I'm surprised you didn't talk about nosepass, in the Highlands map, there's a group of nosepass that are all facing north unless you interact with them, exactly as past Pokedex entries and lore say they do.
"Past Pokédex entries" lol don't you mean **future** Pokédex entries? After all, this game takes place in the past, so the stuff that was released earlier actually happened after this game.
There is a request in the same zone where you have to bring a nosepass to a lady stuck in a cave so she can get out and she mentions in the dialogue that they always face north
they do it in pokemon go too. whenever you tap on one, it'll rotate to face you, but if you flee the battle it'll rotate north again after some time. couldn't tell you how happy i was when i saw that
Alpha Nosepass was the chillers Alpha. It say facing north the entire time while the ominous music played.

2:53 the reason why it doesn't mention Phanpy/Donphan is because they are ground types which don't get affected by Raichu's electric powers at all and that is actually pretty neat
Plus they are based on AFRICAN elephants, while Copperajah is based on Indian elephants.

Something I only learned about today: a normally grounded Pokemon that has wings actually flies when sent out of their ball when above water, instead of sitting on that little floating boat. Examples for this is the Rowlet line. This is the first time since the series went 3D, that pokemon have 2 idle stances!
Yeah, the same goes for levitating Pokémon like Arceus or, more commonly, Ectoplasma

A fun fact I learned from my friend who speaks Japanese: the naming of the Hisuian Pokedex makes a bit more sense in Japanese because it means something closer to "field manual"
Plus "Pokedex" is basicaly "pokemon index", which makes more sense in japanese because its a language that tends to abbreviate terms by fusing words. Like the anime "Konosuba" being *kono* *suba* rashii sekai wo shukufukuwo (God Bless this Wonderful world).

@@myotheremailisacat yes, but the way Japanese does it is quite unique on its own because its a language complete and utterly UNNABLE to do letter abbreviations due its syllabic alphabet, so every abbreviation becomes a word on its own.

There is a fun detail I noticed: in battle, pokemons will always look at each other in the eye. So when you have pokemons with large heigh difference (lets say you throw a Dialga against a Turtwig like a maniac) they will both move their heads, eyes and even walk away so they can look each other in the eye, even during attack animation!

I was battling the Alpha Rapidash and walked to the side of it, and it just jerked its head to stare at me. I’ve even got the screenshot because it looked so weird.
I sent my giratina out against a Golduck and the golduck did the “Willem Dafoe looking up” meme face 😂
I have noticed also the pokemon will look at you when throw the pokeball too. When you try to capture in battle.
That explains why they move up to each other. Here I thought Giratina was just trying to intimidate me. Like, dude, there are no Skills in this game, and that's not even yours.
The Casual Tee is actually dependent on your avatar's gender! The female instead wears the "Loose Top - Luxury Holiday" from SwSh. :)
It even has the brand tag with Wooloo's braid!

the farmer having a comment if you give him an alpha pokemon actually applies to almost every quest involving lending one of the townsfolk a pokemon, like when the clothier asks to see a wormadam! in fact, for the Glameow quest, if you show the man an Alpha Glameow, he will actually tell you to go back and catch a normal-sized one, because he believes you caught the wrong pokemon- he specifies that the one he saw was "bidoof sized". i found that one out the hard way XD

One little thing I noticed while playing. The Pokémon who spawn in the hot spring in the Iceland’s are friendly and won’t run away or attack!
if you attack first they will retaliate, but that's pretty fair
When Iscan asks you to catch a Dusknoir, he specifically points out that you can find them in the map area that looks like a clawed hand.
The pokemon photos in the dex being literal pictures can be explained when you first arrive to fight the alpha Kriketune in deer's landing. Laventon comes running up and brandishes his camera, hoping to get pics of an alpha.
Yeah, I was wondering how the hand was a fact that we "missed" when the game specifically tells you about it. Of course, some people don't read everything in games (guilty of that here)

There's even an area close to the hand part named "Tombolo" Walk, which just sounds like thumb, adding more to the implication.
Here's a fun one I noticed while searching for the stupid Unown- behind the clothier there is a clothes line with fabric on it. The more you've unlocked in the clothing shop, the more fabrics will be on the lines.
Just to note, the new basculin isn't a hisuian form, it's classified as its White-Stripe form, just like the Blue-Stripe
Red, white, and blue, true to its Unovan (NY equivalent in Pokemon) origins :)
if you look at the pokedex entry for basculin it says the professor classifies it as a regional form based on its gentle behavior in comparison to normal basculin though?

It is just saying Laventon considers it a regional form, not that it is one.

Fun fact (haven’t seen anyone talk about this), but for the three farm quests (ground type, rock smash user, water type), you can use the Sinnoh starters. Just feels cool and I’m catching three Alpha starters for the farms.

I noticed a random animation detail today. When your character wears geta sandals, if you walk slowly you'll see your character's foot lift first and the sandal will follow shortly after
and the sound of your steps on hard surfaces is more "wooden" compared to other footwears.
In your place outside of the door threshold area you are barefoot. Then going into the door threshold area you got shoes.
@@UnDefinedLegacy the shoes vanish in everyone's dwelling places when you're not in the area near the door; it's common in some cultures - including Japanese - to remove your shoes when you're inside a home.
Love all the details put into this game!!! If I had to guess what happened with Misery's situation, it probably had something to do with day/night encounters getting swapped out. In the Bolderoll slopes, it looks like Graveler spawns during the day, but Zubat can also occupy that spot at night
I believe Austin John Plays just put out a video testing this phenomenon. It's an interesting side effect!

I saw a Haunter turn into a Lickitung in the ruins in the more as the game switch from night to day.
another fact is that when you throw one of your pokemon in water areas, they will either fly, levitate or stand on a wooden platform which is WAYY better than pokemon just magically standing on the surface of the water.
The image of a genuinely intimidating pokemon having to stand on a wooden floatie to fight a bascilin is hilarious.
@@rubengoldman5830 I have a shiny alpha Espeon and I can confirm this is how it feels (intimidating due to size. even more so are the legendaries.)
That last fact, I saw a guy calling it the "shiny swap method".
He found a shiny drifblim and saved, waited til it was morning in his game and saved again, reset the game and it was a starly. So once there's a pokemon in that grid the shiny will be replaced.

Another neat little detail is if you do enough requests around the village, you'll start seeing pokemon and their trainers up and about. This can be seen very early on with a Bidoof request where you must track down 3 Bidoofs around town and afterwards those same Bidoofs will appear on top of their new owner's house. Or how in one request you have to catch a Geodude to help a woman prepare a pickled dish by having the pokemon sit on top of the pot. If you do this, you'll see the Geodude sitting on the same pot from then on.
Imagine being yanked from the wild only to be used as a weight for a lid 🤣
Another neat detail I noticed is that if you talk to either the lady or the Geodude after awhile, the Geodude will evolve like the Wurmple does!
Also, as you do the quests jubilife village grows from one street into three below the river

A neat (and kinda obvious) detail I noticed in the 3 trials of the lake spirits is how Azelf's trial tests how determined you are and just how long you'll sit there and throw balms, incarnating willpower. Mesprit's trial has no wrong answer like how there are no wrong emotions. And Uxie's Trial has a never-changing definitive answer, embodying how knowledge is either right or wrong with no room for error.
Fun Fact about Azelf: You notice how when you throw balms at it and it teleports out if the way? Well after the third try, it stands still and let’s you hit it, almost as if you proved your willpower and allowed you to hit it and finish the trial.
I love how much unnecessary detail they put into this game! I've actually noticed a few things to add on to some of the findings in this video.
- Your character also reacts to other things aside from successful captures as well. Their expression changes if they're being targeted, if they have a status condition such as frostbite, or if there's a pokemon nearby (such as when Aipom runs up to you).
- The gardener isn't the only NPC who gives special dialogue if you bring him an alpha. I brought an alpha starly to the one lady who gives you the starly quest, and she commented on its size too.
I think the guy who wants a parasect does too
I gave an alpha buziel for the Big Buziel, Little Buziel mission and got a special line for it
@@linnea8753 Many people have given him an alpha Parasect because it's easier than leveling a Paras yourself. I don't remember Morel commenting on its size despite the fact that it fills his whole house lmao

Inside the pearl and diamond clan homes pictures resembling alder can be found of each as well as pictures resembling maxie and archie respectively. Perhaps this shows they have heritage in the clan or as I assume these are a hint to future legends games. After all gen 5 is next on the remake list. The original kyurem would make an excellent villain too.
I think gen 2 is next on the remake list. Since the first remakes came out after Gen4

One thing I really liked is that if you run up and challenge any of the Miss Fortune sisters they have different dialogue than if you attempt to ignore them or don't notice them
They also have different dialog depending on where you approach them. I snuck up on Clover from behind, and she fussed at me for it lol!

The Graveler changed to Zubat because of day/night cycles. So that Graveler spawn turned into a Zubat and kept it's shiny seed. Pretty cool.
One thing I've noticed, and I don't know how many other people have, is that exactly 6 Pokémon are shown behind the fence in the pasture.
Always 6.
I've actually used this to decide what Pokémon to use in each outing.
That might make for a fun challenge!

Here's something interesting: Take a good look at the design of the floor during the Arceus encounter at the end of the game. Players who had completed the Arceus event back in HG/SS should easily recognize this "very specific" design...
So I've been alpha hunting for the last week or so and I came across a bunch of your videos and they're playing in the background start to finish. At the end of this I heard you start to talk about the Seed advances and how the species is independent of the advance. Funny enough, i posted my video on Swapping Shiny Pokemon the same day as this video, the 5th. sadly it's only applicable for a small pool of pokemon, but after your 6th shiny starly, it's helpful lol.

I don't know if someone already pointed this out but here's an obscure fact I noticed, The armor that kamado wears when you battle him is the same as wikstrom's from xy
Actual, all NPC's have a special dialogue when giving them an Alpha for missions, its a fun little detail that the game recognises which makes the game feel more alive!
I love that in the solaceon ruins, if you summon wydeer, it actually echos inside the ruins
Same thing happens with any rideable Pokemon in an enclosed space. Their cries echo. It's pretty cool.
Sudowoodos little detail I encountered by accident. It was the funniest thing ever and I still love this game for having details like this.
I found it out in the most hilarious way. If you position your character just right, Sudowoodo will perpetually raise and lower its arms up and down. It basically does arm exercising XD it's hilarious XD
One of the NPCs actually did make a point about Sand's Reach being shaped like a hand. One of my favorite details is the PC can actually be harmed by attacks during battle, though it's just cosmetic. I stood right in the middle of a Hydro Pump and got blown to the side.
I've been damaged even after the attacks land.
You forgot to mention that in The Sea's Legend, the quest is based on a singular book in diamond and pearl.
Oh, what you said on the shiny Graveler, I found a shiny Graveler while hunting Hisuian Sneasel & that particular spot I saw it in, I noticed a Haunter took it during the night. I wonder if I had left the Graveler there, slept until night, & went back if it would of been a shiny Haunter instead. Thanks for letting us know about this, I think I’ll experiment with it in the future. I caught it as a Graveler so obviously too late to experiment with that now but next time I find a random shiny, I’ll save immediately & pin my location & if the spawn changes at night, see if I can change the shiny.
It only works with a save and reset
I actually did this when I encountered a Shiny Combee, the time of day shifted shortly after the Combee spawned and it was replaced with a Shiny Zubat. Right in front of my eyes.
I didn't have Autosave turned off at that point, but I decided to reset the game anyway. 5 minutes later, I'd navigated back to where the Shiny Combee was and it re-spawned giving me a second chance at it (and I caught it). The observations at the end of this video more or less confirmed my suspicions - Shiny encounters are decided the moment you enter the map/area and so long as your game auto-saved after arrival, you can re-attempt that shiny.
@@blarkin145 had the exact same happen except it was a shiny ralts that was swapped out for a regular haunter as day ended. did not have autosave on so I just reset and hauled ass to the ralts instead of taking my time
2:16 single handedly just predicted Pokémon legends ZA without knowing himself
In the highlands theres a big pond thats on 2 levels seperated by a waterfall. At the bottom theres magicarp and at the top over the waterfall theres gyarados. Magicarp is based on the legend of the waterfall with the carp that swam upstream to turn into a dragon. Its a nice little detail.
And its a thing in pokemon snap aswell.
Watching the Sudowoodo slowly follow you with its eyes just makes me feel so bad for all the sudowoodos who’ve frozen and tried to hide in fear just to be cut up by unknowing trainers

My favorite hidden detail is that when you let floatzel out in a body of water, when it falls asleep it floats on its back and I thought it was so cute
One of my favorite things is that if you throw out your pokemon at a static one, they have a quick interaction before going back into their pokeball. During the part of the story where you battle the alphas in the lake caves, I did this with my Basculin. Seeing it's shocked expression at the gigantic Goodra and Zoruark had me rolling
Another cool thing about the Pokédex is that all entries in it are in first person which means that you document your thoughts about them in it which in my opinion is pretty cool.
It's actually Professor Laventon's point of view but it's still pretty cool.
I really hope I get to play this eventually. This would easily become one of my favorite games of all time along with the Ranger games, Mystery Dungeon games, and bw2 and hgss.

It's beautiful seeing Gamefreak adding so many minor details such as the scrapbook pokedex, pichu's/sudowoodo's animation, the muddy feet, etc. Makes the world of Pokemon feel alive
YO THE LEGENDS ZYGARDE SPECULATION IS HYPE! Gen 6 has so much cool lore that’s untapped with how A. Easy and B. Vanilla the games are. If they make more legends games, Zygarde should be next.
And they could keep this trend and have us work for "team" flare xD Maybe the "flare dukedom" or "Flare royal family".
Except Zygarde isn't a mythical pokemon. Diancie, Hoopa, and Volcanion are the mythicals for gen 6. Also, a game in ancient Kalos should be based on the Pokemon War that we still have zero information on what exactly happened other than AZ's Floette dying in it. So...why not call the game Legends Floette, and make it so we FINALLY get AZ's Floette as a playable pokemon?

I think another detail people might miss is that the wurmple you give away will eventually evolve. Not sure if that is something most people notice though.
I know its already been mentioned here but also the shirt of the female player is from Alola.
It even leads to another quest, where it evolves into a cascoon and you have to bring him a silcoon to prove he doesn't have a silcoon
@@battlesheep2552 Interesting, I'm quite far in my game and he is still there with his obvious cascoon expecting his Beautifly. I can only imagine it is cos I have not caught or seen a Cascoon yet. And here I was thinking that eventually it was just going to evolve after a certain story point :p Thanks for the tip, Its a really cool little touch

I wasn't sure if this was mentioned, but the Raichu/Copperajah entry, because the Pokedex entry was written by the professor, it is heavily implied that the professor was originally from the Galar region.

watching 2 yrs later and wow you called it, LEGENDS Z-A is real!
When I started the game, I noticed that the shirt my character was wearing was the same as the default alternate shirt you get in X&Y. Of course, my brain is too small to connect that to "Legends: Zygarde", but seeing this video makes me think that Kalos will finally be done justice.
Note that Nosepass turns back to face north after it may hear you so you can pretty much always sneak up on it. Loved seeing that bit of info in play.
Another detail I found, is when you catch a bidoof, it can give an oran berrry, which can lead to a reference from “bidoof’s big stand.

Blissey usually flee from you, but if you're hurt (red borders) they'll get closer and heal you. Then they flee

Pokemon RNG tables, including shininess, seems to be decided for each map when Jubilife is loaded. I once found a shiny in Cobalt Coastland, failed it, and when I reloaded my file I was back in Jubilife. I travelled to Cobalt Coastland and found the shiny again.
I'm really interested in learning how pokemon are generated in this game

Talking about the pokedex being a physical book, as you progress in the game (or as you catch more pokemon, i don't actually know), the front page of the pokedex shows more and more traces of wear, meaning that it's completely pristine at the start, and as you go on, the colors start to fade at the edges
Adding to the roof in Jubilife Village where you can throw your Pokémon on top of it, I’ve found a few different areas in the game where you can throw your Pokémon into weird places. In certain spots in caves, if you throw your Pokémon in certain parts of the ceiling, you can get your Pokémon to clip through the ceiling, just sort of stuck there with their legs hanging out from under it. I’ve been able to do this is the first cave of the Coronet Highlands and one of the overworld caves in the Alabaster Icelands, and I’d assume there’s probably more places you can do this as well that I hadn’t found yet
In Obsidian Fieldlands, near the Worn Bridge, if you throw your Pokémon at the right angle, you can get them stuck inside of the step looking things. I'll make a video of things like this at some point
Some of the newer pokemon iterations also allowed you to set the shiny version of the pokemon as the default pokedex picture. It isn't new to legends arceus. The folds are a nice detail tho

To add to the fact at around 6:20 about the Pokedex. Sword and Shield's dex also allows you to show the shiny form as the preview if you have the shiny encountered or caught. So perhaps it's just this generations thing that they're going to implement going forward

The last point already has a decent bit of understanding. Under ordinary circumstances, a Pokémon replacing a shiny by a day/night cycle respawn wouldn’t retain the shininess, but when saved and reset, the shininess of the original is then applied. I’m not personally sure if this always works but the effect can be repeated endlessly if found to happen once. Also not sure if it may hold worth as a way to grind a shiny into an alpha shiny. These mechanics might also hint at some weird quirks of shiny luck with “replacement” Pokémon when not resetting
I discovered the Alpha farmland detail when I didn’t have any Pokémon with Rock Smash besides one of my 3 Alpha Kricketune. I was pretty pleased that they added that in, but I was pretty disappointed when the Parasect quest didn’t yield similar results…
The fact that the player character is originally from Kalos is kind of a contradiction, because in Raichu's Pokédex entry where it mentions Copperajah, it also mentions "from my homeland."
That entry is from Laventon, not the main character. Laventon is implied to be from a different country as Hisui, as he uses mix of English words when you play in languages like Japanese or Korean. (Idk how they handled this nuance in English version actually)

I'm italian, and in our localization of the game Arezu is named Maru, which reminds the Japanese pronunciation for Mars, the Roman God of war. It's curious how they chose the Greek name for the God of war Ares in the english localization...
Oh, and by the way, just to add context, Mars is named after the latin word for the God also in italian: Martes 😁

Since the pokedex is just a book with pictures like you said, it makes sense that when I saw my first shiny (ever) and failed it, even though I was in a battle with it I don’t have the shiny picture in my dex.
You get the photographs after you capture them and presumably take the Pokémon to get it’s picture taken with the photographer in town.
6:25 there a have been a ton of poxedexs across the games that keep form changes after you exit them. This video though is still really good! Good work! Thank you!

here’s an interesting one: despite the name, if you look at the map, Jubilife Village doesn’t become Jubilife City; it becomes Canalave. and this wasn’t an oversight; not only is it set up exactly the same, in the beginning of the game, Laventon tells you the avenue you walk down is Canala Avenue
That doesn't make sense. There's no sea North of the Jubilife Village, and it is clearly on the mainland. Canalave just doesn't exist in this game.
Although that's not impossible either, since there _are_ inconsistencies between Hisui and Sinnoh as we know it.
For example, in Sinnoh, Route 201 is shaped like a T, with the lake on the left, and the towns on the right. But in Hisui, it's a straight line between Twinleaf and Sandgem.
Also, there's no room for Snowpoint City, as it's supposed to be near a sea but there's just mountains beneath the Temple. Besides, the entrance to the Temple is on the wrong side.
So maybe you're right, but it's inconsistent.

I've already know almost all the stuff with my normal playthrough of the game. Still interesting to watch. Something I've notice while messing around during battle is that pokemon can look at you and follow your mouvement with their eyes or head, while still trying to face their adversary. If you bother them too much by pushing them, they'll turn around to face you and scream at you, spooking you in the process. It's even more funnier with alpha since you'll have a bigger reaction and can even make you fall to the ground! (Tho I only got this once, so it probably wasn't intended)
