Seeing this video just made me want a tractor…. And guess what, I got on marketplace and found one. Picking it up Saturday to try and get it running! Awesome video y’all, subscribed!
Isn't getting an engine running, (after you put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into it), the best feeling in the world? EXCELLENT JOB!!!! Great to see your success!! If a person has never done what you guys did, they will NEVER UNDERSTAND!!!
Glad y'all got it going but that oil looked rough. I think I would have changed that before trying to start it. Also, when you put your hand over the intake on a diesel it just shuts off the air. It doesn't act like a choke on a gas engine.

Can we take a moment in remembrance to all the mosquitoes that died! Anyway good job! Always a great feeling when you get something running that's been abandoned
It's been a long time. And trully enjoy your family uploads. New products. Yes please. A real channel. ) God or bad. But the truth) God bless mick Australia 🇦🇺)
Looks like an early 60s vintage John Deere tractor. I've got one that's been sitting in my yard for 15 years. It's gas-fired, and I know that water got in the engine, but I hope to get it rebuilt one of these days and have it running again.
Brilliant work. That John Deere was stubborn. For diesels it helps to put two large batteries in parallel to reduce voltage drop and increase the starting current.
Good job getting her running, certainly put some effort in too getting engine going, sounded good. Hopefully ring's loosened up and would start on the starter. Bit more work and you'll have a usable tractor there!!!
A flame on a stick next to the intake or a propane torch heating the intake while starting helps if the glow plugs are weak. And a torch down the cylinder of the rings are stuck helps loosen those aswell the. A little diesel and oil mixed while they are cooling works every time
That smoke could be all the milky engine oil pushing the water past the rings and burning in the cylinders. Change the oil and see if it quits smoking, it sounded like it was running decent
When the engine starts to knock and slow down while you are spraying either in the intake it is too much and is either locking basically it cant compress the atomized either so it slows the rotation and you hear the knock. Stop spraying and let the engine start to clear out before you spray it again.
Trumptards... not real good on da ejication. It is pre-ignition son. Propagation rate of ether is faster than that of diesel, hence the knock. "Atomized ether" is compressible, and thus NOT causing a knock condition.
Cool video, if it was me, I think I would just scrap that whole front loader situation, LOL. Do ya'll know what model tractor it is? Just curious, I couldn't guess it from what I can see of it. Thank you for the entertaining content.
Do a compression test before condemning the engine. Hook up the injectors outside of the engine, to look at spray pattern. Could easily be smoke from injectors. Could be timing too if someone has messed with the engine before.
My way of starting engines that have been dormant for years I heat some engine oil and pour it in through the air vent, this hot oil reaches the piston head and causes the compression of the engine to increase, which results in the engine starting easily. But regarding this tractor, it seems that the fuel does not reach the injector and the pump has a problem
Just put a tube in a front tire like that, and you won't have to keep messing with it like that...eliminates any potential rim leaks, or cracks in the tire...just check and make sure there are no foreign objects poking through the tire that might puncture the tube first...

I did not see it in the video, but if you have water in your oil you should always drain the oil first before trying to crank, the water will have separated and will be at the bottom, when you crank it over your just mixing the water and oil and then sending it through the motor. That is a diesel motor and will run along time but for the love drain that crap out first. its no hard done if there is no water in the oil good ahead and crank away,
Ok mine is 4cyl gas. I used a jack to raise the bucket then strapped a 2x4 to the hydraulic ram to keep it up. Look up 'refurbish battery with welder' and never pay for a new battery again.
Good find and getting it started. Best of all having dad and son time. Now that's priceless.

Making things run on a budget, I can so relate.. Great job guys! I hope I find one just like that.

That’s a 30 or 40 series utility tractor made the same time as the 4430’s or 4440’s. Made in the 70’s or 80’s. I had a 2640 looked very similar.
Brilliant work. That John Deere was stubborn. For diesels it helps to put two large batteries in parallel to reduce voltage drop and increase the starting current.
Got some high quality camera there.
Well done, hard work paid off 👍👌
I have a 1979 2240 john deere and man she's fun drive and does some good wheelies
Great job guys ty for sharing
Great job 👏 lads
Great job man!

awsome work guy,s.
She lives another day…she has a heart again to build or help out another community.
Well done!!
😊 you got the key on and the fuel on
Love your videos thank you so much for this great content
Hello guys, very good video with a tight budget but really eager to make it work, remind me, greetings from Argentina
Good job bro 👍
great content guys
Congrats 👍
Hi. Just found your channel..Great stuff. I like it
The back tires are filled with calcium to load them. Heavier weight better traction.
I like this video because I feel like that tractor is in my price range.
Mine too!
I never use starting fluid. Soak a shop rag in gasoline, and stretch it over the air intake. She will bang every time and not lock knock.
Hello from Greece nice tattoo the man in the black t shirt nice job you did in this track
That smoke could be all the milky engine oil pushing the water past the rings and burning in the cylinders.
Change the oil and see if it quits smoking, it sounded like it was running decent
I love it guys that's awesome

That's awesome guys old tractors they don't build them like they used to
That was fun.
Well done

Hey from greece nice jop. And nise tatoo👍

Does that have glow plugs or is it like my IH 454 and on cold start you have to use starter fluid
Good 👍🏻 job
ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ ..... Thanks you from GREECE HELLAS ATHENS
Great job 👍
It's not a rear boom. 3 point hitch correct name

Somebody knows nothing of diesels...

She's definitely got some blow by going on.
That's chloride in the tires to add weight to the rear end for the loader.
Hope yall changed the oil before running it
Well....I dont think so! the dipstick, show full of water. Next time ! before any thing else... new oil!!
what model is this tractor
It sounds good now fix it up and use it good job
Did you change the oil.

Why havn't you tried the glow plugs ?
The headlights remind me of the Iron Giant movie

May farm again after you redo the rings
какая же мощная техника у американцев, круто!
There's liquid in the tires because it's added for weight. Weighted tires.
What size jd tractor?
This bird brain is going to help get a tractor running and he thinks that's water in the tires ok.
What is motor "awl"??
thats a good idea to keep mosquitoes away
Geniusze nie odpowietrzyli układu wtryskowego

please tell me the name and model of this tractor?
cool
Wish I could get hold of free stuff
nice
Ωραίο tattoo το Μολών λαβέ!!!
Before your time? Most lifts and such uses those batteries, its absolutely normal batteries😅
Those front rims are on backwards, if u put tractor ties back on front rims they'll go on right. But that's a 2240
Never changed the oil????
Not sure why you won't drop the old oil.
Change the oil mate cha😊
Hey! Whaddya doin with my 2010 series John Deere Utility tractor? No shit I have the exact same tractor. Identical as far as I can see.
Ok mine is 4cyl gas. I used a jack to raise the bucket then strapped a 2x4 to the hydraulic ram to keep it up. Look up 'refurbish battery with welder' and never pay for a new battery again.
Hot wIre the glowplugs. That would help.
Shes a beaut
