flights to STN on par with before Covid levels.
Emirates is the best economy class we've flown in, but I prefer their A380 to the B777. Dubai airport is ridiculously massive and it once took us half an hour to get to the gate! Look forward to your next video.
Thanks Tim, really enjoyed this video. I’ve just booked to fly from Stansted to Dubai with Emirates and your video has reassured me of what to expect 👍

A lot of the comparisons you made were against what you'd expect on short haul flights. Most long haul flights you'll only really board from the front doors through the the jet way and complimentary food and drink usually comes as standard. Full cutlery is a surprise though as that used to only be in premium economy and upwards on most airlines.
Always enjoyable and interesting to view your travel vlogs. I have always understood that Emirates were a cut above all the others (well, you get what you ay for. Usually!) and I think you showed this was definitely the case, even in economy.
Great travel vlog. I love the way you have to walk past all the posh seats before you get to yours. Loving the originality of your Vlogs lately definitely a must watch channel.
I know Lufthansa and KLM used to be very good to fly with in economy class. I flew with them many times in the past and they always treated economy just like business (business just got more free perks and additional space). However, the economy still had good space between seats, it was very comfortable. I would love to try Emirates, it looks very good for economy seating! The bathroom looks very nice as well; exceptional for economy. The food looked great also! Business pleasures on the economy level - Very Nice! :):)
Strawberry and Redcurrant Crumble - worth the trip just for that! Though I was thinking would I want some custard on it too. Emirates have always been great value, they seem to have the newest planes. They used to codeshare with Qantas which is how I have experienced them, and a cute thing about that is that by way of that codeshare "Emirates" flights went to regional Australia. I've only transited through Dubai, but now I want to go there to see the baggage hall! Thanks for the video.
Fantastic video as always Tim. I haven't been on a plane in 23 years, the airports and procedures have changed so much, I wouldn't have a clue what I was doing....I think I'll stay in good old blighty!! Looking forward to seeing the rest of your time in Dubai 👍
I am in my late 50's & have never been on a plane. Honestly, it's not the actual flying that fills me with anxiety,...it's everything else leading up to departure & knowing where to go etc 😧
I’ve flown both upstairs and downstairs with Emirates. Easily my favourite airline. I gave up on asking for an upgrade a long time ago. I had a little success, early on, but never since. Upgrades are determined before you arrive at the airport, these days. Don’t expect that shiny gold card to help. Revenue comes first - the airlines have gotten very slick with this.
Great video Tim. Stansted is my local airport but I always use Gatwick. Stansted is just so busy and there are always queues for security as well as immigration when you come back. We’re always straight through at Gatwick.
Well very surprised about the toilets..being so clean and tidy after four hours travelling...it all brings back memories travelling to Saudi Arabia where we used to live
you say thee SIM card is random but actually its such a good service. I live in Dubai, I always tell people to take the SIM card and use it. gives you the ability to call and use wifi/book taxis off the plane. can't imagine BA ever doing that! great airline, on a PA with QA economy which is also fantastic.
I live under the Birmingham flight path so hear the EK 777s a couple of times a day coming in to land (on a clear day I get a view of their red underbellies) Nice to see them closer up 😊

Great video, Tim. Good to see you on a long haul “legacy carrier” where you still get full service. Pleased to see that stanstead has now got emirates flights. They are timed to arrive in the middle of the night like that as so many people will use emirates to connect to destinations in Africa and Asia - these take off early morning to arrive the next day.
Mr Tim, in 2001 flying Kuwait Air between Bangkok and Kuwait City I was unknowingly upgraded to Business Class, it wasn't until I got on the plane and was told to turn left when I showed my boarding pass (it was a 747) that I realised. At the check in desk they had said nothing. My dear old mum had flown back a couple of weeks before me and the same happened to her. So free upgrades really do happen. The only sad thing is that Kuwait Air is dry, so no free champagne for me, but the food and service was superb.
I've seen other videos of flights to Dubai on Emirates so I knew it would be good, but I didn't know that the taxi's were that chaotic! I'm looking forward to seeing the hotel and the rest of your trip , thanks Tim
It’s just very fast paced your not in a queue for long I assure you and they are very efficiently coordinated. It looks worse than it is but it’s so busy the footfall is huge 😊
Having been watching Sam Chui for a while you always get to see the First Class or Business Class areas (though he does plonk himself down in Economy for 5 minutes occasionally!) it's nice to get a review of the seats that most of us will travel in for the entire journey, and also a budget airline v luxury airline comparison rather than different flag carriers. Though he did visit the kitchen where your food was made in his last video!
Nice one Tim! Love Dubai, it’s our go to for a family getaway! Last October we stayed at The Obelisk for a week and they collected us & dropped us off by chauffeured Mercedes for a very small fee! No waiting around for taxis. Can’t wait to see what you get up to in Dubai. Enjoy, it’s fabulous!👏👏👏👍❤️
You have to be careful and not be massively overcharged. It’s always very good to contact your hotel beforehand to see if they do provide or can provide (for a fee) a limo or shuttle bus 🚎
Hey Tim , this is Dubai always full of surprises, welcome to Dubai , all tourist do receive a Du SIM card on arrival from immigration to keep u connected while ur stay in UAE and Emirates is the best airline , Hope u enjoy ur stay in Dubai
Hey Tim, not sure you were checking your seat on seatguru, in case you did, please note seat plans are sadly not maintained by seatguru any longer (you would need to check out alternatives such as seatmeastro or aerolopa)
Flown with Emirates out of Manchester twice now, both times on the A380 and each time booked economy seats and then was given the option to upgrade to business class with the online check process (paying in total around £650 for a business class seat, which was about a 5th of the normal cost), economy is very good, but business class is second to none. We also booked in advance the Marhaba meet and great service, they meet you at the plane, whisk you off by buggy and through a dedicated entry lane (considering the size of the airport have been in the taxi to the hotel within 15 mins of landing in Dubai). Cant wait to go back, ❤️ Dubai.
I have a case like yours, on my second time of use the little clips you fit in the lock part snapped off, so keep a eye on that, not surprising the way the luggage is treated.
I did this exact trip last week on my way back to Dubai after visiting family in London. Definitely prefer flying from Stanstead as a good alternative to Heathrow. Also Emirates is unbeatable with entertainment, ease & service. Hope you have a good stay in Dubai.
as much as i hate flying , that flight looked really good,. dubai aiport looked a bit confusing though and those taxis , my word they were confusing too . i cant wait to see your hotel, i bet that was amazing
I didn't realise that Stansted had medium haul flights to such places and I thought it was just short haul.I think that I flew from Heathrow when I went to Dubai.
I traveled this sector back to New Zealand. Arriving at Stansted was awesome, swift and straight through. Unfortunately, going backthrough on the return was a different matter!! Emirates are great to fly with.
My auntie got offered an upgrade from economy to business on emirates flight from Birmingham to Dubai. She didn't even ask for it, but she's an attractive woman in her early 30's so defo pretty privilege at play
Me and my wife flew that service last Boxing Day, and your experience was way better than ours, your food looked nicer. The aircraft we had wasn’t that new and I always book extra leg room seats and I am aware they don’t ever recline but these ones were very narrow and very uncomfortable. If we ever fly Emirates again I would seriously consider flying from LHR
That looked amazing, nice and comfortable. I had to chuckle when you said it was a longish flight. Try flying anywhere from South Africa overseas, now that is a long flight...😅
Several years ago, I was lucky enough to fly first class on Emirates paid for by my then employer - oh my days, that was the experience of a lifetime - but even flying economy, Emirates are excellent. Singapore airlines are fabulous too.
Apparently business class prices on the Stanstead to DXB service are cheaper than from Gatwick or Heathrow. It might be because its a older aircraft with a older generation seat.
Either you did your homework (on Seat Guru ?) or you were lucky because we fly this route regularly and 47 A/B and J/K are the seats we always choose. The 3-4-3 seating always seems quite claustrophobic ! The only downside is that any turbulence is maximised because you are so far from the C. of G.

The gate is the same set up as Jet2. Handy with the WH Smith and quiet, cleaner facilities.
Hey Tim, not sure you were checking your seat on seatguru, in case you did, please note seat plans are sadly not maintained by seatguru any longer (you would need to check out alternatives such as seatmeastro or aerolopa)

More videos like this just love your channel
It’s excellent that service for when family come out to stay with us 😊
Thanks Tim very interesting and great video as always look forward to the next Yvonne 😊
Great video, not a bad flight, looking forward to seeing Dubai from an honest point of view 😀👍
Totally agree!
There is a complimentary shuttle service from the Airport to Premier Inn DIA. Would of been quicker
Loved watching this! Palm trees in the airport!! Brilliant vlog.
love these sort of videos .. i haven't been in a airport since i was 15 i'm now nearly 50 so theres so much that has changed
as much as i hate flying , that flight looked really good,. dubai aiport looked a bit confusing though and those taxis , my word they were confusing too . i cant wait to see your hotel, i bet that was amazing
Wow that airport was amazing enjoy your stay tim, can't wait to see your videos 😊
Thanks! 😃
This vlog offers a great insight into the whple experience thank you
my experience with those suitcase locks is that they lock and secure no problem, but try and unlock then. forget it
I thoroughly enjoy your reviews. Bravo!!
Enjoy dubai can't wait to see your adventures
Great videos Tim always entertaining...Thank you
9:01 what is a British airways plane doing at Stansted?
Tim well done another great video so excited for more xx
Several years ago, I was lucky enough to fly first class on Emirates paid for by my then employer - oh my days, that was the experience of a lifetime - but even flying economy, Emirates are excellent. Singapore airlines are fabulous too.
Apparently business class prices on the Stanstead to DXB service are cheaper than from Gatwick or Heathrow. It might be because its a older aircraft with a older generation seat.
Nice video. I hope we can FINALLY see some different jeans/trousers in Dubai!
You wish, i bet Tim has 6 identical pairs
Great video Tim very nice airplane very confusing when you arrived in dubai with taxis everywhere liked the airport in dubai certainly different
A great review - having flown PEK-MAN (and back) a fair few times on Emirates; they really are a cut above - Economy doesn't get much better.
Either you did your homework (on Seat Guru ?) or you were lucky because we fly this route regularly and 47 A/B and J/K are the seats we always choose. The 3-4-3 seating always seems quite claustrophobic ! The only downside is that any turbulence is maximised because you are so far from the C. of G.
Apart from the food Geoff, it was a very enjoyable vlog , always fun and entertaining, you are a breath of fresh air Geoff 👍
I just love your videos Tim.... Always cheer me up😊
11:10 i had a heart attack when i saw they served the water in containers 😅😅 im flying today so this video was very helpful. Thanks! ☺️
Emirates best airline I have travelled with from Australia to the UK, we had a lady taxi driver in Dubai. Always a very busy airport.
Flying to Dubai, Emirates is by far the best.
Enjoy your stay, I'm looking forward to your Videos 😊
Great video as always! Can’t wait to watch the rest of your Dubai videos! 😀
Yay! Thank you!
I flew with Emirates from Newcastle International to Perth Australia via Dubai in economy in June 2019 and they were fantastic.
Wow, what a beautiful Airport Tim
would be nice for you to return to UK on an A380 and gave a comparison between the two (4 engined double deck aircraft)
