P.S I know I messed up with the archeops base stat total fact I literally have no idea how that slid through i proof watched this vid so many times lmao i always miss something sorry about that everyone!
I enjoy the shiny hunting content but your facts videos and lists were definitely what first had me totally roped on the channel. Would love to see more:)
3:56 That is actually 567, not 576, but the fact is still correct as Archeops is in fact number 567 in the Pokédex! I make mistakes with numbers all the time so don’t worry

7:50 The Level 50 Magikarp is a reference to Team Rocketʼs radio waves which causes some Magikarp to grow much faster (this is also the reason why the red Gyarados exists).
3:23 If you take the average accuracy of all the possible moves nature power can take on (take Swift as 100%) then it comes to 93.33 ish. So rounded to the nearest 5 it would be 95 accuracy.
Funny enough, I was actually the little kid on the Battle Dome play set way back in the day and can confirm that the shiny Kingdra was apart of the original concept. The battle dome you showed was very similar to the one I used when shooting the pictures but they took off some of the parts for different photos. To be honest (as a HUGE Pokemon fan growing up) I did notice the “discolored” Kingdra but most of the toys/props they used were cheaply made as they were cropping most of them out or photo editing something else in (an example being that the cannon I am “holding” on the box was actually not there I had to pretend I was holding it for hours hahaha). They just used the toys as references so I am guessing that they just did not care if they were accurate or not. Still cool to see that a toy I modeled for is in your video hahaha
I actually triggered the Arceus event when I was a kid completely unknowingly. I had an action replay at the time, and had used it to do the Arceus event in Pearl cause I saw people on RUclips do it, and wanted to experience it myself. I eventually transferred this Arceus to my first Soul Silver playthrough. I came across it by accident having not seen anything about it. I remember being really weirded out by the whole thing and not really knowing what to think. I was hyped when I got the egg though lol.
Yeah the Arceus doesn't have to be legit, if there is a cheat detector mechanism it simply needs to be an Arceus that *could* be legit and created with a competent hacking program. I was able to successfully trigger it with an Arceus obtained by the mystery gift proxy server
Man, you reminded me that I owned one of those too and now I'm doubting my memory if I actually got the official event Pokemon or if I used an action replay 😂
I’ve always secretly hoped that the Pokémon plushies would have a random chance of being shiny like the games. I figured that from a production standpoint that’d be easier said than done but it has always felt like a missed opportunity
I would love that! Maybe, it's sort of like a mystery box. They could even do it with Keychains. I also know nothing about producing things like this tho!
@@ItIsYeCat Ya but scalpers are gonna scalp no matter what, can't let that deter the creation of products or eventually there will be nothing left because of an attempt to curtail the scalpers.
@@zeroattentiongaming820 This is... a terrible way of looking at things. Unless you're of the nutjob libertarian variety (in which case you don't live in reality anyway), it's perfectly achievable to either deter or maybe even completely ban scalping through policy. You can probably also activate the Mr. Briney's house rival encounter by catching a Ralts and raising it until it learns Teleport if you don't want to black out. There's also another interesting trick you can do involving Teleport in the early game. If you bring something with Teleport with you to the Rustburo gym battle, you can Teleport as soon as you win the battle and exit the gym. This skips the trigger which starts the Team Aqua event at Rusturf Tunnel, so it doesn't activate until you walk into the zone it'd normally trigger.
Charizard being weak to ice actually lead to me believing for YEARS that fire and ice were both super effective against each other. Eventually I believed that his was either specific to gen 1 or something I made up entirely as a dumb kid. Thinking about it a few months back I finally pieced together that I misattributed the weakness to fire as a whole because Charizard would be my sole fire type, and I often forgot he was part flying. It absolutely blew my mind.
@@orbita2k2 I thought that too at first while watching this video but it was indeed a Type in Gen 1. The 2 Types added in Gen 2 were Dark and Steel. Ice Types in Gen 1 include: -Jynx -Articuno -Dewgong -Cloyster -Lapras
I like to think of it as a conjurer whose in the middle of transforming themselves to mirror the environments they are in. If their concentration is slightly off, there is still a chance of them missing completely and therefore, not being able to fully complete their transformation. In that sense, I like to think of the initial phase surrounding the move nature power as the "setting up" phase prior to the transformation variable taking full effect.
This is likely the answer for why kings rock can make a sleeping or frozen pokemon flinch. The item might activate later in the damage equations and miss the can't be flinched check. I'm not sure of the specifics of how it's all calculated but I'd assume it's along those lines.
@@Jabbahabba but that’s wrong though. It’s either 100% or 0% …seriously I can’t even count the number of times I missed all 5 of my hydro pumps in a row…it’s pain
I actually got that special encounter with May in my first playthrough as a kid! I thought it was totally normal, and my second playthrough really threw me for a loop!
I actually had the battle dome as a kid. It's in storage right now at my grandmother's but man seeing that unlocked some memories. It had little trap doors on each level and I even had a couple of the attachable tiles that snapped to the bottom legs. It was super low quality though. Even brand new It wobbled constantly. Still a cool set though
I pre-ordered the Japanese version of Soul Silver, and had negotiated a trade with a random RUclipsr who had 8 legitimate Movie Arceus he obtained from trading on a JP forum with Google Translate, which I gave some shiny stuff for 2 of them, as well as the Shiny Movie Pichu that unlocked the spiky ear Pichu, and got to do both those in game events. The awesome thing is, the JP Pokemon unlock the events in other region's copies of the game, so I got to trade them around to my friends when the English version came out and let them do the events.
yup. DS stuff was still region free. That is why the 3DS was heavily criticized. Thankfully you can hack away region locks now. But DS compatibility is why DS game collecting is so simple. compatibility is a breeze.
Action Replay allowed me and my homies to do these events. Even got to do the Sinjoh Ruins event twice bc the event Arceus and the Azure Flute Arceus counted as separate event mons.
you can still access all of the old event pokemon thru mystery gift. all of the old events for gen 4 and 5 are hosted on a private server and it’s the only way you can access the old events now.
Fun fact about the SInjoh Ruins - the symbol that you see on the ground where Arceus can cry at the sky is also the same one on the floor in the Arceus boss fight in Legends Arceus. I don't believe this appears anywhere else in the series.
I have a shiny Tyrogue figure! I had no idea it was shiny, I thought it was just weirdly colored since some early Pokemon merch is sometimes just weird and never thought to look it up that's wild
When I was little, I had a pokemon battle dome playset. They were extremely flimsy and broke apart easily. While it didn't come with a shiny kingra, mine did come with a shiny piplup. (Or at least it was off-colored enough to look shiny_
2:25 It's been awhile since I had Pokemon Ranch so I could be wrong but I used to use it all the time, trying to trigger events and get Hayley's special Pokemon (especially that nifty Mew 👀). One event I remember is if you transfered a certain number of Water type Pokemon you could make them all ride a giant wave across the ranch. Another one that can be unlocked happens when you transfered a certain amount of Flying types you could make them fly in a huge V-shape! There's others I can't recall enough to describe though, I'm 80% certain there's a stampede one with Tauros and Miltanks (Maybe Normal types?) and a Psychic type one akin to the ones above where they all float. As well as a lot of Pokemon specific ones, there's Gardevoir one I think? Anyway! Pretty neat! I feel special knowing I've seen them haha!
I actually unlocked that sinjoh ruins event back in the day!!! I remember the real world photos threw me off so hard but it was incredibly cool. I picked girantina, i gave it a rare candy ive kept it as level 2 to this day
I know he already acknowledged it, but the irony of him going on a huge tangent about Rayquaza being spelled wrong, wondering how they missed it, and then the Archeops fact having him say the wrong thing and not noticing it.
Was looking for a comment about the Archeops error so I didn't say something someone else already said! Thank ya! (For any readers: If you wonder... dyslexia. 576 does not equal 567.)
Also he mispronounced Rayquaza. Actually, nobody says Rayquaza right except for that one special episode of the anime in Pokémon X and Y. Rayquaza's name is based on the word "quasar", and if you check Oxford Dictionary, the pronunciation is /ˈKWĀˌzär/, not /ˈKWÄˌzär/. It's one of those things everybody gets wrong that's really annoying, like people struggling to pronounce "Zacian" when Bulbapedia says the name is based on the word "cyan", so it's not "zah-shee-an" or something, it's "za-SY-AN" like CYAN, just like "zaMAZENTA" is MAGENTA. I could rant about this over and over and over.
@@prayagsuthar9856 So, it's "zay-SAI-AN" for Zacian and "ray-QUAY-ZAH" for Rayquaza? Did I get that right? I try my best to adhere to official pronunciations, plus it's just interesting to hear about.
9:15 [Spoilers] I think this fact becomes a lot more interesting from a piece of lore we get in Legends Arceus. The Arceus that trainers can receive are not actually the "true Arcues" but a fragment of Arceus they gift to the player, which also explains why a 10 year old can catch what is literally the god of their world.
10:52 this is my favourite bit of Pokémon shiny hunting. Every RPG acknowledge secret collectibles and rare items, so they’re completely public and no longer secret. Shinies, in the other hand, are almost completely secret. The average player won’t find out about them without outside help, and are an amazing collectible that’s somewhat acknowledged in recent games, but still seemingly ignored and practically forgotten about by Nintendo. True game design at its peak (and that’s serious).
NO joke. When I first played Original Ruby the third pokemon I caught was a shiny Zigzagoon, and I didn't even notice it _was_ shiny until it evolved. Such a cool moment growing up.
fun fact! despite the event absolutely never being released to anyone, and masuda himself confirming they didn't because it'd be "too confusing", the hall of origin level 80 arceus in DPP ALSO works for the alph ruins event, as well as the movie event one, ofc only obtainable if u cheat in the flute with an external device, but I've always thought it's quite interesting that a genuinely never legitimately obtainable Pokémon still triggers an official event, for a second time if u already did it w the movie one too
3:40 it has a 95 percent chance to work. If it works, only then it takes that random move. If it didnt work it just doesnt use the random move to begin with.
An alternative answer to the shiny Kingdra figure is that the mold coloring was not complete. This is very common in test samples and prototypes of action figures. This would explain it's Red body as well. Granted it still existed, and was used in a promotional image for the playset, lots of sample products are either destroyed or stolen/sold off by the factory workers.
Also, forgot to mention. The fact that it's a test image of the set also explains the odd display choices. The Pikachu figures, bonsly and mudkips are all from other figure packs(I actually have both of the Pikachu figures, they were released in a pack of 3 Pokemon iirc) This also explains the armless and off color Geodudes, they are most likely incomplete molds of the final Geodude figure, in fact you can tell that they are in an even earlier state of production because of the lack of polishing and sharp edges.
That excitement I felt when my shiny spinarak toy was on the screen for a sec- 💕💕 I LOVE this series and it’s so cool to see how far Pokémon has come and that… I own the first shiny merch! XD
Thank you so much for bringing up the Pokemon Combat Figures. I've held onto my figures over the years, but I've never been able to search for more since I'd forgotten what they were called. I currently have a Nidorino, Graveler, Blastoise, Venasaur, and Charizard (albeit with a missing wing), and used to have an Articuno figure before I gave it away. I've always loved those figures since they were so much bigger than the Tomy figures I had in my collection. Maybe one of these days I'll see how much they go for so I could purchase a few more of them. I also still have My Pokemon Ranch on my Wii, and it still works, so maybe one of these days I'll see if I can get some footage of some of the other in-game events that no one else shared online. Thank you for sharing this video, I really enjoyed seeing all of the old footage and learning all of these cool facts. I also really wish I went to the Pokemon Center in NYC before it changed into Nintendo World. I first went to Nintendo World during my high school years, which was shortly after the Pokemon Center's final year. I live pretty close to New York too, but back then middle school aged me didn't know where exactly the Pokemon Center was and how to convince my parents to take me, lol.
1:46 - they also use a completely different sprite there! The color is one thing (the GBC can have more palettes on screen than you'd think, so it's still definitely an oversight), but the sprite being different is pretty odd. Probably ram limitations forcing them to just use the sprites used elsewhere in the area, since G/S _can_ run on the original GB as well...
I had that event Arceus back in the day and the Sinjoh Ruins blew my freakin mind as a kid. Breaks my heart a little that shit like that isn't possible on legit copies of the game any more.
Ok but I didn't know Azurill could change gender when evolving! I'd love to also hear less obscure Pokemon facts from you as a relatively new Pokemon fact finder :)
I had a random Arceus about 6 years ago and went to sinjoh ruins with it in hopes it would proc the event and it was absolutely breathtaking. Still have my baby lvl 1 giratina as well
Despite being named after a mudskipper, a fish that can walk on land, Mudkip is actually design wise based on an axolotl, an amphibian with the amazing ability to regrow not just limbs, but also organs- it can even regrow its brain!
@@animeloveer97 Considering wooper evolving into quagsire/clodsire naturally, I would say Wooper isn't even an axolotl, but a giant salamander tadpole while Mudkip, which keeps the juvenile traits into adulthood is an actual axolotl! The phenomena of salamanders keeping their tadpole traits is called neoteny, with axolotls being an obligate neotene (but can be artificially caused to lose them) Would be cool to get a regional mudkip that isn't a neotene and becomes a land-dwelling salamander! Also multiple Pokémon can be based on the same thing. Regis and Golurk are both golems, Moltres and Ho-oH are both phoenixes, Venusaur and Vileplume are both rafflesias, Musharna and Drowzee are both baku/tapirs, not to mention how many butterflies, cats, dogs and other more common anmals we have.

I remember when I was a kid playing Heartgold and found the level 50 Magikarp, caught it and used a rare candy and blew through most of the game with the overpowered Gyrados (I say most because I got to the Elite 4 and..lost the game cartridge). The Magikarp also took multiple balls to catch and I ended up not having enough and couldn’t catch the Red Gyrados because of it lol
I love these videos! As someone who’s consumed an ungodly amount of Pokémon content in the past decade it’s great how many of these facts are things I’ve never heard of. The only one I’ve heard of before is fire not resisting ice in gen 1
OMG! I encontered the fact at 7:50 when I was young and I was so confused. None of my friends believed me that i found a lvl 50 magikarp there and I was always confused by it. Thank you so much for finding this out, younger me would've loved to know this so i could tell all my friends that i wasn't lying.
Man I loved Gen 4 of Pokémon so much because of all the weird things you could do with your pokemon. DSP were awesome, bringing your team to Battle Revolution was super cool, transferring Pokémon to Ranch was so fun and satisfying to see your Ranch grow, getting special pokemon from games like Pokémon Ranger, etc. Such a cool, interconnected generation
This explained a lot to me because I totally remember Charizard being weak to ice attacks and later on in the series got hit with confusion because it suddenly wasn't anymore. To this day, I thought my mind was playing tricks on me - now I know it wasn't 😂
I will say, the Pokemon dome prototype must have been a concept cause I remember having both that mudkip and bonsly action figure as a kid but purchased them solely as action figures. I never bought the battle dome
I am absolutely sure I actually got that alternate may encounter at one point as a kid. I thought I just dreamed about her coming out of that door until now, but it really happened!
I look forward to these every time I love anything to do with obscure facts about media and games and especially when it’s stuff I love, keep the great work up
I knew the Charizard one by experience. This makes two facts I knew about so far, the other being the enigma berry, being an avid player of Japanese Pokémon games and an insane "trade my faves up the generations" nutcase.
I discovered that Charizard was weak to Ice in Gen 1 pretty recently actually. My Charizard got OHKO’d by Lorelei’s Jynx because of it. I was like ‘wtf just happened’.
Hi! I wanted to try and shed some light on why that Kingdra figure might have been purple with a red body. I used to work for Jakks Pacific (although not during the time this Pokemon playset came out), as well as a few other toy companies. Whenever we would get samples from the factories they would almost always come in strange colors. This was because they used whatever color material they had on hand to save cost. There's usually a back and forth process between the designer(s) and the factories on the sculptures, so it just saves money to just use whatever color is on hand, then switch to the correct color once it's final. My best guess is that's what happened here, and maybe they used purple because that was the closest "blue" color they had at the time, which just so happens to coincidentally also be it's Shiny color. As for why the body would be a red color, it's probably for the same reason, but it could also be made out of different material than the head. For the photo, it's not uncommon to use prototypes in the actual packaging/promo photography, and then just Photoshop on the correct colors... I think it was just they forgot to Photoshop that Kingdra to be the right colors... Time crunch during toy fairs and such can be brutal. ^_^; I have no idea if this is what actually happened, but it's my best guess. Hope I helped!
I tell you, when you started with "one of the rarest things in existence" and then brought up the Pokemon Battle Dome, I was ready to book it to my closet to check if I had whatever made it unique! Too bad it's a beta element. Didn't realize they were so rare, though. Come to think of it, mine is in pretty good condition IIRC... 🤔 Anyways, thanks for the videos, I always feel both pleasantly surprised (because there are facts I don't know) and ego-boosted (because there's usually at least one I do). Keep it up!
I remember Jontron talking about Jakks pacific creating the first plug n play consoles, interesting to know they also produced the rarest shiny Pokémon in the world 😳
The lvl 50 magikarp makes sense lore wise and it also ties into a a theory I have why lance has 3 dragonites under there evolution level which is the radio waves team rockets used forced the Pokémon to either evolve or level up And that lance was using that machine to evolve his Pokémon as well
The Kingdra, as much as I would love to think it was manufactured as a shiny variant, is likely just a prototype cast of the figuring that coincidently matched the colour palette of the shiny hairnet. As you say, the planet photographed in the advertising material was an early pre-production version, further supporting the fact that the figurines used were likely prototypes. An interesting story, nonetheless!
1:46 probably has to do with the gameboy color only being able to use a certain amount of colors on the screen/ in a scene at the same time. The original sprite was probably the blue one but they had to change it to green in Ilex forest.
pretty cool facts, only one i knew about already was charizard being weak to ice in gen 1. I've seen those old shiny pokemon action figures before somewhere but i didnt know they were the oldest of their kind, wild.
Holy crap I genuinely remember seeing the Shining Charizard battle toy on eBay once- it was like $324 or something! And those commercials in the background of the ending brought me back so many years... This was a nostalgia trip I didn't know I needed.
The magicarp pool could be a Easter egg hinting to the old adage “the biggest fish in the small pond” and because their loosely based on koi it could be a reflection of their real life behaviour
In gen 3, because catch tutorials were scripted to always perform the same tasks, its possible for wally to kill ralts instead of catching it. If ralts' defense is low enough and zigzagoons attack is high enough, the 2 scripted tackles will kill ralts.
I'm surprised that I haven't heard many comments about this but, the Fire not resisting Ice in Gen 1 was common knowledge to people familiar with Gen 1 mechanics, like how Psychic was actually immune to Ghost. One of the more obscure facts about typing is how Bug used to be Super effective on Poison but also weak to it and Poison being the same. Nowadays, it's Bug is not Very effective against Poison, but Poison is only neutral against Bug! Also, I feel like you already talked about the Dui-decimal thing with Archeops so I'll let it slide...
I've watched a few of your videos, so far, and I don't like or comment on videos very frequently, but you, sir, have won me over. The outro music was the needle that broke the haystack. Absolutely loved the DKC series on SNES, back in the 90's; particularly Diddy Kong's Quest.
Oh snap I used to own that Battle Dome playset. I never expected to see it again in my life in video format. Pretty cool to find out there's more to the story behind the toy. Hopefully someday that shiny Kingdra comes to the surface
I know it's hard to believe but in 2002 I had a Shiny Kingdra on my Pokemon Crystal Italian Cartridge. Captured after having catched Lugia in the Cave where he was. And it was a Red Horsea, which I made evolve in Seadra and Kingdra later. I guess through Pokemon Silver If I do remember correctly, I "cloned" it to have also a shiny Horsea and a shiny Seadra So in the end I had - with complicity of my friends who wanted it so much - around 10 shiny Horsea/Seadra/Kingdras, making 30 of those
Wow, I can't believe someone actually brought up the Nintendo World (now Nintendo NY) door handles. I thought I was the only one who noticed that when I went there. I've been there several times, it's really cool and definitely worth checking out if you're in New York.
Shinies ae made to be hard to believe playground rumor fodder, like the pokégods of yore. So if they lean too far into it, gave them significant gameplay differences, lots of merch, extra storylines, etc. It'd change shinies from a unbelievably rare anonomy that's a reward in itself to an expected grind barrier that locks content away. Shinies walk a fine line in feeling special enough without becoming just an expected part or the routine because they're unquestionably better.

I thought the same for years as well

I thought the 95 accuracy meant that the move had a small chance of missing completely before becoming the move based on the environment you're in
Pretty sure that’s right
I like to think of it as a conjurer whose in the middle of transforming themselves to mirror the environments they are in. If their concentration is slightly off, there is still a chance of them missing completely and therefore, not being able to fully complete their transformation.
In that sense, I like to think of the initial phase surrounding the move nature power as the "setting up" phase prior to the transformation variable taking full effect.

I love how shiny pokemon are rarely officially acknowledged. Probably done to keep them feeling more mythical and mysterious.
@Omi.FiveEleven I pronounce Zacian "ZAY-see-in." It's not cyan in my pronunciation, but it's also not sheean, lol :,)
The ironic thing is that he’s pronouncing Rayquaza wrong and that typo is how you pronounce it.

I think this fact becomes a lot more interesting from a piece of lore we get in Legends Arceus.

Shinies, in the other hand, are almost completely secret.
The Pikachu figures, bonsly and mudkips are all from other figure packs(I actually have both of the Pikachu figures, they were released in a pack of 3 Pokemon iirc)
This also explains the armless and off color Geodudes, they are most likely incomplete molds of the final Geodude figure, in fact you can tell that they are in an even earlier state of production because of the lack of polishing and sharp edges.

1:46 - they also use a completely different sprite there! The color is one thing (the GBC can have more palettes on screen than you'd think, so it's still definitely an oversight), but the sprite being different is pretty odd. Despite being named after a mudskipper, a fish that can walk on land, Mudkip is actually design wise based on an axolotl, an amphibian with the amazing ability to regrow not just limbs, but also organs- it can even regrow its brain!
And mudkip still can't learn recover.
Kinda weird since wooper already existed lol
@@animeloveer97 Considering wooper evolving into quagsire/clodsire naturally, I would say Wooper isn't even an axolotl, but a giant salamander tadpole while Mudkip, which keeps the juvenile traits into adulthood is an actual axolotl! Would be cool to get a regional mudkip that isn't a neotene and becomes a land-dwelling salamander!

Clefairy has Speed and Pokedex no. of 35
Mega Alakazam has Defense and Pokedex no. of 65
Slowbro & Mega Slowbro have Special Defense and Pokedex no. of 80
Voltorb & Hisuian Voltorb have Speed and Pokedex no. of 100
Mega Gyarados has Special Defense and Pokedex no. of 130
Mega Mewtwo Y has Attack and Pokedex no. of 150
From this we can conclude a few interesting things:
Only Generation 1 Pokemon & their alternate forms share a Pokedex no. with a stat
Discounting alternate forms, just 3 Pokemon share a Pokedex no. with a stat, Clefairy, Slowbro & Voltorb
There are 48 Mega forms meaning 10.42% of all Mega-Pokemon share a Pokedex no. with a stat
There are 898 standard form Pokemon meaning just 0.33% share Pokedex no. with a stat
No Pokemon shares its Pokedex no. with 2 or more of its stats
No Pokemon shares its Pokedex no. with its HP stat, but there is at least one case of sharing for all other stats
Hisuian Voltorb is the only regional form to share a Pokedex no. & base stat, it inherits this from its standard form
Mega Slowbro is the only Mega form to have inherited its shared Pokedex no. & base stat from its standard form
Slowbro has a regional form in Galarian Slowbro that does not inherit the shared Pokedex no. & base stat, it is the only alternate form for which this is true
Clefairy is the only standard form Pokemon that shares a Pokedex no. & base stat to not have passed this trait on to exactly 1 alternate form
Clefairy & Hisuian Voltorb are the only Pokemon of these available in Legends : Arceus
Clefairy is the only Pokemon of these available in Sword or Shield (and so the only one available in every main series game)

As for why the body would be a red color, it's probably for the same reason, but it could also be made out of different material than the head. For the photo, it's not uncommon to use prototypes in the actual packaging/promo photography, and then just Photoshop on the correct colors... I think it was just they forgot to Photoshop that Kingdra to be the right colors... Time crunch during toy fairs and such can be brutal. ^_^;
I have no idea if this is what actually happened, but it's my best guess. Hope I helped!
The fact that Rayquaza is actually pronounced like Ray-quay-za as in "quasar", you can understand how they might have misspelled it.
I was looking for someone to comment this

And that lance was using that machine to evolve his Pokémon as well
The Kingdra, as much as I would love to think it was manufactured as a shiny variant, is likely just a prototype cast of the figuring that coincidently matched the colour palette of the shiny hairnet. As you say, the planet photographed in the advertising material was an early pre-production version, further supporting the fact that the figurines used were likely prototypes. An interesting story, nonetheless!
I actually felt sad when I realised we may never know where the shiny kingdra is.

In gen 3, because catch tutorials were scripted to always perform the same tasks, its possible for wally to kill ralts instead of catching it. If ralts' defense is low enough and zigzagoons attack is high enough, the 2 scripted tackles will kill ralts.
That is a cool fact, but I feel like it’s far too well-known to be included in one of these videos.
I'm surprised that I haven't heard many comments about this but, the Fire not resisting Ice in Gen 1 was common knowledge to people familiar with Gen 1 mechanics, like how Psychic was actually immune to Ghost.

Shinies ae made to be hard to believe playground rumor fodder, like the pokégods of yore.
