Does BMW store an Fault code / Diagnostic Trouble Code when the navigation / Headunit is removed? Does it store the Fault code with freeze Frame data (Milage / Time). Thank you for your videos.
I need to replace the center panel and find your instructions pretty good. Thanks a lot I have 2 questions. 1. Is the iDrive controller and other switches screwed on to the panel? 2. What are the chances of breaking the clips when lifting the panel up?
The i-drive controller is screwed into the back of the plastic panel. The plastic panel is fixed with pins. After remove the plastic panel, you can remove the controller by removing the screws. If you take it apart carefully, it will be not broke clips.
@@IndiWork Thanks a lot for your reply. I have a 530e xDrive. Do I have to disconnect all batteries before this work? I guess I need to unplug iDrive and Parkassistent buttons to replace the trim. Wondering if it would create errors in the log if the batteries are on.
@@nirmalts did you end up doing this? I need to take out the idrive to clean it (tea spill) and am worried about fault codes. Everything else looks easy enough but since I’m still under warranty for 2 more years, I don’t want to cause myself any additional headaches down the road.
7 years later and this guide has saved me. Appreciate the straight to the point video and no messing around with long intros. Thanks 🙏 🙏
This video was incredibly helpful for my M5 F90, thank you so much! 🙏
