I know, right? I've only ever flown economy. It's not comfortable, but the fact that we can even afford to travel at all means we are better off than most people in the world. This fall, I'll be flying business class for the first (and probably only) time in my life. I planned and saved for it, and can't wait to see what it's like!
I once got the amazing opportunity to fly as an unaccompanied minor on Emirates flying in between Ireland and South Africa and emirates staff were kinda enough to let me move to first class on the flight! When I borded the flight I was economy class but soon after the staff came to me and asked me if I wanted a “cool seat” 14 year old me, with no hesitation said sure and they moved me to 1st class for the rest of the flight to dubai where I was taken to the kids lounge and had an amazing time there, 4 hours after my lay-over I got on another flight to South Africa (O.R Thambo) and once again I got on the flight and was asked if I wanted a better seat and I said “I don’t mind” the flight attendant smiled and took me to first class! This was amazing and Emirates is my favourite airline!! I know many other airlines probably would do the same but because this was my first time flying alone and they treated me so nicely and offered me nothing but the best was an absolute blast and I had so much fun on board!

I had the best experience with flying emirates. In fact it was my first time flying ever. I had a huge huge fear of flying. I always told all my friend and family that I would never ever fly, I would rather die. But then I met someone from Indonesia and decided to face my fears (granted I did research how to get there by train, cruise ship, even freighter ships. But that was extremely costly)... For the flight I received xanax from my doctor so I would stay calm. At Brussels airport, I also asked for special assistance (I have a form of ASD, so I can get that) to guide me to the gate and let the crew know my fears and that it was my first time flying. I got to board the airplane first, and a flight attendant came to let me know what will happen (although I knew exactly what would happen and when since I am ironically extremely fascinated by airplanes). It is more the not having any control at all when flying that gives me fear. Thankfully the medication sedated me a lot so my fears mellowed away significantly. When we where in the air one of the flight attendant came to me to have a chat and check if I was doing okay. She then invited me to come to the galley in the back. There I had a chat with all the other flight attendants, they showed me where everything was and how they did their job. Afterwards, they took a Polaroid picture of me with the whole crew, signed by the whole crew. A huge thanks to the entire crew for putting me so at ease on that flight. It was highly appreciated, it helped more than you could ever imagine. Thank you Pasia, Mariana, Hassan, Liane and Mouhamed from flight Ek184 8 October 2019 BRU - DXB.
Flying Emirates is amazing whatever class it is. Stop nagging, some people dont have the chance to travel abroad. So lets be grateful and appreciate pleasures of life.
Flying Economy with Emirates was my best flying experience. During 12hr flight my nose started to bleed, at least 3 stewardesses took care of me like I was the most important passenger at the time. I like your channel, but don't let it seem that there is anything wrong with economy

I flew this from Milan to JFK. I was stuck in the very last row with my family because air travel is a mess this summer. The flight attendant actually went around to take pictures of families! We got a Polaroid in a little frame. I haven't really traveled much but this airline really made a great impression!
Sam is 100% right. My long haul tips follow, I am not a frequent flyer btw. 1) Fly on an A380 for long haul. 2.) Pay extra for an aisle seat 3.) Avoid proximity to baby bassinet areas 4.) Select your seat very early, you might get lucky & not have anyone sitting in the middle seat. 5.) Bring an extra jersey in case it gets cold 6.) Choose a seat close but not too close to the toilets 7.) Try to get plenty of sleep before your flight. 8.) Bring your own headphones, they will be much better than what the airline provides. 9.) Don't book tight connecting flights or you will spend half the journey stressing out! 10.) Have some games, music, etc on a phone or tablet in case the IFE does not work. Maybe a book as well.
another tip. Go trawled a closer seat to the front of the part of the cabin. When I was flying on business class on the lufthansa 747-8, they ran out of a meal i wanted because i was in the back.
Another tip: Don't be afraid to order another meal. Airlines have so much leftovers they have to throw them out and they're more than happy to give you more.
Nahh, Japan airlines economy is better and enjoyable, just because the seat is wider, more spacious, and the leg room is insanely bigger than Emirates, but the entertainment wise definitely Emirates
My best tip about flying in economy is, be lovely and polite to the crew! It's a really tough job, and they do enjoy being appreciated. In return they will make sure you're well looked after. I've had lovely conversations, and even an additional dessert on occasions from the Emirates crew that made my flying experience just that bit sweeter
I’ve flown business class 15 times, and economy 10. It’s not surviving, it’s frankly amazing and I feel grateful whenever I fly, if it is on flair or emirates, I’m always completely grateful to be at 37,000 feet in the air

No I think this video was targeted at families and or normal people too. It’s a luxury to fly don’t get me wrong but in packed flights it can be very tight. But then again, that is coming from a claustrophobic person..
Are you joking? “Survive” the luxury of flying on emirates which is one of the best airlines in the world? “Survive” flying on an airplane in economy which almost everyone does around the world? I can’t believe that Sam has gotten so used to flying in luxury he forgets that this is how everyone enjoys aviation
i agree, ive never been on emirates, but i have been on turkish. from what ive heard emirates is better. and the turkish one itself was much more expensive then united or something.
Honestly flying economy is flying economy, it’s no more comfortable than other airlines. What Emirates is excellent at is its service which makes you feel a lot more at ease, however the seats, legroom, etc are relatively similar to other international airlines.
Indeed ' survive' is not appropriate word. Even if the food with simple standard pasta does not seem wonderfull, Emirates, with its planes, inflight entertainment and good service surely remains one of the best airlines of the world
True, Im mad at Sam chui Because he always flies in business and first class. And says that economy class is bad, nearly everyone goes on economy class.
honestly they’re the best airline i’ve ever been on. the cabin is nice, seats are wide and comfy for economy class, the crew are friendly, the services, the pilots takeoff and landing UGH 10/10 chef’s kiss
@@SamChui I have been watching a lot of your videos and this sudden injection of "comedy" is just brilliant! This is what I'm going to do on my next flight to kill time. Just brilliant! :)
I've had some of the best flying experiences on Emirates economy. I particularly like how they genuinely cater for passengers different culinary requirements. I would dread the thought of flying from Australia economy, on any other carrier. Emirates set the bar high so you always know what to expect.
When competition is taken into account actually nothing like that exists for Emirates. Their service and care is exceptional and the best in the business wether it be Economy or First Class . Hats off to them🎩
Emirates, economy class feels like first class. even though the seats are smaller than first, the crew takes so much care of you and come to have a chat asking how you’re doing. i remember as a child i would walk around the plane excited to land and the crew would talk to me and my younger brother showing us around the plane and even got some extra snacks (my parents were asked of course). they brought us so many things to entertain us and never got bored. we even got a polaroid picture with the crew which i will never forget. i can’t wait for my upcoming trip back to lebanon in september ❤
Bub Gaming my son a couple of years ago flew Malaysian Airlines to Perth leaving the uk on Sept 11th arriving in on Friday 13th. Not the greatest of combination of dates for anyone that superstitious but then announced ‘it’s ok mum if I don’t arrive can I claim a refund?’. Not helpful dear. His luggage arrived the day after he did!! ✈️
I have flown with Emirates several times when I go to the Philippines. Emirates and Dubai has a lot to offer. Both inflight and on the ground. The EK staff are awesome. What EK offer, is above every other competitors. Thank you Emirates. On my recent flights, I have seated on 25A/K and 42A.
Sam I’m really happy you mentioned Ramadan. I’m glad you had a chat with Miso it was really important for your Muslim passengers/watchers to educate with that important question of yours. Much love happy flying (United Employee here)

I think a lot of y’all had misinterpreted what sam actually meant. I am sure Sam didn’t mean to offend anyone, he regularly doesn’t fly economy and just emphasized that he’s actually flying economy for once and not premium cabins. I am also sure his point of saying “how to SURVIVE economy” was to say that there is many joys of emirates economy and how to make economy more of a luxury for people as it already may be. I believe his main goal was to give tips on just how to make economy really enjoyable, He could’ve worded it a little better to not make it sound like he was saying economy in emirates is a “Difficult”way to travel but i am sure he didn’t mean to offend anyone.
India.. everything is screwed up. Falling further behind the rest of the world as time goes by. People haven’t seen an English toilet before. Makes for fun scenes in the toilet.
My tips sitting in the economy class is to walk around during mid flight. Sitting too long can cause blood clots in some people. It can also hurt your knees and cause other achy issues. Walk the aisles every few hours and stretch to get your blood flowing. Compression socks can also help prevent blood clots.
Terry, as a retired flight attendant, of 37 years, with an American airline, and flying on so many other airlines for vacation, I truly want to fly, someday, on Emirates, First Class. I know it will never happen but i cannot believe how absolutely incredible their First Class Service was, It is wonderful to watch these videos. The best ever is Emirates First Class. I,m still stunned. maybe , one day.
How convenient.. I’m also going to travel with Emirates for the first time ever this summer! Gonna be on Economy with both A380 and 777-300ER :) i’ve done some long haul flights before and here are my other suggestions: - If sleeping is a priority, then try to adjust yourself to the timezone of your destination. You can do it at least 1 day before the flight or on the very day of departure. I personally do it on the day of a red-eye departure. I wake up much earlier than usual so that i can get sleepy quicker and then sleep onboard. This way time goes so quickly ! ;-) - Bring things on board like downloaded tv series / personal music choice / novels that you may haven’t had the time to read. While the IFE can be good and extensive, sometimes you just want to bring your own favorites. - Bring. A. Neck. Pillow. Invest in a good one because the difference between a good and terrible neck pillow means a lot when you’re not sleeping on your regular pillow. - Pamper yourself on board. If you have a cleaning routine, then try to do it on board. It’s good since the air on board dries your skin. So bring some moisturizer and sheet mask on board! It’ll comfort you. - Bring slippers. I like to assume that i get no amenity kit so i like to bring a cheap hotel slippers and change it on board. Your feet will thank you. - Go to the alley and try to strike a conversation with the crews. You can also do this to your stranger seatmate assuming that they’re not resting. Who knows how long the conversation can goes and what you’ll know? It’s always fun ;) - Bring your cable charger for your gadget. A dead phone or laptop is something that you don’t want to live with on a long-haul flight. - Bring a thin jacket or cardigan no matter what you’re wearing. It can get pretty chill on board. And that’s all. Can’t wait to try Emirates’ Economy in 2 months!

I did UK to NZ with Emirates; most of it on A380 (economy of course) one leg on 777. The A380 was so, so comfy despite a full plane. Great service, room to stand at the front of the cabin, great entertainment system. Absolutely no complaints
I had the whole 4-seat middle row to myself on a Finnair A340 from Helsinki to Hong Kong once. It was great stretching out and sleeping across all four seats.
Hi Sam, you forgot to mention the most important (to me) while flying on Economy, the personal space !!! Emirates seats are wider AND much more space for tall persons legs. That's my main concern on long flights as I can only afford Economy Class haha I flew Emirates 4 times, in February : Paris-Dubai-Melbourne and Sydney-Dubai-Paris and the planes were full in Economy :( did very much appreciate the A380, very silent, the take off is sooooo smooth AND the personal space :) Did almost the same trip this year with Singapore Airlines....I prefer Emirates :)
So I’m 6 feet tall and I’m a big guy . You feel the seats are wide enough and the leg room is good ? I was thinking of booking the extra leg room seat 68A with no seat in front but if the regular seats are good i can save some Money . Let me know .
I was hopping to fly to Dubai to see my precious grandkids whom I didn't see for many years , then I had a nasty car accident , I had a very bad broken ankle , I need a 2nd surgery for it to be fixed , I don't think I can endure the long hours flight after that especially economy , but I enjoy all your flight videos , I fly with you virtually, love it big time .
Whatever seats you have. Even in economy, always wear your smile before take-off and after landing, that will make you fly experience more fun and memorable😍😍
I will be flying on emirates economy a380 from manchester this in a few months. luckily i booked the same seat as of yours seat 50k because i wanted the view of engines from there!! Im glad these tips will be useful for me when flying on a longhaul flight.

I love what his reaction to economy class was, it's hilarious watching spoiled people try to deal with what normal people do everyday
Hi
Oh come on emirates economy is also luxurious fly in a low end flight with your legs squeezed and hear the others snoring with minus 100 entertainment
No I think this video was targeted at families and or normal people too. It’s a luxury to fly don’t get me wrong but in packed flights it can be very tight. But then again, that is coming from a claustrophobic person..
ye lol
@@ok-hx6yi best thing i find is to book a seat right at the back...close to restroom and space to stretch...
I used to love flying economy but when suddenly my dad took me on business class for the first time, I started to enjoy economy just a little less😅
I LOL-ed so hard on the ASMR part. That was unexpected. lol
I know. I haven't seen anyone doing ASMR on a plane so here is my first attempt LOL
Can we keep this to the first and last one? 😂😂😂
@@SamChui I have been watching a lot of your videos and this sudden injection of "comedy" is just brilliant! This is what I'm going to do on my next flight to kill time. Just brilliant! :)

try Economy on an intercity flight in Germany with Lufthansa. That's something you need to survive.

I've had some of the best flying experiences on Emirates economy. I particularly like how they genuinely cater for passengers different culinary requirements. Emirates is legit legendary. Most UAE airlines are. It gives you so much choice and room even in economy

You survive by not complain and being happy you're going on holiday.
First world problems strike again.
It's not even a first world problem, it's that Sam is painfully entitled.
KID 7 he’s not entitled. He’s simply sharing his tips for people who follow him during his travels.
Bub Gaming he’s not complaining though. He’s just sharing tips on his travels for all people who fly different “classes”.
LMAO

I know it will never happen but i cannot believe how absolutely incredible their First Class Service

How convenient.. I’m also going to travel with Emirates for the first time ever this summer! Gonna be on Economy with both A380 and 777-300ER :) i’ve done some long haul flights before and here are my other suggestions:
- If sleeping is a priority, then try to adjust yourself to the timezone of your destination. You can do it at least 1 day before the flight or on the very day of departure. I personally do it on the day of a red-eye departure. I wake up much earlier than usual so that i can get sleepy quicker and then sleep onboard. This way time goes so quickly ! ;-)
- Bring things on board like downloaded tv series / personal music choice / novels that you may haven’t had the time to read.
It’s always fun ;)
- Bring your cable charger for your gadget. A dead phone or laptop is something that you don’t want to live with on a long-haul flight.
- Bring a thin jacket or cardigan no matter what you’re wearing. It can get pretty chill on board.
And that’s all. Can’t wait to try Emirates’ Economy in 2 months!
Thank You. I am copying your suggestions and will place them with my passport. All the best, Luke, an Arizona Cowboy
I always book on Emirates on Economy class and upgraded to business class by miles, that why I love traveling by Emirates :)

Me, a guy who can only afford economy forever: _Are you sure about that._
Hi Sam, you forgot to mention the most important (to me) while flying on Economy, the personal space !!! Emirates seats are wider AND much more space for tall persons legs. That's my main concern on long flights as I can only afford Economy Class haha
I flew Emirates 4 times, in February : Paris-Dubai-Melbourne and Sydney-Dubai-Paris and the planes were full in Economy :( did very much appreciate the A380, very silent, the take off is sooooo smooth AND the personal space :)
Did almost the same trip this year with Singapore Airlines....I prefer Emirates :)
