It has nothing to wither wedding night. Just because this episode is the one right after the one with her wedding does not mean it is the next day, or even the next week. This scene could be many days, or even several weeks after her wedding night.

Also, yes. This show has a lot of time passing. It isn't really told that time has passed all the time. Characters mention it at times, though. Like catlyn stark mentions that she has been praying for bran for over a month.
Also, the road the king and stark are traveling on, they mention it takes about a month to get from winterfell to kings landing and such.

She's not his mom. Ned is Jon's dad but Kat is not his mom. That's why she hates Jon and that's why he's a bastard.
Cat hates Jon bc his presence reminds her of Ned's infidelity every day and Ned won't say a word about who his mother was and why Jon isn't with her. It's very unusual in their society for a bastard to live with one of their parents, especially if that parent has a family. That's less likely for the woman in a relationship, so usually, the child would live with its mom. The father would pay to keep them taken care of if he was honorable, but he wouldn't live with them. Also, bastards can be legitimized, so he's a threat to her childrens' inheritance. Overall, it's a big departure in behavior for Ned, and Cat doesn't understand why he won't trust her with the truth.
The show doesn't really get into it, but the Faith of the New God preaches that bastards are basically born bad and will always tear down trueborn family. That also makes Cat buy into the dread that Jon would manipulate or betray his brothers, no matter how often he proves his love and loyalty.

all the stark kids including jon are really good sibling and they all really love each other (sometimes people forget with sansa and arya cause they fight so much but they do really love each other)

He's the son of another woman that Ned was with when he was off fighting in Robert's Rebellion. Ned and Catelyn were basically strangers when they married, so she didn't hold it against him, but he should have left his bastard in the care of some foster family. Instead, Ned brought him home to be raised with all the legitimate children he and Cat would have together. She feels that he poses a potential future threat to her children's inheritance.
It's also seen as an insult to Cat to have her husband's bastard raised with their children where she has to see him every day. I don't like the way she treats him, but I understand it.

Ned Stark is a true man of honor; that is his greatest strength, and also his greatest weakness.
Tyrian is by far the wittiest character so far, but the best line in this episode is "Stick him with the pointy end.".

the lore so far in the story is that king robert and ned stark are best friends. lyanna stark was ned's sister and was engaged to robert, but was abducted by rhaegar targaryen and was killed. because of this, robert killed rhaegar and took the throne as king, and wed cersei lannister.
Maisie Williams who plays Arya is right handed. She trained to fight swords with her left hand at that young age because she wanted to be true to Arya in the books. (Ive not read them), but I have a soft spot for Maisie/Arya

Also, Jon Snow is the bastard son of Lord Stark. Lady Stark doesn't like him because he's a reminder that her husband cheated on her. His last name is 'Snow' not Stark because he's illegitimate. Throughout the show the follow this same cultural pattern, bastard children are given generic names, not the house name of their father. In the North it is always 'Snow'. In other areas it is 'River' and other common words. Since this is basically a medieval world, legitimate parentage is important. If you are legit, you can inherit. If you are a bastard, you get nothing.

Another fun fact: they kinda do have a hospital, but it’s @ the Citadel in Oldtown and that’s about a week’s journey away from Winterfell. Buuuut they do have maesters throughout the lands in the realm which are like doctors.
It's way more than a week's ride to Old Town. A raven would take 5 to 6 days. It took Robert a month to ride North from King's Landing and Old Town is farther than that.
When we discover Joffrey's nature. It's all downhill from here.

Just a little piece of info - the surname Snow is given to all bastards in the colder/northern climates whilst the surname Sand is given to those from sunnier/southern areas. I've just subscribed but really enjoying watching you both get into the story!

The hound’s grandfather was the Lannister’s kennel master. On one occasion he saved Lord Tytos Lannister’s (the grandfather of the queen, Jamie and Tyrion) life from an attack by a mountain lion. Because of this he was given a knighthood and a holdfast (small castle). This is why their house sigil is three hounds.

A lot of reactors use a whiteboard, big white cardboard, or a book.
They list the different characters/family names, they note important info, where they are on the map, and if/when anyone dies.
Helps if you get confused.
Also, watching the History & lore videos for each season helps in understanding things.

The conversation with Jon and Jaime is more meaningful than one might think. Jon is to join the Nights Watch (Black Brothers), Jaimie is a Knight of the Kingsguard (Brothers of the White Cloak) Both have to take vows of celibacy and forsake all lands and titles. Jaime is taking the piss out of Jon whilst actually imparting some hidden advice to him given their positions are actually similar and he’s being self deprecating on top of all of it because his dream of being a Kingsguard wasn’t what he hoped it would be.

He was just there to show you that some people are just nasty. Arryn was the old guy in the chapel when Jaime and Cersei were talking about their little secret.

I'd take a wild guess and say you're not experienced horse riders. Imagine how sore you'd be after a few days in the saddle. That's why Dany is barely able to walk, why her hands are so sore. Drogo's nightly visits probably aren't helping.
It's interesting, your sympathy for Cat. Most people really dislike her at this point because of her attitude towards Jon Snow.

Many people criticize Sansa but don't understand that she is doing the right thing by remaining neutral. Joffrey is her future husband and king and Cersei is her future mother-in-law, she cannot turn her back on them, by remaining neutral she does not put anyone at odds, and Cersei would have had the wolf killed no matter what Sansa would have said and besides it would have been worse for her if she had told the truth.
Nah cersi only was able to do that with roberts leave, and if he had been made aware that Arya could have been killed by what Joffrey was doing and that’s why the wolf came in to help then I don’t think Robert would have allowed lady to be killed.
@@yomamma.ismydaddy216 of course he would have left her. He wasn't looking for justice or to solve the problem, all he wanted was to get it over with quickly. And he would have given in to Cersei to have peace.

Jamie is a jerk but he was actually keeping it 100 with Jon. At least that’s how he saw it.
Jaime was being a douche to Jon, but it was mostly his own bitterness. When he was about Jon's age, he was all idealistic and became a King's Guard, which is also a lifetime vow with no wives. He saw his younger self in Jon and it irked him.

I tried to watch the first season when it came out and said exactly the same thing about there being too many people to keep track of and stopped watching...I ended up not watching the show until like last year and it's one of my favorite shows now, though.

Game of thrones is loosely based on Britsh history. The wall represents Hadrian s wall that separates Scotland from England. Beyond the wall the wildlings are Us Scots. The north below the wall Northumbria and kings landing is London. The wars to come would be the war of the roses , glencoe massacre and the great war. The characters are of course fictional. Westeros’s is a place here in Scotland and the map is very like an upside down Scottish map. There was a book written that outlines it’s parallel s. It’s a fantastic way to watch historical happening through game of thrones.

Ned should have told Cat who Jon was. I don't like the way she treated Jon, and it shouldn't matter whose kid he is, but I truly believe he and Cat would have gotten along fine if Ned had been honest. Cat was generally a trustworthy person. Ned could see that withholding this info was hurting both of them, but he didn't say anything. He could have.

a lil backstory on king Robert's rebellion 17 years prior to these events you are watching... you'll hear bits and pieces at times, but not a real explanation, so it's not a spoiler...
Targaryans ruled for hundredsss of years on the iron throne and with dragons... the Mad King Aerys Targaryan was king and who Rhaegar, viserys, danearys Targaryans father.... the only 2 Targaryans left are viserys and danearys...
Current king Robert baratheon was betrothed to marry Lyana Stark, Ned stark sister. The story is Rhaegar targaryan kidnapped Lyana Stark. She died.. king Robert started a rebellion against the targaryan throne and killed Rhaegar targaryan and Jaime Lannister is the 1 that killed the mad king aerys targaryan during the rebellion.... viserys and danearys were taken away to survive. That is why Viserys is marrying his sister danearys to dothraki to gain army to take back their family throne.
