    The market for these old John Deere tractors is only going up. Well-made, with no software blocks & updates. Nice when your hobby is a great investment. Steve teaching us how it is done!

    Always fun to hang out with old Steve fixing random engines, tractors, and what ever he's got around the place. I have a great respect for people who can seem to fix anything, especially engines. And I love it when something gets the "chooch" or the "Ole Gundy"

    Really enjoying the tractor repair videos, I know how to change burner nozzles and tank filters in my sleep now after watching all your videos over the past couple of years , nice to watch you do other stuff also , you have plenty of projects to keep us watching for years at your place

    Hey Steve, Your doing the stuff I enjoy doing at home. I call it tinkering with my toys. Snowmobile, lawn tractor, chain saw. The list goes on. I think it’s great you being able to use your Heating and Plumbing skills when your out working on them John Deer. Best tractor in my opinion. What a surprise the tractor runs! And sounds good. No smoke. Thanks for bringing us along.

    I had one of those 318's It wouldn't charge because the key switch was bad. You got a new switch, but those terminals on the wires could be rusty and crusty. I'd make sure those were good. I'm jealous of your loaders. Great find!

    15:55 Those Indak switches were used in everything... Craftsman lawn tractor I got when I was 12 had one, key was vertical by the fender shiftier. If left out water would get in it.

    I think the condensor on the coil is just to keep it from interfering with old Tube type TV sets. Also old A.M. radios.

    My Dad has a 9 N Ford Ferguson Tractor that is rough on ignition switches. They never last very long. It is the same age as My Dad. Somebody put what they call a Shermon Step on it, so it has a High and low range and 3 forward regular gears and a reverse. It was built when they had leaded gasoline and the carburetor usually wants to run over and flood the engine because unleaded gas doesn't work good in it.

  • @russellhancock9765
    @russellhancock9765 Год назад +1

    That's the same switch that most riding lawn owners have. They all take that same key. You can also use a straight screwdriver if You loose Your key.

    Yeah, loaders for Deere tractors are bringing stupid money. I’m going to build my own for my 425. Be careful about where you connect power to the coil on an Onan engine. You can burn up the ignition pickup module under the flywheel. Those are expen$ive!

Does yootoob tell these guys to do this? He's not the only one that does this. Maybe it's just me, but seems weird.

    Steve, stop putting so much money in that over worked truck, at your age you need to decide to retire, or get a new truck. You’ve done well, investing in those old cars beats any retirement CDs . You’re a very smart man. Get a smaller truck without all the stock,and limit the inventory. Even if you need to run home for a part.your fuel will be the same in the longrun
