    Why did you not take the opportunity to change the language to English on the menus for this demo?.

    One question. For what?

    • @diyonlinegarage
      @diyonlinegarage  3 года назад

      As example if your gear box will not be anymore functional you can unlock on neutral gear!

      @@diyonlinegarage Because the information in the video is wrong in some parts. And: You didn't show the hidden menu of the BMW.
      "Rollenbetrieb" is for the use of the vehicle on a roller dynamometer (dyno - oder in deutsch: Rollenprüfstand). It has nothing to do with transmission or towing / pushing a vehicle. Thats why there is the message that the DTC/DSC will be switched off, when activating "Rollenbetrieb".
      Without this setting it would otherwise be rather bad to use the car on a dynamometer.
      Accordingly, it does not unlock the transmission, like you said in the video (it has nothing to do with that).
      By the way: To switch the BMW to N in such a case, you do not need the running engine. It can be done with just the ignition on (just start ignition by pushing the start button without a foot on the padels and put the transmission mode to N - neutral).
      And: You have only shown the "diagnostic menu". After pushing the start button 3 times, the BMW tells you "Diagnosemodus aktiv".. So it tells you that this is not the hidden menu :-) ... But you were close to the hidden menu:
      The hidden menu is under the item "Entriegeln" (means "unlock" in english). Only here you can get to the real hidden menu at all. You have to enter the cross sum of the last 5 digits of the chassis number.
      It can be found under "Ident" - you said you didn't know what it was for.. It is for example to get the cross sum for the Code :-) - so you simply sum up the last 5 digits under Ident and the result is your code which need to be entered under "Entriegeln").
      You have also randomly clicked around in the code numbers (see 04:10 in your video), but apparently did not understand what "code" should be used for.
      By the way: This has been standard in every BMW for ages (for example in the E9x, E6x, F3x models).. So you could also watch videos of other models to see how it works.
      I hope that explains it.
      Greetings.
