Beads of rice is like putting budget tyres on a Ferrari in my opinion. This watch in the whole is ISO CERTIFIED 6425 from the strap,pins and watch. For it to pass the tests it’s impressive when you read the specifications for it to achieve the certification.

I've owned some seikos for 20 years and they don't have a scratch on the hardlex. Ppl who automatically complain about them and prefer sapphire ( especially on divers) really show their ignorance on why seiko makes the decision that it does. For the japanese, having a watch fail is a huge source of shame. And sapphire cracks easier than hardlex

I don’t know why, but I find the design more beautiful and attractive than the SKX007. There is something softer and alluring, perhaps because it is vintage.

As a Seiko fanboy I have to say that this is a faaaantastic collection, and very tasteful with the strap-matchings too. Hats off

I bought this for myself. But my 7.5” wrist found it a touch small. I took it off the original stiff rubber strap and put it on a lovely black Tropic strap. Then my wife commandeered it and it’s now part of her rotation. So it stays in the family!

I've got the cheap folded link clasp and hallow end links. No problems good fit on the end links and clasp is perfectly functional.

Looking at specs misses the point of this watch and it’s lineage.

Im going to buy a NOS SKX007J for $845. Im sad I couldnt get when back when it was $300, but cest la vie. I could buy a "better" watch with the best specs but at the end of the day I wouldnt be happy because I didnt have an skx007j on.

Thats why seiko offers them on highly priced models. Cuz its just better. Period.

I have the grail marinemaster tuna and I had the PADI limited edition SNE tuna and I love them both. They are the best. You should really check the Dvecore HP professional diving strap for these. They have the 2.5mm fat bars.

Congrats on getting one. BTW there's a BOR bracelet from Uncle Seiko specific for Seiko Turtles instead of using that straight edge.

I own the SBDC033 Blumo and I’d say other than the Marine Master 300 the Sumo is Seiko’s greatest designed watch . You’re spot on about it’s wearability, very comfortable.
