Good for you! You have good taste in Britcoms. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 📺📺📺📺📺 👍👍👍👍👍 😁😁😁😁😁
Watching these episodes really helped me get through the COVID lockdown last year. I truly miss quality television shows like this one. I did not realize it in the 70s, that I would look back on it as a much simplier and happier time in my life.
How the cast of this show could've kept a straight face performing is beyond me LOL.
I wish there was a bloopers reel somewhere!!
Miss Brahms - What sort of a school did you go to, Mr Humphries ?
Mr Humphries - mixed
Miss Brahms - oh yeah, girls and boys?
Mr Humphries - no, just boys //wiggles eyebrows//
XD XD XD XD XD ahahahahahahahahhaahahahahah XD
I personally didn't notice eyebrows wiggle
I didn't get it
Amesh Pettinger neither did I really but I’m just going to assume he meant mixed sexualities
10:30 "How dare you, Peacock? I asked you a perfectly civil question." One of my all-time favorite bits in AYBS 😂
It looks like Captain Peacock is smiling at that reaction! Hilarious!
@@bradredford4846 Ha, you're right, I never noticed that one! I like how at different times you used to see them breaking character (or trying hard not to) in some of the most hilarious bits.
@@sandwichbreath0 haha, it's fun. I also think he's trying not to laugh in "The Junior" when he's talking to Mrs. Slocombe about her being a nippy. 😆
@@bradredford4846 One of my favourites is the one where they're impersonating shareholders to help Young Mr Grace ("Takeover," I think?), and Bannister can't help but laugh when Grainger comes in as the man from Eaton - but then he instantly rolls with it and continues on like it's Mr Lucas laughing, haha.
@@sandwichbreath0 haha, that's a great one! I would've done the same if I were Bannister. Too funny!
I love Mr Rumbold's innocence it's refreshing 😂.
I agree. Innocence is a refreshing word to describe him ☺
STUPIDITY you mean.

He is totally out of it…his whole world revolves around the chance of being in the board room ⬆️, so anything else doesn‘t matter.
I enjoyed John Inman and Jan Holden's scenes. Especially when Molly Sugden joined in and created a battle of the fur coats. Great stuff. 👏👑
The 'flirtation' between John and Jan was beautiful. John had charisma and it took him a long way.
You haven't lived until you've worked in a big dept. store. During Christmas, you'd better have your psychiatrist on speed-dial. A whole lot of fun though.
I do work in a big Dept store and it is craaaaaaaaazy
I worked in one when I was a young man. You're right. Christmas was a trip!
Prudence...so right...been there, done that! I worked for 2 weeks (while in college) in the mall at the Galleria (Houston, not Dallas) because I couldn't sell anything, so I was spending more on gas than making so I quit. A few yrs later I worked at another store in the mall, and that was a waste of time (during the Crristmas season). It's not the fun we have watching this amazing series!
I worked at Sears back in the 1990s (Sporting Goods and Lawn & Garden) and worked Black Friday from 1991 to 1998. Hectic - but I have to admit, I've never had so much fun.
I can relate to this show, specifically the "Gents" dept....for the last 4 years I have sold suits for JCP and it is the same environment as this....never a dull moment with the three of us in the Suit dept
Love it when mrs Slocombe tells off Capt Peacock and just let's him have it hahahahaha
Mr. humphries should stay in the Ladies' department. He'd make more sales flattering all the ladies than he would in the men's department.
Brian Goss I am more worried about the fact that you are 50 and you presume everyone is attracted to opposite sex.
@Brian Goss Oh my God...isn't there indeed. Having him in the women's section is just rip-stitching. I've seen a gay man serving in a "Forever 21" store and he had colorful knee-highs; he didn't try hiding his inclination so he looked utterly ridiculous - I'm also 50+ and I couldn't buy from such a sales person. It would just be too distracting after I entered the store.
@@atri-us That is your opinion. I walk with my husband but don't grab his butt, as I've seen gay couples do; that stuff should remain at home. Over exposure of that lifestyle (media/TV etc.) doesn't mean it's acceptable to the straight people!
Marina Zagrai what are you talking about?
@@atri-us What I mentioned, is what I've observed in public. I've always lived in huge cities, so people don't try hiding their preferences (it's called privacy...some things should be kept private).
I just simply love everything about this program
One of my favorite episodes- Penny Irving, Vivienne Johnson and Jan Holden (along with the regular marvelous cast!)
I luv when Peacock is knocked down a peg or two!
I loved it when Mr.Lucas rubbed his demotion in! So funny!!!
You'd better sign for your tape and chalk!!! 😅🤣😃😂🤤

@@dariowiter3078 I thought Sandra Jovic made a perfectly valid point. You are the one who comes across as an idiot.

Jan Holden indeed is gorgeous👍
I am envious of her British beauty!
@@fortysomethingbadgirls2173 She was 47 years old here....
Are there more episodes anywhere?
Don't ask why, but I always liked this show. It always guaranteed at least one good laugh and constant smiles.
I do love mr. Tebbs voice...I can hear him narrating my childhood favorites... people don't speak so nicely these days...
That Mr Rumbold🤣🤣🤣🤣He knows how to generate a new story from an original one, and without him knowing he's doing so.🤣🤣
Anyone else notice how John almost messed up his line at 7:16
He played it off well. Great actor!
Actually came off as authentic. Brilliant!
This was how it was meant to be spoken . ..no mistake here
Thank you Kris. You're a jolly good man. I'm a big fan of these britcoms since the late Benny Hill. He was jolly good too. In fact, he was hilarious. Keep up the groovy work, baby!
Benny Hill was hysterical. Sad to think that after they chastised him for being so "sexist" and so "demeaning to women" that he'd be completely tame compared to what's on the average station, now.
Mr. Tebbs appears 14 mins in. I began to wonder if he'd left.
In lake forest il. we had a store celled Smiths Mens Wear. Exactly EXACTLY as this! 1968. I mean EXACTLY! Including the floor walker, mr harmon, and mrs slocomb. Even had the exact seperatipn between mens and ladies wear. M. IL.
Was it as fun working there?
I so miss ‘Are You Being Served’ on PBS - it played for many years and remains one of my favorite English comedy series.
"Not on your nellie!" Lol
I don't think the bra was supposed to pop off😅, which I think is why Mr. Humphries improvised
👏🏼 superb acting!
Fixed / pre-fixed prop, it's what they specialized in, props and gags.
It was. He actually did it if you look carefully.
Did anyone hear Mr Tibbs laugh when Mr. Humphries starts playing with the bra?
mr humphries exemplifying the ultimate customer service experience
Lol he's my favorite character
Thinking the same. He turned two free pairs of pantyhose into more than $3000 pounds.
He's my favourite too. It's very sad about the accusations that were made against him after his death in 2007 due to Hepatitis A. He was 71.
@@PumaLyn yes you are right....guess they'll always be haters..he was a brilliant man, actor and unforgettable smile...R.I.P
John Inman aka..Mr. Humpries❣️
@@HarvestMoon21 His "I'm free!" always put a smile on my face. Some people are simply born talented and he was one of them.❤️ May he RIP knowing that his name will live on..
love the part mr Humphries stuffing a bra LOL
this is one of my fav Ep of Are you being Served ?
Mr Humphries is really funny in this video.
Young Mr Grace is funny too.
Mr Grace has still got it!
There are many ensemble casts from the US I wouldn't watch a second time under penalty of death but British comedies don't seem to get old. I watched this series in the 70's and it's still fun.
LOL, I love Mr. Harmon explaining vacuuming the stairs to Jug Ears. 😂
I love them all but Mr Humphries is the ULTIMATE!!!!
I can't stop watching this!!! I love it!!!! Also, Grace and Favour, a spin-off!!
Grace and favour was not as funny as are you being served? From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Mr. Humpheys- "Answers the phone -"Men's Wear" -Love it lol
The meeting in Rumbold’s office is hilarious. Such a funny episode. Thanks. :)
I "died" @ 26:15 till the end!!!" I work as a "head waiter" in a restaurant. Salesmanship & service is what I'm known for. what an ensemble cast of characters! it must have been "Bliss" to work on that show. You see what I did there? "Bliss"
I loved British humour especially from the older shows. Everything was innuendo.
Who else has a boss like mr. rumbold 🙋🏾♀️ makes work hilarious
Mister Lucas @ 19:54 Shows how absolutely hilarious he can be 😅
I love this show me and my dad always loyal sat down at the time this came on and laughed our asses off 😆
