Love this. Honestly since the mid 2000s when Sportscenter started to change into only covering Basketball, Baseball and Football I've been missing some sort of sports show that shows other sports. Hope you keep this segment going.
Jomboy, you missed Kiribayama winning the Haru basho in Sumo. It was a nail biter of a tourney! Midorifuji started off going 10-0 which is incredible because he is (relatively) tiny. But going into day 15 it was Daeisho 12-2 leading with Kiribayama at 11-3. They faced each other in the final bout of the final day and Kiribayama managed to force a playoff, which he won to gain his first Division One tournament win. He and I almost cried. Check out Nattosumo for great fight videos.
As an Aussie it’s refreshing to see legit interest in the rest of the worlds sports. Whoever is getting you involved in the US cricket comp is a genius.
He's been doing tons and tons (and tons) of cricket videos over the past couple of years, and his audience absolutely love it, if you look at the comments on all the cricket videos. Baseball fans love it especially, which makes sense, cos they're similar in a lot of ways. The way he describes cricket, the rules, how the scoreboard works, everything like that, it seems like he's done a better job of explaining the rules than anyone else has, cos everyone always praises his cricket videos for how understandable he makes it. As someone who grew up watching cricket, baseball is significantly more complicated than cricket. Cricket is the 2nd most popular sport _IN_ _THE_ _WORLD_ and there's a reason for that. Even kids in third world countries who have no formal education, can easily understand cricket. But rugby union is the most complicated sport on earth, hands down. There's no argument against it. Even the players don't fully understand the rules even though it's their full time job. Every player respects the refs in rugby way more than they do in other sports (like football/soccer) because they have to go by what the ref says because they don't fully understand all of the rules. You'll see in rugby matches, the ref will tell players they're in an offside position and to move backwards in order to be able to receive a pass, and things like that. The ref prevents any rule breaking before those rules can be broken. Whereas in something like football the ref doesn't ever help the players like that. They wouldn't tell a player they're in an offside position and to move backwards into an onside position, they'd simply blow the whistle when the offside player receives the pass and award a free kick to the other team. But yeah fans of rugby union don't really fully understand the rules either. It's the most complicated sport. Although the general gist of it is easy to grasp. Essentially, it's all about territory. It's far far far better to be close to the other team's in-goal area, within their 22 metre line, and they have the possession of the ball, than it would be to have possession of the ball yourself but be way further back in your own half. Once you get that, that it's all about territory and that teams will deliberately give the ball to the other team by kicking it miles into their half of the pitch, then you'll understand rugby. You've gotta watch the team as a whole, and their shape, rather than watching individual players. It's all about that flow, and seeing a player eventually manage to break the line and find a gap and manage to score. Rugby league is quite a bit easier to understand than rugby union. I love both sports, but I've gotta say I do prefer rugby union by quite a bit. It's just such a pure game, it's about big meat men slapping their meaty bodies into each other lol, aggression, strength, battle, war. But it's not only for big men. More and more these days there are much smaller players who are usually much faster and agile and speedier and can run through small gaps in the defensive lines. Rugby union can therefore be played by all sorts of people, not just giants. And that's a great thing. I really hope we can convince jomboy to really get into rugby union this year and keep making videos about it like he has been doing recently with doing breakdowns on the six nations like in this video and in previous weeks like he did a bit on a particularly good try that Scotland scored. Because it's the rugby union world cup later this year. And so it'd be fantastic to see our jomboy doing breakdowns of the world cup. Ireland have picked a good year to become the most dominant strongest team in rugby in the world. They absolutely flattened the six nations, winning every single match, a grand slam, only their 4th one ever in the century or more history of the 6 nations (and previously when it was the 5 nations, and before than it was the Home Nations) Ireland are able to beat everyone they face, right now. So there's a very real possibility that they'll win the rugby union world cup which will be the biggest sporting achievement in Ireland's history by a long long long way. Like in association football, they simply celebrate qualifying for the world cup, that's seen as a fantastic achievement for Ireland. But in Rugby union they could easily win the whole world cup this year. I'm Welsh so obviously I hope Wales win and Ireland don't, but Wales have been shite recently, falling apart completely in the 6 nations because there was a whole thing about them going on strike for various reasons (good reasons, like how Welsh players were forbidden from playing for Wales if they played rugby in a country outside Wales, like playing in France for example, which is an incredibly fucking dumb rule to have, like imagine that in football if they had banned Gareth Bale from playing for Wales because he played club football in Spain with Real Madrid, there would have been riots, and so yeah good on the Welsh Rugby team for threatening to go on strike because of that stupid rule, and it seems like they managed to get that rule removed in the end, so the threat of a strike worked, but either way all this background politics going on ended up really harming the team mentally, and so they fell apart during the 6 nations, but maybe by the time the world cup rolls around they'll be in perfect mental preparedness and can just play rugby with no distractions).

Bit of a faux pas saying Carlton are in "Black and White" even though it does look like it with the quality of the video. Carlton are the "Blues" and their colours are a Dark Navy blue with a white contrast. Understandable mistake but the reason is more the fact the biggest rivalry in the sport spanning over 100 years is between Carlton and Collingwood Magpies. It just so happens, Collingwood's colours are Black and White stripes. Good way to get under the skin of a supporter of either team.
AFL is not really the most popular sport in Australia - just depends on how you measure actually popularity. Sports are sort of regional here and Aussie Rules is popular mainly in Victoria and South Australia (and there really are completely obsessed with it). Rugby League is the most popular code of football eastern states of New South Wales and Queensland.
Love your work Jomboy, you got me in to baseball again, so I love how you are trying to get Americans into other World sports. But the Aussie Football team Carlton play in blue and white, not black and white (it's just really dark blue). That's why they're called the Blues.💙

must engage when it's rugby on jomboy. even ireland i guess....
Scary teens for fan of the week please.
Loving this series as always. Fan of the week is C, cause as she points out "#1"
Sporting v Arsenal Pedro Gonçalves goal deserves a look in
Carlton wears navy blue. Easy to miss if you watch it on TV only because it is a very dark navy blue.
great cool runnings reference
Can’t go wrong with a little cool runnings reference
One of those kids had the same hair as John Connor's friend in Terminator 2. Very 90s looking mullet going on there.
always love me a cool running's reference ... ya mon ....
Ireland have really got a world beating squad right now. It's hard to sweep the six nations, especially with England as the final boss (we English go extra hard in games like that) but they made everyone else look second rate.
Thats why Lynch and Martin are the BEST.
Also I LOVE the Ball in Play League
Letss goo! Cricket in USA 💯
I want a MLC hat!
carlton is navy and white, while collingwood is black and white. ...you dont really want to mess up the two teams, as theyre two of the biggest rivals in the afl
Aussies trying to bring the mullet back is just tragic
I whistle Poodu EVERYDAY!!
the silhouette of two guys holding a trophy looks kind of like an upside down diagram of a uterus
Hey Jomboy you should review the Austin peay vs liberty baseball game. when the coach, catcher, and pitcher all get ejected
Crazy stat cricket is the number one sport watched in the world just because it’s so popular in India
Fan B is easily the fan of the week. They're the only one committed enough (out of this bunch) to wear face paint. Fan B by a mile!
Yo where is the full video of you taking the cricket players bowling? Was it not published?
@cricketexplained8526 I've done a dive but can't find it for the life of me.
I found inventing critzball and pro cricket players try blitzball but I watched them at the time and I can't remember them having cricket style bowling. (Edit: I done a quick skip through as well now and both didn't seem to have the part I'm looking for)
Both those videos were 5 months ago so I'd assume the third would also be around that time.
Fan of the week... B) the Irish rainbow unicorn
The segue music to go to the clips is my ringtone now.
Fan of the Week vote B…Go MI New York!
these are FAR better than the weekly dumb
Thanks for doing more rugby content! You guys should check out Major League Rugby. There's a very good MLR team in NY (the Ironworkers). If you have a chance to go to one of their matches, I promise you'll have a great time!
Jomboy with the cardinal sin of calling AFL "rugby" in the title.
A for fan of the week. Hands down. ✋️
Can't wait for more breakdowns but I love these
2:55 Gerard way wrote a pretty good song about that
Gonna go with fan A.
Going to be backing the Seattle Orcas all the way to the championship, I hope!
Need more rugby content coming from a us rugger
Gotta rock with the Orca's!
Gotta be fan A
A is fan of the week for sure
