Jomboy - Don't forget soccer and Rugby have no commercial breaks, the game keeps running, that is why you need the ads showing as part of the game if you want to make the $$$$$$$$$$$
@2:56 you can see it isn't a stick that breaks, but instead the left shin pad from the defender running out. It just flies our of her sock somehow as she's sprinting to the ball.
I think they are knee guard inserts that the defenders use with the mask in the penalty/corner things. you can see the middle two defenders rushing out both have them and it flies out of the center right defenders sock.
6:50 we prefer ads on shirts and on the field than being spam by every commercial in existence, when the game is on tv most of it inst commercials like the us
Yeah you’re not wrong. The NRL need them though because they just don’t earn enough money through attendance and members. The AFL is crushing them on that front and as such you’ll find less ads on the field
@@feelincrispy7053 I get having ads on fields. That doesn’t bug me so much. But do they have to be angled so they look like a screen overlay? It’s so unnatural looking.

The deal used to be that non-American sports broadcasts had more ads on the field, but fewer broadcast ads. Now North American sports are starting to get both. And they're all for gambling. Terrible.
For anyone who’s interested, the NRL has a 15-minute highlights on RUclips (they also have a 5-minute highlights, but the longer one is better for replays). Ezra Mam actually scored a hat-trick (reminded me of Mbappe in last year’s FIFA World Cup) and Panthers became the first team in 40 years to win 3 years in a row.

Not the first time the Dutch have been in the CWC, nor even their first win (they've won twice before), but it is their first win against a full member.
The player in the first footage is actually Chou from Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) not Chen from China. Chou Tien-chen, and while Chen is a common Chinese family name, Tien-chen is his given name. His last name is Chou. Just to clarify cuz he's one of the best male badminton players in Taiwanese history
Hey Jomboy, big fan, but the Badminton athlete in the first clip is from Taiwan, not China. I’m 100% sure it was an honest mistake, but I strongly recommend that you somehow acknowledge or correct this. 🤙🏼
That was nuts! Just the Men’s finals alone, the star player being suspended for the first half and watching from a building outside the complex. The head coach bit by a dog! Some awesome layouts as well.
I've loved NFL for a good 20 years but watched a mediocre playoff game on a US stream last season and just couldn't get into it with so many commercial breaks... Its 100% just down to what you are used to, but the game is so much better on UK TV as they discuss x's and o's while Americans learn about having BK their waaaay 🙄 We still have ad breaks of course, but just highlights how vital Redzone is.
That guys not from China. If you no pause at :32 you can see his shirt says Chinese Taipei. In international competition Taiwan is referred to as Chinese Taipai, and competes under that flag symbol shown in the score box graphic. It’s a huge political mess stemming from the ouster of the Chinese Government by Chinese Communists back in the day. The Chinese Government went into exile in Taiwan and established it as the “legitimate” seat of the Chinese government. Internally Taiwan is referred to as the Republic of China.
In the NRL Grand Final some of the ads are real on the field and others are virtual, rendered into the live broadcast in real-time. Even worse, the ones physically painted on the field are all really distorted for someone at the ground, so they appear straight in correct proportions when viewed in 2D on a TV screen when shot from the main camera position. It's annoying for us here in Australia to the point where it's now distracting from the game. I hope the US has a bit more sense.
That stuff disturbs me, too. Additionally, the digital ads are resold to different regions and streamers. So, you could watch the game in one region, and see an ad for say, Taco Bell. Some dude hits a screamer, you clearly remember seeing Taco Bell ad boards in the highlight. Well, then late you go to look for the clip of that great goal a month later, but the rights owners are jerks and the only clips you can find are from the Spanish feed. You watch the clip, same goal, but the ad boards are all Movistar. It's rewriting history. I hate it.

Quite a few times. An interesting stat is all time head to head T20 stats between the Netherlands and England is 2-0 for the Netherlands! Both in T20 world cups!!!
That Duke defender absolutely ruined the saving effort by the goalie. Defender barely gets sick to ball, has no power from her position to clear it herself, so she gently taps it into space past the angle the goalie is protecting (who by the way is swinging to actually clear the ball herself). Awful awful stuff.
I bet weighing 400 pounds would be a huge advantage though! As far as I can tell this sport is just sumo with Best of 5 instead of Best of 1. I'm sure the Japanese pros would wipe the floor with these guys, but it's cool to see the competition none-the-less.
I don't mind ads superimposed on the field per se -- but I *DO* mind when they're made to look 3D or otherwise have some perspective. That shit's awful, no thank you.
as a rugby and american sport fan thats just ludicrious😂no worries with tv ads during GAMEPLAY and at every stoppage in american sport, but wont watch rugby because of ads on the side of the field? the NRL is also ad free on tv during each half
Imagine no stoppages from the kick-off until half time. No Ad breaks. Just action. The same in the second half. You'd be able to put up with some ads on the field.
They're not actually on the field, it's just an overlay on one camera view for the TV coverage. If you see the sideline camera there's big red ads on the in goal area etc, but when you see the same area of the field from different camera angles there's nothing there
They have ad breaks during stoppages, but rugby league is set up not to have many. The ref is the only person with the power to stop the clock, and he'll generally only do it if someone needs to be helped off the field with an injury, if one of his calls is being sent to the video ref or if a fight breaks out. The only reliable opportunity for commercials is right after a try has been scored and the replay shown, because a team takes a conversion kick afterwards and I think they're allowed 90 seconds to take it.
Bit of a mis-speak in the badminton. Jomboy knows what's up (from his WBC and LLWS vids). Chinese Taipei is such a dumb name that mistakes will sometimes be made, even by the best and brightest on RUclips.
As a Taiwanese, I don't feel angry when I hear Jomboy say this. The reason is that this athlete was involved in the "Tokyo Olympics Name Change" referendum in Taiwan and urged Taiwanese people not to choose the option of using "Taiwan" in the name because they were afraid it would affect their participation in international sports events. However, in reality, according to the regulations of the Olympic Committee, it wouldn't have any impact, as Taiwan cannot arbitrarily change its participation name. In the end, many Taiwanese people believed these athletes and voted to continue using the name "Chinese Taipei," which is indeed embarrassing. "Chinese Taipei" is a very foolish and humiliating designation. So when someone refers to this athlete as being from Chinese Taipei or China, I don't mind at all, because these athletes prioritize their professional careers over national dignity.
