Beautiful watches mate! I think the SPB147 is the only 62MAS I'll ever need. Love the gold and brown color scheme, the dynamic cappuccino dial, it's really a man's jewel. I also like the date window at 3 o'clock and I don't mind the lume plot. The small, circular date window on the new ones is not for me, no chance!
I walked in my local AD 2 weeks ago to view their stock. They still have brand new 143, 147, 213 and 297 on display. I especially fell in love with the 147 when viewed it in person. However, I'm still contemplating which to get when the newer models are releasing soon. I put my number and told the AD to notify me when the new models come. I think I will decide after viewing and comparing both gens.
Hey mate I am surprised they still have the 213 on stock display since it’s limited edition and my impression was it was a quick sold out couple of years back. I like the process you are following, your heart will almost make the decision when you see them next to each other
I have the 147 and the 213. They’re two of my favorite pieces. The 147 is pretty-pip and the 213 has the pip. I’m fine with or without. As far as the new versions, your critiques are spot-on. If I were to add a third 62MAS to my collection, it might be the Ohtani model.
Those watches have the 6r55 movement. The watch in your hand has 6r35, that has 70 horus PR. The newer 6r55 has "only" 2 more hours PR. They added 100m extra WR, and the watch didn't become thicker. It became a little bit slimmer. 13.2mm vs 13 mm. Lug to lug also became smaller a little bit. Not much, but considering the extra 100m WR it is not bad. But I agree noone will use the extra 100m. To be honest, the new versions look better, especially the blue and the limited one. Would I pay more for the newer version? NO.🙂 Even if they don't look like the original watch, the new date window with the matching color looks better. Probably the finishing is also better. By the way, I'm wondering how accurate your 6R35 inside your 62MAS remake. Seiko has issues with the accuracy.
My 6r35 are fantastic around 10 second slower a day. It goes much slower if you leave it in the box so the key thing for 6r35s are we have to wear it 👍
But i kinda like the SPB451 and i might just get it. I already have the SPB143,147 and the 213...so that 451 is all i need. I would have gotten the 149 but i already had the SPB187. So that 451 is really attracting me....blue bezel and dial...nice navy blue too.
The 3 Day on the dial is ridiculous, and is a worthless selling point. They should focus more on accuracy out of these overpriced and consistently inconsistent 6R movements.
Agree 3 day is excessive text, but the date window is an improvement.
