I love how y’all did not _immediately_ shit on Sansa like a lot of people do. They lack any empathy for her bc she was enamored with Joffrey at first, and the whole thing between Arya and Joffrey, etc.
And like, I get it, but she was a young girl with a very innocent (naive) view of things and people absolutely hate her at first for it and essentially are like “well you got yourself in this position” and I hate it 😩

i still hate sansa to this day, she was an entitled dumb brat till the very end.

3 lives for 3 Dragons; Drogo, her child and the witchy lady, now she truly is the Mother of Dragons - Fire and Blood!
Her child was for drogo so the three lives are the witch, Drogo, and the third life Dany herself which is why her surviving was a miraculous event.

Give props to Jack Gleeson for his portrayal of Joffrey.
He does an amazing job at making Joffrey a deeply unlikeable person.
In reality, he's a really nice guy and had to quit acting for a few years due to the hate he received from people who can't seem to understand this is fiction and he's an actor.
He's done a lot of theatre and didn't return to screen acting until 2020.
And he was only, what, 16 during season one? Incredible
@KayElleBea I think Jack was around 18 in season one, Joffrey was supposed to be 16 in the show, whereas in the book, he's 11 or 12 (my memory is a little hazy, it's been a long time since I read GOT).
Sorry, but you're misinformed. The rumour that Gleeson quit acting because of the supposed hate he received is completely unfounded. He just simply lost his passion for acting and wanted to pursue academia.

@@deano2506 No worries. Yeah, it's very pervasive and has been spread online for a long time. Gleeson actually said it himself that he's had only positive interactions with fans, and has stated in multiple interviews that it was just a case of him losing passion for acting.
In fact, he has never publicly stated anything close to quitting because of hate he received. It was just one of those rumours that spread because it sounded more interesting than the real reason.

There is a deleted scene with Maester Pycell speaking with Tywin Lannister and Tywin totally calls his bluff with some "dude you're not even old, just speak normally" because Pycelle is totally pretending to be frail 😂😂

I can definitely see Devin being a Stark😊he seems to have that sense of honor that Ned had because he was rooting for Jon to stay and remain true to his vows! I think that's something Ned would have advised him to do too. I, and many, would have left to help our family no matter the consequences lol.
ALSO- I appreciate how you both care for Sansa and recognize her strengths and efforts. I've seen so many people dismiss her b/c she's not outspoken and visibly fights back like Arya but they're both strong Stark girls in their own ways❤
If no ones said it, Daenarys is basically the same age as Sansa in the books, I believe 13. But they had to age her up in the show
Yeah. The books have only 13 years between Robert's Rebellion and the first book. Jon, Robb, Joffrey, and Daenarys are all 13-14 at the start. The show goes with 17 years instead.
If you want to get more in-depth with this vast world & the characters' motivations and perspectives, I would recommend watching 'Game of Thrones: History and Lore' [Season 1].
I find that it great for new Game of Thrones watchers that would like more background and context. There is one for each season, but I also recommend watching after finishing each season.

Not A Spoiler: several Targaryen women have had stillbirths with dragon-like features prior to Dany and Rhaego. With the exception of Queen Alysanne (Dany's great x 8 or 9 grandmother), Targaryen women tend to have trouble with pregnancy and childbirth.
Yoooo history and lore between seasons is mandatory. So much hard af backstory and information in there. And it’s very enjoyable, for sure recommend that.
As a Mama, I think that look from Cat when they were calling Robb (Robb with 2 B's nickname lol) was a look of fear, she believes in him, but cannot bear to have him be in so much danger that she could lose him. So the stern look doesn't show the fear in her heart.
I’ve been reading book 1 and all of Robb’s actions and everything we know is through Cat’s POV a mothers pov and yes she fears for him and loves him so much
I must say that I really look forward to your reactions, watching you two young men makes me smile and laugh. You 2 are always a bright spot in this old hippie lady's life. ✌️

You can post it unedited most reactor do them too at the end of each season its put together really well and it’s actually from the official HBO DVD sets recorded with the voices from the actual actors. But it’s copy right free! & gives you loads of useful background info you’ll just understand everything so much better, really worth the watch :)
Now that you've finished the first season, it would be great for you to see Lore and Tradition.
You said Dany had nothing unless she did something special. I guess getting 3 dragon eggs to hatch is something special. Well done, looking forward to season 2.
Season one (and book one) is the best prologue ever. It's all the main characters' backstories. Season two is when the story truly begins, and we start learning about them and watching them learn and grow. This is gonna be amazing. If I'm not working, I'll be at the live stream.
That was by far my favorite reaction from Hobbes. He really started sharing how he felt, and reacting more so than moving the show along (which is important, too). I feel like we got to see him for the first time. To me, he was genuinely bothered and felt for Sansa and that was great to see. Plus, defending his dad was a real emotion.
DevMac getting genuinely upset over Ned was awesome and how most of us felt. It still gets to me.
It continues to get better and better.
PS I didn't think Dany really gave birth to a dragon. I think the witch was creating stories to scare and be cruel. It seems he was stillborn and she created a story since she's a witch.

Prior to Dany, there were several Targaryen women who had stillbirths with dragon-like features. I do think the witch was lying about his skin falling off and the worms just to be cruel, though.

I really appreciate the debate on whether you would stay with the Night's Watch or go save your family. It's a big choice and everyone would do it differently. Jon would have absolutely gone if his brothers didn't stop him. I actually think Rob would have pardoned Jon if he just showed up, but he doesn't know Rob is about to be crowned King.

Cat is scared that Robb will be in much greater danger as a king vs. a lord. A lot of Cat's story is about worry and grief.
Personally, I find Cat and Robb finding out about Ned so powerful. I feel like as two young men, you both could relate to life just going so wrong that you can only be angry and your mama angry at life with you.

I never noticed this bit of show editing choice before, but the scene change into the bard singing that song about King Robert and Cersei and not wanting to hear that ish at all, is kind of BRILLIANT. It makes that scene overwhelmingly obnoxious. It sets the tone for the climate at the capital, especially for Sansa 😢 yall ready to fight Joffrey 😅

The only thing that makes this more heartbreaking for the Starks is in the show they’re aged up for tv.. in the books Robb is like 15 trying to deal with the loss of his father when he was trying to march down and save him in time.. heartbreaking

There's a lot of literature on why it's wrong to punish a person for something s/he hasn't done, but might do in the future. An unborn baby hasn't done anything worth execution, so how can killing an innocent be justified? The crimes of the khalasar do not justify killing innocents in their midst.
