@@classyrobot5648 well given how most of the Pokémon games on the switch have Pokémon in the overworld they're definitely going to be back in gen 9 the way they are in Legends. Legends, as amazing and fun as it is, it's clearly just the beginning of the true next generation. Fully open world, Pokémon roaming around, beautiful setting. It's okay getting excited just as long as it's understood that it's still just Pokémon, it won't be perfect. But it'll be fun like all the rest.

Honestly that Porygon-Z sound is perfect.
Voice-replicating AI that is publicly available online is really prone to sounding like general mumbling once it has to process too much information, and that Porygon-Z sounds exactly like some of the examples I've heard.

    • @BfDelano
      @BfDelano 2 года назад +42

I think a regular Porygon should have an 8-bit or digitized voice. First thing I think of is the old Intellivision Intellivoice. It's more known to this generation because of the Angry Video Game Nerd episode where he goes "Beeee seventeeeen booooomber!".
After that, Porygon 2 (which totally should have been Porygon 2.0) would have an almost normal sounding voice.
Porygon Z, since it's basically Porygon 2 glitching out, would have a garbled voice with electronic distortions showing.
That's my take on how the voices should be. But you are right, the concept of the voice replicating AI makes sense for this line. Who knows, maybe my idea for the voice for regular Porygon would fit better for an 8 bit pre evolution.

Minor correction! Porygon Z only appears in Pokepark 1, NOT 2. While park 2 does have actual anime voices, pokepark 1 has voices that are meant to be like the anime, but are *not* anime voices. While some of the major pokemon are the same (pikachu for example), they arent truly anime accurate in many cases.
A bonus fact because of the video game anime voices is that these are a very good way to get pokemon noises without risk of copyright from using an anime episode, plus not having to deal with and background music if you use the raw sound file.

I can't help but wonder if the reason Venomoth originally had yellow and lost it was due to the fact that it's theorized to have swapped places in the evolution line with Butterfree. Caterpie has traces of yellow in it's palette, so seeing it carry over into the final form actually would have made sense. But since Venomoth isn't actually the final evolution of Caterpie... here we are.
Also, if you really want to dig into color palette mishaps, can we talk about how Salamence originally had the same colors as Bagon? And then didn't in Colosseum and XD, as well as Battle Revolution? Yet in gen 4, only the body color changed, and it took waiting until gen 5 to get the full colors to resemble Colosseum's? Never understood that one. With Salamence having supposed to have been called Flygon, I can't help but feel the original design for it has just been shafted over time.

Well, yes, Venomoth and Butterfree were swapped for final evolutions. I don't know the exact reason, but the eyes are dead give-aways. Venonat and Butterfree have the same red eyes AND ANTENNAE!, while Metapod and Venomoth, and to an extent Caterpie of course, have the same eyes. It was either a mistake, or an executive decision cause Butterfree is cuter than Venomoth XD

The very same thing happens between Driftveil City and the adjacent Route 6. If you go to the very east of said Route your Dowsing Machine will point to an item in Driftveil.

4:37 I experienced this just yesterday! I was playing the Blaze Black 2 hack so I thought it was caused by that. I went to try and find the item in Opelucid City by walking through walls, but hitting the edge of the screen just took me back to Route 11.
Just now I decided to go experiment a little bit, and it seems that hitting the edge of the screen in an area will just take you to the next one. I only tried this in Nimbasa City but I assume it's the same for every other location since it happened in Opelucid City as well. Something to note is that if you do this, you completely skip the gateways between cities and routes.
My best guess is that since the item in the video is on the very edge of Route 11, the Dowsing Machine can still pick it up in Opelucid City since its within the detectable distance. The gateways are probably about 10 tiles wide (I'm just guessing at the moment, don't quote me on any numbers) when you're inside them, but when you're outside of them they have a width of about 6 or 7 tiles, which would make the item within the Dowsing Machines range, even if it's just barely.
Sorry if this doesn't make much sense, I'm not too good at explaining stuff lol.

4:36 Something kinda similar happened to me in Pokemon Ruby. On Route 105, there's a hidden Heart Scale on a small isolated patch of sand, and directly above it there's a y-shaped line of rocks that act as a fork between the path to the Regice cave and the path to Route 106. The Itemfinder will go off on the opposite side of the rocks, but much further from the item than you'd think. While on the correct side of the rocks, you have to be right next to the island before the Itemfinder will beep, whereas on the wrong side you can be much further West and still get beeps.

So excited when i heard pokepark being mentioned in this video as it's one of my biggest comfort games and part of the franchise that i love, though i must point out (this has probably been pointed out before but still) the footage is from pokepark pikachu's adventure, not pokepark 2. Porygon did not make an appearance in pokepark 2 as the second game was MOSTLY gen 5 pokemon with a few exceptions mostly pertaining to the first game, such as drifblim being the fast travel, and misdreavus being there for pictures

I love these, not just because I get to learn new info about a series I’ve loved my entire life, but also because I still have many of the games so every new fact video shows something in a game I’ve played that I can either go do myself now or think “oh wow I didn’t notice that, that’s wild”
It feels like a lot of the circles I follow are very focused on current and newer Pokémon games, and that’s understandable! But I always come away from these vids reminded of why I continue to love Pokémon even past “they’re like animals with superpowers” and feeling like picking up those games again to go find these things and see them for myself (and then get lost just enjoying a game I love) - Thank you !!

Not sure if this has been done before, but if Steven's Metang in the double battle you right with him as an ally in RSE gets enough experience to level up (usually due to a combination of Metagross' evolution level being lowered and higher exp yield due to randomizers or challenge run level boost), it will evolve. This isn't accessible except through hacking as far as I can tell, but it's a very interesting mechanic nonetheless, that in gen 3, your double battle npc partner's pokemon will be shown on screen evolving after the battle if conditions are met!

6:50 - as a heads up, I believe Noibat and Noivern also have that same background as Tornadus. They’re listed as “Flying/Dragon”, while every other flying type has “Flying” as the secondary typing.
So even though Tornadus is the only PURE flying type, its background in Pokémon Go is not unique.
