"As Daenerys rose to her feet, her black hissed, pale smoke venting from its mouth and nostrils. The other two pulled away from her breasts and added their voices to the call, translucent wings unfolding and stirring in the air, and for the first time in hundreds of years, the night came alive with the music of dragons." This passage always gives me goosebumps. It’s from the books.
Love this passage and appreciate you sharing it. I’ve seen it copied and pasted onto another reaction video. You may want to spellcheck the first sentence though….”her black hissed?”
The season opens with ‘Winter is coming’, House Stark’s words, and closes with ‘Fire and Blood’, House Targaryen’s words. The book saga is called ‘A song of Ice and Fire’. And now the story begins!
No one ever realizes that Rob, as the Warden of the North, would have to behead Jon if he showed up there. The law is the law. It irks me when people support Jon abandoning his post and oath. Btw, Lancel is a grown man, just skinny and is Cerseis cousin, not her brother. Not that it makes it any less sick but there you go, lol.
Thanks for the recommendation! We are planning to watch the histories and lore at the end of each season to help fill in the gaps. We’ll post our reactions to them as well!
29:14 it is like the entire first episode was forgotten where Ned beheaded the deserter from the Night's Watch, If you are in the Night's Watch and you leave then you are sentenced to death, there are no exceptions.
great reaction guys. I agree with Greg concerning the sorceress and the way this series causes the viewer to put themselves in the position of main characters and "common" role people causing reflection on choices and decisions that are and will be made. The why, the morality of right or wrong, the strategy etc.......this is riddled throughout the series as loyalty and honor conflict with ambition and control. As messed up or terrible as actions may seem, we are bias as viewers because of how things/people are presented to us, but if looked at from different perspectives things may seem more understandable. Anyways, I look forward to each Wednesday to getting your new upload, keep them coming as I/we are invested with you both. Have a great day.
It was sort of mentioned in this episode and also in episode 9 .. The witch said Death pays for life so Dany had 3 dragon eggs they do need be hatched on fire but it also called for a great sacrifice as well so She lost her son Rhaego so that 1 death 2 more She burned the witch out of revenge but like any said " its not your screams I want, Just your life " so that's 2 deaths and she killed her husband Drogo to put him out of his mercy so in total 3 deaths for 3 lives and the 3 lives went into the dragons Also the old guy Grand maester Pycele stood up and did those lively exercises ... But the truth is he is faking that he's old and slow .. when really he's not
Wow! Thanks for the breakdown, 3 deaths for 3 lives is a great insight, we didn’t catch that! 🐉 🐉 🐉 Hmmm, wondering what Pycelle has been up to in the background ? 🤔
I would argue that the witch's life was not one of the sacrifices Dany made. The witch's life was meaningless to Dany, at that point. Killing her was not a (personal) sacrifice. I would argue the three deaths that she paid were her husband, her brother, and her son.... And my theory is somewhat borne out in future episodes.
She’s had a couple wild theories that I’ve never heard before lol my favorite has to be that the Stark soldiers could purposely become part of the army of the dead so that they could be “zombies” for the war against the Lannisters lol that one had me cracking up
38:05 the scene of him stretching and walking is meant to show you that him being fraile and weak IS AN ACT. A lie that he tells people so that no one sees him as a threat.
I am looking forward to more videos, with game of thrones i do highly recommend to react to the "Season 1: history and lore of game of thrones" it will inform you of some of the series history and make you understand more of the show. @SandGReactions
If you want to gain a deeper understanding of the world; I would suggest watching the Season 1 histories and Lore video before moving on to Season 2. A lot of watchers seem to love those and find it easier to follow and understand the emotions, motivations, and drives of each house. You don't have to, but it's just a suggestion. I love following along with you two, and i really appreciate the time and efforts you put into sharing your reaction videos with us. I really hope you stick with it. It is worth it! Keep up the great work!

Do you remember when the witch said only death can pay for life? Dany paid three deaths her brother her husband and her son and in exchange she received three lives. Her dragons.
Hi,I know that you are already finishing season 2, but I want to tell you some things about Jaime,, I know that many people don’t like him, but he is not one of those who is “afraid” and “weak”, he is one of the strongest swordsmen in that entire universe and the strongest in Westeros at the moment, for example the show cut out the moment of the battle in the Whispering Wood in the book it was like this: seeing the battle is lost, Jaime fights bravely to try and cut down Robb, managing to kill his guards Daryn Hornwood, Eddard Karstark, and Torrhen Karstark before he is captured. He almost killed Robb but failed because he had lost his sword, stuck in the neck of an opponent,he is one of those people who is arrogant but can prove his greatness
This is the second time we've come across a comment like yours, and it really changes our perspective on Jaime. It's true that despite his flaws, there's a certain honor in his character that we hadn't fully appreciated before.
I’m officially all caught up lol loved the reactions and can’t wait to continue on the journey. Would love to see you guys do like a top 3 favorite and top 3 most hated characters at the end or the star of each season separately. @@SandGReactions Of course! Thank you guys too. And ok cool! It’s just a really fun thing to do along the journey to see how your feelings change or don’t change about characters a long the way
Just to clarify, Targaryens may have a high tolerance to heat relatively speaking but the reason Dany didn’t burn was that she used blood magic. She used Mirri Maz Duur’s only death pays for life lesson against her.
@@Nattiie No you’ve misinterpreted what you saw. The book was quite clear as far as Dany understanding what Mirri Maz Duur meant about death paying for life in a blood magic ritual.
@@deonjames1041 Nono I think you’re misunderstanding. The blood magic was used to bring dragons back to life from them being stone, that’s where the magic went. The show is pretty clear in multiple future episodes that Dany doesn’t need a witch or magic not to burn that’s just her thing. We saw her grab the eggs and not burn that was when Drogo was alive. no witches involved then, or when she gets into the bath in EP1. No other Targaryen was resistant to fire. This is also the shows decision because in the books this happens only once but in the show, it’s her thing.
@@Nattiie There was no other time she was able to resist fire other than when she used blood magic, it may have facilitated the birth of the Dragons (that’s murky at best).
No more tears from here on out; there will be FULL BAWLING. I mean like UGLY CRYING. LMAO. I feel cruel. ROFL. Gratz on the end of Season 1. There are 7 more to go. 63 episodes left, by my count. Take your time and soak it all in.
Dany called the Dothraki around her. Fewer than a hundred were left. How many had Aegon started with? she wondered. It did not matter. "You will be my khalasar," she told them. "I see the faces of slaves. I free you. Take off your collars. Go if you wish, no one shall harm you. If you stay, it will be as brothers and sisters, husbands and wives." The black eyes watched her, wary, expressionless. "I see the children, women, the wrinkled faces of the aged. I was a child yesterday. Today I am a woman. Tomorrow I will be old. To each of you I say, give me your hands and your hearts, and there will always be a place for you." A little excerpt from the final chapter of AGOT, it always be something magical. Great job, love your reactions. As the seasons go on episodes 9 & 10 become supersized in length. Often reactors will break those into to 2 videos - like Part 1 & Part 2 - to cover all the material as the episodes are jammed packed of content. Just a suggestion.

You're one of the few reactors who felt empathy for the poor sorceress.😂. Dany might be one of our main characters but khal Drogo and the dothraki were horrible evil people. This is a story where the main characters do things we won't always agree with.
So true. Imagine if the story were told from the tribe's perspective and the Dothraki came and savaged them. Everyone would be cheering for the sorceress bamboozling Danaeras.

We’re still grieving Ned’s passing 😢 … but DRAGONS have entered the chat?!? 😱🐉 let’s go!!!!
Yeah Gendry isn't really the heir to the throne because he's a bastard...but it doesn't change the fact that he's still Robert's son & blood.

Wow .. goosebumps for sure 💯 thanks so much for sharing this passage 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I really wished they would have shown it like in the book with her nursing the dragons, but that would probably be too much for most people.
Daenerys looked at the men and women of her khalasar and realized that they belonged to her as they had never belonged to Kal Drogo

The Kingslayer may be many things (oathbreaker, man without honor) , but he is not a coward.
That’s appears to be true unfortunately 👎

44:07 Bastards are never heir to the thrown. The crown should have gone to Stannis since he is the next oldest after Robert died.
Agreed that the crown should have gone to Stannis
