This whole section of the story with Theon is what made me stop watching during the original run. Way too realistic.
Letting Theon escape and bringing him back was psychological torture.

That last scene with Dany is the scene that put my dad onto the show. Once he saw that scene, it was game over lol. He fell in love with GOT, Dany, and the dragons just from that scene 😂

one of my favorite themes of this story is how learning someone’s perspective can change your opinion of them. this story does a fantastic job of dehumanizing people and then rehumanizing them.
"Granny" wasn't always old, you know. If you google "Emma Peel", look at some pics of her in the role (and the black leather catsuit) she made famous back in the 60s. Her name is Diana Rigg, she passed away not long ago.

another interesting detail about theon in the books is that he had been sleeping with the wife of the farmer who those orphans had been sent to. not sure if they were portrayed as orphans in the books, but it’s entirely possible and within the theme of theon’s story that they were his own sons.

See a lot of people hated theon and jamie so much that they didn't even care when they basically got tortured. I'm glad at least some people can still sympathize with them even though they're terrible people lol

The main point of releasing Theon and then bringing him back was to make Theon feel like he’s never safe and like he has no power or agency in his situation. To make him doubt himself and second guess any chance he thinks he has of escaping and of course to fuck with his head/mentally torture him.
I love that you guys understood the plan to marry Sansa to Loras. So many people watch the scene and think it would be a bad thing for Sansa at this point, like the Tyrell’s are trying to hurt her.

You guys stand out in your ability to keep up with what's happening, know all the names, catch all the lines. Reactors usually miss half of what's going on and it's frustrating to fans of the show because those reactors aren't appreciating how great and smart the show is and how unbelievably well it is written. Y'all are good man. Definitely stay on this til the end. A few other shows that are GREAT? Breaking Bad, The Wire, and my goat True Detective Season 1. All would draw large audiences to follow you through them. A movie? The best movie so many people haven't seen... True Romance. Written by Quinten Tarrantino. Has it all. Wild af, darkness, hilarity, and an absurdly great cast. It amazes me more reactors haven't seen True Romance. There's 0% chance you don't love it. Just my two cents. Roll Tide fellas.

This really is the episode where Ser Sandor Clegane grew on me. The way he rebukes Thoros' accusations is so good!!! And then indeed having justice because he never acts outside his oaths or orders.
"You forgot it's a bunch of thugs that went to the wall." My favorite line of this episode.😂 I would love to have you watch "Sons Of Anarchy." There is a huge community of "SOA" fans to help you grow. Also, I would love for you to watch "Banshee". That is a crazy, good show. And if you've never seen them, "Ozark" and "A Handmaid's Tale."

In the books when Brienne tells Jaime the real reason on why Tarth is called the sapphire Ilse, if memory serves, they were on horseback, Jaime whispers do you want to say that a little louder? I don't think they heard you.
I love how the opening animation shows the Unsullied departing Astapor and raising the city...mimicking this episode finale.

18:50 it always bugs me how quickly and easily theon is walking in this scene. wasn’t he strapped to a cross with his foot impaled on a giant screw drilling through it like two days ago? wouldn’t he still be in agony from them cutting into his fingers and prying off his fingernails? i can overlook the finger part, but it wouldn’t have been much to have him limping/hobbling here.
Valid point. Although I will say, shock will let the body do astounding things. After being tortured, starved, disorented and dehydrated for weeks, I'm sure his body dumped whole pints of adrenaline and cortisol in his system when he thought he had a chance to escape. His blood volume would already have been low, so the concentrations of both hormones in his total volume would have been wild. I walked 3 city blocks with a crushed (like, Misery-style) ankle before I even realized something was wrong. And that was just after a car accident. But you're right, I was absolutely limping. 😂

Fellas is getting into a rhythm with the show. It reaaally gets cooking when you finally start to enjoy the character arcs of ALL the characters. The protagonist characters are great, but the “bad” characters are no less intriguing.
